Great time in the Selvatura Park

We had a great time zip lining and hiking on the hanging bridges. The area is beautiful and definitely worth the visit. Only thing to keep on mind is that this is not a guided tour. It basically includes only admission to the park (zip lining + hanging bridges) and transportation to and from local Monteverde hotels.

Great experience but just take a cab and purchase tickets yourself

The zip line tour and hanging bridges were amazing and very fun. But it’s a complete waste of money to book through Viator. Simply take a cab directly there and buy admission. You’ll avoid the tremendous upcharge.

Hanging bridge not a Guided tour

Zipline was good. The Tarzan swing as well. The Hanging bridge tour was supposed to be a guided tour, however, we were told it was a self guided.

Ziplines are fun. Queuing was long.

Average experience. Ziplines were extremely fun as expected but the experience as a whole isn’t the best as the queuing is ridiculous. Over 2 hours. Not what we expected for the price. Tourist trap 🪤

Very fun activity, would recommend in MonteVerde

This was my family’s favorite activity in Costa Rica! Zip lining was fun, but adventurous. There were small kids and older adults participating and all did fine. Lunch was delicious, but we had to choose off a fixed menu rather than the larger menu, which i found annoying. Honestly though, my advice would be to book directly with Selvatura park. The vans pick everyone up together anyway, and then you can choose a la cart the activities you want to do. There was no difference in experience for us vs those that booked directly. All in all, highly recommend.

Awesome tour!! Worth every penny!!

I had this “Zipline and Hanging bridges combo tour with shared transportation & Guide” with my husband. Tour company’s guide came to pick us up in front of our hotel entrance (Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica) at 6:00am and drop us off in front our hotel’s main lobby at 5:30pm. We were 6 tourists (excluding driver & our guide) in the mini van which was comfy & relaxing for us and there were lots of empty seats. At first, We took the Zipline in “Monteverde Selvatura Park” which had 15 Zipline points including Tarzan Swing (optional), Superman (last one) and photographs (point 1 & 2). We just had to pay a little bit extra for Superman & photographs. It was very exciting & full of thrills. All the instructors at each point was very careful with everything & detailed with their instructions as well as very friendly & respectful. Every time they to took their time to recheck our harness to ensure the safety, gave us various instructions without any rush and then let it go. I would recommend to do the Zipline in the morning as early as possible because it will be less crowded & more fun. During our time in Zipline, it was only me & my husband; no other tourists were there with us and we had a feeling like whole rainforest only belongs to us which was great. I would definitely recommend this “Monteverde Selvatura Park Zipline” to anyone who have no health issues. Then we started our hanging bridges tour. Here, our guide took us through a 1.50-2.00 hours walking tour through the Monteverde rainforests covering all the hanging bridges. Our guide was very friendly, helpful & informative about the rainforest & biodiversity of the area and tried to show us various birds & animals. We saw black gum birds, a howler monkey and few raccoons. On our way back we had our lunch (included in the tour) at good restaurant and food tasted good too. Our return journey was very relaxing and enjoyable except the bumpy roads here & there. Through the whole tour, our driver was also very experienced & careful. Overall we are extremely pleased regarding our tour. It’s simply awesome!!

Adventure Paradise.

One of the best experiences, zip lining in the middle of the clouds, or at least that’s how it feels early on in the morning. This is definitely an adventure paradise. The hanging bridges are also very peaceful, and I highly recommend for families or folks that are not as physically active. We also added the sloth sanctuary experience, and I highly recommend it if you want to see sloths up close, this is your chance.

So glad we booked the transportation with the tour. It included a delicious lunch (my husband’s favorite of our trip), and very knowledgeable and personable tour guides that made the experience perfect. Great family fun!

You half right

Hanging bridge "tour" was inaccurate, it was a ticket to the attraction with an option to purchase a guided tour. The ziplining was awesome! For real though ya'll (THAT'S YOU VIATOR!) need to stop lying in here about the experience you actually get.

Great time on the zip line and hanging bridges

We did the zip line and hanging bridges tour and it was great. Checkin and start of the zip line tour were a little chaotic, but once we got to the first zip line station, everything went great. The final 1KM zip line is incredible. The hanging bridges are also great and you can go at your own pace. We saw several monkeys in the trees and the views from the bridges are terrific. Like checkin, the ride back to our airBnB was a little chaotic, but it all worked out in the end.

