Great tour of Yogyakarta sites

We were planning to spend only two nights in Yogyakarta, so we were looking for a tour that would allow us to see the Borobdhur and Prabanan temples smoothly. We were very happy with our decision to choose this tour, as we had an even better tour experience than we hoped for! We did the sunrise tour, which involved a 4am pick-up at our hotel, a first stop on a mountain with a view of Borobdhur, a tour of Borobdhur, a Jeep tour of Merapi volcano, and a walk around Prabanan temples. There were also stops for breakfast and lunch, as well as a stop for the famous "poops coffee." Our favorite part was the tour of Borobdhur, as we enjoyed the architecture and guided tour. It was also interesting to learn about just how much volcanic activity shaped the history of the area. Adit was punctual, spoke great English, and communicated well, with smooth handoffs to our other tour guides. It was cloudy so we didn't get a clear sunrise, but Adit had given us good directions about waiting longer to catch the view, so we did end up catching a quick glimpse of the sun rising over Borobdhur. When Adit dropped us at the sites or for meals, he communicated clearly about where and when to find him afterwards and was always waiting for us as he described. There were several long drives over the course of the day, but they went by quickly as Adit told us about the history of the region and answered questions during those times. We would recommend this tour to our friends visiting the region.

Fantastic experience as a solo traveler

I had a fantastic experience on this tour and highly recommend it. My guide Hibza was wonderful. He's knowledgeable, fun and full of recommendations. I did this tour on my own so it was just me and the tour guide which was really nice. I got to move at my own pace and even add things that I wanted to do. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and supported so I highly recommend this to others. Thanks so much!

Something special that you shouldn’t miss

Great tour! Prambanan, Borobudur and Mandut monastery are definitely unforgettable places, and there were surprisingly not many tourists. Our tour was well-paced, allowing us a lot of time to appreciate each place. Our tour guide Thomas was very welcoming and patient in explaining everything about the temples. The lunch spot he took us to was great, too. Special shoutout to Thomas!

Amazing tour with Adit!

Absolutely amazing tour with our tour guide, Adit! He was so friendly and kind and gave us such good information about all the places we visited. He also told us many stories of his growing up here, which were extremely interesting. The visits were also very well planned, and we got to see everything that we wanted. Adit was even kind enough to stop by a luwak coffee place when we mentioned that we wanted to try some. Very kind and nice tour guide overall! Highly recommend for those short on time and want a hassle-free way to see all the major highlights!

A perfect tour to explore the tempels with a fun and flexible guide!

This tour is perfect for visiting the temples of Jogyarta! Our driver, Sigit, picked us up at the hotel at 7 am. Then we started with the Prambanan temple. A guide in the complex is not included in the price but is definitely recommended! After that, Sigit took us to a small coffee roastery, which was also definitely worth seeing! By then it was time for our lunch and Sigit took us to a restaurant where we could taste the local cuisine. The next stop was the Borobudur temple, a beautiful monument! Last we visited the Mendet temple. Sigit gave us regular explanations about the temples, the culture and also tips for where to spend our next days in Yogyakarta. Super interesting! Perfect arrangement for a fascinating day

A really fascinating trip and absolutely manageable to climb Borobudur and Prambanan the same day. If you’re here for the first time - it feels really surrealistic, fascinating …. Special Thank You to my driver Maxi he did a perfect job. Very safe and smooth driving throughout the crazy traffic while he was explaining a lot about the temples and Indonesia. While in Borobudur you need an official guide (included in the ticket), in Prambanan it is more individual. Here Maxi was my perfect guide and companion, teaching me about the entire Hindu goddesses and even staying until sunrise. What an amazing day!

Great guide, great day!

Our guide Adit was knowledgeable, friendly and told us many stories on our journeys to Borobudur and Prambanan temples. We had a great day out, 4am seems like an early start but it was definitely needed to enjoy the day!

This tour is wonderful. You can climb up the the top of Borobudur and enjoy the stunning view. The driver is a very nice gentleman. He tried to do his best to make us know the history of Prambalan.

