Best cooking class in Ubud

My family and I was welcomed into the home of Putu. She taught my family and I 5 different dishes and had a great time . This was a true farm to table experience. Every ingredient we used was from her farm . We learned what a traditional Balinese house, their culture and recipes I would definitely recommend this tour with Putu to others

Relaxing and ejoyable cooking experience that gives a great insight on how the locals live in the community.

Leah and I had a great time visiting Putu's home and village, her hospitality was amazing, we cooked 5 Balanise dishes, all were really nice. Putu's home and cooking classroom were very neat and tidy, well kept and very hygenic. We are back home after our holiday and ready to cook the new food with the instructions she sent us. Thanks Putu, and good luck with the new villa and pool that is almost ready for you to host overnight guests.

The culture & good are incredible

Putu was the absolutely kindest and most welcoming hostess we could have ever asked for! It was incredibly engaging and the food was delicious! Recipes were shared and I can’t wait to attempt them again once we’re home. We started with a tour of her home then fresh coconuts and fruit from her land. Then had other traditional snacks before learning the way food is prepared. Amazing!! Can’t give it enough stars. Also, there’s tons to do in Ubud before and after the class since it doesn’t take up a full day.

Traditional Balinese Cooking

I visited Putu with my family today to experience a traditional Balinese cooking class. We had such a wonderful time. Putu was open, generous and knowledgeable, explaining and answering all our questions. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed participating in preparing Bali favourite recipes and eating the delicious feast that was made with organic produce harvested from Putu’s family land. My family and I agree that this was one of our highlights of our time in Bali and would recommend that anyone, of any age, who appreciates good food, would enjoy this as much as we did. Putu has even arranged for us to have a copy of the recipes so that we can recreate the meal when we get back to Australia. Thank you again for your generous hospitality Putu!

Authentic wonderful cooking experience

We had the most wonderful evening with Putu and her family learning to cook beautiful Balinese food. It truely has been a highlight of our trip. Putu is a great teacher and prepared everything so beautifully. I can confidently say this was our best Balinese meal while in Bai. We met her aunty who was weaving the most amazing fabric and were able to buy some magical table runners also. Bonus

Best first day in Bali

My husband and I took a private cooking class with Putu during our honeymoon, and it was an amazing experience! Putu was incredibly friendly and encouraging, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived at her traditional family compound. We were warmly welcomed with fresh coconut and fruit from her farm, including a new fruit we had never tried before—mangosteen, which my husband loved. Putu's knowledge of local Balinese culture was fascinating, and she generously shared her insights as she took us on a tour of her property. We explored their family temple, beautiful orchard, and met their chickens. The cooking class itself was fantastic. We prepared a delicious traditional Balinese meal consisting of several different dishes, all beautifully presented with Putu's signature artistic touch. After the class, she shared the ingredients and recipes with us so we can recreate the dishes at home. We left feeling very full and were even able to take home the leftovers. This experience was both authentic and unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to my friends and would love to do it again myself. Thank you, Putu, for making our honeymoon so special!

Best experience in Bali!

This was our favorite day in Bali! Such good food. Great instruction on cooking. Super organized! My son who is 11 did a lot of cooking . The family farm is beautiful with fresh produce that we used to cook. Even the chicken was from their farm! I highly recommend doing this class. The host is super warm and caring. If you want an authentic experience and want to learn about Balinese culture, do this!

Fabulous evening in a traditional Bali home

From start to finish this was a trip Highlight !! We were picked up from our hotel and driven to the host’s home. We were given a full tour of the culture in Bali. She had everything prepared for us for our cooking beautifully set up and well organized We were greeted with traditional coconut water drinks and provided with clean aprons Each course of the meal had fresh newly picked vegetables and chicken for the main dish. We were taught how to prepare the rice and all the food courses with step by step directions. Everyone was a participant. After the preparation and cooking we sat down to a beautiful meal which was so plentiful ! Our host was amazing, informative and ordinates a beautiful evening for us!! Would highly recommend !!!

Best Day of Our Trip!

We had so much fun at our cooking class - Putu was so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. She gave us a great tour of her home and we made so so so much food (and got to take home the leftovers). It’s a must do!!

Wonderful day with Putu!!

We had a fantastic day cooking with Putu, her cousin and Putu's husband. We learned how to prepare and cook Balinesian food. It was a hands on experience, and then we got to eat the food. I love spicy but my wife doesn't so Putu had twice us much work to do helping us prepare each dish two ways. We would highly recommend this cooking class, in their beautiful countryside outside Ubud. Have fun!!

Great cooking and cultural experience

This was a perfect experience. We saw the home, temple,garden and the home life. Putu talked about the way of life for the rice growing family. Then we started preparing a wonderful meal. She was a great teacher. She guided us through making sauces, rice, sauces and spices we were using. And then we got to eat. And then she sent us the recipes. I highly recommend this class. You will learn so much.

What a wonderful family and host. I spent the late morning and afternoon learning from the best teacher how to cook a traditional Balinese meal. Puta was kind, patient, and welcoming. She explained everything clearly and made our meal memorable. 5 stars!

Glimpse into village life - thank you Putu!

This was one of the highlights from our trip to Bali! Putu and her husband picked us up from our hotel and took us to their home where we were immediately given fresh coconut water in the coconut! It was so nice to go to their village away from the chaos of Ubud. We loved hearing about Balinese culture and walking around their farm where they grow most of the food. Putu was such a patient and kind instructor, and the food was delicious! We would highly recommend this class to anyone!

