Very Touristy

If you are a sympathy goer … I would recommend taking a pass … very “touristy” … Conductor has audience clapping like you are at a folk concert 😳…. people are taking pictures (even after being very clearly not do so) …. people chatting during the actual performance…. and the Ushers do NOTHING to put a stop to the distributions …. having said this, if you are not a sympathy goer and just want to say you want to a sympathy in Vienna …. go … but this is not appropriate conduct for the sympathy and very disappointing for me ☹️…

Great night in Vienna

Great performance by all. The singers, conductor and orchestra. The costumes were on point and made the evening more fun.

Music brilliant, seating rubbish

I book Category A-seating the, second best of 4 Categories. What a joke! We were on the balcony on the side of the stage so could only see half the stage from directly above. The only worst seats could be if you were sitting in a cupboard! If you insist on booking this activity reserve either the best or the worst seating as mid range they just shove you wherever there is a free seat. Having said that the music was extraordinary- top musicians, so l just closed my eyes and forgot about the costumes.

Great music, we really enjoyed the concert. It was a real pleasure to hear Mozart's music in Vienna. The concert closed with a Stauss waltz, The Blue Danube. What a treat.

A must while in Vienna

Such a great concert, beautiful building and music. Conductor was professional but also the interaction with the audience was so good.

I paid for tickets first...

I paid for tickets first Class 99 dlls each and the theatre gave us Seats at the3th floor on the side.

Where is the spark?

My main gripe with this concert is that they charge as much, if not more, than a mainstream full size orchestra (either local such as the VPO, VSO, Tonkünstler or a world renowned visiting orchestra). The latter are some of the world’s finest musicians playing fresh repertoire every few days whereas the Mozart Orchestra pretty much play the same repertoire night after night after night. I’m afraid performances then become rather routine and “dialled in”. There is no justification therefore for the high prices!

Great experience! Worth the money Initially we were allocated a very restricted area “ A “so I had to complain and was upgraded downstairs who h was much better.

Fantastic concert, brought us pure joy, and the opera singers were magnificent, their performance brought tears., we highly recommend the concert!

All the Mozart favorites plus a female soprano and male alto. Very high quality, outstanding acoustics, stunning venue, and even some fun audience participation. The musicians and vocalists were dedicated, talented, and enjoying themselves. Highly recommend; this was a highlight of my visit to Vienna.

Outstanding evening of professional entertainment in Braums Hall Musickverein. Both the costumed orchestra and the male and female soloists performed with a high degree of talent. A must do and see in Vienna. Be aware that the performance is not in the hall pictured on Viator website, but in a much less elaborate but still nice hall. There are multiple performance halls in the large Musikverein and more than one concert going on in the same evening.

Fun musical evening

Yes, this is a tourist trap, but it was nonetheless a fun evening. The players and singers were competent, if not outstanding. The only really strange element for us was being forced to leave our coats at the cloakroom!

Great concert but cloakroom organisation is a disaster

The concert was great but dealing with the cloakrooms was a headache. Know that leaving your jacket or backpack outside the concert hall is mandatory and isn't free, which isn't a problem in itself but could be mentioned somewhere when booking. What's annoying is that only one cloakroom takes card, and they don't tell you that when you're waiting in line. We waited for half an hour at one cloakroom, then they told us to go to another one that took card, where we had to wait another 20 minutes. We barely got to our seats before the concert started, even though we were there an hour prior. My advice: Get there early and try not to bring a jacket or backpack.

Overpriced for that short concert

We were visiting from the USA and looked forward to experienced a classical concert in the beautiful Golden Hall of the Musikverein. I was first irritated because the whole hall was lit up during the concert and then I couldn’t believe that the concert was over after 45 minutes. We paid 99 Euro for a ticket and I was literally shocked. I reread the webpage and it is never mentioned that the concert only lasts for 45 minutes. It felt like a real tourist trap. Very disappointing. I have never been to a classical concert that short. I can’t recommend this concert here. Go and spent your hard earned money somewhere else for a better experience. Vienna disappointed here in that way. So sad.

Well worth experience.

Loved the music, the venue, easy to find. Need to get there early to change voucher to ticket - but this was all pretty straight forward.

Amazing performance. The audience was engaged throughout, great orchestra and excellent conductor ? Beautiful music and costumes. Intimate location that allows you to really feel the experience.

Great performance, terrible seat

The most memorable part was that I had one of the worst seats in the theater.The performances were marvelous but I only saw the back of the violinists and mostly heard the violinists and the horns. During the arias half the time the conductor blocked me from seeing. I have been to many theaters before and this is the first one that considered second row against the wall to be a premium seat. For the price of the tickets I think I deserved to be able to hear and see the entire orchestra.

The orchestra was outstanding, and the conductor had the audience participation in some well-known pieces, which made it even more enjoyable.

Fantastic evening. There is a mix of patrons from well dressed concert goers to off-the-street tourists. Would recommend at least group B tickets for a much better experience. The opera singers were very talented. A fantastic evening all in all.

Fabulous Traditional Music event

Fabulous evening. Great music and singing. Pick your tickets up in advance day before or on the same day from the separate ticket office in a different location as advised to on the booking. Can be easy to miss but it assigns yoy actual seats and actual ticket. Very busy and risk not a good seat otherwise.

Great music in a great hall, a must go for music lovers

Great experience, excellent hall, wonderful orchestra and singers! The golden hall is the best musical hall we have been. The program is a mix of concerto and opera which is easy and nice to listen to.

