A wonderful experience

The tour company is very professional and know what they are doing. We were picked up promptly at the time agreed upon, had a comfortable ride with driver Putu Anton, who dropped us off with Jero, the hiking guide. He was very helpful, and we were the first to get to the top at that particular day. He took us around the crater and we took a different route descending, quite rocky and slippery but he was very helpful along the way, holding my hands to make sure I don't slip. Just a note, if you need them to provide hiking poles, mention it at the time of booking. Or bring your own. This hike is rated difficult on AllTrails, so be sure to prepare. Wear proper hiking shoes, bring poles. Other than that, you can rest assured that the tour agency will take good care of you. Our guide took some amazing photos of us, I put one here in this review. He definitely knows what he's doing. Thank you Jero, definitely recommending him. We were then driven to a beautiful brunch spot with stunning views and delicious food. Our driver was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend this tour company.

Great day well organised and the hike was well worth the effort. Well worth planning in amd doing even with the early start. The cafe afterwards was a pleasant surprise.

Sunrise Trekking Mount Batur

One really great experience

The experience was great. All of the process was done smoothly. Our driver Putu arrived early so we could start exactly at 1.30. On the way there we had to pick up our friend from another location and that process was really easy as well. Putu the driver drove really well, let us play our own music and made bathroom breaks when needed. When we arrived at the mountain our tour guide Made was waiting for us. He was really lovely and hike went really well. We made well timed resting stops and the pace was really good for all of us. The view from top of Mount Batur was amazing. We got some tea and eggs when we waited for the sunrise. After the hike we went for the prepaid breakfast. It was really good and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. All in all we were really happy with this tour and the experience. Putu and Made were both really great and wish them all the best in the future.

Incredible Family Hike up Mount Batur with a 2 year old and 4 year old

We just had the most amazing family adventure climbing Mount Batur in Bali to celebrate my 38th birthday, and it was all thanks to our fantastic driver, Putu, and our super helpful guide, Made. From the get-go, Putu and Made made us feel confident that we could do this hike with our little ones, even though most places recommend kids to be 8+. Their positivity and encouragement were so reassuring, and they were sure we’d make it to the top for the spectacular sunrise. Putu was great – he showed up right on time with a big smile. During the drive, he kept us entertained with interesting stories about Bali and made sure we were all comfy. Plus, he turned into our backup photographer and snapped some awesome family shots. He also, arranged a car seat at very short notice to make sure the kids were safe during the early morning drive up from Ubud. Made was simply amazing. He was so caring and helpful with our kids. When our 4-year-old son got tired, Made carried him up the mountain like a champ. He even helped with our 2-year-old daughter when she fell asleep, making the hike so much easier for us. After the hike, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast organized by the team. The view was breathtaking, and the coffee was top-notch – a perfect end to a perfect morning. This hike was extra special because of Putu and Made. They went above and beyond to make sure our family had an incredible experience. If you’re looking for an unforgettable hike in Bali, especially with a young family, we highly recommend them. Thanks, Putu and Made, for making our Mount Batur adventure one we’ll never forget!

Stunning sunrise😎

What a fantastic trip. We were lucky with the weather but our guide Gede was amazing. He was friendly and helpful. He obviously knew where the best place to sit was and also got us hot drinks at the top. Views were stunning. About a 5k walk each way but not too strenuous. A bit slippery on the loose dirt on the way down but Gede held my wife's hand and made sure she was safe. So glad we did this. Excellent!!

Well Crafted Itinerary, Excellent Service!

This was definitely the best experience we had in Bali. The hike going uphill was tiring, but with the view of sunrise at the top all sweat are worth it. Our hiking guide Madeh, is a local from Mount Batur. Madeh is very experienced on the hiking trail, he also helped to encourage our 2 kids, age 7 and 8, to ensure we reached the peak on time. The hike downhill was rather easy, but the distance is longe, however, the breakfast at Okuta balanced off all tiredness. I will definitely recommend Madeh to be your hiking guide. Best of all we had been assigned to an english speaking driver name Putu. He is very experience on the road condition and is able to answer to all questions. Putu also ensure that all our safety and belongings is well taken care of. If you take up this trip, I recommend that you choose Putu as your driver.

Mount Batur

The view is so amazing, the guide is friendly and so passionate with our group especially 1 of our family member has weak lung so we stopped quite a lot.

Amazing Morning!

