Tourist Visa
- An applicant must have a sponsor who can apply for a visa on his / her behalf as visa is not directly issued from the consulate. One can contact or take assistance from any of the following:
- The airline
- The hotel in Bahrain where one has done the bookings
- Any travel agent of Bahrain
- Any Bahrain company which is willing to offer sponsorship
- Any citizen Bahrain of who is willing to provide sponsorship
- One must note that not any passenger is permitted to board the flight without the NOC. However, the passengers in Mumbai can get the visa endorsement after getting the NOC to the Consulate with following documents:
- The original passport and the photocopy of first & last page of the passport
- Two passport size photographs
Business Visa
- The applicant must have a valid passport (along with photocopy of the first & last page of the same).
- To apply for visa, the applicant requires one visa form (not hand-written) but only typed (photocopy will not be accepted).
- Submit the two passport-size photographs.
- The applicant must obtain a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Sponsor in Bahrain (in original). In addition, the sponsor must submit the passport details to the Immigration Directorate to obtain the No-Objection Certificate (NOC). The entire process takes duration of about 15 days.
- The applicant will need to go through a medical examination from a doctor on the panel of the Consulate General. The examination is not liable for children below 12 years and adults above 60 years of age.
- Processing time is 24 hours.
- The visa is issued for a period of 14 days to 3 months. People who wish to travel for employment can obtain a four weeks visit visa within which they must get their employment visa stamped on their passport to extend their stay
Note: It should be noted that no passenger is allowed to board the flight without the NOC. However, the passenger in Mumbai is allowed to board the flight without the NOC. The passengers in Mumbai may get the visa endorsement after showing the NOC to the Consulate. Nevertheless, for applicants living out of Mumbai, there is a relaxation to get the visa endorsed on arrival at Bahrain.
Transit Visa
A passenger doesn't need any visa for an onward journey within 72 hrs without leaving the airport transit area. However, they must hold confirmed tickets and visa for onward destination.
Seamen Visa
Indian seamen doesndt need any visa only if they are traveling on duty holding a letter of guarantee from the Shipping Company with Seamen Book, and are boarding the Ship within 72 hours. However, the Seamen have to meet the Shipping Agent who is responsible for arranging the entire procedure.
