Trip to 4 Countries: Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Switzerland

Worth it - just go!

Never did I ever think I’d be visiting four countries in one day. What a unique tour this is! Verner was great - he’s an excellent driver and a wonderful conversationalist. We rode in a very comfortable Mercedes. Each of the four stops was unique. We had a delightful surprise at the tourist information center in Liechtenstein. In Austria, I highly recommend taking the optional cable car, as it’s worth the trip. Walking around the city of Lindau was lovely, and we enjoyed the boat ride at Rheinfalls, which reminded me of Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls! This was definitely an experience that I’m glad that we had, and it’s well worth it!

Worth it!

What could be better than visiting four countries in one day? Verner was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. (He asks some very good and insightful questions!) We traveled in a luxury spacious Mercedes. We had a quick tour of Liechtenstein, and had a delightful surprise when we got to the visitor center. Next was Austria, and I do recommend the cable car. Lindau was just a few minutes away, and we enjoyed a delightful lunch. And finally the falls and the enjoyable boat ride. It was a fabulous day and I’m so glad that we did it. Well worth the price!

Fun Day

We had a wonderful day with Verner. It is a full day but not taxing. We had a member of our party who has mobility issues and they were able to negotiate the day without incident. It is a unique experience and a great way to go if you are looking for a more intimate/personal experience!

It was a fantastic trip but unfortunately our money was stolen by theft

The private guide Paul is a very nice guy and punctual in picking us up at hotel way ahead of the scheduled timing. He shown his professionalism and explained various scenic locations to us. Those places that we visited were indeed very scenic. But unfortunately we discovered our money has been stolen by theft after our trip. So it was a mixed feeling for us.

Should give refund if not all activity is available.

We were not able to ride the cable car in Austria since it was closed. We were also not able to ride the boat at Rhine Falls since there were no boats on that day. Viator should have refunded us some money since we were not able to do a few things. . Viator should not have offered this trip. Other than that, Paul, our driver and tour guide was the best driver and best tour guide.

Excellent Private Tour

Michael was a wonderful tour guide, and this was an opportunity to have a very easygoing, personalized experience in several countries. Highly recommend booking this tour and any others offered by Best of Switzerland!

Highlight of the Trip!

The tour was amazing! Seeing Liechtenstein was a highlight! Our driver was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw so much and the Rhine is a beautiful place to see and experience!

Awesome 4-Country Tour

Wonderful trip to Lichtenstein, Austria, Germany and back to Rhein Falls in Switzerland. Our guide, Alex, and trainee Christiana, were both knowledgeable and friendly. They offered insight and awesome suggestions on where to eat, take pictures and see the sights.

Great tour/day trip from Zurich into 4 counties! Amazing experience

My guide was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. We had a great day touring Lichtenstein, bregens Austria, lindau Germany, and then stopped at the rhinefalls in Switzerland on the way back. He was relaxed , made time for shopping and food and was great conversation learning about some of the histories and attractions that we drove by and stopped at. I would highly recommend this tour- hope you get the same man. I was solo and it made for a great experience while solo traveling in Zurich!!

Not much content

A long day driving mostly on highway. The final stop at Rhein fall was the highlight. Was not a scheduled stop but our driver took us and we were very happy he did. Don’t really feel it was worth the $$$

Great tour to celebrate anniversary

We had Paul again and he was just fantastic Knowledgeable and helpful as we celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary. Very special