An unforgettable and delicious experience in Bali!

Putu and this entire experience was incredible! It was one of our favorite things we did in our entire Indonesia trip. Putu and her husband Pasta picked us up from our hotel and were so welcoming. Being invited into their traditional Balinese home was an incredible experience. And of course, the food we prepared with Putu, as well as the conversation and knowledge we gleaned from Putu was invaluable! We made so much food and it was some of the best we had our entire stay. We 100% recommend this activity - it's unforgettable. I can't wait to make these recipes at home and share Indonesian and Balinese food with friends and family. Thank you Putu!

We are a family of 4 with an active toddler and had such a good time at the cooking class. Because it was private we could take our time. My little one was very happy to be there. The family hosting us and the food were amazing.

Putu was our host. She and her driver picked us up promptly from our villa and took us to her lovely home. She taught us how to cook traditional Balinese cuisine with ingredients from her garden. The food was delicious and she is an amazing woman. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an authentic experience.

You Must Do This

If you find yourself in the greater Ubud area please take the time to partake in this event. It is well worth your time, energy and resources. Putu along with her husband Pasta picked us up on time and shared so much Balinese cultural wisdom on our ride to their home. Upon arrival at their traditional home we were explained the concepts of the temple home and the cultural concepts attached. After a nice round of coconut water, the cooking began. I’ve had several meals in Bali, but this proved to be the best meal we had. Please take this class you won’t be disappointed

Amazing food! Beautiful experience!

The experience was so beautiful and Putu is such a warm, friendly lady who was great to have chats and a laugh with. Her cooking class is very well organised in her beautiful home and the food is so delicious! I would do this class again to learn more of her amazing recipes and explore her family property during the day. Loved every bit of this experience for my husband and myself.

Putu was amazing! She was so gracious, giving and thoughtful. It was the best activity by far! I’m so glad I did it. She welcomed me into her home and taught me how to cook 5 items for a traditional Balinese meal. She taught me as if she was a professional chef. Each ingredient was displayed beautifully, she described each ingredient in detail, and shared its origin. Putu had me do everything from the prep work to all the cooking, she simply directed me. I can’t wait to do it again on my next trip! Highly recommend!

Traditional Authentic Balinese Cooking Class

What an authentic cooking experience with Putu on the family farm in a traditional Balinese house and setting. She promptly picked us up at our Ubud hotel for the 40 minute drive to her home. Everything we cooked was grown on her large farm - chickens, rice, sweet potatoes, corn, long beans, spices and more. We actually did all the cooking, not a demonstration class. We have taken cooking classes all over the world and this was one of our best experiences.

THE “Farm-to-Table” Experience

My husband and I truly enjoyed every single moment of this cooking lesson. Putu is very sweet and welcoming! She explains the culture and ideology of cooking beyond just cooking itself. Cooking instructions are easy to follow and beginner friendly. They ask for your input and feedback frequently. You can tell that Putu takes pride in her cooking. All the food we made with her tasted fantastic and fresh. It’s really the “Farm-to-table” experience that any foodie would appreciate. Strongly recommend 💕

Absolutely incredible experience, MUST GO!

Cooking with Putu was the highlight of our entire family trip! She was absolutely incredible, knowledgeable, and funny! My young boys (9 & 11) were fully involved and tried everything, even a raw Balinese chili pepper. The food was absolutely delicious and we were able to take our leftovers with us. I cannot speak highly enough of Putu and this experience, it’s an absolute must-do! We love you, Putu!

Outstanding cooking class on family farm!

My daughter and I just had the most wonderful time cooking with Putu at her family farm outside of Ubud. She was kind, patient and an excellent cook! Not to mention - the food tasted absolutely fabulous! What a gem of an experience!

Best experience in ubud!!

Putu is a really friendly and nice woman who can show you the art of Indonesian cooking with clear instructions and explanations. She also showed us around her house and was very eager to help us with any question or issue! One of the best experiences you can do in the area around ubud!! Highly recommended!!! The food was soooooo delicious and we could barely move because we ate so much of the delicious things we cooked together. Also big thank you for putus family and her husband for picking us up and driving us back to ubud. We cannot wait to come home and try to cook the food again :) Ask her to pick you up early to go to the morning market before the cooking class! That was amazing thank you!!!

Amazing private cooking class

We had such a lovely and enjoyable experience at our private cooking class. Puta was so friendly, kind and attentive from the moment we booked. She was very flexible with my husbands dietary requirements and allergies and ensured we were well catered for. She showed us around her home, the various temples and we even learnt about many Balinese traditions. The class was so well organised and her assistant seamlessly organised and tidied everything whilst we cooking. After making our 5 dishes, we were able to enjoy them with an ice cold beer. We took home the leftovers too- what more could you ask for? Thank you Putu! Couldn’t recommend this experience more!

Amazing way to see a true traditional intonation home and garden. Everything we used to cook was grown and produced on their family property. Putu was a great teacher and food was amazing. Make sure your hungry when you go as there will be lots of delicious food by the end.

Birthday Dinner

I recently traveled to Bali for a week to celebrate my 40th birthday. This cooking class was one of the first activities on my itinerary. Putu, our hostess, and her family were warm and welcoming. They taught us a lot about Balinese culture. Putu's recipes and instructions were easy to follow. The food turned out delicious. They even bought me a birthday cake! It truly was a memorable experience! It was one of the highlights of my trip and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Bali.