My guide Wayan Biduawan was truly amazing. He had everything timed perfectly so we could avoid the crowds and get the best spots. He provided so much information about the volcano which h was really interesting. I would not hesitate to book a excursion with him. My driver Bobby was also amazing and provided seamless transportation. Was a beautiful morning thank you both!!

Wonderful experience

The hike was challenging but our guide JRO was so encouraging and helpful! There is also a less challenging path for inexperienced hikers. We had such a great time and I would recommend this tour. The breakfast after is amazing. Our guide took lots of photos and videos of us at the summit which we appreciated.

Total Wholesome experience

The climb was challenging but not too tough. It was a good workout and the views at the top made everything worth it. Our journey up took 2.5hrs while the way down took about 2hrs. My guide (his name is Wayan Budiawan) is super energetic and made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. He also knew his way around the mountain which made the hike manageable. After Mt Batur, our driver agreed to take a detour to a beautiful hindu temple and even gave us a full tour of the place. His name is Putu Anton. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic Tour! Well worth the trek!

Certainly worth the early wake up! We booked this tour with less that 24 hours notice and the process could not have been any easier. Transport was organised seamlessly with a private car collecting three parties from separate accommodation. We arrived at the base of the mountain at about 4 AM and met JRO our tour guide. JRO was informative and friendly. The trek was on the difficult side. Those under 50 with a medium level of fitness will be fine, but anyone a bit older or unfit I would suggest taking the motor bike track (longer but not as steep). JRO will explain this to you. JRO did an amazing job at helping a 64 year old in our party when they needed it. Once you reach the pinnacle (which takes every part of the 2 hours) it’s well and truly worth it. The views are the best I have ever seen. It was busy at the top but JRO did a great job of finding us a quiet spot with a breath taking view. You get about an hour at the top to take photos, have tea/coffee and eat the eggs that were cooked from the heat of the volcano. The walk down is a lot easier than on the way up but does get a bit slippery on the loose gravel. We took the option to have our driver pick us up at the halfway point. Breakfast was a great surprise at the Okuta restaurant which gives you a great view of the mountain. A full cooked breakfast and coffee was provided free of charge. Tips: - this is a difficult climb, not moderate. If you are u fit ask for the easier option - ask if your driver can drop you a the halfway point - jumper is a must - take small money for the toilet - there are NO toilets on the mountain so it’s bush toilet only.

Had the best sunrise hike with JRO

We did the sunrise hike on May 20th and it was great! Neither my girlfriend or I had done anything like this and we are so glad we did. The driver pickup at 2:30 was a little tough to wake up for but our driver was there ready to take us. We showed up to the base area and were greeted by our guide (JRO). He was excellent! He was so friendly, gave us info about Mt. Batur as well as the other mountains in Bali we would see from the peak. On the way up he offered more insight into the local trees, plants and animals. At the top it seemed very crowded where everyone was setting up but our guide brought us to a pretty secluded spot where nobody had set up and then made us warm drinks, breakfast, and sat and watched the sunrise with us. 10/10 I would recommend. We did not do the breakfast in the restaurant and after seeing the restaurant we are a little bummed we didn’t because it was beautiful and overlooked lake batur. I highly recommend this company, our guide JRO and all the services they offer for the Mt. Batur sunrise hike.

Highly Recommend, Highlight of our Honeymoon so far!

We had a great trek up Mt Batur! Our guide was fantastic, the walk wasn't difficult but he was very conscious that it was steep and wanted to make sure we had plenty of opportunity for rest. We didn't see the sunrise unfortunately due to dense cloud but we didn't mind, it couldn't be helped although our guide was very apologetic! On the way down, he made sure we stopped at plenty of vistas and became our photographer, which was lovely. Couldn't recommend him enough! The breakfast spot was insane, genuinely the best breakfast I've ever had and the view of the volcano behind can't be beaten! Our driver Putu was great too, we got talking about local produce and coffee and he took us on a detour to a local coffee and produce plantation where we got a tour and got to see the process of making Arabica and Luwak coffee, and we got to taste it all too.

Beutiful sunrise from mount Batur

This was a very nice tour. Its a bit tiring to start hiking in the middle of the night, but it was all worth it. Our driver Kadek picked us up, and made sure that we had a comfortabel drive to and from the trekking place. When arrived, our guide JRO took over, and guided us all the way up to mount Batur and took beautiful sunrise pictures of us. He was calm and nice to hikig with. We were happy we chose this tour, and would highy recommend to choose this tour.

