Booked at last minute & relly enjoyed. A little music, dance & comedy & then a short walk for after theater drink at Ritz carlton nearby or Four Seasons. I forget which one.

Very disappointed in the...

Very disappointed in the change of venue for this concert. Although the music was wonderful, we could not see the dancers or the singers. Part of the reason we booked this was because it was to be in one of the original venues. Not worth the money

You will experience a nice selection of music, dance, and vocal performances.

Overall it was a nice experience. I was aware that the performance would be at the national library instead of the kursalon. The ambience could have been better. I also think that the ensemble listed in the booklet is on break as our ensemble were different people.

A fantastic heartwarming performance

What an excellent performance !! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. unfortunately there were two downsides . 1. The venue changed as soon as I authorised payment. It went from the Kursalon to The library. 2. We were refused a drink in the interval as we didn’t have VIP tickets which we were not aware of and would happily have paid for .

Music lovers

Bought tickets through Opera Guide for the Salon orchestra at the Kursalon. The concert didn’t take place at this venue, but a brisk 20 minute walk away as we discovered on arrival . Sold by deception . We do NOT recommend this website. The actual concert was superb with the 1st violist top of his game. The musicians interacted between themselves, as they would have done in the earlier centuries. The hall had good acoustics. We were treated to a wide range of music, voice and ballet, rather like a mini New Years Day concert!

Great performance but the venue was wanting.

We loved the concert! We would have appreciated it if the stage was higher so the audience could see the performers. It was frustrating. Also, please sell water. It was a hot day and we would have appreciated an opportunity to purchase that.

Enjoyable but disappointing venue

Was an excellent concert however very disappointed in the change of venue. We were so looking forward to experiencing the concert at the famous kursalon hall. We even talked two of our friends into joining us. Plus we tried many many times to exchange our entry voucher for tickets and everywhere we went was either closed, didn’t want to know . We eventually turned up at the new venue on the night of the concert,

Perfect Vienna Evening

We had a very enjoyable experience! Lovely historic venue with beautiful music! We were surprised by the addition of opera and waltzing! I would highly recommend!

Fantastic !

The music was fantastic!! The best!! Such precision by the musicians, singers, and dancers. The venue was excellent but we missed the Kursalon. The only issue was the extreme heat at the Sofiensale. Not comfortable.

Did not live up to expectations. Sad.

Music was good but no way loud enough and disappointed not having a grand piano although in the promotion photo. The acoustics were so bad could not understand what the lead was saying. The location was difficult to get to so overall not a happy experience.

Beautiful concert with amazing musicians, excellent opera singers and awesome ballet dancers. My most memorable nite in Vienna. Highly recommend.

Great experience!

Loved the music, singing and dancing! So glad we experienced this concert! It took a while to find the venue because the address on the Viator App was wrong, but we eventually found it! So glad we did!

Good performance, terrible venue change

The music, dancers and singers were superb. However the venue was changed to the National Library where there was no beautiful architecture and plain white walls. The performers were crammed into one small stage and not able to give their all. I did manage to get a partial refund but I would rather have experienced this concert at the Kursalon.

Bait and switch

Such a disappointment. We were told by a friend who grew up in Vienna to go to a music performance in one of the beautiful concert venues. We booked tickets in the Kursalon Vienna. A couple hours before the concert the venue was changed to the state library building which we thought would be comparable. Nope! The venue looked like a place you’d see a middle school orchestra concert in. What a waste of 79 euros per tickets. We would have cancelled and gotten a refund if we’d know better.

Excellent concert!

We were very disappointed that the venue for this concert was changed from the Kursalon, with only 2 days notice, as we especially wanted to go there. However, the concert itself was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

All great entertaining time

Great music Great Opera pieces and great dancing. If you are a lover of this time period in Vienna you should make it a appoint to attend. There are a lot of stairs to climb but they do have an elevator but you have to ask.

Lovely experience in length and mix of music. Was expecting more of kursalon building.. a bit let go and full of boxes. They should take care of details

A great evening! Lovely choice of music, with the emphasis on Strauss. Just be warned - they only accept cash for the purchase of programmes or drinks (which was a pity since we only had cards with us. ☹️)

Kursalon music

Beautiful setting and a good variety of music, singing and dance. Just long enough. We both enjoyed it.

Best Experience Somewhere Else

Unfortunately the venue, organizers and show was below expectations. I wore short sleeves and was mandated to check in coat and in return received a dirty used blanket. The staff was rude and the show did not meet the description of the event.

Sound of Vienna!

Had a wonderful experience. It was a night of singing, dancing & classical music. Seats are on a first come basis, so I would recommend getting there earlier for best seats.

It's worth the time and money

Very good concert. Excellant choice of songs. Fun time. Chairs are not very comfortable and room was hot. Very hot. But music helped over look these issues. There is an elevator for those who need it. 2 long sets of stairs to climb otherwise.

Top music experience in Vienna

An excellent short dip into Vienna’s famous music. Good artists and variety. Recommended if you do not want to do a full opera or concert. Perhaps a bit more Mozart… and fewer Strauss pieces…? Lovely venue.

