Lovely evening, concert was terrific. It is a relatively intimate venue, much smaller than a large concert hall and surroundings are stunning. Seating is first-come-first seated in your assigned category so it is worth getting there when doors open 30 minutes in advance.

Trip Advisor read the fine print well in advance of show

Make sure to read your confirmation at least a day in advance. Tickets ARE NOT provided by Trip Advisor to this venue. You have to pick them up at the Orangerie on the palace grounds before they close at 6:30. I assumed that when I saw the "get tickets here link" in the Trip Advisor app, we already had them. All of this caused a lot of unnecessary stress ahead of a beautiful show. We RAN to get public transportation and RAN to the Orangerie just in time to pick them up. I hope I can help someone else avoid this problem. It put a damper on what should have been a relaxing evening. The music was outstanding but the singers went in and out of a side door the whole performance and it was distracting to see the door ajar during the concert. I had to close my eyes to stop from getting distracted and focus on the beautiful music.

Nice Music!

We enjoyed the concert. We did think it was going to be in the main part of the Palace but was in a separate building so that was a little disappointing. We were also unaware that there was going to be Opera sung

Brought tears to my eyes

Try everything once. Last night I travelled out of the Viennese city centre to experience classical music in the Palace Oranjerie. It was the first time I have seen classical music played by a live orchestra before me, and it was truly awe inspiring. My soul was stirred and right at the end brought to its climax with a beautiful performance of Blue Danube. My mum used to watch a 1937 cartoon of Blue Danube, which she bought on VHS when we got our first Ferguson Videostar back in like 1987. We used to watch that cartoon together, and thus Blue Danube is my favourite piece of classical music. When the music played, and the instruments began their waltzing dance, I was taken back to being a child. I am not ashamed to say that I cried in the middle of the auditorium. Quietly, with dignity, and not disturbing the other patrons. But cried nonetheless 😭😭😭 If you have never seen an orchestra play live before, go and do it… and like wot I did, put your phone away and record the music and the musicians with your memory.

Don't take the dinner-concert package

Beware of the package deals they offer!! The dinner- concert package charges an excessive price for mediocre dinner. To our surprise, we were treated as second class clients, probably cause we had prepaid for dinner. Others could eat outside; we could not. 2 euro for a six ounce glass of tap water. Luke-warm soup, cold apple strudel. The potato side dish was good. Better to walk in to the sane restaurant and order a la carte. You can choose your own items, pay less and be treated properly.

Tour experience

I had the most amazing tour guide. She was knowledgeable, personable and fun. I loved her!!! She received a big gratuity, she was totally worth it!

A thoroughly enchanting evening of classical music and operettic performances by accomplished musicians and vocal talent observed in a hall of the Schoenbrun Palace. The conductor motivated the artists and engaged the audience. Bravo to all for sharing this talented evening with us.

Very simple venue off the palace

The venue is NOT inside or next to Palace is next door. Not very ornate for palace luxury expectation. Room was an old nursery. Decor made with ceiling lights. You pay $1 for coat check . I was not allow to keep my jacket. Performance was good but short. Orchestra or band of 12 aprox. Talent but not grandeur of a palace. Disappointed

Great night out … wonderful concert

We really enjoyed this concert … it was amazing and would recommend everyone to go Only downside was that we are told No photos or camera use during the performance which is fine, but for those who don’t follow the rules and disrupted others viewing there was nothing done. The staff were at the back of the Orangerie and could clearly see the few usingnphknes but did nothing. If you set rules then be ready to enforce them so everyone can enjoy the show.

Superb concert

Excellant musicians. Finely turned performance. I 'd go back again soon. Choice of music outstanding. Second half was exceptional and fun.

Excellent

We booked well in advance and got there in good time to take our seats. We sat right at the back which was absolutely fine. The first half was 45 minutes then a small interlude to have a drink, followed by another 45 minutes. We were treated to some fabulous music including a bit of opera as well. So whilst in Vienna you need to hear some classical music and the Orangery at the palace was perfect!

Disappointed

The publicity suggested that we would be hearing the orchestra. The fact that it would be only an ensemble was in small print and easily missed. We were disappointed with the standard of performance with the new exception of the soprano who was excellent

A touristy kinda magic

Touristy kind of magic - yes, is in a side hall of the palace, with no fixed places - but zones related seats. The set is a pout-pourri of classic operas excerpts and known arias. Prices of the bar during intermission are fair, but not much options to eart. Illumination and quality of the music is very good. 2nd half will transport you in a world of Waltz and Polkas. Very much recommended. You dont need to book the whole dinner exoerience to have a little magic. Staff there really friendly, clean restrooms. Definitely I will come again and bring my family.

