Best river cruise ever

Could not fault this amazing experience - from the vessel ( very clean and comfortable and pleasant to journey in) to the staff ( who were great, friendly and did an excellent commentary during the trip )to the food ( which was all local and simply delicious) We would all do this trip again !

A great day on the river. We scored it 10/10

The crew were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious and was served at an appropriate time. We took some great photos and will recommend this cruise to our friends. We appreciated the detour to watch some dolphins that the captain spotted.

A Wonderful Cruise and Overall Pleasurable Experience

A very pleasurable experience made moreso by the excellent tour guides Murray and Alanna. Great commentary, navigation & bird feeding. The food and drinks were excellent and we were made to feel like special guests and valued customers on the cruise.

Relaxing and enjoyable cruise with a friendly and knowledgeable crew

This is a really enjoyable cruise. The information provided by the captain was informative and interesting without being too detailed. The lunch was nice and as described. Some lovely scenery along the way and overall a really relaxing way to spend 3 1/2 hours. Good value and highly recommended.

Awesome

The Crew were wonderful. The trip up the river was amazing. We had beautiful weather. The morning tea and lunch were excellent. We had chosen the prawn platter. The size of the prawns was awesome. there were 3 of us, and we had a great day. Crew were very informative of the area.

Fantastic cruise

Very friendly staff and the food was awesome all fresh. Interesting talk about the cruise, Would recommend it . Our other friends came to 2 more couples they enjoyed it too.

Est time very relaxing and great service

My sisters and I had the best time a pleasure to go on this cruise the crew were great the food was very nice but the cruise itself was fantastic very relaxing and informative about the Tweed River and the price was fantastic for was was a very pleasant way to cruise the river thankyou eco tours

Good value for money

Great cruise and lovely lunch. Bit disappointing we did not make it to the rain forest as the weather did not permit. But overall enjoyed.

A very nice 4 hour cruise and lunch

Very efficient and friendly from the time we checked in till we left. The cruise was just the right length (in time and distance), very interesting commentary relevant to where we were along the route, comfortable seating and allocated tables- (but you could wander around and go upstairs at your wish). The lunch was just perfect, cold meats, fruits, cheeses, really fresh bread and the prawns were fresh and very tasty. We ordered oysters which were a nice starter as well. Bar prices reasonable and the staff were fabulous. Overall, would recommend this for a bit of local history and a very pleasant 4 hours.

Super Day on the Tweed

It was great from the start. Friendly efficient,fun. The lunch was fabulous enormous fresh prawns and much more. A group of us found it to be a lovely way to spend the day together. We are all over 80.

Beautiful day on the river

Took my elderly relatives for a day out, absolutely loved doing this tour. The staff were very helpful, friendly and the food was amazing. If you’re looking for a relaxing day on the water then this is the tour for you.

Great Service, great food and clean boat

Do yourself a favour and book. Murray’s knowledge was awesome. We learnt a lot on board and not over the top. Alana’s service and friendliness made us feel even more comfortable. Nothing was too much for her. She didn’t stop the whole trip. Thanks guys for a great outing and we look forward to coming back.

Great day out

We had a great day and Alana and Roberta were fantastic host, the Captain not so friendly, quite abrupt. Food was fabulous and plentiful, we would recommend this cruise.

Just a lovely reglazing...

Just a lovely reglazing tour up the Tweed River. The food was lovely, commentary with the history and points of interest and also the bird feeding was all above expectations. Just a lovely day out.

Tweed River Cruise

The views were amazing. The crew were fantastic and informative and lunch was amazing too. It was raining the day we went but that made no difference to our trip.

Good day trip

Found this a relaxing dinner cruise. Very well priced and received some good running commentary along the way without being over the top. The meal supplied was very tasty and the bar on board was greatly appreciated on a warm day. I would definitely do it again.

