Good food and music

This was a combination dinner, which was quite good, and a Strauss/Mozart concert. A great opening night to our vacation in Vienna. Good music with a personable conductor. With a VIP package our seats were in front which made it more enjoyable. The singers and dancers added even more personality to the evening. A good choice for us.

Missold deal

We with my husband went to Vienna to celebrate his big birthday, we both like classical music and booked this concert with dinner. Concert was wonderful and unforgetable, but it was ruined by dinner. It was advertised with pictures and we understood (not only us) that dinner will be served at the same premises. Unfortunately, when we arrived 15 min before the start we were told that we need to go to the restaurant , which was 7 min walk. We went to the restaurant and had to wait outside in the cold, because it was closed until 6 pm. Customer service was very poor, we did not get free glass of sparkling wine as advertised, and food was less then average. If we knew that they send us to such restaurant, we would never book it with dinner. Really disappointing

After searching for a concert we found this one. From all the experience we choose this because it had the best reviews. The site is fitting.

Great Concert - shame about the meal!

The concert was very enjoyable - a varied programme with an accomplished salon orchestra , opera singers and ballet dancers. It was exactly what we were expecting and the venue is historic and impressive. We paid extra for seats in block A, near the front, and as we went up to the concert hall about 30minutes before the start time, we were given good seats in the third row (rows 1 & 2 are for those who pay even more!) We were, however, extremely disappointed by the three course meal for which we had paid a considerable extra sum: the food was nicely presented but very underwhelming for what is advertised as a gourmet meal. The portions were very small - for example, a tiny bowl of soup or consomme as a first course. We noticed that people on some other tables were given bread rolls and asked if we could have some - but apparently this was not included in our menu. I chose Tafelspitz which consisted of two small slices of meat and about a teaspoonful each of pan fried potatoes and spinach. For dessert - which was described in English as "apricot dumplings" (sic), we were served with one small dumpling. The service was also very poor for such a prestigious meal: We ordered a bottle of white wine to share between three of us, and also a glass of red wine to accompany the beef dish. This was forgotten, and, by the time we were able to ask again, my son had finished his small plate of Tafelspitz. The service was rushed between the first and second courses, then there was an extremely long delay before the dessert was served. There was then another long delay before we were able to ask for the bill - in the meantime we were not asked if we would like coffee or anything else. When what appeared to be the head waiter arrived, we explained the reasons why we were disappointed and that the menu was inaccurate - at least in respect of the incorrect plural in the English translation. He made a show of listening and wrote down some details on the back of the bill . He explained the poor service by saying the staff were new. He did not otherwise apologise. After I paid by card for the bottle of wine we had had, he left behind the paper on which he had made the note of our complaints! We surmise that people attending the concert are likely to be doing so just once ever while visiting Vienna and that the venue is therefore not worried that they won't come back if they don't enjoy the experience. This experience definitely spoiled the first part of our evening and, if we had known in advance, we would have preferred to eat elsewhere before the concert -we would probably have pIaid significantly less, had more choice and more generous portions Our advice would therefore be to avoid the meal and just attend the concert. .

A musical evening

The concert included an enjoyable mix of singing, dance and humorous elements, all well-performed. The dinner was good, although the menu options limited. Would definitely recommend a night at the Kursalon.

Dinner was okay. Concert excellent. Not sure about the ballet pieces but the musicians were really good.

The concert was very nice. But during the meal, the server forgot our glass of wine and then wanted to charge us for 2 glasses.

The Show was Fabulous

We did not do the dinner, but the show was fantastic. We paid a little extra to get VIP seating and it was well worth it. A reasonably small group of musicians, but when they start up the sound is fabulous. During the course of the show dancers and singers appear. It really adds to the experience. When they break into the Blue Danube waltz .... you KNOW you are in Vienna. I normally do not see things twice, but when I am back in Vienna, I will see this show again! If you are checking a coat, it would behoove you to get downstairs quickly as the line is long. There is also an elevator for people who need a little help.

Oh dear....