Nachtmuzik and waltzes

The “orchestra” was small but excellent. The musicians had a lot of personality, which enhanced the performance. The program included many well-known pieces, even for those who are less familiar with classical music. Two singers rounded out the cast. My husband and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Beautiful experience in Schönbrunn!

Very inspiring concert in the beautiful setting of the Orangery Schönbrunn, a MUST when visiting Vienna! Absolutely lovely Viennese Music!

Very good concert

The acoustics and location was really nice, and the musicians put on a really good show. It is so easy to take the subway there. The orangery is a very short walk to or from the train station. Make sure you read the times to pick up tickets because some days you have to pick them up earlier in day . It is also worth paying a little more for the better seats as you have more room and have excellent views.

Worth seeing

The venue is beautiful, the music is wonderful. However, even in the A section we were not given some form of playbill. I would have gladly paid $2 for even a single printed page!! Also, it was very hot during the concert.

Classical Mozart snd Strauss in lovely venue

Great evening. 8 piece ensemble and 2 soloists. Would have liked to sit nearer the front for a better view but out of our price range. Lovely atmosphere in the orangery.

We loved the concert in its entirety, the professionalism of the musicians as well as the soprano and baritone.

A lovely evening

I had doubts but…..A lovely evening. We were fortunate to sit in the front. The concert is acoustic ( as it was in Mozarts day) and may have been less enjoyable towards the rear of a long room. Dinner was pleasant. ( Concert and dinner ticket) Austrian. Boiled beef😀 but none the worse for that. Highly recommend. Most enjoyable evening

Classical music

Amazing concert. Good ambiance. If you can’t find Opera ticket, you can choose this. Flat hall, coordinated seats. we liked it.

The concert was great,...

The concert was great, they played popular classics and we enjoyed ourselves. The first half was Mozart and the second half Strauss. I found the obligatory coat check in a bit odd - wasn't prepared for it so I didn't have a euro on me to check in my coat but because it was obligatory they said to forget about the one euro fee. That meant after the concert there was quite a queue but they dealt with most people quickly.

Positive concert feelings

Wonderful concert. Amazing performances. I wish they can avoid ticket collection prior to the concert.

Utterly dismal - avoid

Wow. This was dreadful. The ‘cheap’ seats at €45 each were 100 metres from the stage, and as the seats are all on one level you couldn’t see the performers - but you do have a perfect view of the heads of those sat in front of you. Acoustics are poor, so there is nothing ‘immersive’ about the performance. You might as well be listening to Spotify. There is no overview of the performance, the introduction focuses only on house-keeping. Pretty lights are projected on to the ceiling, but these are not enough to distract from the dreadful production. Utterly dismal and a cynical ploy to get money from tourists. We abandoned it at the interval. Avoid at all costs and find an authentic production that Austrians might actually visit too.

Magnificient!

Magnificient! The musicians, the conductor, everything! For first time I attended such an event and I wasn't left disappointed.

Classical music for everybody

Amazing sound. . The pieces are short and very popular so it’s perfect even if you are not a fan of classical music

Stunning musical experience in Vienna

I took my two teenage daughters to see this performance and we absolutely loved it. They were engaged the entire 90 minutes. As soon as the musicians started playing, it was magical. The event went fast and they mixed up the performance with opera singers and some humor skits among the musicians. There was definitely a good chemistry among the musicians as they would watch each other and were very in tune with the beat. They were smiling and seemed to generally enjoy performing. It was easy turning in the vouchers to tickets right before the performance. There was a long line for the coat check to get into the concert. So if you don’t bring a coat or large bag, you could get in very fast. Tips: I didn’t see anything on the reviews about the mandatory coat check and they only accepted cash (one euro). We decided to leave the concert a few minutes early to avoid the long line to get our coat back. We ubered there and it was easy.

Poor performance

Poor performance overall. The acoustic of the room was very poor and at the back seats there was a lot of noise from the bar during the concert.

A fantastic event, definitely worth booking!!

A fantastic event. We booked Category A tickets (closer to the stage, behind the VIP seats), which were close enough to get a good view of the orchestra. Before the event, we were lucky there was a Christmas market on at the Palace, so enjoyed walking around and enjoying the local drink and cuisines. Whilst we are not experienced orchestral or Operatta fans, we thought the music was excellent, with fun added to the Opera moments. Definitely worth the money and let's face it, you can't go to Vienna and not experience some Mozart and Strauss!!

