Flagged off on the 3rd of October 2019 by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the new Vande Bharat Express train has been providing a smooth journey to passengers from New Delhi to Vaishno Devi, Katra, Jammu. It is the second Vande Bharat Express train, and the first one ran between Delhi and Varanasi. The first train for this route started on the 5th of Oct 2019. With the launch of this express train, the journey time between Delhi and Katra has been reduced by eight hours. It is one of the biggest gifts for Jammu & Kashmir’s state development and for promoting religious tourism. The initial timing of the New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express train is 6 am that departs from New Delhi to reach Katra at 2 PM. On the return journey, the train leaves Katra at 3 PM and reaches New Delhi Railways Station at 11 PM. The train that departs from New Delhi is numbered 22439 and the train that departs from Katra is numbered 22440. And to cool off and rest, one can book hotels in Delhi. It is important to note that the train plies all days of the week except Tuesdays. The train fares for New Delhi to Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Station are INR 1,630 (Minimum) and INR 3,014 (Maximum).
