Classical concert Vivaldi 4 seasons in Karlskirche Vienna

Fantastic historic venue and amazing talented musicians.

We are not regular concert goers, but wanted to experience this whilst in Vienna. We are so glad we did and had an excellent time and really enjoyed it. We paid extra to sit in reserved seats near the front and were so glad we did as being so close, added to the occasion. Very well organised on arrival and in the venue. A fantastic historic venue and the talent and professionalism of the musicians was amazing. Not the cheapest of nights out, but we really enjoyed it and in the circumstances, worth it.

The concert was so wonderful!! The place and the concert was extraordinary. You need to go, was amazing!

Great but not the opera portions

The event and venue are very well organized and I enjoyed some elements of the show, but the opera singer's portions were quite boring. My favourite piece was Four Seasons, which the Orchestra played at the very beginning.

Vivaldi in Vienna.

The performance was first class and the venue is spectacular. The lead violinist was female which was inspiring and interesting.

Excellent musicians. Of course, the church was beautiful. I closed my eyes sometimes and it was magical. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Vienna.

Beautiful Venue, great ambience and fabulous acoustics marked the event. Audience were elated. Every noted was crisp. A must for every music lover.

A perfect ending to our stay in Vienna

The cathedral was a beautiful setting for the concert. Picked my tickets up in the afternoon so we were sitting very near the front. The musicians were exceptional and made our last night in Vienna very special. High would highly recommend attending this concert if you get chance.

Music, ambience. First classical concert with my wife. She loved it! Only recommendation have the seats be more padded!

Very enjoyable experience

Heard a terrific recital of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Not being a classical music enthusiast I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Musicians appeared very accomplished and provided a very enjoyable evening. The recital lasted just long enough as much longer it would be getting uncomfortable sitting in Categorie 2 chairs. Arrived 30 minutes prior and already joined a long queue. Always remember to convert reservation to tickets prior to arrival. I saw several people lose their place in queue because they had not got their tickets before joining queue. This was a Saturday night.

Relaxing but exciting musical evening.

Lead violin player showed great showmanship and the music was beautiful as was the church. The seats allocated via Viator were chairs at the sides so we were a little low down compared to people on church pews so the view of the instrumentalists was very slightly affected.

Amazing Concert

The setting is magnificent and the concert was masterfully performed. We traveled with my 20 year old nephew who later said that this concert was the highlight of his trip. The musicians were world-class and their passion for this piece was palpable. We purchased the Class I seats and were delighted with how close we were to the performance. A truly fantastic and unforgettable evening.

Try it, you might like it.

I’m not really a classical music lover so I was a little unsure but loved it. The lead violinist was superb. So glad I risked it.

Excellent Concert

Concert was excellent. Light blankets were provided to combat the cold interior of the church. My only advice is to dress warmly if you don’t like the cold. Although not necessary acoustically, I would also advise sitting as close to the front as you can to further enjoy the musical talent.

Perfect night, venue and great seats!

This was such a beautiful venue and the musicians were spectacular. I like how they have fun with the music and put their own improvisational spin on the music. I found it to be very nice that I was up in the front section as well…thank you!

The venue and string...

The venue and string quartet was great. all musicians were coordinated and flawless. The church was beautiful.

A must do Vienna evening

The cathedral was the perfect location for the concert. Beautiful cathedral with Great acoustics. Exceptionally talented and gifted musicians. They exceeded our expectations and played for an hour and twenty minutes.

This was a magical evening in such a beautiful setting. Do yourself a favor and book tickets to this concert. You’ll be glad you did.

Vienna highlight

The concert was exquisite. Easy entry into the magnificent church. Nine musicians and the lead violinist was masterful. Highly recommend paying a little more for seats up front (we were in the 3rd row) as the expressions on the musicians faces and observing their finger dexterity was captivating. Acoustics are great. Great experience overall.