Amazing music ruined by people there for Instagram not the music

Stunning place and wonderful music however seemed there were quite a few tourists there, so many people videoing/ taking photos that I was hard to concentrate on the music (it was specified that photography was not allowed during the concert) lots of whispering and during the second act many people kept getting up to leave even though the concert wasn’t finished (and the music was gorgeous) spoiling it for the rest of us. All in all a wonderful concert spoiled by horrible theatre etiquete

Impressive

The whole concert. The hall, the orchestra, the singers. The accommodation and the bar. On top of everything we saw in Vienna, this concert was the cherry on top of the cake. We couldn’t leave Vienna without attending a Mozart music concert. Everything well organized

Talented musicians

Will strongly recommend it very talented musicians. We came 2 hours beforehand to get our tickets and ate at a restaurant near by. The concert was in the same place we got our tickets.

Amazing concert

It was a delightful experience, I was very moved by the beauty of the music. We had seats at section A and could see the faces of the musicians while playing. The access is very easy, we arrived by public transport "U-Bahn" and the Orangerie is a couple of steps away from the Schönbrunn station. It's worth every penny you pay, the musicians and opera singers were amazing, even if you are not a classic music expert you would enjoy the experience, I would totally recommend It to first-timers.

Do Not Miss This When Enjoying Vienna

This was a great concert which should not be missed. As a classical enthusiast, I have been to many concerts throughout the world. This should not be missed. The scores were well selected and the conductor was entertaining.

Don’t waste your money

Nothing we sat at the very back of the hall there is no way anyone can see anything. I was totally embarrassed since I took friends with me and they were expecting a proper concert with concert type seats. We could have stayed in our hotel and listen to this music via YouTube. The performers were great I guess from what we heard. Don’t waste your money on this.

The concert was fun with opera singers

The concert was fun with opera singers. Hard to see if the person in front is tall because the hall floor is flat. No elevations for the people at the back.

Worthwhile diversion

I may have appreciated this concert more than I should have, but it was the only successfully completed portion of my stay in Vienna! It was enjoyable, to be sure, but not part of spending the day at the palace. I arrived just in time for the concert, and afterwards I spent time at the Christmas market just outside (this was beginning of December). It's a good 10 minute walk from the U Bahn station to the palace entrance. There was some extra effort involved just to find out how to get inside where the concert was to take place. The room was rather small (the White and Gold Room, 12.8m x 7.85m). Ticket prices varied somewhat by row, which, when you get there, seems pretty ridiculous, given that there are maybe two rows of metal framed catering chairs arranged for each section. There were six musicians on an elevated platform, plus two singers, one male, one female, who sang individually or together for certain pieces. I am barely knowledgeable of classical music, but I did enjoy it and felt the musicians were engaged with each other and the audience.

Amazing - would go again!

Loved every minute of it. Absolutely fabulous!! Went with my teens and husband and we all truly enjoyed it!

The best music i have attended.. Real awesome experience. Enjoyed the last part where the audience was interactive with the orchestra. I most enjoyed the music conductor. He was outstanding

Wonderful concert in a beauty palace.

The concert itself was wonderful as well as the palace inside. However, directions on how to get to the location was confusing for a newbie to Vienna.

A very intimate experience, we love it, it was magical! The musicians and operatic singers made for a varied and enjoyable evening.

Beautiful Music, but UPGRADE!

The music was lovely, however, I would recommend upgrading your seats. We were in section C, and although we could hear the music, it would have been better if we were closer. Also, we could hear glasses “clinking “ behind us, as they were preparing for intermission.

The musicians and opera singers were excellent! I personally would’ve liked to of been in the palace with tiered seating, and not just in the orangery, but it was ok.

Delightful and enjoyable concert!

What a wonderful and delightful evening! The orchestra was amazing as were the singers and the experience became interactive. I had a smile on my face the entire time. Excellent musicians with a sense of humor. The palace is gorgeous and this venue was unique and beautiful (and not that difficult to find at all, there is a big sign that says "Orangerie") We really enjoyed the concert and it was an experience that should not be missed in Vienna

Intimate Evening

The room was much more intimate than we were expecting which we enjoyed thoroughly. Both singers had great personalities and the musicians were wonderful.