Awesome Adventure

Our family of 8 adults loved this adventure. The zipline was a blast and the Hanging bridges were so beautiful. It was a rainy afternoon for the bridges, but nothing a poncho couldn't handle. I do suggest a guide, which if you book with Native's Way, you will receive. We were shuttled from Tamarindo and it was 3 hours, but the guide broke it up nicely on the way with a stop at a local bakery for cafe and sweets. The ride home was bit lengthy due to traffic on Liberia which added 2 hours to the total return. Pura Vida!

Ziplining was amazing!

This zipline was amazing. They did it through Selvutura park. I highly recommend. My 9 and 10 year old loved it, too. It was the first time they ever ziplined and one was a little nervous. They loved it during and afterwards! Ziplining through the cloud forest was an absolutely amazing experience. It rained a little while we were there and it just added to the experience. The hanging bridges were beautiful. I might recommend just booking these activities directly through Selvatura, which was an amazing place. I would also recommend perhaps doing the lunch between activities jnstead of after. My kids were very hungry by the end. Or I recommend families bring some granola bars or something.

Not worth it - you can book directly through Selvatura instead

Unless you are using Native's Way transportation services to get to Selvatura Park, this tour is absolutely not worth it. We learned you can book through Selvatura directly and it would have saved us money. We chose the self-drive option because we had a rental car, and we were told to meet at the park at 9:30. We assumed we'd be met by someone from Native's Way, but we never saw a single person from the company. After waiting a bit, we went to the park's check-in counter and they passed us our pre-paid tickets and explained how the park worked. Native's Way giving us a select time to meet at the park was therefore unnecessary, particularly given the first zipline tour left at 8 and the next wasn't until 11. We also selected the "partially guided" tour option, which was also underwhelming. The only guided portion was the zipline, which wasn't really a "guide" more a safety instructor. The walk through the cloud forrest was completely self-guided. We had assumed that there would be a guide for a portion of the walk to educate us and the group on what to look for / interesting details about the forrest and wildlife, and then the remainder would be self-guided, but that was not the case. So PSA - that is what they mean when they say "partially guided" in the description. The lunch that was included was good - but we wouldn't have paid that much to eat there otherwise. So again, had we booked directly through Selvatura rather than through Native's Way - we would have done things differently and saved some money. The ziplining itself was really fun and we always felt safe - so we'd recommend Selvatura, just not Native's Way.

Incredible day with Ricardo!

We had an amazing time with our guide Ricardo. We ended up booking a private tour so that we could go on the day we wanted, and I'm so glad we did because Ricardo made it an extremely personal trip for us. His knowledge of the area, fun facts, and flexibility to show us other cool sights made for an unforgettable trip! Highly recommend booking with Ricardo if you have the chance, you will learn so much and laugh along the way :)

Highlight of my Costa Rica experience

The cloud forest hanging bridges were awesome! I love nature, so getting to walk through the forest and admire different wildlife was spectacular. We even saw some black Guam birds and emerald toucans! The zip lining was AMAZING. I’ve read some reviews who are disappointed the Superman isn’t included in the tour. Technically speaking, it is. You still do the zip line tandem, however, if you want to fly like Superman, it’s an extra $13. Well worth the price. I felt like I was truly flying and could have cried it was so amazing Photos of the experience was $20 for the whole catalog of photos they took. I also felt like this was a great value, considering that other places that do pictures like this charge the same price for one or two photos. Our tour guide, Manuel, was so friendly! This tour was definitely the highlight of my trip.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Zipline and Hanging Bridges Tour

This tour was spectacular! Cesar was our tour guide & Mr. Wilian was our amazing driver! The drive from Tamarindo to Monteverde was an experience in itself! The views were breathtaking & Cesar was very informative about all the towns we drove through. The hanging bridges were unbelievable. It's hard to put into words the visions we saw. Cesar taught us a lot about the plants & birds while we were there. We also got to see a beautiful Quetzal bird...which is very lucky! Ziplining through the forest was an experience we'll never be able to recreate. Seeing all different trees & plant life from above is exhilarating. After our tour, Cesar & Mr. Wilian took us to a beautiful restaurant where we had a delicious Costa Rican meal. Their hospitality was exceptional! Definitely a great life experience & something you should book while you're in Costa Rica! Thank you Cesar & Mr. Wilian!

Amazing experience!! Do it!!