Unmissable experience

This was such an incredible experience by such a well organised and experienced company. Wayan Budiawan was amazing and I would recommend requesting him. He enabled us to be one of the first on the top so we had one of areas with the best view reserved for the sunrise itself. He also made food and showed us around some of the other steam holes and lava fields while we waited so that we were able to avoid any queues this made is such a more enjoyable experience for us. Wayan was really kind helpful and took some excellent photos for us (better than we could have ever taken). Putu Anton was our driver who was alsp very kind and proffessional. He arrived promtly and gave us a smooth trip up from canggu. His car also had reclining seats that he showerd us how to use to nap on route (which was great given its an early start). He also took us back to the hotsprings and for breakfast after the hike. He also offered advice on how to travel around for onward journeys. They were so hard working to ensure we had the best experience, thank you!

Excellent experience up Mt Batur

We did the sunrise trek today and we had a fantastic experience. We got picked up from our apartment in Ubud from our driver Putu Anton who was very friendly and professional the whole time and told us lots of facts about the area. We were then met with our guide Wayan Budiawan who made the trip 1000 better. When we arrived at the meeting point he gave us walking poles, water and a head torch. I struggled a bit with the hills and the walking poles really helped. This was something that a lot of the other groups didn’t have so we were really happy with the eye for detail from Wayan. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we were away from busy crowds. He did a fantastic job taking bespoke pictures and videos of us both at the top of the mountain and made sure we had everything we needed. This trip included coffee and eggs at the top of the mountain and was then followed by a lovely breakfast overlooking mount batur and the lake. I highly recommend booking with this company and asking for Wayan to make your trip extra special. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip!

Stunning views

This tour was amazing. For the price you get return pick up from your location, English speaking guide up the mountain, eggs and hot drink on top, delish breakfast with mountain views after. Our guide Gede Tono, was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable about the path and surrounding areas, not to mention an amazing photographer. Trek does require a basic fitness level, but cannot recommend this tour enough

Manku was a great guide and had a lovely sunrise. Well worth it. Good runners is a must and definitely needed the sweater. A small level of fitness is a help

Fantastic experience climbing Mount Batur!

We had an amazing time climbing Mount Batur! Our driver Putu Anton picked us up from our hotel at 2.30am and was so friendly and helpful. The walk itself is pretty challenging, especially in the middle of the night, so I’d recommend taking plenty of water and some good shoes! It took us 1 hr 45 mins to reach the summit. Our guide Wayan Budiawan was amazing, he got us all up the mountain with time to spare. Two of our group also decided not to walk the whole way once we were half way up so Wayan arranged for them to be taken up the rest of the way on motorbikes. A great option if you don’t fancy walking the entire thing. He also took heaps of photos for us (including a time lapse of the sunrise), as he knew all the tricks to a good summit photo! At the summit we had hot coffee and eggs cooked in the volcanic steam which Wayan sorted out for us. After we’d made our way down, Putu drove us to a cafe called Okuta for breakfast which had the most amazing view (and amazing latte art!). We finished the trip with a visit to a Ululandu Batur temple, where Wayan gave us a guided tour. Overall, a really cool experience that I would definitely recommend!

The BEST

Our hike could not have been better. Wayan Budiawan is the absolute best and took care of us! He is such a fun guide and took some great pictures for us to remember an amazing experience. Other guides and companies on the trek didn’t put as much thought and attention into their customers.. we couldn’t have been happier and HIGHLY recommend this company and this trek. Putu Panda was also a great driver and was very pleasant to be around at the early hour of 2:30a! We felt safe with him and enjoyed his company.

We had a lovely morning thanks to our driver, Putu, and guide, Made. The sheer number of hikers surprised me but Made knew exactly where to go and when to get some beautiful photos. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and is happy to show Mount Batur to visitors. Thank you for a beautiful morning!

The best experience of our lives!

Trekking to the Batur volcano is an unforgettable experience! Beautiful views, an unforgettable impression and the care of the best people. With a driver like Putu Pande and a JRO guide, it must be possible! We recommend it 100%! We had a great time, ate a delicious breakfast with a perfect view of the Batur volcano and tasted local coffees and teas in a lovely place. Thank you very much, guys! ❤️

Had such a great time with get your guide guide tour with private transfer. Gede Dastra picked us up and was super helpful on the whole journey. He told us about the volcano and local tradition. Couldn’t recommend the tour more!

