One day temple visits

The driver was kind and flexible to accommodate my tight schedule to visit temples, restaurant for lunch and drop me off at the international airport. I skipped the volcano part due to tight schedule. The entrance tickets of the temples were reserved in advance, so it was easy and quick to visit there. Thank you!

Gorgeous Temples and Volcano Views

Kick started our tour by visiting Prambanan temple compound. The main site was crowded, but we did get a chance to climb into one of the temples. The views from the top floors was spectacular. And the carvings were gorgeous. There are many temple sites within the same compound. Would strongly advise to bring sunblock and an umbrella as the sun is not to be trifled with. Pathways between temples can be long, but the walk was enjoyable, beautiful gardens and trees lined up these pathways. There are options for our tour guides and hiring buggies as well. We then moved on to Merapi where we hired a jeep to take us to see the volcano (subject to weather, it was very cloudy when we had gone however the view was still amazing) Depending on the package, your tour may also include a visit to an old bunker and museum, both a chilling reminder of nature's wrath. Finally we visited Borobudor, and as we got tickets to visit all the way to the top (while selecting tickets, you must choose an experience based on either architecture or history) we were blessed with rain. Needless to say, the entire experience was gorgeous, most of the crowds had gone by then and it felt like a VIP tour with just us and the tour guide explaining various carvings and the significance of the architecture. A huge shoutout to our guide Rio who organized this entire day trip for us. When we were pressed for time, he made sure we made it to the sites and got to experience these major highlights. He was always looking after our comfort, picking us and dropping us off to suit our convenience, offering us coconut juice, snake fruits to snack on and at the end, he took us to an amazing place for dinner. He also took us to have some Kopi Luwak so fulfil our caffeine dose for the day. The car he was driving us in was very comfortable, AC and water bottles equipped. We had an amazing day in Yogyakarta thanks to Rio. Got some amazing shots as well. Will definitely be in touch again, highly recommended tour!

Excellent days tour of temples plus

Contacted Rio for a bespoke one day tour taking in the temples and anything else he suggested that wasn’t too touristy. Rosemary had a bad leg so we didn’t want too much walking. The two temple complexes were amazing and well worth the visits. Rio was a really good guide with lots of local knowledge, gsh and a good safe driver. Included a coconut sugar farm which due to Ramadan had shut early but the lady gave us a small sample to take away. Additional temples that had been previously buried by ash. Really nice Batik studio where we found our signature piece for Indonesia. Lunch and a lawak coffee shop. Rio was concerned that we had seen enough for the day which was over ten hours. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Saw old Temples and learned about Yogykarta

Wedha as a top notch tour guide. Wonderful English speaking ability but more importantly, easy to talk to and so much knowledge of general culture and history he can share when you ask. This adds to the tour and experience. Sites were amazing. Wedha and his company did save us with site ticket issues we had. Be ready for some incredible views. Do advise a big breakfast, lunch was on the later side. Great location and food but can be after 2pm. We did not see the volcano but that is mother nature for you.

Great experience!

The temples were amazing and Rio went above and beyond as a tour guide. He took me to some other places of exactly what I was looking for. We only didn't have enough time to see batik, but he even offered to take me early the next morning before I had to catch my train. Rio is also very knowledgeable about the area and provided a lot of interesting information about the area. The only disappointment I had was the name of the tour, which says "Merapi Lava Tour". I didn't get to see Merapi or lava. It was no fault of Rio since only Jeeps are allowed to the peak, but the name of the tour is a little misleading. I was really excited to see Merapi since it's the most active volcano in Indonesia and was bummed to not even get to see it from afar.

Great temples...

Our tour was just Prambanan and Borobudur but we enjoyed it very much. Our driver Wedha was great. He assisted us all the way. He speaks good English that we had a good conversation. Both temples are great! I can recommend this tour.

1 Day trip in Jogja

We enjoyed the service provided by Wedha. He is well organised and very punctual. He speaks good English and willing to share his knowledge about Jogja. Most importantly, he is a safe driver.

Wonderful places to visit

The trip was great. The car was very comfortable and Kadek, the driver, was very nice and polite. We were really quick in visiting some temples as it was a hot day so he was kind and offered us to go to different places. The tour was organised and we enjoyed our time. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience, superb hospitality

Had an amazing experience and I would highly recommend them. Our driver Kadek made our day very comfortable. He is a very nice and hospitable person and took very good care of us. The prices are also very reasonable. The booking experience was also smooth, we booked over WhatsApp with zero hassle.

