Blame the Tour company

Had an excellent guide, but the Tour company did not provide a microphone to the guide, and earphones for the participants. Impossible to hear her in some of the confined spaces in the Sisi exhibit. This is on the Tour Company to make a better experience for all the participants

Great tour with Alex. His tour was filled with great information about the history of Sisi and her life. Some of the museum's rooms were amazing. Overall a great tour.

Great walking tour!

The guide that brought us around Hofburg, Sisi Museum and the surrounding was highly knowledgeable of the history and the various stories surrounding the Habsburg family. He was also very passionate about what he does and shares the info. enthusiastically. Overall a great introduction to the Habsburg history is you are new to it.

Good tour but weather did not helped

Our guide was really good, friendly and professional. She was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately we did not had the audio devices due to tech issues (not her fault) and it was a crowded and rainy day. Not the best experience but assume it was due to the circumstances/weather and normally the tour should be really good.

Spectacular Sisi!

Ute is a terrific tour guide! She was conscientious about taking us to quieter spots before starting to speak so she didn’t have to shout and we didn’t have to strain to hear her. She is very knowledgeable about Sisi, the Hofburg, and Viennese history. We learned a lot from her and enjoyed the tour. She seems to have the pacing down to give a little explanation, then people walk through a section, then she stops in a comfortable spot to elaborate more on whatever we just saw. Ute was also very solicitous of everyone in the group, a person with claustrophobia, people who needed to sit, etc. Overall, an enjoyable and informative tour.

Touring the Sisi Museum and Gardens in Vienna with a knowledgeable and resourceful guide.

I have a B.A. in History and our guide, Alexander "Alex", was so knowledgeable, resourceful and articulate in explaining the rise and fall of the Habsburg Dynasty of Austria over the past several centuries. He really brought the entire story of their family reign to life. He made our visit to the Sisi Museum so much more enjoyable.

Great tour

We really enjoyed the guided tour of the Hofburg. Our guide was very informative and fun. Communication about where to meet was very good.

Not a great tour

Not a great tour. The Hapsburg Palace is interesting, but guide did a poor job explaining the history and people. He was neither interesting, nor funny. The earphones that plugged into the headsets looked like they had been reused many times and were worn down. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

Would not visit this museum again but guide and tour were excellent.

Strongly recommend having a guide. Our guide was excellent. The experience was crowded, hot, and the museum would not have been a good experience. The skip the line was a must for this museum since rooms are small and crowds pushy.

Dissapointed

Bought 5 tickets in hofburg. Couldn't find the meeting point and a guide. Asked viator support to help, contact them ar change tickets, but nothing... lost 200 euroes... had proems in Paris toooo... so don't recommend.

Very interesting and enjoyable tour

My husband and I enjoyed a very interesting tour of the Sisi Museum, Hofburg and the Gardens. Our tour guide, Gabri, was very knowledgeable and pleasant and imparted so much interesting information about the palace and the Hofburgs. The Sisi Museum is a bit dark and the hallways are narrow and with other tourists also touring we found it a bit constricting at times. This in no way is a reflection of Viator or Gabri, it’s the way that the exhibit is designed, possibly to reflect Sisi’s struggles with mental health and depression. The palace itself was opulent and lovely to see. At all times Gabri was patient and eager to answer any questions the group had. Highly recommend this tour.

Perfect time!

There is so much to take in! Be prepared ! Gabby our Guide was so nice, took her time, and explained to the entire group all unique things. It helped keep the group aligned and entertained! She was funny and knew so much. We appreciated her insight!

Frustrating. Couldn't find guide. Asked several people if they were guide took picture of the meet area. Refund please.

Not finding tour guide. After meet time walked around to try find guide. No success. It was supposed to b our last tour in Vienna since we leave following day. Refund please.

Definitely worth it

Great tour. Tour guide Gabi was extremely knowledgeable and personable navigating us through the museums and gardens. Highly recommend.

Uncomfortable and not worth white tour

We had a difficult and disappointing tour of the Sisi Museum because of the large number of people that are forced into very small space. We were shoulder to shoulder to chest to butt with other tour groups pushing through our group. As a result, it was very uncomfortable being physically touched so extensively and bumped around. Also, there was no way to see what are guide was talking about. The outside tour was good.

Fun and educational

This was a great tour. The tour guide was very energetic and entertaining. We learned lots of history that gets swept under the rug elsewhere.