Well worth the work to see that view!

We had an amazing time hiking Mt Batur with JRO. He was so patient with us as we were feeling a little under the weather that morning. He encouraged us to keep going all the way to the top and we were so happy we did. Not only was the sunrise beautiful, JRO brought us coffee and showed us how he cooks eggs in the steam from the crater. We also got to see the monkeys as they came out just after sunrise. I would highly recommend doing this tour with JRO.

This was an amazing experience. My driver Putu was terrific starting with a friendly face at 2:30am 😀. My guide Gee Tono was absolutely fantastic. He was very patient and helpful for me being a bit unfit. Quite a few stops and he even carried my rucksack. He found me a perfect spot at the top of the mountain and helped me take lots of great photos. The views were so breathtaking I was very moved. Can’t explain the experience other than it was emotional and special. The mood of others on the mountain was terrific too. The monkeys were cute and the steam coming off the mountain was really special too. Couldn’t rave highly enough about the experience or the company. The breakfast was great too. What a special time. I am now exhausted but happy.

The most amazing day ever!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of Mount Batur treaking. Their communication of how the day would run & their timings were on point, very very reliable !! We had the most amazing experience with them today and one we will never forget. The trek was hard but rewarding, we had the most amazing guide with us Wayan Budiawan, he is an absolute legend !!! Pushing us on and taking some great pictures on the way. We had a driver Putu Anton assigned to us for the day and he was also amazing. After the trek we went onto the white water rafting which was a perfect way to end an action packed day! Our guide on the water was Rye, he was so much fun! We all had a wonderful time doing the Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking private tour. Putu and Wayan were both a fantastic driver and mountain guide. All went smoothly and I would recommend to anyone wanting to do this Trek.

A day to remember!

I had a great day!! Pick up was 2.30am - early start but worth it! The hike was quite challenging for me. but my guide Tono was very patient and accommodated my multiple stops to catch my breath! Unfortunately the weather didn't allow for the Sun to pierce at the top, but in a way being in the fog and mist at the top was quite beautiful. Arya was my trusted driver for the day - taking me to the hike site, then to a beautiful hotsprings after, followed by a coffee plantation visit. I enjoyed Arya's company so much that I organised another day trip with him. He's very professional, nice and fun. I highly recommend both Arya as a day tour guide and Toni for the hike itself!!

Sunrise trekking and rafting - great experience

The Batur Sunrise Trekking and White Water Rafting package was terrific. Brilliant views from the top, great driver (Putu Pande) and guides for both parts. Excellent experience all around, would 100% recommend to go.

The views were so special!

The views were so special! Although we didn’t get much of a sunrise due to the cloud coverage, we still found it amazingly beautiful. Loved being above the clouds! And the steam and steaming the eggs was super cool! Our guide was so patient and supportive with our minimal fitness up the mountain lol Detouring us through the jungle which we really enjoyed. The hot springs afterwards was exactly what our body needed as well as the delicious breakfast with a view.

Amazing experience in Bali

Had an amazing time doing this hiking. Our driver Putu and our guide Jro were the nicest: on time, helpful. Jro guided us perfectly, took amazing pictures and share his knowledge on the Mount Batur. Really appreciated ! The hike is intense but not that hard and long, just a bit steep by moments. Jro adapts the rythm and you get breaks when needed. Highly recommend going with them if you want to do Mount Batur which is a must in Bali.

Sunrise trek

The driver Putu was very professional and helpful. The trekking guide Gede was very accommodating. The trek itself was a little more strenuous than I expected but I made it to the top successfully. The views at the top were fantastic! Afterwards, the stop for lunch was great. Good food, nice atmosphere.

Great Views!

Early start but the views are worth it!! JRO was a great guide! We started hiking around 3:30am and arrived around 5:30am. We opted to take the motorbike road instead of the car road which had less traffic. It was cool seeing how you can cook eggs on the mountain since there is steam from the volcano.

Great trekking and not only!

Must do experience in Bali if you’re looking for adventure! Both my guide Gede and my taxi driver Wayan taught me soooo much about Mount Batur and balinese culture in general, I really appreciated the deep conversations with them!

Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking

My friend and I had an amazing experience doing the Mount Batur sunrise trekking. We got picked up at 2:30 am by driver Putu who was very kind and the drive to the mountain was very enjoyable. We then had our guide Made who walked to the top of the mountain with us were we got two boiling eggs for breakfast and some tea. Made was very funny and kind and made sure we were comfortable walking at a speed that was good for us. We got picked up by our driver and continued to breakfast which we got to order in the car so it was ready as we arrived. The breakfast was phenomenal and the Putu was excellent and drove us back home. It was a very wonderful experience.

Nice and pretty easy hike

Me and a friend of mine took the tour with no sunrise option. We started from the hotel at 6:30, it took our driver, Mr. Putu a little more than an hour to get us to the bottom of the volcano. We started the hike at 8 am with the guide Mr. Jero. At 10 am we were at the summit. Mr. Jero put the eggs for cooking in the steam which comes from the mountain while we enjoyed the view. In 20 minutes the eggs were cooked, we had a short snack and went back. The way down took around an hour and a half. On the way back to the hotel Mr. Putu stopped at a nice cafe overlooking the mountain and we grabbed a coffee. Overall I enjoyed the tour very much. The ride was nice and smooth, our guide Mr. Jero shared some information about the volcano and the caldera it's in, and he was attentive to us at more difficult parts of the route. We were lucky because the summit wasn't cloudy so we could enjoy the view of the surroundings.

Memorable experience on top of Mount Batur

Amazing views on top, steamed eggs by volcanic vapor!! Yes. It's quite fun. unexpected monkeys that were fun to watch. The hike itself was quite challenging but well worth it. Highly recommend a visit to mount Batur!

Great experience with Wayan Budiawan and Gede Edi during the Mount Batur activity

Great experience received! Since most of the companies provide services only for groups, it’s hard to find an optimal solution for solo travelers. This company provide best alternative for good price and great quality. My driver was Gede Edi, who were really friendly and open minded. He was sharp in time to take me to the starting point. After the trip he was waiting for me, and let me fully enjoy my breakfast with a great view to the Volcano. Without forcing or asking any not-necessary and annoying questions. Which is great! Additionally Gede Edi suggested me some great places in Bali to look at and even kindly took me to the one of the place, which was on our way. We had a great conversation and my trip under his driving was safe and fun. Although, worth to note my professional guide- Wayan Budiawan - he took me to the top of the volcano very safely and fast. Although my fitness level was considered. Wayan Budiawan knows the way to the top perfectly well. And has always chosen a road that helped us avoid crowds of people on the way. He also very friendly, open for conversations and did lots of great content for Instagram!

Super tour with amazing pictures 5/5

Amazing tour. When you get to the top you really feel like accomplishing something. Hike to the top is quite tricky but so rewarding!! Our tourguide JRO was super and told us everything we need to know about the place. JRO is also super talented photographer so if you want good Instagram pictures, ask for JRO for your guide.

Amazing!

The trip up the mountain when smoother than we could hope for! Puta who was our driver picked us up outside our hotel and took us the the starting point. We were then greeted by our lovely tour guide who provided us with water and information on the mountain. We also were given food and tea at the top. Highly recommend to anyone who comes to Bali!

Highly recommended! Quite expensive solo but worth every penny!

Jro (guide) & Putu Pande (driver) were great! Both good English speakers and very welcoming! Jro knew exactly what pace to walk with me, told me about the mountain and was a fantastic photographer! There are 2 specific rest points, but Jro kept checking I was ok and could stop whenever. He knows his stuff and the walk was really easy with him there! Made me feel very comfortable as a female solo traveller. Picked up and dropped off at my hotel, the whole process was seamless. This is quite expensive to do solo, I paid about £80; but I am so so glad I did it! It is 100% worth the money! If you are in Bali and after a beautiful sunrise and medium trek do not miss out on this! So glad I got this experience whilst im here! Thank you Jro for being such a pleasant guide!

Unforgettable

Our tour guide, Jero Lanang made this experience so special. We got picked up by our lovely driver, Arya at 1:30 and began our private trek around 3:15am. When we reached the top at 5:15 Jero organised us the perfect spot and got us 2 delicious Bali coffees. He was full of knowledge about Bali and he made sure to get the perfect photos without even having to ask! Eggs were delicious and we had so much time to look at the views. We then went down and got taken to a beautiful restaurant for breakfast. Highly recommended this trip with this company, they made it amazing. From Tori and Scott x
