It is to be noted that the Embassy of Brazil does not give any information on visa status. However, the same can be checked online by visiting the following link: //ebi.modulusweb.com/
The Visa is issued for the following categories:
- For Travelers on business trips (prospective meetings, sales promotion, signing contracts, etc.)
- For Participating in Trade Fairs.
- For Media coverage or filming.
- For Flight / ship crewmembers not holding an international crew card
- For Adoption of a Brazilian child.
People related to the installation, service and / or repair of equipment or provision of any kind of technical assistance in Brazil don't qualify for a business visa. Instead, they need to get a Temporary Visa V (Work Permit).
The Applicant's passport should have a validity of six months from the intended arrival date in Brazil. The passport should also have one blank page available along with the photocopies of the first two pages and last page of the passport.
It is to be noted that the Embassy no longer accept the physically filled visa application forms. Thus, the Applicant is required to complete the "Online Visa Application Form" by visiting the following link: scedv.serpro.gov.br
Post filling the online form one should take its printout (back to back). The duly filled printout of the application form should be signed by the Applicant only. The photo should also be pasted in the specified space. (Parents must sign for minors under 18 years old).
One latest photograph (5cm x 4cm) with good quality, front view, white background and all facial features should be clearly visible, needs to be submitted. (Snapshots, computer pictures and touched up photographs will not be accepted.)
A letter from the Indian company (on its letter head) where the applicant is employed, mentioning his / her name and title, how long the employee has been working for the company, the purpose of visit with complete details of the proposed trip (with complete elaboration on business discussions) and that it presumes full responsibility regarding the applicants business pursuits and his / her expenses connected with the visit.
The Invitation letter from Brazil on the company letter head clearly mentioning:- a) Its registration number (CNPJ), b) The contact details of the company, and c) All the details of the proposed visit to Brazil, including the period of stay. The invitation letter should preferably be written in Portuguese.
A Letter of recommendation from the Chambers of Commerce / Export Promotion Council/Manufacturers Associations in India.
It should be noted that all letters obtained to the Embassy from India and / or Brazil ought to have the name, designation, department and contact number below the signature of the Authorized signatory.
A Xerox copy of the highest educational qualification of the passenger (applicant) / degree certificate.
Income Tax returns statements of past three years.
Bank statements for past six months.
Applicant should attach a copy of the round-trip ticket or a pre-booked itinerary mentioning travel to and from Brazil, confirming purchase of the ticket and passenger's name, itinerary, flight number and arrival / departure dates along with PNR number.
Applicants must obtain the international vaccination certificates which are required when returning to their country of origin, like the yellow fever.
One must note that the Business visa holders are not permitted to engage in any remunerative activity, provision of services, technical assistance either with or without a contract.
All Business visa holders can only stay in Brazil for up to 90 days, despite of nationality or duration of visa was issued. The Federal Police in Brazil can extend this 90-day period, but the stays in Brazil may not exceed 180 days per year from the date of first entry, under any circumstances.
Once issued, the Business Visas should be used in the period of 90 days from the date they were issued or they will become annulled.
All Visas are officially valid from the date of first entry in Brazil.
Applicant must attach photocopies of any previous Brazilian Visas (if any).
The requisite documents should not be considered all-inclusive for issuance of Business Visa. The Brazilian Visa Section reserves the right to apply additional requirements when they are deemed necessary.
All documents / documentary communications from India addressed to the Embassy should be submitted in original only.
All document photocopies presented must be clear, legible and valid.
If the visa application is submitted through a Travel Agent or an Authorized Representative, then the additional consular fee is charged.
The visa processing time can take up to 7 to 9 days.
The Embassy can ask for any request additional information / documentation, if it seems necessary.
For Non Indian Citizens the following documents are required to be submitted besides the General Requirements.
Non Indian Citizens' presence is mandatory and they should also submit a copy of the Indian Residential Permit for foreign residents and / or a valid document to return from Brazil to India or to any another country.
For Minors (under 18 years of age) the following documents are required to be submitted besides the General Requirements.
Original birth certificate and its copy. The Copies submitted without the original birth certificate must be attested by any authorized signatory.
A notarized letter of consent, duly signed by the parent, or by both parents if the minor is traveling alone. However, if the minor is traveling with both parents this letter is not necessary but both of them need to sign the visa application form and all names appear on the itinerary and both parents are applying for the visa at the same time.
The documentary proof of immunization record for polio for children between ages of three months and six years needs to be attached. If the child cannot be immunized one should bring a notarized letter from the child's physician.
For Filming of documentaries / Commercial / Publicity:
People applying for visa for filming of documentaries / commercial / publicity to Brazil should request the Brazilian partner to apply for a special authorization from the "Secretaria para o Desenvolvimento Audiovisual" of ANCINE (National Agency of Cinema), to be obtained directly by the Brazilian partner.
For Joining ship / flights in Brazil:
- Applicant should submit a letter from the shipping company (as per format given in the website)
- A copy of applicant's passport.
- A copy of CDC with the relevant validity page along with the original.
- A copy of contract / assignment letter.
For Participating in Trade Fairs:
The applicant needs to submit the proof of payment for participation
One should note that the Embassy of Brazil only accepts Visa Fees and other Consular / Legalization Fees in the form of Bank Draft, to be drawn in favour of: "Embassy of Brazil - Consular", payable in New Delhi
For Mumbai Consulate, the visa fee is to be paid in form of a Bank Draft in favour of "Consulate General of Brazil", payable in Mumbai.
The bank drafts should be submitted as per the following manner:
a) A singular Bank Draft equivalent to the Visa Fee, if the Application is submitted by an applicant personally at the Embassy;
b) Two (2) separate Bank Drafts, one for the Visa Fee and the other towards the Processing Fee, if the Visa Application is applied through a third party.
Note:
One should bring the Bank Drafts for the processing, or handling fees, as applicable, along with the application form.
Please note that Embassy do not accept visa requests by mail. The application needs to be submitted in person / friend / relative or through an agency.
