The Yarra Valley is a beautiful natural setting and the vinyards and their facilities are beautifully laid out and pleasant settings to try out a mind-boggling assortment of wines. The Chocolaterie is an experience in itself (though starting the day with chocolate might be a shock to the system for some). All in all, a friendly multi-national group of fellow-travellers, a knowledgeable driver and guide, and probably too much wine in one day, made for a very enjoyable tour.

Great guide. Very knowledgeable about the area. Loved the winers with lots of different kinds of wine.

Good experience

Shane was an excellent guide, made our trip so much more comfortable and fun, he made sure we were comfortable at all times. Covered beautiful wineries. And he kept all of us engaging. Highly recommended this.

Discover the wonders of Yarra Valley

We had a fantastic experience with Maj touring the Yarra Valley. Each winery we visited had its own story, distinct identity and atmosphere with a unique wine tasting experiece. Definitely a memorable and worthwhile part of our journey through in Melbourne. Lots of great photo opportunities too!

Started well but overall disappointed

This tour started off well but became disappointing later in the day. Initially my friends and I were happy with the prompt transport pick up and an enjoyable chocolate tasting experience. The first wine tasting experience (St Hubert’s) was at a sit-down table with the rest of the group and provided a great experience with information given about each wine. Unfortunately following the lunch break was when things took a downturn. On arrival at the second winery (Medhurst) we were told that it was a busy day and therefore the wine tasting was set up at the bar ledge, which the 18 of us in the group could not fit around. The actual information about each wine and the wines themselves were excellent but the tasting experience was dampened by the set up of us all standing in close proximity - particularly as we were the only group in a room with empty seats and tables. The final winery (Fergusson) was a failure - we were rushed out of our second winery by our tour guide to drive 30 minutes towards Fergusson’s and when we arrived they were not expecting us. Nobody greeted us from the winery, we were all bunched together at the entrance stood up and eventually a member of staff appeared with wine. However no list was shared of the wines being tasted, no names of the wines were called out resulting in us not knowing what we were drinking and people missing out on tasting samples. No information was given about the origin/creation of the wines at this winery. Overall it was a poor tasting experience and not at all “premium” as suggested in the itinerary, making it highly unlikely for someone to purchase from this winery. I am understanding that wineries can be very busy and therefore the last one may not have been prepared for our arrival but it was more disappointing that our tour guide did not acknowledge or apologise about the failed experience here. Furthermore this tour is expensive and given our experience we felt it was overpriced.

Great day out in the Yarra Valley!

I had a great day. Shane provided a good overview of the Yarra Valley and the history and happenings of each venue we visited. He was engaging and entertaining. More time at the chocolaterie would have been nice.

Loved the tour in general, Shane was absolutely amazing. However one winery was a bit rushed, which was a shame cause it was the most informatyce tasting. All in all great experience!

Great day out

Tour guide was friendly, and the places we went were great. It was a fun group of people on the bus too which is always a bonus.

Great experience

What a great experience especially our tour guide Maj. Very punctual and explained things along the way. Chocolate tour was amazing they were very informative and so many tastings. Wineries were good except for one Boat o' Craigo it was as though they couldn't be bothered and quite rude asked to try a wine and was told not on the trying list so we didn't bother buying any wine , didn't make us feel welcome at all. Tried Fergusson wine very accomadating and nice wine bought quite a few bottles. All in all a good day except for Boat O'Craigo.

The tour guide was very friendly. Nice selection of wineries. The Yarra valley chocolaterie was a good start of the tour.

Great value!

Our tour guide Craig was awesome and very knowledgeable about the area and history of Melbourne. Loved the wine tasting and the ease of getting around. Would highly recommend!

Not what was expected

A bit disappointing. The first small issue was that the road was closed due to roadworks so we were already behind schedule. These things happen but maybe a check beforehand? We visited the chocolate factory first but the driver was already moving us along to get to our next stop which was St Hubert’s. We tasted the wines there but again it felt rushed as even the servers were saying they needed to go quicker as we were on a tight schedule. We all got back on the bus to go for lunch at Healesville but then that’s when the main event came, the bus wouldn’t start so we all got off again and in the end it was decided that we would have lunch at St Hubert’s. A little over an hour later we were back on the road and managed to get to two more wineries but looking at the tour description we didn’t have cider tastings and didn’t have local produce samples. The majority of the group were also looking forward to going to Four Pillars during our free time at Healesville however due to the bus breakdown we didn’t get to do that. The group were great but the day needed up a disappointment

Fun with chocolates and wine

Pete, our driver was fun snd knowledgeable. At the Chocolate factory and each winery we were met with lovely people who shared their passion with us. Its s great idea to have free time in Healesville for lunch. I have done a few tours and this was my favourite. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful Yarra Valley.

The tastings at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, wine tastings at St Hubert's and Medhurst were excellent. It would have been good to visit a place for a produce experience rather than the 3rd winery. The weather was beautiful and the Yarra Valley was green and lush, so wonderful for the occasional photo!

yarra valley's landscape is very amazing view! If you hope so, driver may stop bus to take landscape photo.

Great way to see a bit of the Yarra Valley and taste some of its offerings

Generally an enjoyable experience - easy going driver/guide Shane, comfortable clean bus, two lovely wine tasting experiences, good choccy tasting and lunch stop. The middle wine tasting wasn't great - could have happily skipped that one - rushed, wine not that great. And missing out on a general produce tasting (cheese?) because company was ready was a tiny bit disappointing. Overall a good day and I'd do it again, minus one vineyard :D

Fun day in the Yarra

Do yourselves a favour and book this tour, had a fabulous day. Our tour guide Troy was great and we all enjoyed a relaxed and fun filled day. All the cellar doors were welcoming and very friendly. Well worth it. Cheers @autopiatours

Amazing tour with amazing host Troy!

I have to say me and my mum enjoyed this tour thoroughly! On a lovely bright Sunday, we toured through a local produce store, a chocolaterie and ice creamery, a beer and cider House and two wineries, one hell of a day that had everyone on the bus home napping on the trip back to Melbourne centre. If you get to try the hot chocolate at the chocolaterie you 100% should! There were about 10 of us on the tour and our host Troy was lovely and talkative and he definitely made the trip that bit better for us, disappointed that we lost the game of petanque but the winners were fully deserving of that bottle of wine😂. Book this trip if you can!

A wonderful day out in the valley

The Yarra valley wine tour was amazing, having just a small group made it very easy to talk to everyone on the trip. Our tour guide David made sure everyone was introduced and by the end of the tour (and a few wines) we were all firm friends. The choice of wineries was perfect, small boutique places we hadn't previously visited. Lunch was very tasty, and the view was perfect.

Not what I paid for-fraud!

Very disappointing Discover the Yarra valley wine tour. The guide Charlie was very entertaining, but we felt very rushed. Although we purchased the tour with 3 wineries, we visited only 2, the 7 wines we got to try in them amounted to a smaller amount that I swish in my mouth when I gargle the mouthwash! The “ wine tastings” lasted like 3 and a half minutes in total. The wine quality was very poor, they just gave us the cheapest plonk in the house. The chocolate tasting was a sham, there were 3 piles of chocolate chips and we were told to help ourselves to them, pathetic. No cooler on board the bus for our buys- we did get the cider and some fruit which was the best part of the tour. Did not like the lunch either, they ruined two pieces of salmon and beef with terribly sweet and strange sauces. Not at all a good value for money for 139$ that we paid, it was a rip off and I suggest you rent a car and do it yourself.
