Fantastic walking tour

Getting to know Vienna

A great tour of some hidden areas of Vienna as well as some of the better known sites. Brigitte was an excellent guide with very extensive knowledge of the city and it's history. She also provided us with some excellent recommendations for the rest of our stay.

Amazing Vienna walking tour

Brigitte was our guide and she was amazing! She showed us the ins and outs of Vienna that you never would’ve found on your own. She gave us meaningful history of the places we visited. We even returned to a centuries old pub to partake like a local after the tour was finished. This tour was key to really experiencing Vienna. Thank you Brigitte!

Beautiful Vienna

Sabina was an excellent tour guide, catering our tour to the sights we were able to see in our short visit to Vienna. We saw many interesting spots that we would have missed if not for her trained and knowledgeable tour. Although the weather did not cooperate, Sabina remained upbeat and willing to continue in a driving rain storm. I highly recommend this tour!!

Good Tour for Avoiding Common Spots

This is an excellent tour if you have more than a day in the city. You will see more of Vienna which is off the beaten track, including some of the older buildings.

Our guide Sabina was amazing her knowledge of the city was outstanding, she had a sense of humor that kept things light and interesting . Even though the weather was not the best we made the most of our time with Sabina, I would highly recommend Sabina as your guide when visiting Vienna!

Very Fun Tour

Very experienced guide, with lots of stories and humor

Walter was great. He knew so much history and gave commentary and anecdotes, particularly on 20th century history, as we walked around the inner city in Vienna. He was also happy to answer all of our questions very frankly. It was interesting to hear a different perspective on some current world events than we tend to get in the US. A reminder that things are never black and white, only complicated and shades of gray/grey.

Hidden Gems aptly named

Sabine gave our small group of for an unforgettable experience. She moved at our pace and took us to areas of Vienna not frequented by the big tours. Really we’re hidden gems. What a great time. Thanks Sabine!!!

Fascinating Hidden Gems!

Bridgette was wonderful! She designed our tour just the way we had asked her to. We were joining a larger tour group the next day and she knew the things we would see with them, so she showed us all of the places that she knew would peak my husband's architectural interests. She finished our tour at a food festival where she showed us what would be good to eat. We absolutely got our money's worth and we enjoyed having Bridgette with all of her vast knowledge as our guide!

Delivers on those hidden gems

Walter delivered a delightful and informative tour of the hidden gems of Vienna. Lot's of very interesting things off the beaten path that you normally would not encounter and away from the mass of tourists. Never a dull moment. We both really enjoyed it.

Amazing and flexible tour built for you

We just got back from vacationing this summer, and had an amazing time while in Vienna with the Hidden Gems tour. My husband and I were in Vienna for a quick 2 day trip and we had never been. We decided to do a private tour since we didn't have much time and it was well worth it. Brigette was our tour guide and since we had not visited Vienna before, she modified our tour so we could touch on some most important aspects of Vienna while also including many hidden, more intimate gems. It was like walking around the city with a knowledgable family member which was perfect. Brigitte really knows the history of the city so well, and kept things engaging! If we visit again, we will definitely plan to reach out to Brigette. She does a wonderful job making Vienna accessible. We were thrilled to have her guidance and this was a highlight of our time in Vienna. Five stars!

Gem of a Tour!

Walter was a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable, we appreciated so much more of every site/statute/building we visited as he pointed out details that we would have missed on our own! Covered a lot of ground and enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend this tour

This was an ok...

This was an ok experience. We did catch a good glimpse of the inner city across the cathedrals of St Stephen’s, St Peter’s, St Michael’s and the Hofburg palace, but we felt a bit underwhelmed by the overall coverage and experience given the price. The guide was a bit tired perhaps because if the heat wave!

Great private tour

We had a wonderful private tour with Brigette exploring the magnificent city of Vienna. She especially custom made the tour to enhance our first time experience of visiting Vienna. She also gave us great restaurant recommendations and made a reservation for us at one of the must eat restaurants. We utterly enjoyed her company, and appreciated her sharing her knowledge on architecture, art, history and also her passion for Vienna. It was a great 3 hours spend on our first day to get a great sense and overview of what to explore in the city. Highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic private tour of Vienna

We had a fantastic and very enjoyable tour with Breigitte exploring the magnificent city of Vienna and all the "Must See" sights. Great Overview of Vienna!

