Con, big con

Location misleading and concert not where advertised. £100 wasted. Spoke to a your guide and he told me this happens every week. Viator, you should be ashamed. Will only use get your guide from now on.

Service also important!

Second time to this show. Last time it was much better in terms of the service people. And booked as ViP guests we were handed over free CDs. This time , we were 2 mins late and even had no the printed program. The performance itself is good.

Venue Not Where We Expected

My daughter chose this concert as our family's one Vienna Concert. It was chosen for the music selection, as most of the family is not into Classical Music. The tripadvisor reviews suggested the location be verified before leaving for the concert. It was a good thing we checked the location while visiting the large palace outside of the city, as we were told the concert was in town. The concert is in an upstairs room of a "Baroque Palace" in the inner city. It is mandatory to check your coat, probably due to the size of the room. The chairs are quite close to each other and the room is fairly small. The room was full the night we attended the concert. My daughter, a Music Therapist, enjoyed the music and she felt the musicians were very competant. The rest of us were a little bored by the concert and we dozed off. I am sure there are better concerts to choose from in Vienna.

Its a great concert in beautiful palace . I enjoyed it tremendously . Highly recommend . One of the best memories from Vienna.

Beautiful Music …Beautiful Evening

A stunning evening of classical and baroque music from a very talented ensemble of musicians and operatic singers: An intimate setting filled with history - be transported to a simpler time where classical music could only be described as fine art. Highly recommended for anyone open to the spirit of Viennese music history.

Classical music in concert

This is a very vienna thing to do - enjoy classical music in a concert setting. The cost is 60 Euro and it’s a 75 min concert (string, piano, 2 opera singers) with popular pieces from Mozart Bach & Strauss that you will recognize. It’s a good way to start the evening and move on to dinner

Excellent evening of classic music

Excellent evening with classic music by excellent musicians. This 75 minute concert was entertaining and offered a small orchestra accompanied by two opera singers. A mature evenings entertainment. It just long enough and is good value for money. We enjoyed a taste of Austrian music future in a short evening, which was what we were seeking.

Must-do activity in Vienna

A highlight for us!

This was one of our highlights from our trip to Vienna. For a family that doesn't know much about classical music, it was perfect. We were approached by a man selling tickets outside of St. Stephan's church and were a little skeptical but decided to take a risk. It's a small venue so even though we sat in the very last row we felt "close up". The leader of the ensemble was great--she had a very dead-pan humor. We were pleased that there was some opera in the show as well and the opera singers had a humorous skit that gave us a chuckle. It was a nice variety of music, and the concert was not overly long. We had our 9 year old with us and he enjoyed it as well (thanks in large part to the entertaining opera singers).

Uninspired at best - choose another one.

Nice performance but uninspired and lacked energy. The ensamble we good but the the lead violinist (woman) was rigid. Did not smile, delivered her monologue without expression in Germany or English. The selection of material was fine, the classics, everything you know, which is what I wanted. But, the lack of enthusiasm was obvious and depressing. I bought the ticket outside St. Stephens church from “a guy”. He sold us VIP seats which I had to point out to the the person seating us. Not sure I really trust that process. The “concert hall” is a a bit off the beaten path. Regardless, it was ok just not what it could have been. I think of the dueling musicians in Venice which play the same music every night but “bring it”. This performance id not “bring it”. The venue is only ok.

Pure Vienna

The music was wonderful and the singing was outstanding. Such a nice space creating a warm atmosphere for all that attended.

Unfortunately kids are allowed

They allow kids and if you are unlucky to sit beside that kid who doesn’t understand classical music and doesn’t want to sit for an hour your whole experience is ruined. They didn’t give any information that kids are allowed or we wouldn’t buy the ticket. Otherwise it was a really nice show.

Wonderful Viennese Musical Experience

A wonderful evening of popular classics and opera selections in an intimate 100 seat venue that transports you back to a different era. We enjoyed the experience and will do it again if we're back in Vienna. Tickets are easily purchased from well-credentialed (and costumed) vendors roaming that streets outside all the popular tourist destinations.

Impressive

Very talented group of musicians and a couple of opera singers. We had VIP tickets so we’re front row. Felt a little intimidated being so close but got over that. The lead is very funny and can control a room with a look. Again just slight glances between for tempo or start but shows they’ve played together a while. Saw a picture later that the Aristocrats used to sit close to the entertainment so I put my princess crown on again. Lovely room. Time flew it was so enjoyable. Might be aimed at tourists, but that is what we are Bravo

There are no words to describe the fantastic magnificent program of this concert. The orchestra was just wonderful the opera singers were fantastic the staff was friendly accommodating professional. This was well worth the price. Beautiful room with great acoustics. Very clean

Great concert, weird coat check policy

Very good concert, excellent musicians and singers. Enjoyed it very much. The venue has a strange coat check policy that we thought was poorly enforced. We arrived early and they insisted we had to check our coats for 1 Euro. I went ahead and checked my raincoat. My friend refused because she said she was cold and didn't want to be cold through the performance, so they finally gave up arguing with her and let her keep it on. Next thing we know a whole group of people came in with a tour group and many of them had their coats on! Weird double standard, but I decided not to argue the point for 1 Euro. Other than that, concert was very good.