Excellent Tour of Borodubur and Prambana!!

Coming to Indonesia, the Borobudur and Prambanan temples were on the top things on my list to see, which it did not dissapoint at all!! If anything at all, it exceeded my expectations! Asmaradhana Borobudur Tours did a great job. They had everything set up when they picked up me from my hotel in Yogyakarta in the morning at 7 am. My driver and guide Ery spoke great English and very friendly, which was really important as an American solo traveling in Indonesia. Ery was also very knowledgeable about the history of Prambana, Borobudur, and Yogykarta, which I learned a lot about the history and the culture of central Java. One highlight of the tour was they got me the tickets to climb the Borobudur temple, which only 1200 people a day can climb, which included a 1-hour tour with a guide that explains the history of Borobudur and the Buddha. Highly recommend!!

Unique choices of temples with iconic and comfortable experience

Hibza has made our experience so memorable, he took care of us so well, made us feel comfortable, and he provided us with historical knowledge of the temples and picked the best timing for us to visit. The three temples are so iconic, and we're glad that we visited two less travelled temples beside the Borobudur temple. Hibza surprised us with nice coffee and delights on the way. We are glad we become friends with Hibza.

We had a great time with Adit as our guide in Jogja! He was a good, safe driver and was very conversational, chatting with us throughout the drives. He was very knowledgeable about the city, the locals, traditions, history, etc. and we enjoyed learning LOTS from Adit. Borobudur, Merapi, Prambanan Tour

We did the Borobudu, Merapi, and Prambanan tour with Aditya and everything was great! Aditya was great to talk to and was an excellent guide, very informative of the sites and also of Indonesian culture. We also enjoyed a wonderful local lunch with him. I would highly recommend the company and Aditya!

A wonderful experience!

Dani gave us a wonderful trip to Borobudur and Prambanan Temples and two other temples. Such great historical information, took care of us at the paid entrances efficiently, and took time explaining sites along the way! Highly recommend him for a tour guide!

Exceptional experience with a top-tier guide

Our guide Widi was extremely knowledgeable and we were able to get the full history of the temples on the way there so we weren’t left wondering what to take note of or see. Widi was generous and very funny, answered so many of our questions and offered great recommendations. We actually ended up booking a Yogyakarta city tour the next day with Widi as our guide again. You’ll definitely have a great time with him! Thank you Widi!

An overall average experience.

An average experience, in our case the driver was just driving us around without any history or explanation of any monument or suggestions. We took umbrellas from hotel and kept them on front seat but driver dropped us and was least attentive to remind us, so we had to walk in scorching heat for hours. The quality of car was not that great, ac cooling was average and neither any bottles of water or cold wet wipes/towel were provided (This is not a problem but in general in all tours elsewhere in Bali, Thailand, Cambodia etc this is a norm). The worst part of the trip was the breakfast, the driver took us to a very shabby place for breakfast that was at least 4 times over priced than other similar places (which we realized after walking around ourselves later). Only plus was that tour company added one more stop as per our request at an additional cost. Overall it did not feel worth the money spent. There was hardly any experience but felt like we have hailed a driver from roadside and just have asked him to show us around. The same trip is available at Klook at 250+ for two people, it feels a bit of rip off spending 350+ on Viator. I believed Viator has better quality tours but this myth finally burst. Lesson learnt we should be taking hotel tour packages rather than relying blindly on Viator

Dani gave my friends and I a wonderful trip to Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple. He is so full of information and took the time to make sure we entered each location smoothly without delay. The guide was punctual, well appointed and knowledgeable while he drove me and my friend to our activities of the day: Borobudur, Mendut and Prambanan temples. Hibza went above and beyond to ensure that we made it to Borobudur on time to join the 11am temple entrance with the local, credited guide. Very nice and friendly, he also recommended a nice local place where to grab lunch in between the visits. Money very well spent, considering the price of the single entrance to each of the three temple compounds. At least you get a nice, comfortable ride across the region and all the tickets are included. We had a very enjoyable day. Terima kasih!!!

