About Dubai Honeymoon

Dubai received 19.59 million international overnight visitors in 2025, and 2.89 million of them came from South Asia. That makes it one of the most familiar overseas destinations an Indian couple can pick. The flights are cheap and frequent, and somebody in your family has already been and has opinions about it.

That familiarity is exactly why most Dubai honeymoon tour packages end up looking identical: two towers, one mall, one desert safari, done. Dubai has more range than that, but only if you know which parts are worth your evenings and which parts are a queue with a view.

Why Visit Dubai for a Honeymoon?

Dubai is not a hideaway. If your idea of a honeymoon is a villa where you speak to nobody for six days, this is the wrong city.

What Dubai does well is variety within very short distances:

  • You lose almost no time getting there: Delhi to Dubai is 2,213 km by air, a non-stop hop with no jet lag at either end. On a seven-day break, that is two full days you do not spend in transit.
  • Two very different cities sit 20 minutes apart: There is the Dubai of the towers, and the Dubai of the Creek, where wooden abras still ferry people across for AED 1 (roughly ₹26). Couples who only see the first half come home saying it felt like a shopping centre. They are not wrong; they just stopped early.
  • Everything is bookable in advance: Timed tickets, transfers, restaurant slots. For a trip where neither of you wants to spend an evening arguing over logistics, that predictability is worth more than it sounds.

What Makes Dubai Different from the Usual Honeymoon Shortlist?

Bali and the Maldives sell stillness. Dubai sells contrast. You can have breakfast in a 1960s courtyard house in Al Fahidi, spend the afternoon on a beach looking at the Burj Al Arab, and watch a fountain show at 9 pm, without a single journey longer than half an hour.

The trade-off is honest. This is a busy, hot, heavily air-conditioned city built for volume, and nothing about it is secluded. Book it for the range, not for the romance of emptiness.

Experiences in Dubai Worth Building Your Honeymoon Around

Most honeymoon tour packages in Dubai bundle four or five top spots. Below are the ones that hold up:

A Night in the Desert

The desert safari is the one cliché that earns its place, because the landscape genuinely changes 40 minutes outside the city. Evening safaris run dune drives, a camel ride, dinner and a show at a camp. The upgrade worth considering is a sunrise hot air balloon flight, from around AED 1,049, roughly ₹27,000 per person, including breakfast on landing.

Book it for a night in the middle of your trip, not the first evening. Dune driving on day one, jet-lagged and overfed, is how people end up sitting out the rest of it.

The Burj Khalifa and the Fountain After Dark

At the Top on levels 124 and 125 costs roughly ₹4,500 per person off-peak and about ₹6,000 for sunset slots, which sell out first and are worth the premium exactly once. Go up, then come down and stay for the fountain.

The Dubai Fountain reopened on 1 October 2025 after a five-month refurbishment and now runs evening shows from 6 pm to 11 pm every 30 minutes. Watching from the lake promenade costs nothing, which is useful to know in a city that charges for most views.

Old Dubai, on Foot and by Water

Cross the Creek on an abra, walk the Gold Souk and the Spice Souk, then spend an hour in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, where the wind towers and coral-block houses predate every tower on the skyline.

The Palm and the Beach Half

The View at the Palm on level 52 starts at about AED 100, close to ₹2,570, and gives you the frond-shaped island from directly above. Afternoon tea at the Skyview Bar in the Burj Al Arab runs around AED 650, near ₹16,700 per person.

When choosing hotels in dubai, the real decision is beach or downtown. Jumeirah and the Palm suit couples who want pool days; downtown suits couples who want to walk out into the city each evening.

A Day in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi sits about 140 km down the E11, roughly 90 minutes by road, and it is the best value day of a Dubai trip. Entry to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is free, including the guided walk-in tours.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is around AED 63, or ₹1,620. Most Abu Dhabi tour packages run this as a long day trip with a driver. Go on a weekday, start early, and dress for the mosque before you leave the hotel rather than queueing for a robe at the gate.

What to Skip, and What to Check Before You Book?

