An absolutely amazing tour. Beatrix Potters House is so beautiful with original features. Seeing where she wrote her books and garden outside with the most spectacular views. It’s a feeling that I can’t describe but highly recommended ☺️

Informative Beatrix Potter tour

Tim took us on a very informative tour where my daughter and I learned many things about Beatrix Potter that we didn’t know. I especially loved seeing the real places that Beatrix drew in her books.

So much packed in to a half day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Beatrix Potter’s countryside tour. Our driver (apologies - we can’t remember his name!) was welcoming, friendly, very knowledgeable and spoke very clearly at all times. We were amazed at how much was packed into a half day tour: it actually felt like we were out for a whole day. We had just the right amount of time to spend at the places where we stopped. Well worth the cost!

Hilltop

While I was not able to attend the tour (my mistake), I carried on to Hilltop for my paid tour. While I was advised that my ticket was void, I showed up and discussed the matter with Hilltop’s lovely staff. They felt I should not have to pay twice and informed me to contact the Mountain Goat. I hope you are able to receive this message. I am the “third” mountain goat to have visited this site on the expected day. 6/4/24 11:50. Beatrix Potter half day Lake tour

Everything was perfect, I love the countryside the sweeping hills and I guess my favourite part was Hill Top I had read somewhere they were closed on Fridays so it was just a huge bonus that it was open. The driver was awesome very knowledgeable had a knack of telling stories and giving information about other buildings when asked. All in all made my trip to the lakes very memorable.

Had a fantastic day, Excellent guide unfortunately I didn't get her name,she was knowledgeable about the landscape and history.The tour was the best part of our holiday.

Beatrix Potter Tour

Excellent tour with Tim who was very knowledgeable, attentive and considerate. There were only 4 of us on the tour and he had time for all of us explaining what we were going to do. Two of the tourists were Japanese and he was able to speak to them for little bits in Japanese very impressed. Saw all the places that were relevant to the lady herself. Tour time was just about right, but perhaps would have to have a look around Wray Castle.

Amazing tour!

This is the second time I’ve used Mountain goat tours to see the Lakes and I love your service. My sister and I had so much fun learning about Beatrix Potter with our tour guide, Tim. Always so lovely and making us laugh. Tim was the G.O.A.T!!!

Fabulous!

Excellent tour! The weather was perfect, and visiting Beatrix Potter’s house was fabulous. I did this as a day trip from London and arrived in Bowness-on-Windermere early to also visit The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction on my own time. Highly recommend that as well if you are a fan of Peter Rabbit.

MG Half Day Beatrix Potter Tour

Our half day B Potter tour was excellent and the Driver Tim made it a very enjoyable afternoon. We travelled with our friend from Malaysia.

This trip was amazing. The information provided during the drive around was great. Tim told us what we needed to know and more. He made sure we arrived at the house and cruise in plenty of time. He was willing to answer any questions. Plenty of places for photos and time to view our visits The trip was made even better because there were only 5 of us so more of a personal trip Thanks Tim

Amazing day in the Lake District

Our driver, Tim, did an amazing job of keeping us on schedule during lengthy road work. He was knowledgeable about the sites we visited and the beautiful Lake District. Even adding a photo stop that provided an unmatched view of the fells.

Well worth the money

Excellent tour, good pace and guide very knowledgeable. Being in a small group was a bonus. Beatrix Potters house was the highlight of the tour

Pleased to visit Hill Top.

The tour was lovely. Due to our deafness we missed out a lot of valuable information. The driver has kindly given us his notes to read but it was difficult to read and see the places at the same time. Maybe should have a concession for the disabled people.

This is the way to go

Between my wife and I we went on 4 tours with Mountain Goat,each was unique. The drivers Elliot, Mark and Sherri we informative and injected their own perspective into the tours. Just to navigate those narrow lanes and mountain passes is quite a skill in itself. We highly recommend using the Goat

I really enjoyed this tour with driver-guide, Gerry. He was delighted to share his extensive knowledge about Beatrix Potter and her legacy in helping to conserve the Lake District. I learned so much and gained a deeper appreciation of her many accomplishments! Combined with beautiful scenery and interesting stops, this all made for a very engaging afternoon!