Amazing private tour!

The tour was as described and didn’t disappoint us in anyway. Adit was a great guide and explained all things in detail. He went out of his way to take us to a kopi luwak tasting place and also found us some cheaper souvenirs. Would highly recommended this tour!

A great tour with lovely Arma

We had the best time with our guide, Arma who picked up us right in time at our hotel in Yogyakarta and drove us to Borobudur, Prambanan and Mendut temples. Arma was full of interesting anecdotes about the history of the places we were visiting and always in great mood. He also took us to a great restaurant on the way as well as to a coffee place as we were curious about having the local variety. Would recommend 100%!

Stunning temples and a fun experience with an excellent guide.

This was an excellent trip, especially for me as a solo female traveller. Hizba, my guide, was kind, attentive and ensured I saw all the sights, showed me special camera angles and offered advice on how to best view the temples. The car was new, clean and Hizba drove well. I highly recommend this day trip, especially for travellers who are short on time.

This Viator adventure was...

This Viator adventure was a bit different than the others. There was no group; it was just me and my guide, Thomas. He did an excellent job as a guide. We made additional stops for coffee and food when I asked him. The temples were impressive.

Special!!

This private trip was a real highlight. Our guide Adit was amazing. He was friendly and welcoming to us. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about all of the history and faiths that make up this beautiful area and how everyone, and their stories, exist together. It would not have been the same enriching experience without his help. Adit guided us through Prambanan and the lesser visited but no less important Buddhist Mendut. At Borobudur, you join a group of about 10 people as this temple has its own guides but Adit was careful to ensure we got in safely and let us know what to expect and met us upon exiting. It was perfect and not to be missed if you’re interested in learning more about this beautiful country.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Adit was an AMAZING guide! Super attentive and accommodating, very friendly and informative, explaining a lot of things about Yogyakarta, the temples, the food, good places to eat, etc. He even went above and beyond and took us to a place that wasn’t in the itinerary and guided us through the temple. Dani is a very intelligent guide. He knows many stories about Buddhism and Hinduism. Especially the story of Rama and Sita is the most fascinating. Dani also took us a very good restaurant called Kali Opak. The food is very delicious. Great 1 day guided tour for first timers in Yogyakarta. This tour gives you a comprehensive view of the history of the area. in addition you get a great time visiting the slopes of fuming mount Merapi. The price includes access to all the activities, whilst ensuring that you get tickets - as some are limited to a certain daily quota. Adit our driver and guide, whose English was great, is super friendly and interesting, telling us more about the history of the place.

Spectacular sunrise and impressive temples

What a beautiful day guided by Aditya, he really made this trip special. His knowledge and friendly approach made our trip one of the best! The sunrise was incredible! 100% worth the wake up call, a true highlight and the temples are impressive! It’s a long day but you get real value for money with everything included, apart from Lunch, but we were taken to a yummy local restaurant which was delicious! 5 stars!

A great trip with a great guide. Adit was knowledgeable, funny and accommodating - we started the day with watching the sunrise, before visiting Borobodur. We requested some changes to the final part of our trip given that we had already visited Prambanan and Adit easily found an alternative for us to view the sunset from. Would fully recommend the trip!

A breathtaking experience

Had an amazing time on this tour. Borobodur and Prambanan was breathtaking and our driver Adit was friendly, informative and accommodating and suggested places for fabulous coffee and lunch that fitted with our schedule. This was a short break and will look to be back to explore more.

Weather dependent but great host

Adit was the best guide ever. Gave us many suggestions and was very friendly the whole trip. Would highly recommend the tour too had plenty of time to have breakfast and he recommended a very nice local food place for lunch. Tailored the day around what we preferred and change the itinerary for us. Was very weather dependent though was cloudy at sunrise but cleared up at 6:30am after the sunrise. Then was very cloudy for the volcano could not see anything. Enjoyable day regardless