This was the last night of our trip to Vienna for my special birthday and sadly was a major disappointment. We had booked dinner in advance in the in-house restaurant; big mistake! There was no atmosphere or ambiance - it was like eating in a school canteen. We were not given the opportunity to order drinks, or indeed given any attention at all for about 40 minutes. Our food and drinks order was then taken together. The starters offered a choice of 2 soups only; not very imaginative and proved to be tepid at best. There was a long wait between courses as some tables were on a 4 course meal and others on three and trying to order any additional drinks, or get any service in between, was impossible. Worse was to come - we opted for the beef main course (again two choices - the other was salmon). The whole meal was cold, with the so-called creamy brussels sprouts like bullets. We only ate the meat, which was just about edible but certainly not enjoyable. We did advise the waitress that the dinner was inedible; she said they could warm it up if we wanted. However having worked in catering, this means microwave at best and the worst - well we won't go there! Dessert was little better and the mousse tasted very commercial. We weren't offered the option of ordering coffee. So feeling totally underwhelmed, we made our way to the concert. This was in fact very good, but sadly our dinner experience tainted the whole evening. In addition, our tickets stated no interval, but there was one. Regrettably the rush to the bar then made getting further drinks futile; if we had known this was going to happen, we could have perhaps had ordered in advance. Overall a disappointing end to our trip. Sorry Vienna, but Slazburg did this soooo much better!

Take the concert only

The concert was amazing!! Highly recommend it. But the dinner itself was not tasty not attractive for my taste. The dishes weren’t appealing.

the kursalon is a beautiful venue at one end of stadtpark. the 3 course dinner was very good. the concert of mainly strauss and mozart compositions accompnied by opera singers and waltzes was a delight. a fitting end to our amazing vacation in vienna.

Nice Experience!

The friendliness of the staff was amazing. Meeting new people was even better. I really enjoyed the musical pieces, the arias, and ballet performances. It went smoothly.

First time at a classical...

First time at a classical concert and really enjoyed it. Aside from the excellent musicians the ballet and opera sections were also fantastic. A very high standard. The meal beforehand was delicious

Great dinner, great music and beautiful place. Listened to their house orchestra which was simply fantastic, assisted by amazing two singers and two beautiful dancers

Superb

I went to the show because my wife,has all ways wanted to go and see it,and i must say, I'm not this way inclined, I sooner let people who enjoy it get on with it,but I must say I was very surprised,and actually enjoyed it from start to finish, I thoughly recommend it 10/10

LOVED IT

The 3 course meal was absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious and the staff were wonderful. We came as a large group and the service was perfect. Afterwards we went moved to the room where the concert would be help. It wasn't at all what I expected. I expected this concert hall like you see in the movies. But this was just a beautiful large room with a stage and chairs. The concert itself was spectacular. The musicians are very talented and there was a variety of music, singing, dancing and acting out scenes. I'm not a massive lover of the classical genre and I mainly went because it was the "Vienna" thing to do, but I absolutely loved it and I would definitely go again.

Brilliant

Absolutely brilliant night, musicians were excellent as were the dancers and opera singers. Very entertaining evening funny at times. The building is beautiful and easy to find as it is in Stadtpark. Would definately recommend going here.

Entertaining Evening

My husband and I really enjoyed the evening at the Kursalon. He is not a classical music lover so he was not expecting to enjoy this--he absolutely enjoyed himself. It was entertaining, funny, and the musicians were very good. You do not need to be a classical or ballet lover to enjoy this. Nice variety of music, dance and voice. We also did the 3 course dinner option, which was very good also. There were choices for the dinner (including vegetarian). They had emailed me ahead of time requesting what we wanted to order, but they apparently didn't use that because we were asked again by the waiter what we would like. Pumpkin or Beef soup, Salmon or Beef, Viennese souffle or chocolate mousse were our choices. We tried it all and enjoyed it all. There is a fee for coat check and if you have a heavy coat, you need to check it, so there was a line for the coatcheck, so plan accordingly to give yourself time for a good seat. You are only guaranteed a seat in the section you pay. So if you want an end spot or middle, you need to get there early to pick.