We had an amazing experience on this excursion! Our guides Kevin & Nicole and our driver Johnny were so great, they gave us a ton of info about the region and the experience, and were all very friendly! It was a fairly long drive but totally worth it with a stop at fantastic authentic Costa Rican restaurant for breakfast, and followed by a two hour hike in the cloud forest with an hour long zip-line adventure. It poured rain while we were hiking, which was not unbearable but definitely bring a set of shoes, pants and a jacket that will do well in the rain. You can buy rain gear there but it is expensive. Zip-lining was so fun and we were well guided by the instructors. The views were unbelievable especially on the 1km zip-line at the end! We also stopped at an awesome Italian restaurant for lunch and it was delicious! We will absolutely be doing this same excursion again when we return to Costa Rica!

Exhilarating zip lining and cloud forest experience

Amazing to see the change in topography and flora. The zip lining was great. We had never done it before. We went in April which is still the dry season so it was perfectly clear and dry with great visibility. This was a long day for us because we left from Tamarindo for the Monteverde cloud forest. Had to leave at 5:30 am but was totally worth it. Our tour guide, Kevin, and driver Alex, did a great job. Was a long day for them too!

Amazing introduction to the rain forest and beautiful views

Well coordinated in terms of pick up and drop off. Our tour guide was excellent. He introduced us to several local birds during our hike. Following the hike we got to enjoy 13 different zip lines. The park takes pictures of you while zip lining that you can purchase for an additional cost. Following our visit, our tour guide facilitated a group lunch at a local restaurant that was enjoyable. This activity was one of the highlights of our visit. Be prepared, the drive up and down the mountain can be a little scary at moments but our driver was highly skilled.

Great day trip to Monteverde without the stress of driving.

Our guide Manuel and driver Ken were so great; they picked us up right on time and were really invested in making sure we had the best time. As other people mentioned, it's hard to spot animals at Monteverde. This was made worse because we had an unusually hot day that was very sunny. We managed to find two quetzals and a tarantula. Our guide even took photos with his equipment and airdropped them to us, so we have much higher quality images than we could have gotten ourselves. The ziplining was also a blast; at $40 for two people, we got the photo package; they make sure you know you only get pictures from the first two stops, so it was a lot of the same pictures in our package. I thought it was worth it. I didn't get the GoPro this time but would consider it. I also enjoyed swinging from the rope before the final zipline--added bonus is the second quetzal was there, up close! There is a weight limit of about 200 lbs, so do be aware of that if you are considering the zipline. I didn't feel that hiking boots were really necessary; a good pair of sneakers would have been fine. Considering that it's usually colder and rainier, something close toed with a good grip is probably sound advice. There are lockers there, but I didn't need them with this tour; our things were safely secured in our van, which was in a secure parking lot where the driver also remained. Definitely don't bring anything that is not secured on the zipline; I had a lanyard for my phone, and my boyfriend put his in a zippered pocket. Don't bring sunglasses or shoes that could fall off. If you have those, leave them with your guide. They will keep them safe. Lunch was at a nearby restaurant (not the park restaurant); I enjoyed my casado, and I heard the pizza was good, though someone recommended that you do not order the panini. The one thing that could be improved was the communication; the person of chat was very helpful, but we did have a little stress that the tour would be canceled because there was a minimum of 4 people required to operate, and it wasn't clear if we would be refunded had 3 more people not reserved at the last minute. It also wasn't clear to us that we would have been driven from our meeting point to another meeting point--if we knew this, we could have gone directly to the second meeting point, which was much closer to our hotel. The important thing to note, though, is they were excellent about trying to accomodate us; when we drove by our hotel on the way to Moteverde, they agreed to drop us back off there on the way back rather than add a few extra stops--even though it wasn't officially a pick up or drop off point. That saved us a lot of time and money; it was very hard to get transportation from my hotel (the Hampton Inn), and it took quite a bit of time to get to the next closest pick up spot so that's a good tip! Many companies would not have been so flexible, so I really appreciate that. They were polite and prompt, so even though there was a touch of confusion, I don't blame them for this. I'm very happy with the experience and the staff, and I would absolutely recommend them. So the key takeaway: try to ask them ahead of time what the route is. They may be able to help you if your hotel is not an official pick up spot, or they may be able to send you somewhere closer to your hotel.