Good music, lovely room. Idiot behind me.

Well the concert started well. Clearly designed for the tourism industries with a selection of favourites that most people will know. I was going to give this performance 4/5. However after the first two songs one of the male employees sat directly behind me. During the rest of the performance he cracked jokes with his offsider sitting next to him. It got even better when he started whistling, humming and singing. Then after and before every song he turned into my personal air conditioner by clapping his hands so hard that I felt the breeze. Seriously mate, it's not a free for all. All your behaviours were outside what is expected of patrons at a classical music concert and was so disrespectful!!! I would not go again but then again who knows if I come back to this wonderful city. Either way I wouldn't be going to another concert if this behaviour by their employees is condoned.

Great experience.

Great concert with humour and recognisable music. The first violinist was amazing. The concert was further enhanced with the two singers.

Excellent performance by the Vienna Baroque Orchestra. Good choice of music - not too difficult to listen to and I had after the concert very good emotions. Definitely recommend for those who want to have a more intimate musical experience in an inspiring and baroque environment.

Great show, worth every penny

Great show, fully recommend to anyone visiting Vienna and wanting to get a feel of Vienna's beautiful music culture, the atmosphere was amazing.

Fabulous!!

It was a fabulous experience and a lovely musical journey. The setting was beautiful, in the Palais Batthyany, very close to Cafe Central. It was a gorgeous evening of famous instrumental pieces by Vivaldi, Strauss, Mozart, mixed with some very famous arias from the very best operas. I really recommend it it. I loved the concert so much I went twice during my stay in Vienna. Amazing Orchestra and amazing setting. Thank you for this fantastic experience!

Shady street vendors. Extra coat cost.

Scummy extra coat charge. Avoid. There should be no extra charge for the cloakroom. You can find better concerts for the inflated price. Avoid.

Fun evening of music in Vienna

The music was great. The lady leading was fun to watch—she commanded respect, even openly chastising a small group of audience members who were disrespectful during the performance. The musicians were engaging and talented.

Austrian culture for everyone. Over several hours our family enjoyed compositions by renowned Viennese artists, brought to life by contemporary musicians and singers.

It is highly recommended to clearly write the location of the event with a complete address. The details in Carthage were not clear enough and this caused us to get confused and to arrive at the Shanbrom Palace, which caused us to lose a few minutes of the event

Okay but could have been really good

A cute collection of Vienna appropriate classical tunes. All familiar and easy on the ear. I was accompanied by a young woman, who enjoyed recognising them all. The violin soloist was good and cute. The "orchestra" consisted of one piano, one violin, one viola, one cello (all three played by sour faced women dressed like they were in their back yard, not at all appropriate for a 49€ show) and a cute elderly man on a contrabass hidden in the back corner. And two singers who were cute. A lovely baroque room, okay accoustics, overcrowded, with terrible unsuitable misplaced modernish paintings hanging. Bottom line - could be a nice experience, but could/should be immensly and easily improved (even by some smiles and respectable evening-wear). All in all, we enjoyed the music

Memorable Vienna Moments

We wanted to experience a concert while in Vienna. The musicians and singers were fabulous! The setting was perfect!

Surprisingly good music and singers - don’t worry about the coat charge…

So we were all pleasantly surprised here. The musicians were very good, and the two opera singers were excellent as well. And don’t worry about the coat check charge so many people are complaining about. It was 1 euro per coat. I don’t think that’s at all unreasonable.

Go see them!!!

All players and singers were simply amazing! And the maestro was BRILLIANT!! A must for classic music lovers

Seating assignment policy?

I think Viator is not given priority to get good seats. There is no wavy to select your seat when you purchase your ticket. So you may get an end row seat in a class A seating area that is worse than a central seat in class B seating area. Several people got repositioned after asking about seating assignment policy. They showed the list and none of the central seating veas from Viator… For the rest, the concert is excellent and that is I only took one star away because of my comments

Great experience in Vienna

The music was excellent, surroundings divine. I would recommend this concert to any visitors to Vienna.

Lovely concert

It was a lovely concert in a beautiful room, we would definitely recommend it. There were only 2 things that could have improved the experience. The first one was that the room was too hot and the second one was that you had to pay to leave your bags and coats in the cloakroom, as you were not allowed to take them into the concert room. It should have been free if they are setting the rules.