Food was nothing special

We waited a long time for the food and it was nothing special when you consider that we paid alot of money for it. Have to admit that we were quite pissed off when a group of people came in half an hour after we arrived and got served before us. Thank God for the concert because they played so beautifully, we loved every minute of it, would go back again but only for the concert.

Fantastic Evening that should not be missed

What a beautiful evening of excellent music in Vienna. The 13 musicians were fabulous (I go to the Philadelphia Orchestra and thought this small group was outstanding.) The two operatic soloists were marvelous and the dancers an added treat. If you want the feel of musical Vienna, this is the venue to attend. Because I was with a group tour, I did not attend the dinner portion.

Food average but concert good

The building is beautiful not far from the Golden Strauss. Concert is light and fun and gives a nice overview into the local music. We had the tour dinner 4 courses nicely presented but really lacked any flavor. Soup and salmon mousse. Fish ok and chocolate pudding average. Very pricey for what it was.

I wanted to go to hear music.

Wanting to hear a bit of the music of the local composers we chose this dinner and concert venue. It was a dinner beginning at 18:00 witht the concert to follow at 20:00. The dinner offered a two choices of each course. The food was tasty, but serving sizes a bit small. Drinks are not included, but reasonable. The seating was a bit slow as people dribbled in slowly. Service a bit slow for my liking, but it all worked out well once they got started. It is difficult to serve a large group. The music started promptly at 20;20 as seaging there was a bit slow and difficult due to the number of people. The music was very good. The ensemble was very good and they played mostly strauss and Mozart as advertised. A pleasant surprise of dancers and singers added to this. At the intermission some drinks were served and I'm not sure how to get them as we didn't partake. Sadly, many of the patrons were unable to honor the no photograph request and getting in and out was a little bit like a rush hour subway ride in New York. This is due to the guest, and not the venue. A nice evening and I'd do it again.

Musikalisches Highlight

5 Sterne für die hervorragende musikalische Leistung von Orchester, Sängern und Tänzern. Für das Menue können wir leider nur 3 Sterne vergeben. Die Suppe war geschmacklos und die Hauptspeise war zu kalt. Trotzdem war es ein gelungener Abend. Wir buchen gerne wieder bei diesem Veranstalter.

Dîner tres mediocre pour ce prix mais oui pour le balai

Le dîner était tout à fait médiocre pour le prix donné. Il vaut mieux se trouver un bon restaurant à l'extérieur et venir ensuite au concert ballet qui lui était de qualité.

Netter, kompetenter Service. Das Essen war lecker. Die anschliessende Darbietung war großartig. 8rchszer, Tänzer und Sänger waren klasse!!!

Concert presque parfait

Le concert était parfait. Le dîner était décevant. Le concert mérite la note de 5 étoiles mais par contre le dîner mérite la note de étoiles.

Concert très bien, restaurant très moyen

Restaurant 3 plats très moyen : salle de cantine assez bruyante et sans charme, service catastrophique ( on attend 35 mn entre l entrée et le plat et aucun de nous 7 n est servi en même temps, on nous apporte les plats de la table d à côté…certains ont leur boisson d autres non..) et on nous presse en fin de repas car le concert a commencé ! En revanche concert de musique classique très bien , morceaux présentés, chanteurs d opéras et danseurs excellents et plein d humour. Conclusion : allez au concert mais pas au restaurant . Nous avons payé 110 €/personne, économisez le resto.

Het diner was heerlijk, het concert was prachtig, bestond uit een twaalf delig assemble met mooie operastemmen en ballet/dans!

Te veel geld slechte entourage

Een diner concert als VIP daar stel je je dan heel veel van voor. Toch kwam ik een tikkie bedrogen uit . Het eten was in een kille zaal met niet erg veel sfeer. Het eten was dan wel goed maar weinig keuze. En kleine porties. Het concert is dus apart van het diner wel in een erg mooie zaal. Maar op zeer gammele stoelen. Het concert is geweldig! Conclusie eten en concert waren de moeite waard maar de Entourage kan veel beter zeker voor deze prijs. Om over garderobe maar te zwijgen dat was echt een aanfluiting. 400 man die na het concert in de rij staan voor hun jas. Met chagrijnige bediening van 3 mensen en waag t niet in de verkeerde rij te staan. Veel te duur zeker als VIP ticket

repas bon mais simple, vin non inclus, restaurant bruyant donc pas très romantique, dommage pour le concert, il faisait chaud et beaucoup trop de lumière mais c'était un beau concert, les interventions des danseurs étaient bienvenues