Solo tour to the temples

Viewing the temples is a mesmerising experience that has to be done when visiting Java. I had a great time with Wedha, who drove me to each destination. He was very friendly and talkative. Unfortunately we could not visit merapi volcano because the weather was too overcast and we wouldn't be able to see it. However Wedha adjusted the itinerary and took me to another temple near the Prambanan complex. I had a great experience and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the price of the entrance fees for each destination aren't clearly listed on TripAdvisor. This means that the price overall is a fair bit more expensive than the listing price on TripAdvisor. Also in Borobudur, I would have liked a little bit more time to explore the temple, it felt a little rushed but I understand they want to allow more visitors despite there being a maximum capacity of people allowed into the temple at one time. I was also very happy with my tour guide in Prambanan. He was very knowledgeable and told the whole story of the complex with no hesitations, stopping to take my photo regularly. I then got to explore the complex for as long as I wanted. To conclude, I would definitely recommend this tour, just make sure you bring enough cash to pay for the entrance fees, and if you can, ask for Wedha to be your guide as he is the man for the job.

Borobudur/Prambanan tour

Amazing tour. We were well taken care of by Rio, our driver/guide, and Budi, our personal guide at Borobudur temple. Rio was very efficient, and arranged the itinerary, tickets, personal guides very well. He is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Budi was our personal guide at Borobudur. He was a unique person, knowledgeable, funny, enthusiastic, witty. I also want to commend our personal guide at Prambanan (forgot his full name). Everybody was marvellous. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Will recommend Rio (Javanese Vacation) to anybody else in a heartbeat.

Amazing and VERY SAFE weekend

We did 2 tours with Wedha, one temples and another ones 2 caves tour during this weekend, and it was AMAZING. Wedha is very patient person and can accomodate all you requests. He knew the city very well, could give tips and recommendations for anything, also for another cities. I have asked for recommendations in Bali as it is my next destination and he could advise a lot of things to do and places to stay. Also he knows hidden gems of city (a tip: ask him to take you luwak coffee place). He took us to good restaurants with nice food and not overpriced. He helped to get all the tickets and gave info in every place. Very friendly and patient person. Lastly and most importantly, he drives VERY SAFE, it is very important because you can expect anything from drivers in Indonesia, but with Wedha we were feeling super safe, he was never speeding or doing dangereous movements. The car is also very new and comfortable. Definetely a recommendation. One more tip: book direcly from tour company. Google their name and contact via wp. You get much better price ;)

Excellent

Great day today with Rio as our guide. He speaks good English and our trip was so much better for his explanations of the local area and the Indonesian history and culture. The added extras were: Rio could get the best tickets, such as being able to climb to the top of Borabodur . He took us through the villages and explained the local crops. Rio bought and introduced us to some new tropical fruits. The car was cool and comfortable and Rio's driving was careful. Unfortunately the volcano was in cloud, but that is just the time of year.

One of the best days of the whole trip!

This trip was amazing! Our driver Rio was super nice and catered the experience to our likes. We were only in Yogyakarta for roughly 24 hours so he spent the entire day showing us the must-sees of the area. He even spent the evening trying to find us some fruit that we’ve trying to find for years! He was extremely friendly, fun and a great presence to spend a day with. Highly recommend Rio!!

Can't recommend enough! The owner was easily contactable via WhatsApp and managed to get me a driver at such short notice to visit Borobudur Temple. Wahyu was the name of my driver and he was such great company and I had great conversations in the car with him. He literally made everything so easy for me and then also went above and beyond in spending over 2 hours helping me to sort my train the next evening to Malang. Nothing was too much trouble and was happy to drop me off at a different location to which he picked me up. Thank you so so much!

