Lithuania is a Schengen State and has some specific visa guidelines. Kindly go through the following note:
Schengen Territory: The citizens of India can get short stay visa for a period that ranges from one to ninety days, which will be valid for all countries of the Schengen Territory i.e. Austria, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Iceland, Latvia, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden & Switzerland. The Schengen Convention is an innovative initiative taken for freedom of circulation of people. According to the same, foreigners having a valid stay permit delivered by one of the Schengen states can leave and later re-enter the Schengen Territory without taking visa again, but with a condition that they have a valid passport along with relevant travel document and a multiple entry visa. However, application for visas have to be submitted with the relevant Consular authorities, which are to be determined according to the following criteria
- If the applicant intends to stay in one country only, the application should be submitted at the Representation of the same country.
- If the applicant intends to travel to more than a few member States, the application should be submitted at the Representation of the country where the main point of travel lies mentioning the duration of stay.
- If the main destination cannot be determined, the competent Consular office for processing the application will be one of the countries of the first port of entry into the Schengen Territory.
- The long term visas are still subject to the Law of the country of destination. They must be applied for at the Consular Authorities of the concerned member of the states.
Tourist Visa
Note: One must note that the personal presence of the applicant is compulsory. In addition, applicant must make sure that Air Ticket, Insurance, Invitation, and Covering Letter (to be submitted along with the visa application form) must have the matching dates.
A valid travel passport (its period of validity should be over the validity period of the requested visa by at least three months). One completed Schengen Visa Application Form mentioning the full Indian address and contact details under the Applicant's signature.
- Applicant’s passport should be for at least three months beyond the date of intended stay with two blank pages. Indian passports valid for over 10 years will not be accepted as the main required travel document.
- Two latest passport size colored photographs (35 x 40 mm wide) with white background, 70-80% face coverage. Photographs should be clicked by a digital camera with high quality colour and should be printed on photo-quality paper. Photographs must not be more than 6 months old. Photograph should be pasted in the specified space, not stapled.
- Applicants should fill the all columns in the Visa Form carefully to avoid any delay or refusal of the visa.
- Applicant need to enclose a covering letter explaining the exact purpose and duration of stay in Lithuania with the visa application form.
- Approved Leave letter from the Company the applicant is working for.
- Application should be enclosed with a copy of Invitation Letter, approved by the Migration Office in Lithuania.
- Documents authenticating the available means for travelling and return to the state of origin (bank statements of past three months, salary slips, sponsor's letter etc.).
- Proof of confirmed Hotel reservations for the entire duration of stay in the Schengen area.
- Confirmed Air ticket reservation.
Application should also be enclosed with a copy of overseas medical insurance policy (equivalent to 30,000 Euros, valid in Schengen area). Applicants need to carry your original insurance for verification at the time of submission of visa application form. - Reliance for the age group of 3 months to 70 years.
- Tata/AIG for the age group of 6 months to 55 years.
- Oriental Insurance Company for the age group of 6 months to 60 years.
The Visa Processing time will take from 7 to 10 working days.
Once paid, Visa fee will not be refunded. It is non-refundable.

Business Visa

- In addition, an official covering letter from the employer giving exact purpose of tour, applicant's designation and applicant's monthly income.
- Bank statements of the company covering the last 3 months should be attached.
- The proof of employment for the last 12 months should be attached with the application form.
- Applicant’s salary slips for the last 6 months.
- Documents, data representing present and previous activities of the businessmen / artists / sportsmen.
- Detailed programme of the event in Lithuania.
- Documentary proof of confirmed Hotel reservations for the entire duration of stay in the Schengen area.
- Confirmed Air ticket reservation.
