Our Guide was the Best Megan and our tour was so fun

Our guide made this the highlight of our trip to Victoria. Megan was so fun and energetic that she made the tour exciting. Going from place to place and trying all the hors d'oeuvers and drinks at each place with random Victoria history and fun facts. Our tour a full 10 people and everyone was like old friends by the end and I credit some of that to Megan for bringing everyone together and helping make all feel comfortable. Thank you for a Great time Megan and we were so happy that we booked this tour

Incredible experience with Jack!!

Jack was an absolute legend!!!!! What an incredible experience!!!! Went for December 2024 with family & friends and Jack was so great!! Cannot recommend enough. WHAT. A. BLAST.

Drinking, Walking / Boating around Victoria & hanging out with nice people!

We decided to book this Pub Crawl as a last minute idea of something to do. We were so glad we did & spent a great time with Jack (our guide & friend for the afternoon) & another very nice couple. It was a great 4+ hours of drinking at different pubs/bars & seeing Victoria's inner harbor by boat. The tour is a great value. As I mentioned, Jack was the best guide we could have had! Great story-teller with lots of knowledge of the area & just a cool guy to hang out with.

Pleasant Afternoon on the Bay

Our tour guide, Jack Berrie, was a delight. A good mixture of local historical knowledge, pub etiquette, and smooth logistician.

An easy, must do experience!

Big shoutout to Jack as our guide as we would go back in a heartbeat. He was a great guide and had so many stories and was non-stop blast on each stop. We had a group of 8 people in our tour and the pricing is unreal, given we took the water taxi 3 times which is $15 a person alone. Free appetizers at each stop. Will be doing this again on our next visit. Thank you Jack!

Awesome afternoon!!

We had SO much fun on this tour with Dyson, our guide! We met two other couples and had so many laughs! It’s a great deal considering a ferry ride is $15 a person one way. This way you get three ferry rides and delicious apps all for $55. Our tour was supposed to be three hours long but ended up lasting seven hours because we were having such a great time!!

Hurry up and Wait

Unfortunately the tour seemed unorganized. Spent most of the time waiting on a water taxi to take us to a bar. Once at the bar we were rushed to order a beer and eat an appetizer quickly. We then rushed off to the next bar.

Pros the little boats were fun part of the experience, to get around victoria. We also always enjoy meeting new people on these types of tours. Cons- My understanding is that the boats are fairly expensive, thus the food you are served is not great, as well the having to qualify for the food at every location meant everyone had to order a certain amount of drinks. Personally I think charging more and having the restaurants showcase better food would be advantageous for all. As well may I suggest the tour guide provide more information and history of Victoria at the locations etc, we have had this on other tours and enjoyed it.

We Had The Best Group In Victoria!

Memorable were the group and tour guide that made the tour most fun and exciting. The choices of restaurants and places were a great match for me. Our safety was very well planned.

The pub crawl by taxi...

The pub crawl by taxi ferries was great. Guide Dyson was great and alot of fun, and meeting nice people. Would have chose better restaurants. 2 out of 4 were good. Only 1 appetizer when expected 2. Last restaurant had disappointing appetizers. Minimalist nachos and bruschetta, I make much better at home.

Pickle Pub Tour is the best!

Jack was great! The brussel sprouts at Lure were outstanding! Shout out to our new Victorian friends we met on the tour. So much fun. Will definitely do it again!

Best pub tour in Victoria!

We had an outstanding pub tour with Jack! Each of the four stops were unique for drinks and a bite. We would highly recommend this tour, and if you’re lucky enough to get Jack for your guide even better.

Great way to spend an evening!

Jack was a fun tour guide! We had two couples and two sets of friends in our group. We had so much fun that the party continued after Jack went home! Cheers!

Great fun and laughs

Jack was brilliant….. we had a great day, good food, good drinks but especially good company. I would definitely recommend it for orientation of the city and enjoying a grand day out!

Exceptional Guided Toyr

We had a blast on this trip, celebrating our daughter’s 19th bday. Kristen was an exceptional tour guide, with endless stories, fun facts and just conversation. This experience was more than we expected and just fun! Highly recommend this your. Thank you Kristen for a memorable experience!!

Fun docent who was great and the people in our group were great. Don't eat before you go since there are plenty of snacks.

Pickle Pub Crawl - fun way to see the city

We had a great time on the Pub Crawl. The Pickle Boats were a lot of fun! Kristen was very engaging and full of interesting stories. Although we enjoyed all of the pubs we visited, the description on the website implied a format where we would select the pubs to visit. That description should probably be updated.

An enjoyable excursion

We had a great group of people of all ages. Jack was a fun guide. The taxi rides were fun. 10 Commons was our favorite stop. As in most places in this town, many steps are involved but not bad.

Excellent Pickling

Great tour. We had a blast. Our guide, Kristen was professional and had fun tidbits about the history of Victoria. The food at each stop was good. All in all a great way to spend the afternoon.

