IRCTC has come up with a new Tejas Express train for New Delhi to Lucknow route that will play all six days except Tuesdays. Or one can also plan a stay at hotels in Delhi. It is the first private train introduced by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Here’s more about the Tejas Express train:

Schedule

The initial timings announced by the Northern Railway is:

New Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express train is starting from 5th October 2019. However, the regular service of the Lucknow-New Delhi express is taking place from 6th October 2019.

This train consists of one executive AC chair car and nine AC chair car coaches. The stopover for this train is at Kanpur and Ghaziabad city en route in both the directions.

IRCTC has decided to follow a ‘flexi fare’ scheme for the Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express train. It will be INR 1,125 for AC Chair Car, INR 2,310 for executive chair car.

For New Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express, it will be priced at INR 1280 for AC chair car, INR 2450 for executive chair car.

If passengers have booked Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express train and it gets delay for over an hour, then they will get a remuneration of INR 100. Additionally, for a slow down of two hours and over, the passengers will get INR 250.

To avail the same, the travelers need to fill up a claim form with the insurance company available online or just dial a toll-free number to inform the same. You will have to fill up or tell the details of travel hours, delays timing, bank account details and PNR number. The insurance company will refund your money directly into the bank account.

There will be no reservation for Tatkal Ticket in the Tejas Express. However, it may announce in the near future.

Cancellation and Refund

If a traveler cancels the train ticket before 4 hours then there will be a deduction of INR 25 and the rest amount will be refunded online. For AC class passengers, there will be a deduction of INR 65 per passenger by Indian Railways.

If your ticket was in wait-listed and it is canceled by IRCTC due to the unavailability of seats in the train then, the full amount will be refunded.
