ClimateClimate: The climate of Peru varies according to area. On the coast, winter starts from June and lasts till September. On the other hand, the mountainous areas are often sunny during the day and cold at night. The mountains and jungle receives heavy rains during December to April. However, it should be noted that it never rains in Lima and most of the coast, except for Tumbes and Piura, which have tropical climates.

Tourist Visa

  • The Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa. If in case, the passport has been renewed, the previous passport should be enclosed.
  • Two duly filled-in completed visa forms.
  • Two latest passports-sizes colored phonographs, with white background.
  • Visa application should be enclosed with a Covering Letter written by the Applicant, mentioning the purpose of travel.
  • If the applicant is employed, then a letter from the Company is also required with company’s profile and proof of registration.
  • It is to be noted that application should be attached with original confirmed onward / return air ticket because the air-ticket number is used on the visa stamp.
  • Documentary proof of funds is required. Applicants can attach the same in the form of PAN Card copy, property papers, original bank statements for the past 6 months, foreign exchange endorsement in the passport etc.
  • Applications should be attached with his / her Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years. These documents must be attested by the Notary Public.
  • In the case of sponsored trips to Peru, the Sponsor in Peru or India need to be equally accredited for his/ her financial status, employment and source of income. Rather, the sponsor should give a written affidavit duly signed and certified by the notary stating his/ her responsibility for the boarding and lodging of the Applicant. The Sponsor should also take liability for the repatriation of the traveler, if in case he / she acquires an illegal status or does not have sufficient funds to come back.
  • All applicants must note that photocopies / facsimile copies of the documents will not be accepted in any case.
  • After issuance, the Visa remains valid for 6 months and permits a maximum stay of 90 days (per entry).
  • Visa processing time can take from 3 to 4 working days.

The Embassy of Peru reserves the right to ask for additional documents or call the applicant for a personal interview and verification.

Business Visa

  • The Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa. If in case, the passport has been renewed, the previous passport should be enclosed.
  • Two duly filled-in completed visa forms.
  • Two latest passports-sizes colored phonographs, with white background.
  • Application should be enclosed with a Covering Letter from the Indian Business House / company giving details about the purpose of travel.
  • A Letter of Guarantee, written in Spanish duly attested and notarized, from the Business Associate/ s in Peru should be attached with the application form. The same need to be e-mailed at: consular@embassyperuindia.in
  • Company profile and proof of Registration of the Company employing the Applicant should also be enclosed with the application.
  • A Recommendation Letter from the Chamber of Commerce in India also needs to be attached.
  • It is to be noted that application should be attached with original confirmed onward / return air ticket because the air-ticket number is used on the visa stamp.
  • Original bank statements of the past 6 months, of both the Company and the Applicant.
  • Applications should be attached with his / her Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years. These documents must be attested by the Notary Public.

Transit Visa

  • Peru doesn't issue Transit Visa.

Seamen Visa

  • The Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa. If in case, the passport has been renewed, the previous passport should be enclosed.
  • Two duly filled-in completed visa forms.
  • Two latest passports-sizes colored phonographs, with white background.
  • It should be noted that application should be attached with original confirmed onward / return air ticket because the air-ticket number is used on the visa stamp.
  • Original bank statements of the past 6 months, of both the Company and the Applicant.
  • Applications should be attached with his / her Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years. These documents must be attested by the Notary Public.
  • All applicants must note that photocopies / facsimile copies of the documents will not be accepted in any case.
  • The visa application form should be enclosed with Covering Letter from the Indian Shipping Company mentioning the reason of the visit.
  • Indian Seamen traveling on duty must carry a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with Seamen book.
  • In addition, a Letter from the Shipping Agent in Peru must be faxed directly to the Embassy giving the particulars of the Seamen, the date and port of their joining the Ship.
  • The Processing time is 3 to 4 working days, after the visa is sanctioned.