Pleasant Beatrix Potter tour

Very nice tour with Peter to Beatrix Potter sites. Peter is a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. He was very accommodating in helping us get additional admission tickets. This made the trip much more special. We recommend this tour to cover a lot of ground in a short half day.

Lake District is Breathtaking

Hill House was magical. Our driver, Peter, was fantastic and knowledgeable. Lake cruise was fine but not necrssary.

A scenic half day tour peeking into the life of Beatrix Potter’s personal life and farm.

We thoroughly enjoyed our half day trip to visit Hill Top- Beatrix Potter’s Farm and we paid extra to go through the family home. The staff were very helpful and quite knowledgable about her life. The countryside views were beautiful and we stopped at Hawkshead to eat lunch (went to the Honey Pot- very good sandwiches there) and see the school that Wordsworth attended. There are cute little shops to buy things of interest. You can even buy the famous gingerbread at this location. We went to Amberside to get on a Ferry and ride it back to Bowness, where the official tour ends. Our tour guide Peter was very nice and accommodating and his knowledge of the Lake District is vast!!

A great afternoon exploring a lovely part of the lakes. Our driver Peter was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information and interesting facts. Comfortable minibus and good to travel in a small group. Would highly recommend.

Great way to experience the Lake District!

We spent a great half day tour around the Lake District with Peter from Mountain Goat Tours. The scenery was beautiful and we learned so much about the area and how Beatrix Potter came to live there. It was my niece's favorite part of our whole vacation!

We were on the Hill Top and visited Beatrix Potter house and garden. We went to the Wray Castle with a beautiful view on the lake and hills. We had free time in the Windermere village ,so we choose to visit a church,the Helen's chocolates shop and the Beatrix Potter gift shop. We were lucky because the sun often peeked out from behind the clouds.It wasn't raining or windy so the views on the Hawkshead were also breathtaking. At the end we also sailed on the boat,taking in the picturesque landscapes. Thank you very much.The trip worth money.I highly recommended it.By the way I received this trip from my son and daughter as a birthday gift.This is one of those priceless gifts for me that has been engraved in my heart forever.Thank you .

Beatrix Potter day

Great day in the country. Graham was very nice, knowledgeable about the landscape and history of the area and buildings. The coach was an older model so the air conditioning was not working and it was rather warm.

A pleasant way to sightsee

This is absolutely a pleasant way to sightsee the area, especially since I didn’t have a car. The driver was fairly knowledgeable (although maybe not a Beatrix Potter expert) and he was friendly and seemed very helpful to others in the group. I would do another tour with Mountain Goat. That being said do know that this half day tour was VERY fast paced. A few minutes at Wray castle. Less than an hour at Hill Top. And for some that might be a good pace. I would have liked just slightly slower of a pace or I wish they would put Hill Top on a full day tour itinerary. Lots of driving around the countryside. But just looking from bus windows quite a bit.

Our guide was so informative, we were impressed. A competent driver, friendly. Loved the trip.

My husband & I had the best afternoon on this Beatrix Potter Half Day Lake District tour. Our tour guide Peter was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, easy to talk to and good fun. Such interesting commentary. We would highly recommended this tour, it was great value for money.

brilliant tour…

a brilliant tour from start to finish…our driver and tour guide was Peter Fox…he was friendly and his knowledge was 1st class…he explained everything that we needed to know and made everything perfectly clear with timings etc. Beatrix Potters house and gardens were as described and the other places we stopped at were beautiful settings..the cruise at the end was only spoilt by bad weather but was thoroughly enjoyed…a perfect day..highly recommended…

A tour to remember…

Our tour guide, Dave, was so knowledgable about Beatrix Potter, and the Lake District in general. A fun tour guide, he brought the whole tour to life. We visited Hill Top, which was amazing, Wray Castle, Tarn Hows; Hawkshead with time to eat and shop; and ended with a wonderful cruise from Ambleside to Bowness. A tour to remember. Thank you Dave!

The guides are what make any tour the most enjoyable and this guide was exceptional...knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. We were in good hands. The scenery was stunning. The stops were well-timed. Tons of great Beatrix Potter sites. Highly recommend.
