Great behind the scenes tour

The guided tour of the Sydney opera house was a great way to get a behind the scenes look at the architecture and design of this iconic landmark. The times of the guided tours were flexible with the meal. We went on the 9:00am tour and were able to then visit some other areas of the city before heading back to the Opera Bar later in the day for a late lunch/early dinner.

Awe Inspiring

This handicapped accessible tour was wonderful. The elevators need to be a little bigger for mobility scooters. Our guide (Nic) was fantastic. He gave us lots of great facts and made the tour very special.

A Tour Not to Miss

Visiting the Sydney Opera House was a dream come true for me; and I was not disappointed. Even though the tour was only about an hour long, a lot of information was packed into it. For me, it was simply a tour of “awe”. Being able to sit inside several of the chambers, the short lecture about the design, the architect and the architecture made me feel like a student hungry for the knowledge of this place. After the tour a nice bonus was your selection of meals from 2 different cafes on site was included in the tour package. It was nice variety and ample food servings and a drink. Thank you to our guide Sheila whose love for the place was definitely a plus.

A great opera house tour

Emily( who was excellent) was our tour guide. The opera house is beautiful and it was interesting to hear about the architectural history as well! She knew it all and presented it well! The lunch at the opera bar was also very good( fish and chips) . Eating out on the harbor walk was very pleasant as well.

Fun overall tour at the opera house

This was a fun little tour of the Opera House. We learned a lot with our knowledgeable tour guide. We really enjoyed the food and music afterwards at the Opera cafe. Highly recommend for anyone who is interested in more about the Sydney opera house.

Fantastic building with knowledgeable guide

The walking tour was well worth it. Good commentary and saw inside of both the main performance spaces. Amazing construction. The meal and drink was nothing special. You can buy the same items at the two restaurants cafe as the meal is just a voucher to use at either of those places. Not sure it saves any money

Opera house tour

The history of how the opera house was built was so interesting. I never knew there was a contest of submissions from architects all around the world who was involved in getting it designed The tour guide micheal was really informative and he told the story of the architects and engineeds involved. He was really good

AMAZING

It was an AMAZING experience!! I took loads pf pictures!! I never knew there were six theatres in the Opera House. I LOVED IT!!

Must see and do 💯

When you think you know something and then go on this tour it makes you realise what you don’t know and what a magnificent piece of Australian history we have. Our guide, Connor was not only informative but very amusing and was a highlight of the tour. Highly recommend touring Sydney Opera House. 💯

Great experience!

We learned a lot about the Opera House and the history. Our guide was excellent. Well worth it and qould suggest it for anyone.

A MUST SEE to truly appreciate!

This is a truly amazing place to see and I can only imagine what seeing a show would be like. You MUST do the "toured" version, where you get the true and professional background of the history of the Opera House from your guide through headphones. If you do this, however, I recommend reserving in advance AND taking the 9:30 AM, or later, tour. There is a meal and drink included with this tour. However, if you take the 9 am tour, you would be done around 10:15 and would have to wait 45 minutes for your meal and drink, as they do not open until 11 am. The building history of the Sydney Opera House alone is nearly breathtaking!

Iconic, don’t miss this tour!!

Amazing your just make sure you are in shape to climb stairs (about 300). The architecture snd story behind the building if it was incredible! It’s iconic and a must when visiting Sydney. Takes about 1 1/2-2 hours. Bring your camera. 😀 take the tour with food and drink! The meal is delicious and you can sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view of the Sydney Harbor.

Great afternoon!

Wonderful to see the iconic Sydney Opera House! Our guide (Emmy, I think!) was so kind and informative. We were afforded elevators, when possible - for we seniors! Gift shop has a lot to choose from and our fish & chips meal was delicious!

Fantastic Sydney Opera House + dinning experience!

Our Sydney Opera House plus dinning experience was outstanding! Nick our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Nick was able to get the group into listen to the symphony practice (which was remarkable) and watch the ballet practice (which was beautiful). After the tour lunch at the Opera Bar was delicious and a perfect way to end our experience. We highly recommend this experience.