Extraordinary

We stayed a week in Vienna, and this concert was the BEST of the week!! Magnificent concert hall, very good sound (excellent acoustics), and musicians and singers in period dress! A “must” to do during your visits to Vienna !! We are looking forward to our next visit to Vienna and will return with pleasure

Fun & Impressive

Fun and exciting concert! Enjoyed the orchestra performance of Mozart music! Highly Recommended! Easy to get to the music hall.

Talented musicians, umcomfortable venue

Nice set list with mix of opera, strings and whole orchestra music. Some musicians looked very bored! We sat in the balcony and the seats had very limited legroom and were quite uncomfortable as you had to lean forward to see anything. Quite an expensive evening (£60 each from Vienna premium tickets .com) and no bar at the venue so couldn’t even have a pre theatre drink / any water at the interval. No dresscode but can’t bring coats in yet they charge for the cloakroom.

Great musicians and rmusic selections! But the audience could use a few etiquette lessons.

I'd love to give this 5 stars, because the musicianship is top-notch. The first chair violinist was superb, the singers great - everyone first class. Unfortunately two things spoiled it for me. First, during the performance, the lighting wasn't dimmed at all. I realize they want to show off the hall and costumes, but stage lights are fine for musicians, and we all saw the hall before the show. The second and touchier subject is that multiple audience members talked during the show, including the 4 people behind me. I did a "shhhh" but that didn't work. I told the ushers during intermission, and they said there was nothing they can do because they don't enter the hall during the performance so as to not disrupt. I realize that's a fine line, but there should be at least one usher in the hall to observe if people are talking during the show.

An amazing musical evening to savour.

What an amazing evening. Incredible music, great performers, wonderful surroundings. Vienna is a fantastic city and our evening at this Mozart concert was a real highlight. The memory of this evening will last with us both for a very long time.

Just a wonderful and fun evening!

The venue is just amazing. Everyone at the theater was extremely nice. The concert was beautiful and they even added some opera singers. The costumes were also fun and all of the musicians and the conductor were lively and entertaining. Never expected it to be so good!

Another bait and switch on quality delivered

Trip advisor pulled a bait and switch on this venue. You advertised a concert in the main hall which has spectacular sound, we paid for better seating to see the performance. When we arrived they told us that they essentially were overbooked and we were placed in so called “improved seats in a smaller side stall. Totally not the same. This is the second time I booked through Trip Advisor and they did not deliver as advertised. They should refund our money for this type of false advertising.

Stunning

Outstanding musicians in a stunning setting - worth every cent paid. I'm not huge on classical music but the talent of the performers and enough familiar music was more than enough to have me transfixed. The costumes were a nice touch in keeping with the beautiful golden hall. Perhaps avoid the first row because you get a sore neck lifting your head for two hours to see the performers.

Memorable experience

There’s no doubt that Musikverein is the most iconic and glamorous concert hall in Europe, definitely a must see tourism spot in Vienna. Enjoying Mozart’s classic music in this beautiful hall makes our Vienna trip more complete and memorable. True classic fans may criticise the format that they engage with the audience, but as someone who knows little about classical, I find the concert enjoyable. Highly recommend

Enjoyable evening

The hall is beautiful. This is definitely geared towards tourists, but I found the music amazing. The conductor encouraged audience participation which was fun. We sat in the upstairs area which overlooked the stage and you had to lean forward to see- but it was an interesting perspective. I would recommend.

Fantastic Music

Great venue and amazing musicians. The only thing that spoilt it was 3 other people in our row. Two constantly on their phones and also 2 talking throughout until my other half asked if they could please be quiet to which he got a mouthful of abuse. This is not the venues fault. People just don’t seem to know how to behave and want to be seen to be there for instagram purposes but not actually interested in the music.

A must-do if you're in the city

What an amazing experience! I realise this is probably something primarily aimed at tourists, but what a great idea. I've never been to a classical concert before and this was just perfect. The setting was stunning and you could see how much the music meant to the whole orchestra. Our conductor (who was also First Violin) had so much charisma. If you get a chance to attend one of these concerts, you really should. We were also given CDs with our tickets. Worth nothing the dress code. While some people were very dressed up, others weren't. But our booking info stated that jeans and trainers weren't accepted (although we did see a few people wearing them). We also had to check our jackets into the cloakroom and I think it was cash only.

Fun for the whole family … well as close as up you’ll get with a concert.

A great family friendly way to get a taste of Vienna’s wonderful musical culture. The little ones still struggle a little but it’s not too long and the riot of food, costumes, and interaction with the orchestra help. However, be advised not all the seats have the best view so it’s good to check before purchase.

MISLEADING PHOTO/INFO

This is a VERY BAD experience....we bought the concert tickets with expectations of an enjoyable concert in the Golden hall as shown in your website. The actual venue (Brahms Saal) is not as what your photo advertised in your website. The seating were really bad as we were seated way behind the verandah that couldn't even see the stage. The photos attached showed our view from where we were seated. Your advertisement is VERY MISLEADING, you should have shown the actual venue of the hall, either Golden Hall or Brahm Saal. And NOT showing the Golden Hall but selling the Brahm Saal instead....VERY DISAPPOINTING

Beautiful venue, very enjoyable, but make sure to pick good seats

I really enjoyed the venue and the performance. Only issue was that it was hard to see the orchestra from the balcony (box 4, row 2), but it was better if you stood up. I would definitely go again but would pay a bit more to get better seats so I could enjoy it even more next time.