The church was beautiful. The string ensemble was awesome. I really enjoyed it. I paid extra to sit in the front section. I’m glad I did. I would do it again.

If you only do one Viator excursion in Vienna this is it.

Outstanding. The performance was mesmerising. Best interpretation of Vivaldi Four Seasons we’ve ever seen. Standing ovation. Highly recommend.

A classical performance in Vienna a MUST.

We were unable to see a show at the Vienna Opera house - even tours were unavailable while we were in town. Viking had an optional tour/show featuring Mozart and Shubert, that by all accounts was a highlight of the visit for everyone that went - that included singing….. But, since I like to research my own “special” events, l found a great article about Antonio Vivaldi living and composing in Vienna for years until his death, and buried beside Karl’s Church (Karlskirche). And, discovering a performance of his “4 Seasons” by the Orchestra 1756 on period instruments, and it seemed like a great evening out due to the high energy of the pieces. The absolutely breathtaking venue of the Karlskirche Baroque church made the night even more special, but the musicians were fantastically talented and the lead viola was a rock star of a performer and conductor. We booked with Viator through TripAdvisor - booking early with the “best available” reserved seat option, which landed us in the second row where we could practically reach out and touch the musicians.!!! What a memorable night - THE highlight of our Danube Cruise.!!!

Great experience Vivaldi in church

Overall great experience enjoying Vivaldi’s Four Season. Church benches could be uncomfortable for some sitting still for a long period.

Great concert

The music was as great as the location ! It's a little chilly in the church but it was well worth the shivers and they provide blankets. The group was incredible and even as a non classical lover I really enjoyed it

Excellent musicians and a beautiful venue

Lovely atmospheric concert in Vienna. Beautiful Charles Church with a wonderful Christmas Market to browse around outside beforehand. Vivaldi and Vienna what’s not to like!

Cold but lovely

Amazingly talented musicians. The church is lovely and adds to the dramatic musical atmosphere. Be warned, although blankets and a cushion is provided, it's still very cold and the benches are un comfortable. Otherwise a lovely experience

Vivaldi in a perfect setting

Wonderful music in a spectacular setting. Warmed seats, the complete score w no break. Only detraction was the distraction of the soloist.

Excellent Evening ! Only issue was very cold and despite been given blankets we were very cold by the end of the evening.

Excellent experience just to see the beautiful building alone is worthwhile but it was very good and highly recommended if you have the chance

The music and the venue were both spectacular. The musicians were stellar, and it's worth paying extra to be close, as the acoustics in the back are not good.

Great Austrian Experience

It’s exactly what we were expecting. Well worth the money. Superb musicians! Grand setting. We went in November and they have warm air coming out from under the seats but no hats to be worn in the church - so warm feet, cold head. This didn’t take away from the experience, I’d still highly recommend it. We went to the Christmas market in the Museums Quarter beforehand so we had a great Austrian experience. Perfect!

Worth it

Excellent venue and musicians. The blankets came in handy since it was cold inside. The first 2 sections were really the best. It would be harder to hear if we were further away.

Not to be missed

Really great performance, we were lucky enough to be in the front row but the experiance would have been just as good wherever we had sat. Cannot recommend it enough.

Good concert, the main violinist was very talented. No electronic sound at all which is good. We had very good seats to listen to the music and appreciate the church

Gorgeous music in a gorgeous setting

What a gorgeous concert! All seats with a good view, great acoustics, what an experience hearing beautiful music notes slowly reverberate up in the dome and surroundings…magical!! 5 violins, a viola, a cello, a bass, and a harpsichord made big sound. Thanks to the musicians! A highlight of our Vienna visit!

Vivaldi Concert

Fantastic singer and orchestral performance. The lead violinist was in front of the audience for 1.1/2 hours without music sheets and was outstanding.

A sight and sound sensation.

The ultimate audiovisual experience. One can almost imagine sitting in this position 250 years ago with Vivaldi himself leading this emsemble.