Beautiful rose garden

Beyond words not to be missed The flower garden was just out of this world.. All the flowers bloomed and well maintained The paintings and lights was just so well Maintained

Alex is true professional—very thorough and organized

Alex provided a well-organized tour. He was very generous in his detailed descriptions and stories. He was able to put information into a chronological order, which really helped with understanding the people involved and the historical settings.

Great Guide. Museum too crowded

Our guide Alexander was amazing. He was so passionate about the stories he shared and was a wealth of Austrian history. Nothing he did was scripted. He knew his stuff. My only complaint was that the museum was wall to wall people which made me very uncomfortable, even with an assigned entry time for our group. The groups were not really spread out. No surprise, two days later, I tested positive for Covid. Not a fun way to finish vacation.

Interesting but disappointing

The design of the Sisi Museum is very narrow and not conducive to groups of 25 people. The tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable (perhaps spoke a little too much), but it was difficult to hear him in some spots. As a minimum the tour needs headsets for all guests as many other tours do.

Great Tour

Excellent tour and a very knowledgeable guide that kept us on schedule, but answered questions along the way. If you have limited time in Vienna, I highly recommend this tour.

Better than Versailles tour

Learning about Sissi, and her amazing life but it was horrible the way she was murdered. Also if you’re going on the English tour ask for Peter as your guide!

Do it yourself

Too many people for this tour. We would have been better of getting the self audio tour. The Sisi is too cramped and the group is too large for this tour. Half the size may have been more tolerable.

Really good tour, totally worth it

It was great! Our guide Alex was perfect, really well spoken and gave us a lot of information, not only the basic facts. It was really entertaining, one of the best tours we ever had.

Outstanding Hofburg your by Wolfgang Auinger!

Wolfgang was an OUTSTANDING host. His knowledge and explanation of Emperor Jose, the Austrian Empire, Maria Theresa, Queen Sisi and Austria during the Austro-Hungarian Empire was incredible! I will seek him out foe his other tours and highly recommend this your as long as you can get Wolfgang Auinger.

Didn’t have chance to see...

Didn’t have chance to see the Garden. But the guide has good knowledge on history. We enjoyed the tour.

Disappointing

This tour was very disappointing. The Sisi Museum isn’t really conducive to 20+ people tour groups as the aisles are narrow and there are numerous other tours and museum goers. You couldn’t really see the rooms and displays. The rest of tour of the Hofburg Palace was walking around outside and seeing the outside of buildings…I wish it had included a visit inside a building such as the library. Only the interesting and often humorous commentary by our guide, Michael made it a little worthwhile.

Unfortunate flood in Hofburg

We were unlucky due to the fact that there was a flood in the courtyard of Hofburg,but we found the tour too crowded .I feel like they let too many people in.The tour guide however was very knowledgeable and informative.

unprofessional and lack of customer service

We booked this tour through Viator after having booked countless other tours through viator over the years. On the day of our tour, (12/1/2023) Vienna got dumped on with about 4-6 inches of snow with decent winds. At the time our tour was to start, there was also a good wind blowing so the conditions outside were extremely poor visibility and extremely cold. Despite having lunch presumably less than half a mile from the meeting point, we could not locate the guide at the designated time. We sent roughly five instant messages through the booking app and called the provided cell number for the guide and even tried messaging through What's App. The guide never responded to provide any guidance to locate the meeting spot. That is, until we finally called Viator to complain that we had not connected w the guide & were missing our tour - Viator placed us on hold and was able to immediately reach the guide/ tour company. Needless to say, we missed the tour, could not purchase our own tickets to see the palace as it was sold out for the day, and to top it off, my fit bit registered 3.98 miles walked in a circle trying to locate our guide. This was even more frustrating given the number of tours I have taken in the last 3 years of Eurpoean travel (in excess of 5k in tour fees) and having witnessed multiple guides call guests when they were late to assist them in locating the tour meeting spot. Viator indicated it is up to the local tour operator to refund us. Roso travel has refused to issue a refund. Complete lack of customer service, consideration or professionalism. I would think twice - three times - before booking with them for any services.

Great tour and our guide Uta was very good. Lots of historique facts but also anecdotes. I highly recommend the tour. A great way to see both museums with a lot more inside that just the audio commentary

Beauty of historical significance.

Seeing the palace and art was immensely interesting. The guide was very informative by giving us details we normally would not have known had we did this on our own. Sadly it started raining, so we couldn’t appreciate the gardens, but we did return on our own. Highly recommend.

Family tour made great

We booked this tour for a family (2 adults, 3 teens and 1 pre-teen) and it was great. The guide made sure to include important information for parents but also things for the kids. She also gave her some insights into the life at the time and that was really helpful for the kids to engage. Loved it!