Long ride but great time

Had an amazing time! Obviously it was a long car ride (3 and a half hours each way) but the Ziplining and hanging bridges were great. Our guide was Kevin Pina who was very knowledgeable about Costa Rican culture and also the costa Rican ecosystem! Recommend everyone to bring a rain jacket and long pants because it was quite cold and rainy when we got up there despite being very hot at our resort in guanacaste. Definitely recommend this adventure as long as you can stand a long car ride.

Absolutely recommend this tour, it was a blast! 12 ziplines total plus hanging bridges. The lunch was delicious, about 15 minutes away from the tour. Definitely worth the money

Over priced with badly customer service

My partner and I visited Costa Rica in January 2024. The tour was Over priced! We were charged 390USD for 2. Zip line+hanging bridges, basically you will see the same view. So we tried to replace the hanging bridges with animal tour in the same park (sloth+butterfly). They only gave us 40 mins sloth tour and wanted to charge $58 more on top of $390 if we want to watch butterfly. We tried to contact Native’s Way for a compensation many times through email and text, even went to their office in town. Unfortunately we were told nothing can be done. We’re not happy with the feeling of got ripped off. Will NOT to recommend to anyone.

Adrenaline high!

Talk about a rush! If you like that sort of thing you'll have a great time. Tour guides were fun and energetic. Remember to bring a rain jacket.

Fun flying through the forest

The guide was lovely. We sadly didn’t see any wildlife on this tour. What made up for it though was the zip lining. 13 zip lines, some super long racing way above the trees. Such a thrilling experience. Felt very safe, the guides on the zip lines also ride along the same lines.

Do not book with them

This was a very unorganized and disappointing experience. We were picked up on time but given no communication on anything. Drove to the Salvatura facility and dropped off without any details. Everyone on my bus were so confused. We proceeded to wait in line for 30 minutes to be checked in and were told we did not have a tour guide and that the Superman zip line was not included in our booking. This was very disappointing and annoying because I would not have booked this without a guide. The experience sucked. I reached out to the Viator booking and after hours of back and forth, they admitted fault and offered a $33 refund. Ridiculous. The zip lining was fun but could have booked that with anyone. Overall, there are other companies you can book with that will be honest about what you’re paying for and give better communication.

Monteverde Cloud Forest - WOW

Zip lining through the cloud forest was beyond all expectations. While we were not prepared for the drizzle at Monteverde, the whole family and the kids simply loved every bit of the hanging bridges, the lofty sights and the walk thru the tropical forest cover. This tour is a MUST!

Brilliant in every way

Around 10 zip lines with the opportunity to stop before the really long ones. Fantastic safety and incredible views over the cloud forest. Do the superman, it is really worth the views. Not to be missed.

The best combination experience of being in the Cloud Forest and Ziplining. Special thanks to Daniel, the Selvatura Ziplining lead. Daniel and his team went out of their way to take care of group members who had special needs. The team members were well trained and put in special effort to help those who needed it. The Hanging bridges part was not as exciting, but beautiful flora and could have been spaced out with a break for coffee. The lunch was exceptional at Bon Appetit. Transportation pick up and drop off was well coordinated. Overall, a must do , when in Monteverde

This was an amazing experience!! My guide was informative, patient, and very helpful. The zip lining views were incredible to fly through the cloud forest. After our guide took us on a hike through the hanging bridges and forest, pointing out different species along the way. It was a great day! We stopped for lunch on the way back at a delicious restaurant. Highly recommend!

Incredible Ziplining

Phenomenal ziplining. Long runs over landscape you’ll never see anywhere else. The bridges were OK, but the ziplining was incredible. As someone who doesn’t exactly love heights, I loved every second. Staff was very helpful and everything was so well organized so waits at each platform were minimal. Only thing is the road up to this place is treacherous. We self-drove up the mountain and for the last hour you’re dodging huge potholes on a partially paved road (at best) for some of the drive but mostly unpaved, on-coming traffic on an incredibly narrow winding drive. I would not have survived this trek in the back of one of those tour buses and felt safer doing it myself, but it was not easy. Plan it to take a really long time and be extra careful. Also our booking said it included lunch, but when we got there, they said lunch was not included even though I showed how it was included on our booking. So beware of the booking if it’s done thru Viator in that we had to come out of pocket for food. Still worth it, just hate being told we were getting something and then not getting it.

On top of the world!

3 hours of flying over the tree canopy, sometimes so fast tears streamed down our face- we could even see the ocean on the last 1 kilometer zip! What an adrenaline rush!!!

Zipline was amazing!!!

