Stepping through Sydney history of crime on a night tour

Jade met us and from the time she started she told stories and history with a fun twist….. had the group act out some scenes of crimes! Very fun, lots of history, tales of penal history, bridge history and tragedy! The shark tale story with the photos to support! And the Luna park ghost train story was intriguing! A true mystery supported by more photos! Nice walk, as I’m waiting on a new hip, some areas were challenging, but not unmanageable. Very nice tour and JADE was great!

Amazing tour with Emily!

Emily was amazing! She had an insane amount of insight into the sights we went to and was super friendly. We loved the tour and learned a ton about Sydney. I would highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic fun!

I wasn't too sure what to expect going into this. However, this ended up being a fun, nail biting and intriguing experience. Emily our tour guide kept the energy up with her fantastic story telling and puns! This tour gives a great insight into sydney history all whilst you're having fun! Emily you were brilliant and a credit to your company! Will certainly be coming back.

The tour, brilliantly led by Katelyn, far exceeded our expectations as we explored, discovered and marvelled at Sydney’s criminal past in the iconic The Rocks precinct. Top notch work Katelyn - you kept your group engaged and entertained!

Ryan, the Crime Tour King

OMG Ryan was amazing! I was sceptical at first I would have a plausible experience but as soon as Ryan started the tour, it was full of facts, amazing story telling, puns, laughs, amazing vibes - the works. This man was destined to be a tour guide! This is one of the best activities I did during my stay in Sydney from Adelaide. I will be doing this again next time I visit Sydney!

Fun night with the Fabulous Ryan

A fabulous tour to do for something different & to get a great background on the history of The Rocks. My friend & I were a little lost finding the initial meeting place but our fabulous host Ryan called me to find out where we were & kindly guided us to the group. He had to call us twice - very much appreciated & going above & beyond to ensure we didn't miss out. Such a fun evening & Ryan's storytelling was full of interesting facts & lots of laughs.

Jade is AMAZING

Jade is AMAZING at her job. She has a great sense of humour, her dark humour included. Also being involved in re-enactments of stories that happened was also fun. I know the group I was with was a bit hard to please and 3 groups left early even though there was 15 mins left, but Jade did her best to uplift the stiffs, so I do feel sorry for her in that regard as Jade has such a bubbly and happy nature. Again, Jade is AMAZING at her job and her story telling, and I do plan to go again in the near future. Thank you once again, Jade. 10/10

Interesting and fun tour with Jade

Jade was very knowledgeable and didn’t rush to each destination. Interesting and fun that she included you in a couple of re-enactments. Learnt a lot about the dark side of Sydney /The Rocks. Highly recommend to go on the tour with Jade and her lantern.

Lark in the Park with Stories that are Dark

Our host was Ryan and we absolutely loved him! He was super insightful with all the stories, and had such a great dry, dark sense of humour. It was just my mum and I on the tour, and it allowed for such a personalised telling of the stories. The stories were interesting, the puns were better, and the weather happened to be marvellous - just an all around excellent time.

Great night out in Sydney

Ryan who led the tour on the 6th April was superb and never faltered in his telling of any of the stories. He led us all over the Rocks and the funny jokes he would throw in at the end of a story lightened the mood from the terrible story itself. I can't speak more highly of the tour & this guide was brilliant!! Cheers for the interesting evening.

Past true crime relived

This took us to a range of places we would never have gone otherwise. The tour guide was lovely helping us learn about some sad true crimes that happened in the area. Great evening out, would now be interested in doing more tours to learn more.

Secrets from a Dark Past

Jade was our tour guide, a very enthusiastic young lady who told the tales of a time gone past very well. Time was timed well and some interaction from those gathered. For a young English lass, she did her homework well. 10/10 Jade

BACK STREETS OF THE ROCKS

A different way to explore some of the back streets of The Rocks (with a couple of great photo opportunities stops), while hearing some interesting tales of crime and the law in years gone by. Our tour guide, Jade, was enthusiastic. personable and quite theatrical in delivering her versions of the crime stories from around the area ... the "reenactments" were a fun addition to the night. It should be noted though that the tour is really NOT largely on flat ground - there are quite a number of stairs, up-hill uneven roads, lots of poorly lit areas and only one location where you can sit down for a breather if you need it.

Interesting night walking tour through the Rocks.

We decided to do the Dark Stories tour as it was something unique and we were not disappointed. Emily, our tour guide, was friendly, welcoming and informative. Would highly recommend if you are looking for something a bit different.

Great stories and views

Fantastic tour that gives great detail in to the stories while getting to see the bridge and opera house from fantastic vanatge points as the sunsets. I dragged my husband along and he really enjoyed it too

True fun with True Crimes Sydney

Our Dark Stories guide. Jade, was knowledgeable and kept the group moving at a nice pace. The true crime stories gave a fascinating insight into Sydney’s lifestyles over the last couple of centuries. Getting the group’s involvement by role playing was great fun. Recommend!

Amazing experience, great guide and fantastic puns

We have decided to book the tour kinda last minute and honestly it was one of the best decisions we made. Emily was our tour guide and she had us from the very first moment, a good sense of humor and ridiculous puns that were just morbid and light hearted enough to go well with the tour.

Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We took a Sydney Dark Stories True Crime Tour around the Rocks on Sunday 28th of January. We were enjoyably entertained by our Tour Guide Katelyn and her knowledge of historical, criminal events around the Rocks area. The tour took us to unknown lanes and areas that as Sydney siders, certainly surprised us. It was an easy walk and the views around the area were just amazing. This is a great tour for anyone who is interested in the history of the area.