15 Minute Walk; 69 EuroTickets Worth It

We were unable to get into the Opera tour at 4:00 pm, but on a whim we acquired tickets for the Barock & Klassik at 8:00 pm. The classic Mozart, Vivaldi and Strauss were the played as we know and love them, unlike some performers who modify the hits that made them famous past recognition. Walk was 15 minutes from the Sacher Hotel by the Opera. The opera soloists along with the concertmeister provided well-appreciated levity during “The Pfledermaus.” Spend the 69 Euros for the VIP tickets in the first rows which comes with a CD and drinks.

Highly recommended for all ages!

We are a family of 6: grandmother, father, mother, and children ages 14, 12 and 9. We all really loved this concert! The children told me afterwards they did not expect to like it — and they really, really did. The music was varied and the opera arias performed by very animated performers added to our enjoyment. I cannot recommend this too highly. The concert hall is a relatively intimate setting. Being seated close to the performers added to everyone’s enjoyment. We bought our tickets in front of the cathedral the same day from a man named Meti. +43 676 386 1071. One of my grandsons forgot his jacket after the concert and the next morning we found Meti and he helped us track it down. People could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Must see

Wonderful time. Most of the music was very familiar so everyone can enjoy the small orchestra time. My 11 year old son enjoyed a lot. Definitely want to see again if I have a chance to back to Vienna.

Concert in Vienna

Disappointed!! Classical music is an essential part of the Viennese cultural tradition. It is the home of the 3rd best Orchestra in the world, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. I bought 2 tickets from one of the sellers on the street and was, to put it plainly, lied to about this concert. I was promised a beautiful with highly skilled musical performance. Unfortunately that was not the case. Its a quartet with singing but in the brochure you can count at least 12 and no one will tell you that it isnt so until you see it yourself. It is not the money worth. Suchpotential, such a disappointment.

Marvelous Performance

We wanted to go to a concert in the Mozart House. Unfortunately, it was not open on the day we wanted to go so we settled for this. We were not disappointed. This was a stunning performance which included many very well-know classical pieces. The performers were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Although within walking distance of our hotel, it is a bit difficult to find because there are no signs indicating that it is a concert venue until just before concert time. We saw a lot of people arriving in taxi and wandering around looking like they had been dropped off at the the wrong spot. The venue is air conditioned, but barely. Expect to get a bit warm.

Terrible, wardrobe to pay and cold inside. Hope nobody visit this things for turist.they sell tickets on the street and the price is really not worth for the service

My second time

A few years ago, I came to see this concert with my partner. While in Vienna with my mother and sister, I surprised them with tickets. We were buzzing coming away from the concert. The atmosphere, the calibre of the musicians, the programme, the superb singers (I particularly loved the timbre of the soprano's voice) all combined to make the whole evening entirely enjoyable. So much so, my mother sent me back on our last evening to buy some cds as souvenirs of our "best concert" in Vienna. We went to three concerts in very different venues with very different repertoires on our 3 evenings in Vienna. Although all three were fabulous, this is our favourite. Thank you to all involved xo

Excellent way to start an evening

Inspired performance by Vienna Baroque Orchestra, enjoyed it so much with my family. After the concert go for a stroll around the city center.

Humiliating!!!

Let me start by saying the musicians and singers were superb! The concert was beautiful and it is in a lovely setting which accentuates the music. However, we had our 3 children with us, one of whom is a toddler. Now, the man who sold us our tickets approached us (with our children) and told us it was a concert FOR CHILDREN. He emphasized that it was 45 minutes so they won’t get bored, it was a small setting so they can see, and it is casual so kids can be comfortable. All of these things were true. Keeping reading… I’m a big believer that the arts belong to children as much as adults, and the best way to foster new musicians and patrons is for children to experience classical music—LIVE classical music. That being said, I also appreciate that other people spend good money to enjoy the music without the noises of children…So, when the man told me this was a concert FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN of course I jumped at the chance to immerse my children in music without bothering the stodgy crowd. Here’s where the trouble begins…When we arrived for the performance we were the ONLY family with children. The second I walked in the room a man in the audience audibly groaned at the sight of my youngest child. We’re were suddenly THOSE people. I was HUMILIATED and trapped in a room with no exit. I spent the whole performance on the receiving end of shushes, dirty looks, and angry huffs while desperately trying to subdue my toddler. I would NEVER have put us in that situation if the ticket salesman hadn’t specifically told me it was a child-friendly environment. This orchestra needs to decide who they are. If it’s a family friendly concert, make sure the WHOLE AUDIENCE knows it is family friendly. If not, don’t let the sales team approach families on the street and tell them to bring their small children to a concert. This evening was the height of humiliation for me as a mother.