Wonderful Experience

We live locally and have been wanting to do this cruise for ages and are so glad we finally made it on board. The Golden Swan is an enchanting river boat, full of character and we loved lounging around on the sofas on the top deck soaking up the views. Captian Muz ran a great commentary and I learned so much about the river - there is much more to the Tweed than I had ever imagined. The scenery constantly changes. Arriving at Stotts Island which is covered in pristine rainforest was definitely a highlight, its a magical spot, and so peaceful. We spotted so many birds too, osprey, brahmini kites, pelicans and black swans. The grazing platters we were served for lunch were excellent, with all the produce sourced from within 80km. This cruise is wonderfully laid back and gave us a chance to really 'feel' the river, and Alessandra and Captain Muz took great care of us. This is a local, family-run business, that grew out of a love of the river, and the cruise is infused with the soul of the Tweed. Highly recommended.

The uncaring bar staff....

The uncaring bar staff. Looked and behaved like they didn't want to be there. Weren't helpful nor seemed tp care at all for a diabetic who needed something to eat while waiting 2 hours for lunch. No nibbles to go with the abundance of alcohol available. Couldn't hear Captain as brat children and their inconsiderate parents were non stop talking.

Not what you'd expect

Boring commentary, repetitive playlist made even more boring with their choice of music, lunch was a bowl of prawns that you peel yourself with a lacklustre platter, about 1.5hrs too long. Thought i was going to experience "rainforest" however it was mearly pointed out to us from the middle of the river. Not really suited for the young. The upside is that the staff were very nice and it was lovely to witness the 2 native birds that refused to accept food handout by the staff. The booze was reasonably priced too.

Relaxing and informative

The peace and serenity of the cruise. Excellent lunch and great information about the places we were meandering through.

Lazing up the Tweed.

Good food. Friendly service. Relaxing journey with lots to see. The only negative was a group of mates who talked during the commentary and made it difficult to hear.

We WILL go again! Maybe Sunset cruise next time.

Awesomely relaxing river cruise.

Wonderful relaxing cruises. Water was crystal clear. Amazing scenery. Dolphins came to the boat and rode the bow. Seen some amazing birds. Morning tea was waiting when we boarded followed on later was a beautiful delicious lunch, very well presented. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

3.5 Hours of River Bliss!

From the minute we booked to the moment we arrived back on dry land, we thoroughly enjoyed this unique Tweed experience. The staff in the office along with those onboard were accommodating and friendly. The food was plentiful, tasty and was beautifully presented. The onboard bar had a wide selection of delicious drinks. The only thing to rival the incredible hospitality we encountered was the magnificent scenery and splendour of the beautiful Tweed River. A must do for all those those lucky enough to find themselves visiting this spectacular part of the country.

Gentle cruise suited to retirees

A gentle cruise up river. Great opportunity to see and hear about the unique vegetation of the area. Would not suit young children or teenagers. Lunch was really only a ploughman’s lunch. We were surprised that there were no drinks (not even water) served with lunch. This was not a cheap cruise.

Golden Swan Experience

We had a lovely relaxing time on the cruise and I would highly recommend the experience. We saw dolphins and lots of different birds and the lunch was very nice. A great day out, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great cruise for elderly

There are few attractions for the elderly but this is perfect. Although older ourselves we found it, well a little boring but I think the demographic is much older than us. It is a shame they do not have a stop any more, that would have been really good. The lunch was fine, quiche, cheese, salami, ham and fruit plus prawns on the side. It was a very young man doing most of the work who didn’t engage with anyone, guess he is still learning. No birds of prey showed up. 60s music played, again reflecting the general age group. It was a nice cruise but not really our thing, but then it obviously suits others well.