Fun family tour

Emily was a great guide. She made the tour very entertaining with her dramatic style of delivering the stories. Great family tour where you get to see parts of The Rocks that you normally wouldn’t explored

Fun evening in The Rocks

Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Sydney. We went on the Tuesday evening tour starting from Parbury Lane which was easy to get to. The tour guide Emily was knowledgeable and made the tour fun, exciting and interesting. Very easy to ask questions and we even learnt some things about Sydney and The Rocks unrelated to the criminal history too. The tour finished near Circular Quay and there is plenty of options around for dinner after the tour.

New light on the Rocks

Great tour with Emily, our group thoroughly enjoyed it and saw areas of the Rocks we hadn't known existed. Intriguing stories well told, lots of murders, hangings, blood and gore, which of course is what we came for. Lots of puns to lighten the dark mood. Well done Emily!

Completed the tour tonight with family found Jade very informative and at times and Quite funny for a redhead. Highly recommend a look at the history around the back streets of the Rocks.. All the best..

Had an amazing time, got it as a Chrissy present and was worried it might be boring. We had Emily as our tour guide, she was amazing! So engaging and funny couldn’t have asked for a better host! If you like true crime and you want a new experience would recommend.

Awesome Tour

We attended with my 12 and 14yo. All loved it even the hard to impress teenager. Emily was entertaining and spoke clearly so everyone could hear. She was especially welcoming to my 12yo who couldn’t get enough of the stories and had lots of questions. Definitely recommend, and will happily do it again at our next visit. Did see another participant take a slide on the steep pavement- so don’t wear fancy dress shoes like he did.

Fun tour with a bit of dark history

Jade was an excellent tour guide on the Sydney Dark Stories True Crime Tour. The stories were very entertaining and it was fun to include the audience in some of the story re-enactments. We had a little trouble finding the actual meeting location primarily because the streets are not as well marked as what we are used to. We actually arrived early and were able to switch to an earlier tour time to avoid a 45 minute wait. Definitely a good value for the cost!

Discover Sydney’s past in an interactive way.

Our guide, Jade, was punctual and full of enthusiasm. She made us all feel part of each story by role playing some of the scenes. We discovered parts of Sydney we didn’t know existed and learnt a lot about Sydney’s past. All the stories were interesting and I believe a walking tour is the best way to experience the secrets of Sydney. Highly recommend this tour for a bit of education and fun.

Recommend but the tour guide was too happy

The tour was great. It was great learning about some of the crimes around Sydney and walking through the small cobbled streets of Sydney. The tour guide was a bit too happy talking about the crimes and made us reenact some of them which made the tour overrun. I’d have preferred the tour guide to have been more mysterious whilst talking about the crimes.

AMAZING TOUR

THIS TOUR WAS SO FUN!!!!!! Jade, our tour guide, was amazing and engaged everyone thoroughly. I was so excited and interested the entire time and cannot wait to tell everyone what I have learnt. I LOVED THE ACTING PARTS THEY WERE SOSOSOSSOOSO FUN :)))) I got this as a birthday present and it's safe to say that it has been one of my favourites I have ever received:) DEFINITELY DO THIS YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!! :)))

Mate, if you want to spend ANY money in Sydney, this is it. Jade the tour guide is the absolute bomb. This is money really well spent.

Absolutely amazing!

I had an absolutely amazing time on the tour! It was so fun learning all the cool stories and exploring The Rocks in a way I haven't done before, Caitlin did so well making it interesting and fun in the way they told the stories and got everyone on the tour involved. It was an absolutely amazing experience

Simply the best crime your ever - MUST DO!

Our host Bryan started the walking tour in some grotty overflowing public toilets in a seedy alley, which was a surprise for some (especially all the small children and elderly grannies on the tour) but not for me, I thought it was brilliant as the opening stanza. We then went on to site two where we heard the stories of hundreds of untimely deaths thanks to the Sydney Harbour Bridge: star-crossed lovers flinging themselves to oblivion from the top of the arches, landing on a passing cargo boat that was being used to transport sly grog for Sunday pissups, which still continue today, particularly over at the Opera Bar on Circular Quay; disillusioned businessmen who spent their fortunes on hookers and snuff, one of which didn’t clear the razor wire near the outer lane below and was subsequently decapitated, his head later found on a stake some way up river near Paramatta at a Wednesday satan worshipping service; and then there were the 18 slaves who were building the bridge and when it came time to pay them management decided to just shove them into the pylon bases and concrete over them instead. Site three was what really sealed the deal for me though. As we stood in the dark, with the only illumination coming from Bryan’s 15th century led lamp, he began to tell the tale of Knobby Qui. Legend has it that Knobby, a Chinese immigrant and master of the dark arts, had been contracted by the Bling dynasty from his native homeland, to import into Sydney a lab-manufactured deadly plague virus that was to be distributed by rats, roaches and rabbits throughout the free world. After multiplying the virus expotentially, and genetically engineering super sperm for the rats, roaches and rabbits, he released the pandemic onto the Rocks. The population of Sydney at the time was around 75million but within weeks of Knobby’s exploits it had shrunk to less than 5 million and is still regarded as the most devastating virus in history. To round off the almost 7-hour tour, running from 9.16pm until around 4am, Bryan revealed his actual name was Glen from Penrith and none of this was even remotely close to the truth. 10/10