Fraud and Dishonest People

This is fraud and the company is absolutely horrible in resolving the dispute. They will gaslight you to make you feel like you are the bad person when they scammed you bad. Me being accommodating and compromising to their ridiculous requests will be used by them as proof of me agreeing to their dishonest conduct. Also, Viator will not be helpful in the dispute process. I submitted a refund request and all Viator asked from me is to check a box from its pre-made list and none accurately described my situation. Then, Viator would deny my refund request by just listening to the travel agency without even asking me a single question. My payment dispute is pending with my credit card company and I also filed a complaint with the Ombudsman of the Swiss Travel Industry. Here is what happened: I booked a private tour for up to two person for one day at the cost of over $ 1220. The description specifically says that it is a "private tour" which by definition means that I travel with people of my choice or myself. I was alone and I thought I’d pay for an expensive tour just so I don’t have to worry about anything as I had very limited time and was on my own. The tour was booked and confirmed for Saturday. Then came Friday, the tour organizer texted me and said that they didn’t have enough drivers and would ask me to join a three person group and would give me a refund of 180. At that point, I thought the tour fee was per person and I also assumed that this agency was honest and would not overcharge me for things I didn't get. I only had Saturday left for my activities and it would make it extremely difficult for me to find alternative things to do and so I said I could agree to join strangers if that was the only option. More importantly, when they first informed me of this change, the free cancellation period had already expired. If I cancelled, they would have charged the full amount. So, I had no choice but to agree to compromise no matter what I wanted. Also, as I was in a different country trying to have a good time, I wanted to be as accommodating as I could. After I said I would be open to be with others, they said they would check and get back to me and also said that they would work with me to get my departure COVID test as I told them that if I am going with others I’d like to be picked up last so I could get my already scheduled COVID test. They didn’t contact me and at late Friday night, I reached out and asked if my tour tomorrow was still going to happen. Then, they responded and said, yes and you will be in your one person private tour. However, when I woke up early Saturday morning, they texted me again and told me that I will be joining a three person group instead. At that point, I had no choice but to agree. The guide Paul was great and the other three people were wonderful. However, it became clear to me that the three of them paid a total of 1500 or something for their tour which covers up to 4 persons and at the same time, the tour company charged me alone for over 1000. In other words, the tour company cancelled my private tour and combined it with an existing tour but charged full price for both tours when only one tour took place. I requested for a partial refund as soon as I found out about this hoping that it was just an honest mistake on their part. Then, the company denied my request and claimed that they pay Viator a commission and therefore they don’t get the full amount I paid. They further claimed that they had to order a bigger card so we could be comfortable. Mind you, I paid 1200 for a day and I was sitting in the back of a car facing the wrong direction fighting neck pain caused by having to turn my head certain way. Also, I didn’t demand a bigger car. They had to just to get the number of people in. By their logic, any solo traveler who booked this trip and pay the full price for a "private tour" can simply be lumped into one car and they will be justified to charge over $3000 for one trip that is worth only $1,000 or so. This is simply wrong and dishonest. I am in shock of how dishonest a legitimate Zurich business can be and I am going to dispute the charge and report accordingly. I really hope this won't happen to anyone ever again.

VIP Experience

Pasho was SPECTACULAR. He was so wonderful and knowledgeable about everything, and just pleasant to converse with. Car was a fab Tesla. Very clean. The sights we saw were superb. I hope everyone gets Pasho as a guide. We had the best trip because of this experience.

5 stars for the guide, but this review includes some things to be aware of

We had a great day seeing 4 countries (ok bite-sized visits) in a day. We had a super tour guide called Pascho and he did the best to show us a good time and give us lots of information. What I would say on the negative side: the tour says 12 hours and at this time it is not a 12 hour tour. It is expensive for the time spent. And most of the places we visited where on “winter break” meaning most of the stores and restaurants were closed. I think Viator should keep this in mind and offer the dates of Feb/March (whenever the break is) at a lower price and suggest a shorter time line. It is a bit depressing to go to town after town and see everywhere boarded up for the break season. The other thing to keep in mind is that there was really only one lunch place suggested/selected and it was at 230 in Germany. I think this is because of the price and availability. But again 230 is later than most US/UK folks have lunch so it would be good to know this as one might not be ready to wait that long for a meal. The guide was very knowledgeable and had plenty of good tips about our other days in the vacation. He was kind in dealing with a health issue for one of the members of our party. Would we do it again? Probably but I am not sure.... This day was over $1600 without tip and the tour was about 9 am to 7 pm. Loved being in a private tour. Tesla was a fun car but not the Mercedes described in the detail so some might care about that. Again, the biggest negative was that 80% of what we saw was closed. Literally. Please keep that in mind when booking and ask about if the winter break is still in session.

Special Tour of Four Countries

We were picked up at Marriott Zurich in a Mercedes and treated to a wonderful 12 hours of sightseeing in four countries by a great young man and guide. This was a very special tour for two seniors. Michael was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Loved the historical sites , sidewalk cafes and shopping. Highly recommend this tour.

Einen unvergesslich schönen Tag

Alles war perfekt. Unser Fahrerreiseleiter Pascha war sehr pünktlich und höflich, das Auto war Tesla Model S - ein toller Service. Wir waren mit unseren Freunden in der Schweiz und buchten einen Ganztagesausflug nach Liechtenstein-Vaduz, Österreich - Bregenz, Deutschland – Lindau. Es war alles sehr gut organisiert, informiert und durchgeführt. Es war ein langer Tag, aber sehr erlebnisreich mit den verschiedenen Stationen. Höchst empfehlenswert.