Great building at the end of the park. Fantastic musicians. You can have a glass of wine at the brake (pay). They don't let you get inside with your jacket so you pay 2eur extra to hang it.

Kursalon Concert

Superb concert lovely setting with a perfect mix of classical music, opera and ballet. I high recommend this concert for everyone suitable for adults, children and anyone who is new to classical music.

Music, signings and dancing - so amazing

Oh my, this was absolutely amazing!!! We had front row seats, the musicians were sooooo good - the female and male singers amazing and the dancers just brilliant.

Be selective.

The concert started late, took longer than the 15 minute intermission and finished early. The music was ok but expected more. Wouldn't recommend this concert.

Excellent concert - must see if your in Vienna. Opera singers and Dancers were also outstanding. Perfect evening for our last night in town

Wonderful evening

Expertly performed - thoroughly enjoyable evening. Easy to get to. Details were given in English as well as German as the concert progressed so we could appreciate the music. Tunes still playing in my head. Definitely worth doing on a the trip to Vienna.

Kursalon - a tourist selfie haven?

Went to a Strauss and Mozart concert on 2 January. Exchanging on-line tickets for paper tickets (which had to be signed for) and being directed to two different queues to hand coats in caused confusion and delay, but this was a minor inconvenience for what was to follow. As soon as the music started people began waving their mobile phones to film, the man in front of me was on FaceTime with his family throughout the concert and the folks behind us talked non-stop. The young couple next to me entertained themselves by playing games on their phones, pulling faces and taking selfies. Why the constant use of mobile phones? Can't we simply enjoy the moment and let the people around us do the same?

A wonderful evening. Even the weather to/from the hotel was perfect!

We loved it! Great dinner in dining room. Wonderful, caring service. Well organized and clean. Then went upstairs for a 1.5-hour Strauss Viennese Concert. Yes, we even danced in the park out back, at the gold Strauss/violin statue!!!

We had a wonderful evening and feel like it was a great addition to the other activities on our trip to Vienna. The event space was lovely and the music was beautiful.

Great experience

The show was top-notch, delivering an unforgettable classical experience. I would have liked to hear more of the known pieces of Strauss and Mozart but still amazing experience. My advice to fellow travelers is to get there early (45 mins) as the venue tends to get crowded. Also, be prepared to pay for coat check.

Worth Your Money!

The musicians and opera singers and ballet dancers were all great!! I was expecting a more grand venue but it wasn’t bad at all.

Sorry to say but it was no Strauss and Mozart popular pieces included. Just a couple of pieces. No comparison with what I saw some years ago at the same event

A great choice of music

The concert was great music ballet opera. Our only issue was that we needed to catch the last train to Vienna Airport so we didn’t want to check our coats but they wouldn’t let us into the hall unless we did so we had to leave in the middle of the march to get to coat check before the crowd.

Skip if you’re looking for a professional experience

The concert was great, the experience in the theater, not so much. They forced us to check our coats at an additional cost. The concert area was somewhat cool and I would have like to hang onto it. After the show only 2 people were handing out coats, taking an additional 20 minutes to leave the building. Felt very touristy, skip this one if you’re looking for a professional experience.

No dress code

I am very disappointed Kurtsalon allows no dressing code just to look estetic.The place who hosted Strauss in person allows people in the audience in fleece shirts, tracking outfits etc. Very disrespectful for the composers & performing musicians.

Disappointing

Disappointed we paid top price for tickets in the front of the auditorium when we arrived we were shown to the rear of the room and eventually we were given seats about half way down the room, when we questioned this and showed them the tickets they said that unfortunately they were very full and that was the best they could offer!! Surely there must be a system in place to indicate that there is no more availability when booking the tickets?? I have emailed them to ask for a refund as we were sat in the cheaper seats but no reply as yet, faceless company taking the public for a ride.

Vibrant evening of music, song and dance

Small intimate space. I was in the very last row and could hear and see everything perfectly. The main violinist was a wonderful host introducing each piece. The singers and dancers truly elevated the experience.

Need to know details

It was a very great evening. It is well known pieces of music. There is an intermission. They started seating about 45minutes before the show (this is not listed on the TripAdvisor site). You must check your coats (2euro), but they will give you a blanket if you ask. Fun times.

A place to start dreaming..

My cousin and I experienced a fantastic musical journey at the Kursalon, from the organization, melodies, artists dancing and singing, artistic Vienna in a nutshell, highly recommended!

Mozart, Strauss, Opera & Waltz Dancers

Had 1 night only in Vienna & since the ballet was not on… I decided on this because there was music, opera & dance. Opéra was on, but my hubby does not like opera. Fun , happy music made for an enjoyable show. We ate dinner before show elsewhere.

A must if you visit Vienna

It was the most incredible experience, it was fantastic. The atmosphere the music the singers and dancers we were in awe. This is a must if you visit Vienna.

Excellent concert. The movements and facial expressions of the bass fiddle player alone were mesmerizing. Concert was very well done.