Here’s where a lot of Dubai honeymoon tour package itineraries accidentally waste money:

  • Two headline attractions are not currently open: The Museum of the Future is temporarily closed, and Ain Dubai is not running public rides. Both still appear on plenty of package itineraries. Confirm the status of either before you let it anchor a day.
  • The seasonal attractions are genuinely seasonal: Dubai Miracle Garden runs roughly from late September to the end of May, with adult entry near ₹2,570. Global Village opens mid-October and runs to May, with entry from about ₹640. Travel in July and both are shut.
  • Do not build days around malls: Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates are worth an evening between them, not three afternoons.
  • Sunset slots cost more everywhere: Observation decks, dhow cruises and desert camps all price the golden hour higher. Pick one sunset experience and take the cheaper slot for the rest.

How to Reach Dubai and What the Visa Involves?

Dubai International (DXB) takes direct flights to dubai from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and a dozen more Indian cities. Al Maktoum International (DWC) sits further out, so check which airport your fare lands at.

Indian passport holders need a visa in advance. The GDRFA fee for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa is AED 200 plus 5 percent VAT, which is close to ₹5,400. Applying through an airline, hotel, or agent typically brings the all-in cost to ₹7,000 to ₹8,500 per person, with processing in three to five working days. Apply at least two weeks out, because honeymoon dates do not move and express processing costs more.

Best Time to Visit Dubai on a Honeymoon

The season decides what your trip actually is. Winter Dubai is an outdoor city; summer Dubai an indoor one at half the hotel price.

Here’s a season-wise table:

SeasonMonthsTemperatureBest For
Winter (Peak) December – February 14°C to 27°C Desert nights, beach days, and walking through the old quarters
Cool Shoulder November & March 19°C to 32°C Slightly lower rates and attractions remaining open
Warm Shoulder April & October 24°C to 38°C Good hotel value, with early starts recommended for outdoor activities
Summer May – September 30°C to 45°C Indoor attractions, lower hotel rates, and Dubai Summer Surprises

December to February is the window most Dubai honeymoon tour packages are built around, with the sharpest spike over Christmas and New Year. If your leave only lines up with June or July, plan around mornings and evenings and accept that the desert is off the table.

What a Dubai Honeymoon Actually Costs?

Where the money goes is the useful part. Couples paying at the upper end are buying the beach-facing room and the private transfers, not more sights, and luxury tour packages bundle that more cheaply than booking the same components separately.

Here’s a complete breakdown:

WhatMid-rangeUpper End
Return Flights for Two ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 ₹1,10,000 and up
Five Nights, Four-Star to Five-Star Hotels ₹50,000 to ₹90,000 ₹1,80,000 and up
Visas for Two ₹14,000 to ₹17,000 ₹14,000 to ₹17,000
Experiences and Entry Tickets ₹25,000 to ₹40,000 ₹80,000 and up
Food, Taxis and Extras ₹30,000 ₹60,000 and up
Approximate Total ₹1,80,000 to ₹2,60,000 ₹4,50,000 and up

Things to Know Before You Fly

Here are the things you need to be sure of before you board your plane:

  • Dress code: Ordinary summer clothing is fine across the city, but malls, souks and religious sites expect shoulders and knees covered. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque requires long sleeves, full-length clothing and a headscarf for women.
  • Alcohol: Served in licensed hotels, bars and restaurants. Drinking in public or being drunk in public is an offence.
  • Getting around: The Metro covers the tourist spine along Sheikh Zayed Road, and taxis are inexpensive by Indian city standards. A rented car is unnecessary unless you drive to Abu Dhabi yourself.
  • Ramadan: Daytime eating and drinking in public is restricted and the city's rhythm shifts to the evening. Interesting to visit, poor timing for a beach holiday.
  • Book the timed things first: Observation decks, activities in Dubai and popular restaurants fill up before flights and hotels do in peak season.

Plan Your Dubai Honeymoon with EaseMyTrip

The couples who enjoy Dubai most stop trying to see all of it. Three experiences you actually want: a beach afternoon with nothing scheduled, an evening in the old city and a desert night. That beats nine attractions and a permanent queue.

EaseMyTrip Holidays Dubai honeymoon tour packages put the flights, hotel, transfers and experiences together so the planning is done before you land. Book with us and pay zero booking fee on flights.

