Sam, our guide was the best. Had an amazing experience exploring different cities in Austria. Sam was patient, punctual, and friendly. He went out of his way to make sure I made the most out of my experience. Will definitely recommend to anyone and will be coming back soon!

Horrible Drive in a mid-sized SUV

The local tour company (Lai Tours), who Viator is tied up with, provided a mid-sized SUV for a family of 4 full grown adults. Can you imagine? And that too for a 12-hour trip. Just crazy. That was ridiculous. I had mentioned in my booking to provide a bigger vehicle so that our trip is comfortable and memorable. But no, that never happened. The journey was not at all comfortable and we were all squeezed in the back seat for the entire 12 hours of the tour. People sitting in the back was always trying to bribe the person in front to take a turn to sit in the front (LOL) The driver was super nice, no complaints about him. He was polite, patient and showed us around. But unfortunately, the drive back and forth ruined the entire experience of the tour.

Amazing Hallstatt, great tour with Mohamad

Gotta book this tour! Mohamad was our guide/driver and he did an amazing job with the history, driving , and telling us where to go and what to do. He picked us up in front of the Park Hyatt at 8:00 sharp. The drive to Hallstätt is not short, but the long drive went smoothly and we were able to experience the Skywalk and the town without any hurry. Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful towns that we have ever experienced! He also made a lunch reservation for us in the town square with a table right beside the lake. Salzberg was also fun and the drive back to Vienna was good. I’m sure it’s tiring doing all that driving and tour guide stuff, and we appreciate the day that we spent with Mohamad. This tour is a must-do!!

Fantastic day despite the gloomy weather

It was a rainy and cold day but our guide Mohamad did his best to make it memorable. He even supplied us with adorable umbrellas. Great guide,learnt a lot!

An amazing tour with an amazing tour guide!

We had an amazing tour to Hallstatt amd Salzburg. Wesam was the best guide we could have, excellent driver, excellent guy and willing to show us everything he knows. A bit expensive the tour for my opinion but the whole experience was fantastic.

This Salzburg to Hallstatt tour was absolutely fantastic! The scenery between the two towns is breathtaking, with the Austrian Alps stretching out in all directions. Hallstatt itself is a fairytale village nestled beside a stunning lake. We had plenty of time to explore the charming streets, admire the colorful houses, and soak up the atmosphere. Salzburg was equally impressive, with its grand architecture and rich musical history. Our guide Sam was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only minor drawback was the size of the tour vehicle. While everything else was excellent, a bit more legroom would have been appreciated for a more comfortable ride.

A fun day out !

This was truly one of our highlights during our Vienna trip. Sam our guide was very pleasant and patient in explaining the history and background of Hallstat and Salzburg. He very kindly offered to take our pictures and answered any questions we had and always did it with a smile :) Thanks Sam ! We would definitely recommend this tour and Sam to anyone who is looking to cover Hallstat and Salzburg as a day trip during their stay in Vienna.

Hidden gem

Great guide well conducted tour. Hallstatt and the drive through the alps was an unexpected hidden gem. It gave us an overview and taste of Salzburg leaving us wanted to return for more. Thank you to the guide for being such great company for the day.

Very comfortable and beautiful trip.

Really lovely trip, with very safely driving and confort in the car. Our driver ( Sam ) offered us what we need, stopped when we need it. He explains everything where we passed. Very impressive and beautiful skywalk in Hallstaat and Salzburg. It passed very quickly the time! Really recommended and do it again our 3 members of our family.

Hallstatt and Salzburg from Vienna

We had the most amazing experience on this trip. Hallstatt was the crown jewel. Our driver cum guide Ahmad was excellent. He took us to the right spots for photos , had interesting information and was helpful for finding rest stops. Overall it was an awesome experience. We reccomend this tour and our guide Ahmad. P.S. - For 4 adults the car could have been bigger!

A Must-Do tour

Spectacular views and a great tour guide, Mo, to drive us around and explain the history of what we were visiting. Mo was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations as only a local could. Highly recommend.

A must visit if you come to Vienna

The Skywalk and the walk through the Hallstatt village is the most memorable day trip. Wesam was our professional guide for the private tour. He was early for the pick up. Brought us to the places of interest and also ensure we are comfortable throughout the journey. Every places of interest that we visited, he will ask if we are happy. He also recommended good Austrian cuisine in Salzburg. At the end trip he also shared places to visit in Vienna. Wesam is a very patient and caring guide. We highly recommend this tour when in Vienna.

Vienna to Salzburg

Wesam was great! He arrived promptly at our hotel and customized the days itinerary to suit our needs. Very pleasant, very polite and a good driver! He included a welcome pit stop at beautiful Lake Tranchee on long drive to Halstadt. Both Halstadt and Salzburg were worth seeing. Halstadt is picture perfect and small in a good way. Salzburg is grand but walkable.

Hallstatt is the best !

We visited different eastern cities and did many tours, this was by far the best of all. Our driver sam was excellent, very knowledgeable, extremely accommodating and kept us on schedule. Definitely a most do

Hallstatt was breathtaking from the skywalk to the wonderful lunch on the lake. Salzburg was great learning about the history of Mozart and seeing the Mirabel gardens. Our guide Ahmed was charming, knowledgeable and polite. We had a wonderful day ! Our booking experience was simple with prompt replies and good communication from Viator and Ahmed. Special thanks to Ahmed for returning a personal item to our hotel the following day after it was accidentally left in the car. We were very appreciative of that. While manageable a vehicle slightly bigger than the Skoda would have made travel slightly more comfortable for such a long trip.

Best day of our 3 week trip traveling Europe!

Wesam was kind, thoughtful and enjoyable to be around. He made this day so special for us! My mom is elderly and he made sure she was okay and was patient with us as we walked slower. He helped us by picking us up to eliminate any steps when able. We had great back and forth conversation and he is a very respectful and a smart young man. We told him to be sure and let his parents know they raised a phenomenal young man!! We were also comfortable sitting in the silence when we chose to during the ride. He provided a lot of interesting facts about Austria and the areas we visited, which we really appreciated! About the trip itself, it’s a must-see!! It’s worth every penny! After exploring the beautiful Vienna for 2 days my mom said during this trip, “NOW I feel like I’m in Austria!!” Every stop we made had a purpose, he let us stop and take pictures when we wanted and we were so excited when he accepted our offer for lunch so we could visit with Wesam more! The countryside and beautiful communities he took us were breathtaking and we enjoyed lunch on the gorgeous lake. This will make your trip so special and it’s an experience you will never forget!
