Good museum; know nothing driver

The Bell museum was terrific. The driver was a nice enough young man who knew next to nothing about Sydney, the areas we drove through to reach the museum or the museum itself.

Nice Tour

Our group of 4 were met at the pier by Hinay Sareen, our taxi driver for the tour. He was very accommodating and answered our questions throughout the drive to the Bell Museum. The museum was very interesting and well worth the trip there. The town was interesting but most places were not open yet on May 22nd. We asked for a lobster roll lunch and he took us to one of the few restaurants open. It was overpriced and not worth the cost. However, one in our party got a Reuben sandwich that was delicious. Hinay stopped anywhere we wanted for pictures.i would recommend him as a driver.

Museum closed. No offer of refund made.

Booked the Baddeck and Bell Museum weeks before our cruise. We Repeatedly messaged requesting the timing of the trip and where to meet and finally heard from him the day before our scheduled trip. Cab driver was extremely friendly and kind, which was the only reason why we decided continue with the trip when we asked him to call to make sure the museum was open. There was no answer but we felt like the operator would have looked into this before accepting our booking and money, so we left. After driving 2 hours to museum, we found a sign on the door saying it was closed for the season. The entire town was closed, as well. The driver offered to drive elsewhere (several times) but after being in the car for more than 4+ hours with no stops for food/drink, we insisted on going back to ship. The driver was not at fault. He tried his best. We messaged the owner about what happened and never heard from him. Do not book with this company.

Unethical business practices and false promises

This company is unethical and not honest. My wife and I plus another couple booked this taxi cab tour for $400/cab plus museum entrance fees. We were told that it would only be four of us for the cab. However, when we met up by the cruise port, we were told two more passengers would be joining us, but our fees were not reduced. At the end of the tour, we contacted the owner (Simon) and he later wrote to us via WhatsApp and agreed to refund CAD$20 per person as a "good will gesture"! It has now been over six weeks and we have not seen any refunds except more messages saying he is checking and will get back to us. I do not believe anyone should book tours through this company because of its false advertising and false promises.

Top notch tour of the Bell Museum and Baddeck town

What a gem of a museum! Learned so much more about Alexander Graham Bell than what schoolbooks feature. He was our era's renaissance man with all his ideas and inventions! If you get the chance to visit you won't be disappointed. Husband & I took the tour while other members of our cruise ship went on a ship sponsored excursion and we were glad we chose this tour! Manjeet, out guide, met us at the port with our name on a placard and we had a nice ride through the countryside full of autumn colors.

27 and had a great time!

I went on this tour today. My husband and I had a nice time. It was a nice relaxing bus ride to the museum with beautiful scenic views. If you can sit on an aisle seat, the window seats had limited visibility. The museum was very interesting and offered some beautiful views. We had a great time. Our tour guide and bus driver were so nice and very informative. My only regret is that we didn’t bring cash and we were able to tip them! They were great!! Grateful for my experience and that they helped make this a positive experience for us.

What a surprise!

This is an amazing exhibit. The time line of Graham Bell’s life And the display of Artifacts is So engaging. The views from the Property are beautiful and very Photographic. Very enjoyable Experience.

Van tour thru Sydney local area and Bell museum.

Very nice tour through the local Sydney area to Bell museum. Van driver was friendly and knowledgeable. I had messed up on the time our cruise ship docked when I booked tour, yet we were still able to go and were graciously accommodated.

Baddeck is a beautiful small community and the visit to the AG Bell Museum was very informative

Our guide Manjeet was waiting for us upon disembarking from ship. He provided a brief history of Sydney, Nova Scotia as we were driving from town enroute to Baddeck. He stopped along the way for us as photo opportunities arose. We were given ample opportunity to visit the Alexander G Bell Museum in Baddeck and then enjoyed a nice lunch and brew at a local eatery. If you’re interested in learning more than AG Bell was the inventor of the phone, than I highly recommend this tour.

Very informative driver. A lot of great information. Perfect drive. Museum was really good. Because it was a taxi, the people in the back could not hear.

Great small group tour

Wonderful small group tour. Guide was very professional and did a great job. Learned much I didn’t know about A.G. Bell. Would highly recommend.

Our Private Excursion to Bell Museum

Ammi was an interesting person, after we adapted to his accent. We were disappointed in the museum itself, as there was very little on the phone invention itself. Also, we got stuck in a 30 minute traffic/road construction hold up. We stopped at a couple scenic spots, but was hoping for a bit more.

Definitely Less Than Was Expecting.........

This was quite simply a taxi ride....after a long drive we were dropped off at the museum-which was quite nice, but with no guide. Then returned to the cruise port with a very brief stop at a shop which offered a few scottish items which were very expensive. We selected this tour with the belief that we would be taken to a few sites of historical interest. The two ladies who also purchased this tour complained that Simon had promised an interesting tour. Very disappointing as we did not get to see any of the other sites that were offered to tourists.

Disappointed

We were very disappointed. This turned out to be little more than a cab ride to the Bell Museum. The museum was a self guided tour and provided to be interesting. The cab driver pointed out the lake (Bas d’Or) and made a couple of scenic stopped. He was willing to take us wherever we wanted to go but had no commentary of his own. The lady with us had printed some info of the area which she shared with us. All in all, very disappointed with the tour.

Excellent tour!

Excellent tour! Our driver made sure we got all the photos we wanted. He even looked up information about local flowers for us. Beautiful views, and the Bell museum is well worth the trip.

Too many silent moments with no guide intervention

We are the other couple who rode along with Heather L. Totally agree with her sentiments, With such terrible weather conditions the tour should have been cancelled. Our guide was not very talkative and long moments of silence were quite awkward. I had expectations for this tour as I believe in supporting small business. Other notes, no stop to eat. Very disappointed and in looking back I believe we would have been better off keeping our original excursion that we had made with the cruise line.

Total waste of a day…

We took the Baddeck, Bell Museum & Mini Cabot Trail tour. Simon was a little difficult to communicate with. He was not always responsive. We went ahead with the tour anyway. The weather was very rainy and lots of fog. We saw absolutely nothing except the Bell Museum. We essentially drove around for 5 hours in the rain. It was a total waste of a day. We thought we should’ve been offered, at least just to pay the portion of going to the museum. The operators should inform guests that if the fog was so dense that they would not be able to see anything and have an option just to take a trip to the museum. When we wrote back to Simon about our disappointment there was no response. Be forewarned about this tour!

We had a great tour. Driver was at the cruise dock to meet us as promised. He was very personable and accommodated our small group tour of six. Thank you.

Stopover canceled

Unfortunately the excursion was canceled because I was on board a cruise ship which was unable to make a stopover. I would like to thank Viator who reimbursed me given the situation.

Visit full of astonishing surprises about the history of this corner of the country.

Very interesting the life of this Mr. Bell. Who would have thought that the great inventors of this world met in Nova Scotia. And that Mr. and Mrs. Bell preferred to live in this place which is idyllic, let us remember. Mrs. has done a lot for the community. She was very involved. Very nice, accessible visit. Not to be missed! We have something to be proud of...
