Average boat ride

Nice views but very noisy boat. Ok for commuting but for a touristic trip too basic. Boat was also going quite fast which gave the impression speed is more important then comfort.

Smooth ride

Excellent experience. Great and helpful crew. Smooth ride and comfortable ship. Really enjoyed being able to get to places without the hassle of driving.

Decent exposure to the harbor

Fairly inexpensive way to get a taste of Sydney harbor. More of a transport than sightseeing ad the boat moves fairly fast and you must be ready for the iconic views.

perfect way to get around

We booked the hop on hop off boat whilst in Sydney, perfect way to visit different destinations, clear instructions regarding times for getting back on the boat, departures were on time.

Sydney Harbour Cruise

Cruise started on time and all stops were on time as well. We enjoyed the views of Sydney from the harbour and especially enjoyed Manly Beach. We had several days in Sydney a few years ago and didn't make it to Manly Beach. This was the perfect way to go there and see the other sights as well. Recommend this excursion highly. It fit our timetable for our cruise ship stop.

Best views of Sydney .

A lovely way to see Sydney Harbour and all that it has to offer. Hop on and off as many times as you like or stay as long as you like. The views of the city, opera House and Harbour Bridge are just amazing from the water. Highly recommend.

Good trip

Very easy way to enjoy a couple of stops in the harbour. Loved Watson Bay. Manly very busy but weekend visit was great to visit the market.

Authentic tourist trap rip-off

From the moment the rude and passive aggressive man in the ticket kiosk takes your money, the whole experience has the irresistible feeling that everything has been done on the cheap. The main issue is that the app glitches the whole time and makes it broadly impossible to get any commentary while you’re on the boat. That being the case you may as well pay half the price and have a silent tour in Sydney ferries. When I said that we were having difficulty getting the app to work, the angry man in the kiosk shoved a photocopied sheet with the most perfunctory of descriptions on it through the window. It was not worth much. The company clearly takes the view that customers won’t repeat the experience so they really don’t care. Save your money, don’t be sneered at by a man in a kiosk. You’ll enjoy your visit a whole lot more.

Wish it were better

Too long to wait between pick ups at the different locations. Decided to pay for a ticket on a commercial ferry to get from Watson's Bay to Manly so we didn't have to wait so long.

Lovely well priced day tour from Sydney Central Quay for great views.

Took a day trip with this line. The wifi commentary does not work so don't bother with this. We went up to Manly and spent most time there. Also got off at Watson's Cove. If I was doing it again I would spend more time at Watson's cove. There is a great fish restaurant there, Doyle's. They also have a tearoom next to the library on the bay. The ferry is always very punctual and quick to leave the dock so give enough time to get to the boat.

Very Nice trip we can enjoy a vert good weather the beach in Manly is amazing and you can rent a Umbrella or a Cabana for a full day Watson bay is Also interesting if you want to walk

Hop on and off boat experience

The 3 of us were from US. We very much enjoyed the views from the boat, and it was easy to go in and out the boat even though we were senior citizens with knees problems 😊

Good trip

Going through the harbor and stopping at the stops. Particularly liked Manley Beach. Need to plan an entire day.

Don't use Captain Cook, they will leave you behind and not provide the refund they promise

Not sure which is worse · They intentionally, rudely denied us access to the ferry in the Manly suburb of Sydney, AU · Or they promised on multiple occasions a refund only to never process it My husband and I took the hop on/off ferry to Manly and when trying to get back on the ferry to Taronga Zoo we got left behind event though we were right by the ferry agent and spoke to her. In fact we apologized for the behavior of another guest that was being rude to her. We asked if the boat that was there was ours and she told us to wait for the next boat. When it arrived, she opened the gate for passengers to get off and then quickly shut it and walked away. We thought she would come back but she didn't and the boat left!!! We couldn't believe it as we were right with her and she knew we were waiting for that boat! As a result we had to pay to take another line and then got to the zoo so late it wasn't worth paying the entry fee. We emailed captain cook management and the apologized, asked for our credit card for a reimbursement and promised a refund that never came. They did not dispute what happened but didn't provide what they promised TWICE! Dont' waste your time or money with this operation as there are others to choose from and they surely can't be worse.

Cheap and easy

Easy, inexpensive way to spend the day. Fun to be on the water on a hot day. Only went to Circular Quay, Watson’s Bay and Manly.

Not a narrated tour

This isn't a tradtl hop on/hop off with narrative on the sights; it's an economical ferry shuttle to the primary stops which is fine. There's supposedly a self-directed phone app audio offered but no one could get it operational with limited service out on the water...

Hoho boat tour

Enjoyed the cruise around the harbor. On time and staff explained the hoho procedure. Recommend it as a great way to see the area by boat.

Nice to see Sydney harbour and to arrive easy to some hotspots

Easy to see and arrive to some hotspots, like Tongoronga Zoo, Mainly area, Shark island and Watson bay from which U can see easy the Tasmanian sea

Fake information

You publihsed 8 stops . but there were just four. We paid for the 2 day pass and just used one day because there where half of stops. think you have to refund the difference.

Wouldn’t do it again

It was fun to see the harbor but it took forever to get places. The staff wasn’t friendly on the ferry.

Great staff. Boats not too big with plenty of seating inside and out. Easy to book and collect tickets.

Limited time & it’s summer, should be open longer during summer

Your cut off to early of the afternoon @ we didn’t do much sightseeing & all we did is jump on the boat & enjoy the ride. It sad

Easy to use but don’t expect to learn anything

Don’t book at the ticket office as soon as you get out of the train station. Go find the Captain cook desk at wharf 6 as you will get stung for more at other ticket offices. Smooth but speedy ride would have been nice to have some commentary on what we were passing though rather than it feeling like we were on the local taxi boat

The boat and crew were...