Fabulous cruise

What a wonderful relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Friendly accommodating staff, delicious food (the prawns were amazing) all while cruising the river. We saw dolphins, stingrays, ospreys & many other birds. Highly recommend this cruise

Wonderful relaxing day out

We had a group of 12 'seniors' for a cousins' reunion at Coolangatta with family from Victoria, NSW, Qld, and decided this might be a decent way to spend the day. Well, what a fantastic day it was too! Relaxed, casual atmosphere with great commentary and beautiful scenery. We could easily move around and chat to people in different areas of the boat. The locally sourced food platter was delicious as were the prawns. Staff were so friendly and helpful. That evening everyone raved on about what a wonderful experience we had on the cruise. We 'locals' had no prior knowledge about the cruise but would now highly recommend it to either tourists or locals, as it was such an informative and visually spectacular day. Great work Tweed Eco Cruises!

Paradise

What a surprise to discover the beautiful sights on this trip. Paradise! Loved every minute. The delightfully friendly, helpful staff and their relaxed natures added to the enjoyment. I also enjoyed the range of food, especially the super-fresh prawns. As a solo, it was good to sit at a shared table and meet new people. I'll certainly do it again with some friends.

Disappointing

The structure of this cruise needs to be explained at booking. Put at a shared table of 6. Tour advertises a platter for lunch either with prawns or vegetarian, however when choosing vegetarian, platter contains meats, salami, non - vegetarian quiche. It also has fruit ,cheese and a vegetarian quiche. I chose vegetarian as I don't eat prawns but I would be disappointed at this if I was a true vegetarian . Quiche was not very good, overpowering cheese. All food scraps and rubbish were put in one rubbish bin from what I could see, I found this very wasteful. Not a good look for an Eco cruise. Disappointing and below expectation. I last went on this cruise in 2005 and it was exceptional. Will never return and will not recommend.

A great day out on the beautiful Tweed River

A terrific day out /- very knowledgeable skipper with interesting commentary along the way. Friendly and helpful waiting and staff on the boat. FANTASTIC lunch - local prawns and gourmet selection of cheeses, meats, relish, breads. Option to purchase fresh oysters too. Recommend this as a special day out.

You don't always need sunshine

Although the weather was not the best, we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. The welcome Coffee & poppy seed cake to start with, then the interesting commentary during the cruise as we drank in the beautiful sights along the wide, calm river. An interesting sidelight on the way back cruising into the canal development part way up the river and looking at the houses around the canal. The lunch provided was pleasantly surprising, lovely fresh prawns, meats and fruits with the seafood option, while the vegetarian alternative equally as good.

Well worth the value

As a group of 7 we all agreed we would highly recommend and definitely do another cruise on the Tweed River Staff and food was fantastic Weather was perfect for our day out with Tweed Eco Cruises

Bravo!

The whole experience was perfect. The commentary, the views and the food! Well all I can say is the food was amazing and way too much to eat. No one on our table could eat everything. Luckily, ‘doggie bags’ can be provided to take with you. We particularly enjoyed watching the birds of prey coming in to be fed. Well done everyone.

New respect for river system. Just do it.

The overall experience, food excellent, the commentary, crew, the boat, the river, we can't fault. Learning about the eco system of the river was really interesting. Loved cruising back at the slow speed with just music, it was so calming. Come away feeling so chilled.

Great Value Cruise

Excellent trip, authorities captain, giving educational data, in a simple manner, Food was superb, to say the least, truly abundant in volume, and served by very hospitable staff. Boat was immaculate, would without reservation recommend to one and all….GREAT value.

The food and service were first class. Commentary was excellent and very informative without becoming boring!

Tour guide and skipper were great. The Bird feeding and comments were really good as well. Lunch was well presented and very tasty.

Relaxating

Nice comfortable boat. Lovely seating areas on top deck. Lovely girl serving food and at the bar, very friendly. Other staff reasonably friendly. Food platter and prawns were good, although was missing a fresh salad. Definitely a nice day out for a mature audience.

Tweed River Cruise Wow

I took my Mother and we had been so looking forward to the day and it did not disappoint! A perfect day very informative and interesting lovely food, staff were friendly. would highly recommend. Tracy