A Must See!

The tour was amazing. We learnt so much and enjoyed the look behind the scenes. Madeline was a fantastic tour guide and the tour was made extra special because of her. We highly recommend this tour. We also had lunch and a drink at the opera bar included and we are so glad we did

Good tour poor quality food

The tour itself was great! The food was bad with limited options, and the server was very short and curt with us. I would opt to take the tour and just enjoy a meal elsewhere

An excellent guide took us on a wonderful tour of the opera house revealing the history of the building. The views looking out over the bay from within the building were fantastic.

Our guide really thought himself as a funny guy. We didn’t agree. We wanted the basics and that’s what we got. The lunch tickets moved us off site to a crowded beach bar. Again, the basic minimum was promised and delivered. Next!

Ship did not dock in time for excursion due to bad weather. Did not know how to cancel at that late date. Am sure the tour would have been good.

A worthwhile experience in a World Heritage site

Fascinating to see the architecture up close and to learn about the building process. Guide was very informative. We "lucked" out in that there was a rehearsal going on in the main venue. We were able to listen and watch the warmup for about 10 minutes. The group was quite large and our guide was a quick walker. Sometimes ,if we unfortunately got behind the slower members of our group, we did not have as long at the next stop to look and listen as when we were nearer the guide . Overall, a good tour and one we would recommend. We chose to purchase the additional meal component and enjoyed our food and beverage in the opera bar. As other reviewers have stated, you order from a more limited food and beverage list taken from the regular menu. The food was nice and on such a rainy day , we were glad to eat following our tour which wrapped up at 430,instead of having to go out in the downpour and try to find a dry,warm place to eat.

Very underwhelming Sydney Opera House Tour. Lunch choices as part of the package were also marginal

So looking forward to our tour of the Opera House and instead found it so underwhelming and disappointing. The audio was a very boring script that was delivered by French student whose English was marginal. Plus she was very young had only been in the country a few months and had no anecdotes to add to her narration. Further inside the opera house we never got to hear any audio to be able to appreciate the Acoustics l. It was a very ordinary tour that I will definitely not recommend to anyone. There was a little bit of history that was offered in a corner of one of the hall spaces where you had to sit on a rug......

Nic, the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the opera house. Two og the theaters that we saw had activities going on, which was wonderful to see. Getting the meal was quite tasty.

Would like to hear about 5 to 10 sec during sit inside stages . Need more big screen TV for section talk about how to build the Opera house

The Opera House was a true wonder as well as our guide Nicholas!

We cannot recommend the tour of the Sydney Opera House enough! Our favorite was the Great Gatsby room but other areas were very nice as well. Our fantastic guide, Nicholas, was incredibly well spoken and knowledgeable about the Opera House. He was, well spoken, always prompt and available to answer any questions we had, making the entire experience seamless. The food options provided during the tour were delicious, and we were thoroughly impressed with the job done on all of our meals. Overall, it was a truly great afternoon that we will always remember fondly. Thank you to Nicholas for a remarkable afternoon.

Beautiful and one of a kind design! So fortunate to have visited and toured. Attended concert later same day. Wonderful performance. The lunch included with our tour was tasty and generous!

A great way to learn about the opera house

This was a very informative tour although there were far too many people for one guide to handle. This was my second tour of the opera house but I did learn a few more facts and had increased awareness of what went into building the opera house. The dining portion of the tour was a tad confusing but the dining experience and the food served was amazing. A must do when visiting Sydney!!!

Lovely look behind the scenes of an icon

Great tour, loved hearing all about the architecture and design that went into building it, as well as the people involved. Very nicely paced and enjoyable interaction with our guide as well. I got the lunch after - was pleasant though a very crowded place requiring walking about for a while to find a table. But nonetheless enjoyable to dine in such an iconic spot!