The hanging bridges and zipline portion of the tour was amazing! Didn’t realize there was SO MUCH hiking involved but it was totally worth it. Had issues with arranging pickup from my hotel and it took a few months before it was fixed (it wasn’t fixed until the day before the tour despite booking the tour months in advance). At the end, it worked out. My tour guide did his job but didn’t seem to really engage the group. The tour bus was VERY cramped (passengers on bus exceeded maximum capacity of vehicle) and uncomfortable for a 3 hour long ride each way, though. Overall, if you arrange your own transportation, you will enjoy this tour much better.

First trip to Costa Rica

Forest walk and zipline are excellent activities. Only caution, you will most likely not see many animals in the wild here. Way too populated with tourists and the zip line scares then away.

Amazing day adventuring in the rainforest!!

This was such a fun day of being in the rainforest!! We crossed 8 hanging bridges and 13 zip lines… it was beautiful. I also did the Tarzan swing at the end for an added adrenaline rush and it was soo fun (weight requirement of 200 lbs.)! Our tour guide, Jorge, was awesome! Very knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly and funny. We stopped for lunch on the way back and it was delicious. I recommend eating a substantial breakfast and/or bringing snacks since we ate a late lunch. I also recommend bringing or wearing some sort of longer pants and a light jacket/rain jacket. The temperature difference was about 20 degrees cooler than where we were staying (Tamarindo) and it was misty/drizzly. We were able to leave our things in the shuttle during the excursions and everything was fine.

Epic Adventure

Our family of six enjoyed two separate excursions with Native’s Way during our recent CR vacation. We did the zip line and hanging bridge trip and surfing lessons. For both trips we were picked up at the front door of our hotel (Planet Hollywood), and had the same driver each time (Didier - thanks. Didier!). Kevin guided us on the hanging bridge excursion to Selvatura Park in the Monteverde cloud forest (note: the zip line course is staffed by Selvatura Park staff - who are fantastic btw). While you can most certainly drive yourself to the park, pay an entrance fee, and DIY the activities (all of which would be cheaper, of course), if you went this route you’d miss the guided interpretation and local color of CR - all of which punctured this amazing experience. Not only was our guide, Kevin, very knowledgeable, he was also very engaging. During the hanging bridge excursion we saw howler monkeys, army ants (creepy, but a first!), and centipedes. After the appropriately 1.8 mile hanging bridge hike (8 bridges in total), which took about 80 minutes, we suited up for the zip line course. The course includes 13 zip lines. After a quick, but thorough, introduction to the mechanics of zip lining, we made our way through the course over approximately 2 hours. Our kids (aged 16, 14, 11, and 9) had a blast! After our time at Selvatura Park we headed down the mountain for a fantastic CR lunch in Santa Elena. The only downside of this trip is the long drive - about 3 hours each way. Pack Dramamine! But we stopped coming and going so everyone can use the restroom. Finally, the 2 hour surfing lesson in Tamarindo was a blast! Again, we got picked up at the front door of our hotel and were driven directly to the Native’s Way office in Tamarindo. We arrived about an hour before our lesson and started to explore the town, which we planned to do more of after surfing. Despite the incredibly windy conditions, we surfed. We signed up for semi private lessons, which was a 1:2 instructor/student ratio. The two instructors were fantastic. We spent time on the beach learning the basics and then surfed. The kids had a blast! After surfing we went to Volcano Brewing Company for lunch and then explored/shopped until departing back for our hotel at 4pm. From our experience, a lot about these types of trips - with Native’s Way or another company - all depends on the guides and the weather. In our case, we lucked out with great guides and good weather. If we ever come back to CR, or if friends ask for recommendations, we would not hesitate to go with Native’s Way!

Tamarindo to cloud forest day trip

Our trip with Cesar was fantastic. Of course the cloud forest was beautiful. We really appreciated Cesar’s knowledge of the flora and fauna. We also enjoyed going to the local restaurants. Would definitely recommend the trip to anyone who enjoys nature.

You can buy this package directly from selvatura park for much cheaper and have much more choice in activities. All that natures way actually does is scalp tickets. They buy the tickets and sell them you at an elevated priced. Just buy from selvatura park instead. Natures way literally does nothing.

skip the zip, go for the bridges

The line to get on the zip lines was over an hour wait. And of course they are zip lines, so you go very fast and then it's all done. The bridges were wonderful and amazing. Don't rush over them. There are 8 in total and worth the time to take in the view and enjoy the scenery.