Thumbs up for Pickle Pub Crawl

Fun activity for anyone and a great way to see the harbor area. The water taxi added a nice change to our normal walking/driving routine. Our guide, Layla, was the best!!! The pub service was nice as our seating was reserved. Ordering drinks was not mandatory but each pub had a nice selection from which to choose. Two served really nice food with the drink service - two, the food was a bit disappointing. We recommend this activity when touring Victoria.

AMAZING!

KrisTEN was the best tour guide and it was a blast! We tried the SHAFT, sooo good! We had so much fun and awesome people, definitely would recommend!

Me and my friends were not in the group, we did not attend because of lack of guidance and instructions. I asked for refund then the company deny to do that. I will never recommend it to any of my friend.

Great idea, average execution

The idea of visiting a few pubs by water taxi around the Victoria Harbour sounds like a great idea. The problem is that not a lot of thinking went into it. The water taxis are a nice way of getting around, but the pubs visited were underwhelming and nothing special, while the included appetizers were, at best, mediocre. For the price, one could do better without the guide.

Great way to see the city!

We loved the experience! We had fun visiting with the other pub crawlers in the group. The water taxi rides were lovely and we experienced pubs we would have never found otherwise. The Fisherman’s wharf stop was our favorite. Jack was a great leader and super organized and efficient with the timing and coordinating!

Great evening event

We had a great time with our tour guide Jack! We loved the stops. If you are a hungry person eat before you go as the appys are not totally filling but the company makes up for it. We had another group join us and it was a blast. Thanks Jack you made our twins birthday memorable !!!

Great for occasions

I went for my 19th birthday and had a FANTASTIC time. Shout out to Jack for being a great tour guide, but the experience in general was so much fun. I recommend for any occasion

Awesome trip

Kristen was so great. She knew lots of info and presented it great. She was funny and kind. If you could request her you should. She gave us lots of great tips on things to do and we wished we met her earlier in our trip.

Best experience!! So fun & we recommend!

Great experience with our amazing host Jack w/ the best English accent! We took my 85 year old dad out on the adventure and we all loved it!! We got to see so much in the 3 hour tour, worth booking if you are looking for something fun! We loved the stops, drinks, food and boat rides! Jack got us all chatting right away and met some fun couples. We decided if we come back to Victoria we would book it again!

Pickle pub crawl tour

It was a lot of fun. We learned some interesting facts about Victoria and new places to go and see. Amber was our tour guide. She was informative, and easy going. She kept us on track and made sure we were all doing good. I will definitely encourage anyone to go for a casual fun time.

Wonderful tour!

We really had a great time with hidden Victoria's pickle boat tour. The operator, the guide, and the operation were fantastic. We managed to have a 4 person tour, and visited several places across the bay in the pickle boats. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Victoria. Took the earlier option so we could make it to our cruise ship in time.

Don’t Go on This Tour!!

This Victoria , BC tour was so disappointing!! The stops were not as indicated in the information provided at the time of booking. The information gave the impression that food and drink samples were included in this tour as part of this package for which we paid $130 for my husband and me. According to the information received, the second stop was supposed to be at Fisherman’s Wharf but it was not. The second stop was at Darcy‘s pub where the food sample was one dish of dry taco chips with a little bit of salsa for the five tourists in our group. (Waitress not very friendly). The third stop was supposed to be Songhees Walkway where we were to enjoy “a few small elegant bites and feel a little class…” Not sure where that was but it was not on our tour. Our third stop was at Fisherman’s Wharf but in order for our group to have enough pizza for the five tourists to sample we had to purchase eight drinks as a group. So my husband and I each bought two drinks so that we would (as a group) qualify for two small pizzas to share. The fourth stop supposed to be at Chinatown and the info provided said “let’s finish this tour off in the historical Chinatown walk-through narrow, alleyways past old brick Heritage buildings and see the beautiful Chinatown gate on our way to the last pub on the tour.“ None of this happened on the last leg of our tour as we went straight to another pub (Swan’s Pub) not even seeing anything in Chinatown There we were served a plate with 4 half pieces of dry bread with a small dish of bruschetta for five tourists. We had to ask for more and said there were five people in our group so they brought two more half pieces of bread. Really?! We felt as a group that the whole goal was to get tourists into bars to buy alcohol which at just about each stop staff were quick to get us all to buy. At each stop we had to order drinks which we found out at first stop that we had to pay for ourselves, drink them quickly so we could move onto the next stop. Jack, our tour guide was a nice enough fellow but we’re not really sure what his role was other than companionship. There wasn’t any type of presentation or tourism info provided or planned to present to the group. We spent $130 for a tour that gave us hardly anything to eat where we had to pay another $65 for drinks and tips. There was a couple from Australia in our group who we told that this all was not acceptable to us. They thanked us for saying that as they were thinking this was how things ere done in Canada. We are so disappointed and angry about the whole experience! I will be posting a review on TripAdvisor for people to avoid this tour at all costs!! We felt we were totally ripped off!
