Tourist / Business / Transit / Seamen Visa
Post March 5, 2012, it is mandatory for all applicants to complete the application process online. One can download the required forms on www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk. Applicant requires clicking on the button "APPLY ONLINE", select the purpose of visit (in the options given) and after completing the online visa formalities, getting an option for appointment date. The printout of the completed application need to be taken on day of appointment to visit VFS for biometrics, while the visa fee can be paid in cash or bank demand draft.
Note:
- One should submit all the original requisite documents along with photocopies of the same. All original documents will be returned only after the visa process is completed.
- Visa Fee is payable for each Applicant which can be paid in cash or in the form of Bank draft. The bank drafts should be made in favor of:
- The British High Commission" payable in New Delhi(if applying in Northern India)
- The British Deputy High Commission" payable in Mumbai (if applying in Western India)
- The British Deputy High Commission" payable in Chennai (if applying in Southern India
Note: The Indian nationals require visa to visit the Bahamas. One can apply for the same at The British High Commission in New Delhi.
- Applicant should possess a valid passport.
- Applicant needs to get one visa form (photocopy is also allowed).
- Two photographs with a white background.
- The applicant will also need to submit a covering letter mentioning the reason of travel, duration of stay, and other important details etc.
- The original bank statements for last six months are required.
- The original Income Tax Returns statements of past 3 years.
- The original salary slips for last six months of applicant's current job.
- If the applicant is traveling for tourism / holiday purpose, a leave letter from the Employer is required.
- As all applications are referred to Bahamas for approval, the processing period of visa formalities can take up to 6 to 8 weeks.