Para no repetir, la cena no es alli y es pésima

La comparto para que la gente sepa que la cena no es donde dicen, te hacen ir alli y te dan un planito en fotocopia para que vayas a 10 minutos andando a un restaurante donde no solo se come regular sino que la atencion de parte de personal es pésima, tardan un monton entre plato y plato y tienes que volver al concierto otros 10 minutos andando con prisas para llegar antes de que empieze. Vamos para no repetir

Concerto top ma organizzazione Viator pessima

Il concerto è meraviglioso, tutto davvero bravi. La delusione è stata la cena: avevo prenotato pacchetto con cena a 3 portate che si sarebbe dovuta svolgere nella stessa struttura dove si svolgeva il concerto. Arrivo e non trovano la mia prenotazione regolarmente fatta,pagata e confermata. Dopo ca 15 min di attesa mi dicono che il ristorante della struttura era chiuso e che la cena si avolgeva presso un ristorante che peró era al completo: assurdo! Nessuno mi aveva avvisato di questo! Dopo varie telefonate la ragazza all’accoglienza teova posto in un ristorante a ca 1 km da Kursalon. Quindi in fretta e furia abbiamo dovuto raggiungerlo, mangiare sempre di fretta per poter poi tornare per il concerto. Ero andata apposta dall’italia per regalare un’esperienza a mia mamma…che peró ha deluso le ns aspettative e non era ciò che avevo prenotato e pagato. Ci siamo dovute adeguare anche perché ormai non avevamo scelta. Ripeto, bastava avvisare!!!! Il concerto vale la pena ma l’organizzazione è pessima

Gran noche en el Kursalon de Viena. Cena sabrosa y concierto de valses y polkas de Straus y Mozart. Muy recomendable

Belle soirée

Nous avons passé une belle soirée au Kursalon de Vienne. Le repas n'a pas eu lieu au Kursalon mais au restaurant de l'Interhôtel situé juste en face. Et nous y avons très bien mangé avec une formule entrée - plat - dessert proposant des plats typiques (escalope viennoise, Applestrudel et Sacher Torte par exemple). Le concert était très bien également (il dure 1h30 environ), il y a une belle harmonie entre les musiciens, les morceaux chantés étaient très agréables (notamment le duo entre les deux solistes). De plus, les morceaux dansés apportent un vrai plus au spectacle. L'ensemble permet d'offrir un spectacle de qualité. En bref, nous recommandons ce spectacle pour une première découverte de la musique viennoise.

Super concert! Une belle soirée!

Mon épouse et moi avons passé une super belle soirée. Les musiciens, danseurs et chanteurs sont vraiment bons. Je recommande fortement. Pour le concert je donne un 5 et pour le repas un 3,5.

Concerto em Viena

Compramos o ingresso Jantar com 3 pratos + concerto e ficamos muito satisfeitos. A comida estava muito saborosa e o atendimento do restaurante muito bom. Em relação ao concerto, as músicas eram a maioria relativamente conhecidas o que cria empatia com o público. A orquestra era ótima e os solistas também. Recomendado!

Très interessant

Très belle expérience pour découvrir l'univers de la musique classique, de l'opéra et de la danse classique car se succèdent des numéros, plutôt courts (même un peu trop à mon goût), de chaque discipline. Les morceaux choisis sont vraiment des classiques, on y reconnait la majorité des musiques jouées, ce qui rajoute du plaisir au moment. Au niveau placement, nous avions choisit des places VIP donc même en arrivant peu de temps avant le début de la représentation, nous étions bien installés. Un entracte est prévu en milieu de show. J'avais déjà une expérience musique classique, mais j'ai beaucoup aimé le spectacle, les morceaux étaient entrainants et assez populaires, je recommande l'expérience.