FAQs on Dubai Honeymoon Tour Packages

Q.Are unmarried couples allowed to share a hotel room in Dubai?

Ans: Yes. The law was relaxed in 2020, and hotels do not ask for a marriage certificate at check-in, so this is no longer the concern it was for earlier Indian travellers. What still applies is public conduct. Displays of affection beyond hand-holding are technically an offence. Behave roughly as you would in a conservative Indian city, and none of this will touch your trip.

Q.What is the Tourism Dirham fee, and is it included in package prices?

Ans: It is a per-room, per-night government charge that hotels collect on top of your room rate, usually not included in the Dubai honeymoon tour package price you were quoted. The fee runs from AED 7 to AED 20 per room per night depending on the hotel's grade, so roughly ₹180 to ₹515, capped at 30 consecutive nights. On a five-night five-star stay, that is about ₹2,600 at checkout, which is small but better known in advance.

Q.Do we need travel insurance for a Dubai honeymoon?

Ans: Get it, though whether or not it is compulsory depends on your visa type. Standard 30-day tourist visas are often processed without proof of cover, while the five-year multiple-entry visa does require it, and processing centres ask inconsistently. Aim for at least ₹50,00,000 of emergency medical cover.

Q.How much gold jewellery can we bring back from the souks?

Ans: Less than most people assume. The duty-free concession of 20 grams for men and 40 grams for women applies only to Indians who have lived abroad for over a year, so a couple returning from a week-long honeymoon does not qualify. Souk purchases count against the general baggage allowance of ₹50,000 per passenger, and anything above that is dutiable on arrival. Keep every receipt and declare properly rather than improvising at the green channel.

Q.Can we hire a car on an Indian driving licence?

Ans: Not on the licence alone. India is not on the UAE's direct-recognition list, so a visitor needs an International Driving Permit alongside it, obtained in India before you fly through your RTO or the Parivahan portal. Rental firms also want your passport, visa copy and a credit card for the deposit. For most honeymoon itineraries, a car is unnecessary anyway, since taxis and the Metro cover everything you will visit.

Q.Are drones and street photography restricted?

Ans: Yes, and the penalties are steep. Recreational drone flying in Dubai is suspended, registration needs an Emirates ID that tourists cannot get, and flying without permits carries fines up to AED 20,000 (₹5,21,910) with equipment confiscated. On the ground, photographing people without consent is prohibited, and shooting government, military or police buildings can bring criminal charges. Ordinary holiday photography in tourist areas is fine.

Q.Is tipping expected in Dubai?

Ans: Yes, many restaurants add a service charge, which is not the same as a tip and does not always reach staff, so 10 percent in cash on top is normal for good service. Porters and housekeeping get AED 5 to AED 10, roughly ₹130 to ₹260, and taxi fares are usually rounded up. Carry small notes, because nobody carries change for tips.

Q.How do we stay connected, local SIM or international roaming?

Ans: A local prepaid SIM or eSIM is far cheaper than Indian roaming packs for a week. Both UAE operators sell tourist SIMs at the Dubai airport arrivals hall, and arriving passengers are often offered a free starter SIM with a small data allowance, enough for maps and messaging on day one. Buy the paid bundle if you plan to use data properly. Hotel wifi is reliable, and most malls and Metro stations have free wifi.

Q.Is Ras Al Khaimah or Sharjah worth adding as a second day trip?

Ans: Ras Al Khaimah is the better of the two. It is about 90 minutes from Dubai and gives you Jebel Jais, the tallest mountain in the UAE. Sharjah is 20 to 30 minutes out and stronger on museums, but it is a dry emirate with no alcohol served anywhere. Most couples adding a second day trip already have Abu Dhabi in the itinerary, so treat this as a seventh-night option.

Q.Are there hidden costs in Dubai that don't show up in tour package prices?

Ans: Yes, restaurant bills typically carry a municipality fee. Premium beach clubs charge entry fees of AED 40–150 and Uber surges 30–80 percent on weekends and during peak hours. Budget a buffer of ₹3,000–5,000 per couple for these day-to-day extras.
