Climate: Iceland's climate is majorly tempered by the Gulf Stream. Summer season is mild and winters are rather cold. However, the colourful Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) emerge right from the end of August. From the end of May to the starting of August, there are nearly 24 hours of unending daylight in Reykjav­k, while in the northern part of the country the sun barely sets at all. Winds are strong and gusty at times and there is the random dust storm in the interior. Snow is not as common as the name of the country seems to suggest. It is primarily in northern Iceland that skiing conditions are realistically positive. However, the weather is very unreliable at all times of the year, and majorly in Reykjav­k one can see rain, sunshine, drizzle and snow in the same day. One of the best things of Iceland is its air which is clean and pollution-free.
