Perfect tour (and tour guide) for true history lovers

Exceptional. If you’re truly into the details of Habsburg/Viennese history (*and not just wanting a quick run-through of basic highlights), this is the guided tour for you. Well worth the higher cost and extended time. Our English tour guide, Ute (a certified Vienna tour professional), was fabulous - and funny - and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her as she guided us around the palace, the treasury, Sisi museum, imperial apartments, and all of Hofburg’s many noteworthy sights and anecdotal stories.

Great guide entertaining and informative

Barbara is a great guide. We covered a lot, from the Hofburg palace, Sisi rooms and museum and specially Imperial Treasry. Learned a lot about the history of Austria and the Habsburg family. Also gave us great pointers on our walk of the old town all the way to the Cathedral.

Expensive but worth it

First, I want to thank the local organizers to accommodate is so quickly. We booked the tickets and saw no option for language. When we received the tickets, the guided tour was in Spanish. We needed English!! We had no problem, getting an English speaking guide, even tho it said no changes can be made with less than 24 hr. notice. Thank you for providing us with a great experience. Secondly, I want to thank our wonderful guide , Angelika. She was our personal guide through the castle, the museum and the Treasury. Her explanations and recommendations for after the tour were fantastic

Fantastic Private Tour of Hofburg Palace

Sayed was excellent. Incredibly knowledgeable, with so much information and great stories about the Hapsburg family. We loved his attention to detail, sense of humor, and seemingly endless expertise. Sayed even generously took us on an impromptu walking tour Innere Stadt after our tour of Hofburg! All around a great experience. Can’t recommend Sayed enough.

Loved this tour. Our guide, Ute, was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to bring history to life for us. It was also great to skip the long lines at the several palaces/buildings that we visited.

The Silver and Sisi museums are a must-see if you are in Vienna.

The Hofbug is a large complex in the centre of Vienna with several attractions. The complex itself is evidence of the collossal wealth and status of the Austrian emperors. The silver museum is very complete; so much in a fairly small space. The range of objects goes from relatively banal cake-molds and dinner services to quite superb porcelain and silver collections. It is clear when comparing collections of different periods (especially with those in the Kuntshistoriches) that the taste of the ruling dynasties declined during the 19th/20th centuries from superb to kitsch: some of the pieces in this museum are so kitsch as to be grotesque. One of the rooms however houses a frankly magnificant collection of Imari's once belonging to Duke Charles Alexander of Loraine. This alone is worth the price of admission if you are an Imari fan as we are. The museum section dedicated to the life of Sisi and her apartments are moving. Take the time to read the texts displayed on the walls to understand fully the tragic life and personality of this legendary character. Would not have wanted to miss this visit.

This tour is a must in Vienna!

Great tour and our guide was amazing! Robert was just so nice and knowledgeable and it was well worth it to have a private tour. He took time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vienna.

Amazing tour

I enjoyed learning about palace and looking at the silver collection which was very impressive. What I enjoyed the most was going into the Sisi Museum and walking through her apartments and learning about her life. The guide was very informative and interesting and I learned a lot from him. Over all I enjoyed the whole tour.

Costly and needs more energy but beneficial

The reason I gave it 4 stars because I felt our tour guide needs to be more energetic. There were moments where I started yawning. A dense 3-hours tour is no easy thing with lots of information to digest and absorb. That is why a more energetic and exciting tour guide is needed for these type of things to keep us focused and engaged the whole time. On the other hand, I think the cost is a bit too much.

Unfortunately, the tour...

Unfortunately, the tour went so fast there was no time to look, savor and enjoy the beautiful artifacts. My tour was not the full length; we did not visit the Imperial jewels or other stops. The museum/palace was not busy and would have been easy to tour alone without a guide. My guide was,however, friendly, warm and knew history.

Hofburg and Sisi museums

Nice to visite this historical place. The ticket is combined with the Sisi collections museum. You can see the imperial apartment of emperor Franz Joseph and His wife Elisabeth. The collection of silverwares and porcelains in the Silverkammer is very impressive. In Sisi museum you see Elisabeth’s clothing and personal items. The display and the lighting of theses museums are dated.

Excellent tour

We had a wonderful tour with our personal guide who was so pleasant & knowledgeable. We were able to see everything in a very relaxed manner & learnt a lot of Austrian history.

Desastre absoluto

La visita ha sido una estafa. 511 euros para 4 pax y 1 niño. Estaba incluida (y pagada!!) la Colección de Plata que...lque resulta cerrada desde Primavera!! Y la visita a Hofburg no fue tal sino un paseo por la calle de 10 mins. Un desastre...no más Viator

Una gran experiencia!!, un sitio espectacular, y una muy agradable compañía de el guía Renato, hizo la visita muy agradable e ilustrativa.

Sissi è troppo presente

La collezione di argenteria e porcellane è bella ma forse eccessiva, essenziale è l’audio guida (inclusa nel biglietto). Il museo di sissi…. Si puo evitare ma è incluso nel pacchetto, quindi si vede. Gli interni (le poche stanze visitabili) hanno il loro fascino, sempre da seguire con l’audio guida. Non vi aspettate una grande ricostruzione storica. Sembra che per 600 anni sia vissuta solo Sissi

Majestoso

Trata-se de um majestoso palácio creio que do Sec. XIII que no passado chegou a ser residência oficial da família real, actualmente alberga o Museu Sisi e a Escola de Equitação Espanhola galerias de arte entre outros museus e salas imperiais. Como espectável a entrada é paga em consonância com a visita que pretendemos efectuar.

Notre guide, Romana, dans un français impeccable, nous a transporté pendant 4h dans l’univers du Saint Empire Romain Germanique, de la dynastie des Habsbourg, et dr l’Empire Autrichien. Le tresor impérial notamment est magnifique, les appartements impériaux touchants et Romana a su nous replonger de manière vivante dans ces époques grâce a une mise en perspective historique et diverses anecdotes.

Die Hofburg-Besichtigung des Schlosses umfasst auch das Sissi-Museum und die Silbersammlung. Wir haben eine kleine Gruppe, die Tour war gut organisiert.