The boat and crew were really good, I was disappointed as we booked a 2 day pass and on the second morning they cancelled half of the services. So we really didn't get what we were sold. I think if I went back I would use the fantasea boat as it is similar price but has a shaded section on the upper deck.

Wish I would have selected another cruise

Was not able to connect to the boats Wi-Fi to listen to the narrative through the app. Turned out to be an extended taxi ride.

Disgusting Service - No People Skills

On the return trip from Manly, we were no more than 10 metres from the Captain Cook Ferry and they could see us running to get on board and still they departed without us. Disgusting that they would not wait an extra 20 seconds for us to board. As there was not another ferry for another 90 minutes, we had to take an Uber back to the CBD. The weather was also cold and rainy. I will NEVER book another hop on/hop off with Captain Cook. Shame on them - we are 60 year old ladies. An Expensive mistake at $40.00 per person.

Good but could be much better

Captain Cook Cruise is definitely not the best way to get around to islands & locations (beaches) outside of Sydney Circular Quay or Darling Harbor. First, meeting points are NOT correct at Circular Quay and unless you research & verify when you are there, don't just think you've been given the correct info. Secondly, NOT enough times for travel between. I suggest the green/yellow city ferries that you can purchase daily passes and use all day where-ever you want to go!

Nice day out seeing the sights. Hop off and on where you fancy. lots of room and a comfortable boat.

Infrequent Service

Staff at the ticket office where rude. One man wanted us to ‘come back in 15 minutes’ because they where busy and checking in whale watching. He served the people in front of us who where getting the same ticket and there was literally no one behind us in the queue. We got to the ticket office at 11.30. The next boat was at 2.35. So just over 2 hours. The timetable is not displayed on the boat information at all. The last boat is at 5.30. They don’t stop at every stop on every journey. So this was a complete bust as we could only get off at 1 stop and stay for just over an hour. Waste of money for 1 stop. The timetable should be on the info section when making a booking. Staff on the boat where nice and there was plenty of seating onboard. But wouldn’t recommend if you want to make a day of it and get off at multiple stops.

Nice Cruise

The cruise on the harbour was really good, what would have been nice would have been more frequent pickups and drop offs and more places to be picked up and dropped off. Commentary would have been extremely good.

Chilly day on the harbour

Rainy cold day. Had booked 3 months ahead so we just rode around the harbour. Most people did the same. We were on with a group tour and even though we were there before, their guide cut in front of line and got the large tour onboard first. We stood outside in the cold most of the trip. None of them got off on any stops either, so not really enjoyable. View of harbour was great. Be advised to know schedule before you go so you’re not stuck waiting in the cold. We were not sent schedule and missed a boat by 10 minutes. Also note that not all boats that take off on that gate are hop on, hop off rides.

A day is not emough

Good harbor view of Sydney and the nearby bay ports. However, I find the turnaround time to catch up for the return to Circular Quay if we decide to hop on and off is not enough. The roundabout tour without disembarking is just about it. If we need to go on a visit to Taronga Zoo and Manly beach, we need to book separately than use this Hop on off cruise.

Great way to get around

Great way to get around the largest natural harbour in the world, if you're planning to do multiple stops, and pick up a few photos from angles you wouldn't otherwise get.

We had a wonderful time...

We had a wonderful time going to the zoo and Manly Island. The ferry was punctual and clean. The crew was pleasant and helpful. Well worth it.

Super way to see the harbour sights, very convenient schedule allowing ample time to enjoy food and drinks at your leisure.

Beautiful Sydney Harbor

A good way to visit multiple locations while in port on a cruise ship. We visited the tauranga zoo and then went to Manly beach for lunch and a walk along the beautiful beach. Given schedule when embarked and the ferry kept to the schedule well.

Ferry exploration

It was not what we expected but it did provide Ferry service to Hornsby Lighthouse for a nice hike. Each harbor stop was not planned well for exploration with the pickup Schedule

Circular tour of the harbour

We got the 1 day hop on hop off ticket from Circular Quay, which gave us a circular harbour tour with a stop at Manly to visit the beach, have lunch etc. Reasonable value compared to a harbour cruise, but more expensive than a ferry to Manly & back. There were 3 stops on our boats - the zoo, Watson’s Bay & Manly. The boat was more or less on time and the crew were pleasant enough. Sit inside or on top outside if it’s warm enough.

Great overview of the city and two wonderful beaches.

Great way to get an overview of the city and Manly beach was so easy! It was fun to see the two beaches on the tour and contract the classic family beach with the park and the cliff walk and the surfer young peoples beach in Manly.

Recommended experience.

Very convenient and worthily by the money. It recommended saving money in Sydney and getting to know the city closely.

Good ferry

Captain cook ferrys were spot on time, clean and staff were great. No need to get the two day pass unless the zoo is planned for a day.

Hot Day but a Nice Breeze on the Boat

I didn't do any hopping off but you could spend all day hopping off to the different sites. Even the Zoo. I mainly went for the ride and the view to take pictures.

A Fun Ride

The boat was beautiful and we enjoyed the different seating decks. The schedule worked okay and was easy to follow. The boat was always on schedule. Would have enjoyed a couple of extra stops around the harbor and it would have been nice to have a bit of commentary as we went around. It operated more as a ferry than a sightseeing vessel. The 2 day ticket worked well as we used it to go to the zoo.