Andrea, our guide, made this tour a wonderful experience. Her enthusiasm, energy and knowledge were distinctive. She not only pointed out the various sights to see but provided depth, background and context for why they were there. She was very friendly and she also pointed out good places to go outside of the tour (eg good restaurants, pubs, chocolate stores, etc). Overall, very enjoyable and great way to start our visit to Vienna to provide an overview of the city.

Great Start to Vienna Experience

Sabine was an excellent host for our tour. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and just as important, very personable. We scheduled the tour the afternoon of our arrival, and she kept us engaged (and awake) for the entire afternoon. She also provided a number of local restaurant recommendations off the tourist path. Hidden gems with Briggita

Briggita was amazing.. She took us by public transport and showed us much more than just the hidden gems!!! Great way to start our Vienna trip.

Andrea was our guide and she was EXCEPTIONAL. Our group of 6 did this on our 1st full day. She met us at our hotel. In addition to the tour, she showed us how easy it was to navigate the public transportation system which made our remaining days easier. She is very proud of Vienna and it came through in her tour. Wonderful experience!

I took two tours from Walter while I was in Vienna. The first day I saw all the hidden gems in Vienna. Walter is an amazing guide! I learned so much on my tours. He has an incredible knowledge of history. He also has a great sense of humor and is a lot of fun to spend the day with. The second day, he took me to the beautiful Schonbrunn palace. Walter also showed me the carriage museum which I thought was the highlight of the Shonbrunn palace tour. If I had gone on my own I probably would have missed this beautiful exhibit of imperial carriages. I highly recommend these wonderful tours! It is so worth it to take these private tours and get to see so many things that I may have missed on a group tour or by myself. I am so glad I got to see all the beautiful sights of Vienna this way!

Great way to start our time in Vienna

Had a great tour with Walter today with our college age daughters. He is very interesting and knowledgeable and it’s great that they customize the tour based on what you want to see and your interests. Vienna is a big city and this was a perfect way to start our visit here because your get comfortable with the transit system and layout of the city so you can make the most of the rest of your time. Well worth the money.

Vienna highlights

Our guide Walter was very knowledgeable and showed us the main attractions in Vienna. He met us at our hotel. The tour ran for 3 hours in which we walked, rode the underground, trained and caught the tram. We discovered that the 2hour pass that we purchased at the station covers all public transport, good to know. Our guide explained Austria’s history and architecture in depth and in a witty and unbiased way. Recommend.

A Most Enjoyable Tour of Vienna with a Great Guide

We were on a Viking river cruise that spent two days in Vienna. On the first day we had an included Viking tour that included the most popular tourist destinations. For the second day we wanted a different experience and with a private guide. We found Walter Schindl on TripAdvisor. His reviews were glowing and I liked the sound of his Hidden Gems Tour. In communicating with Walter before the cruise, he was very aware of where we would be going on the Viking tour and told us that he would show us different places. He certainly did! We just loved the tour. He uses public transportation, which is awesome in Vienna, to get us to different parts of town, rather than driving a van. It makes his tour more reasonably priced and saves time, since the traffic can be congested. It worked out very well. Walter is just a gem! He is such a pleasure to be with and is a wealth of knowledge. He knew not to repeat all the history of Austria that we had previously heard on other tours. He gave us information that was relevant to where we visited and about living in Vienna. I wish that we had booked a longer tour, so we could have spent more time with him, but we had a different tour we were doing in the afternoon. I have been with many private guides over the years. Walter is certainly one of the most enjoyable we have used. I can't recommend him more highly. You will be glad you booked him.

Awesome tour. Clear. Interesting. We fell in love with Vienna

We were exhausted after days of touring Prague and nearly cancelled the tour but thankfully we didn’t !! Alexander’s pace, knowledge and recommendations for our short visit in Vienna was absolutely perfect.
