Ubud silver jewellery class

Another fantastic Ubud activities experience. We added this onto the back of our traditional Taro village visit. Upon arriving at the home where we took part in this activity we were welcomed which indoor shoes to wear for the experience as well as a choice of tea, coffee or water and given traditional rice snacks. We were able to look at examples prices of jewellery ranging from an assortment of rings and necklace pendants to bangles and earrings, this really helped us to choice the sort of style we wanted. I chose to do a thin band ring with a gem stone (gem stones are extra IDR depending on chosen stone, mine was an additional 350,000 IDR) and my partner chose to do a simple wide band ring with engraving (came to over 5gram allowance and each additional gram is charged at 50,000 IDR). The guide spent one on one time with us both (we were the only ones partaking in experience) showing each of us the steps and us repeating them for our items of jewellery. We undertook the whole process from melting the silver to washing and polishing. The only improvement would be if we were offered boxes to keep these safe in especially with travelling however we were content to wear these when we left so was not a concern.

Taro Silver Jewellery making experience

The silver jewellery making was an amazing experience were the teacher would guide you on how to make silver jewellery ranging from rings, bracelets, earrings and pendants! We started by picking the the item in our case 2 rings! We begin the process of crafting our own jewellery by melting the silver, hammering to shape, engraving, filling to make flush, then we cleaned our rings and polished them! My partner choose a gem stone ring in which we had to pay extra for the gem stone which is optional! I choose an engraved pinky ring which weighed over 7 grams 2 grams over the 5 gram limit in which it was 50,000 IDR per gram over 5 grams! Since we were inexperienced we made a couple mistakes however our guide helped correct our mistakes and would help on parts we struggled to ensure our rings met the design we envisioned! Overall the experience was great and would recommend if you would like a taste of Balinese culture

Jewelry in Ubud!

Amazing experience with Bima, Komang and Diah. There were examples of jewelry on site so we were able to pick in as an example. Teachers were patient and kind. Venue was clean and open and the breeze was fabulous. Highly recommended.

Great experience for everyone

The jewellery we made turned out better than we expected. We aren’t very naturally artistically talented so at first some of the steps seemed difficult, but the workers really made things easier, fun, and interesting. Definitely one of my top experiences in Bali so far. I highly recommend.

Made a Silver Ring!

Fun couple of hours making my own silver ring. Selected the style I wanted and then personalised a little too! Great being shown and doing each stage, certainly engaging and supported through each part of making the ring. Would strongly recommend and have this very special ring to remember my trip to Ubud

Fun class. Learned a new skill! 1 instructor for my wife and I. Lots of hands on work, the whole staff is helpful and patient. We started by melting the silver and did a step by step to get to get to the finished rings.

DO NOT MISS

This was one of the best things we've ever done on a trip. I absolutely loved getting to work with the silver and make my own jewelry. I got to do more actual metalworking than I expected and our hosts were always there to help if I needed it. My wife and I had such a good time that we ended up asking if we could make two more rings. Kadek and Wayan were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this enough.

MK2 Silver Class

The couple who ran the MK2 class Kadek and Dia were excellent teachers and very nice. We throughly enjoyed the workshop and have 2 wearable pieces as keepsakes. However, the site does not adequately explain how to get there and there is another more prominent course, where we went to first. MK2 will provide transport for Rp300,000 which we would have used if we had known

Went on my honeymoon to make silver rings as a couple. Kadek and her family were very welcoming from the get go. We arrived early due to our transportation (again kindly organised by her team) and were able to start the session early. We were given clear instructions and able to partake in every step of the jewelry making process. Such a memorable keepsake and the end product looks like something you would get from an official jeweler. Unfortunately got more videos than photos of the process, so cannot show much.

My sister and I made each other rings and they came out so wonderfully! We had a part in every step of the process, but the instructor made sure to go over everything afterwards to make sure it looked perfect. The jewelry came out much shinier than I thought it would and was very nice. There were many, many options for rings. The necklaces, bracelets and earrings were a little more simple, but there were some very intricate designs as well (especially for rings). Definitely recommend 😊

Joyful Jewelry making with Daughter

My daughter has been working in Bali for a couple months, and I had to come visit (poor me). We decided to venture out and get creative. The artist and experience were a joy! I felt creative and supported in the jewelry making process. I do wish I had taken the advice and had the driver stay at the location!

The class was wonderful! It was two hours of ring making, beginning from melting the raw metal and forming into shape and then detailing and finishing. We're so happy with the finished products!

A great experience to remember

First of, the location is in a small village only reachable through lovely jungly roads and rice fields; so the scenery starts you off nicely. The workshop takes place on the second level of what seems to be the house the family lives in, which gives it personality. Fresh bottled water and fried rice crackers were provided! We were able to pick from many designs to base our rings off, while still being fully in control of the actual final design. Throughout every step of the process we were personally included and this really made us feel like we actually made the ring from start to finish. Our guide gave us many good tips and communicated well on what was required. Not a moment of negativity or annoyance was shown, even when we did something a bit wrong. We ended up with two great keepsakes to take home! By far the most enjoyable experience we had up until now during our stay. Highly recommended! :)