Stunning Temples and active Volcano

We (german couple, 32&29) went on the day trip to Borodur, Merapi and Prambanan with Ardi. He picked us up at 7am in front of our hotel and we started the day at Prambanan. The temple itself was fascinating and and impressive. We were also stunned by the beautiful and vast park surrounding the temple area. The next acitivity was the Merapi Lava Tour. Here we could choose between a 90min, 120 and 150min Jeep Tour with a local guide. We decided on the 90min one which included view points and photo stops (for example alien rock, a huge lava boulder that resembles a human face), a bunker and a museum depicting the different outbreaks of Merapi. We were surprised to learn how active Merapi is. The Jeep ride itself was absolute fun, we enjoyed the scenery and the bumpy road. Our local guide and jeep driver was lovely and informative. The view of Merapi was absolutely great at all times and angles, we even got to see lava running down on side. Afterwards Ardi took us to a local coffee roastery that produces and sells the javanese Luwak coffee, which is made from coffee beans that were digested by wildcats. The fermentation produces a less bitter, less sour taste and the coffee has less coffeine. Before we tried the coffee the employees showed us the different production steps. After the coffee break it was time for lunch, which was also very tasty. Ardi was a great guide throughout the entire day, he was nice and helpful, answered our questions and even took us to see the Chicken Church, which we requested even though it wasn't part of the original plan. Our last stop of the day was Borobudur, the largest buddhist temple in the world. The temple was super impressive and definitely worth the visit. The entrance fee is quite high but it makes sense considering the costs for upkeep of the temple as well as the surrounding facilities and the people working there. Visitors are split into groups each with their own local guide. Ours was funny, open to answering all of our questions and gave us a lot of interesting information about buddhism and the temple. There were quite of lot of people so it was hard to get a picture without strangers in it but it was doable. Also there a quite a few steps to climb to the top of the temple but there a lot of places to rest on the way. The way back to the parking lot after exploring the temple was kind of long especially because you have to walk past a lot of food and souvenir shops. To sum up, we had a great day with Ardi, the temples were both absolutely special and impressive and definitely a must see if you're in the area. Merapi was also surprisingly great and we wouldn't want to have missed it.

A perfect experience

A day filled with the outstanding monuments Borobudur and Prambanan, an insight into two religions, Javanese history and the impressive volcano Merapi. The jeep tour is a great distraction from all the historical details. Our driver Wedha brought us in smooth and safe driving mode to all places, providing us with insights about today’s life and made the day a perfect experience.

A must-do high value for money tour in Yogyakarta

First of all the tour is great. You don’t have to think about anything practical and the driver is always ready. Highly recommend the tour in general. Worth the money! High value! It fulfilled our expectations and the stuff you do on this trip is a must do if you’re in Yogyakarta. Our guide, Ardi, was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a lot of fun. He was always ready to help and guide us. He even bought us snake fruit out of his own pocket, which didn’t taste good for Europeans ;)

Worthwhile experience!

The tour was fantastic! Definitely worth considering when travelling to Jogjakarta. Our tour guide Rio really tied the sightseeing trip to the Prambanan and Borobudur temples together, with a good recommendation for the lunch location. In addition, the recommendations and tips given by Rio really helped us out during our time in Indonesia! All in all, we could recommend this trip.

Amazing day tour in Yogyakarta

Rio was the best tour guide I’ve had. He went above and beyond to make the day very special and memorable. Extremely helpful and friendly driver and memorable trip!

Our tour guide Satrio always went over and beyond for our enjoyment and comfort. He was enthusiastic throughout, super knowledgeable and very friendly. He helped us so much beyond just being our tour guide for the trip, and showed us places in Jogja that were out of the itinerary. As a result, our trip was extra memorable and fun. In terms of the tour itself, all parts were fun, but Prambanan temple especially was surprisingly super fun - parts of the Sewu temple are absolutely huge and yet theres no one around! Not even staff/ security ppl! We really felt like explorers who found a lost land. So underrated as a location. Do note though, since entrance fees are not included and can change (from day to day according to our tour guide) it can get unexpectedly expensive (entrance fees to Borobudur and Prambanan came up to around U$30 ish? And the Merapi lava tour was around $US35) but still worth it in my opinion. That’s no fault of the tour operator though - still would highly recommend this tour operator and tour

Great day in jogja

Had a great day with Rio who is very knowledgeable and keen to give the best experience. He changed the order of the itinerary so that we got the best views of merpati, stopped at nice coffee places and gave us the opportunity to see several other temples on the way. He also stopped briefly to show us how snake fruit grows and kindly gave us a bag full. The tour is quite flexible as it does not include the tickets to the temples so adjustments can be made on the day. Rio knew so much about Indonesian history and culture but also was able to recommend a great guide at prambanan. He also gave us recommendations for things to do and restaurants for the rest of our holiday.

The temples are simply magnificent

We had only one day in Jogyakarta so this tour fits nicely to our schedule. The driver was professional and gave us lots of information about the temples and life in Jogyakarta. Shout out to our driver Wisnu and coordinator Wedha for making our trip memorable!
