Great staff on the ferry, snacks and bar available and optional island visit which is well worth it, highly recommend

Such a fun outting!

The Three Bridges cruise was so much fun! The boat has both indoor and outdoor spaces for the quickly changing weather, plus some higher viewing spaces too. The guide we had was so knowledgeable about all the history of the bridges and the River Forth. We saw a few seals and a few puffins, but all the views of the city and the riverside villages were just as amazing. The town of Queensferry was adorable as well, we spent a few hours walking around before and after our tour too!

Great afternoon excursion!

What a fun cruise around the firth of Forth! The crew was great! Hot chocolate was even better. It was a cold and rainy day but inside the boat it was pleasant. We saw seals and puffins and the views of the three bridges was unbeatable. It was long enough to enjoy it all and short enough we didn’t get bored.

Arrive early - meeting point can change

The cruise was great, the staff were great. Word of warning - arrive at the Hawes Brae “meeting point” at least 30 minutes prior to departure where you may find that, on any given day, the actual departure point may be in the marina, a 25 minute walk to the west. We only arrived 15 minutes early and had to get a taxi at additional cost to take us to the marina to make the boat on time.

Great Boat Trip - Great Company

A wonderful company. Our ship The Queen Anne was late in tendering into Queensferry - due to adverse weather. So we actually missed our booked time, BUT Liv one of the employees actually took us in her car to the Port Edgar Marina to catch another boat trip. The trip was very good. Three Bridges tour. I would highly recommend.

Excellent boat trip - so much to see, lots of interesting facts and very friendly crew

What a fantastic boat trip! There’s so much to see in 90 minutes and great to see the islands, bridges and also some seals. The trip is filled with interesting commentary and the crew were excellent throughout. Extremely friendly and attentive - a big thanks to all who worked on the 7th June! Couldn’t recommend this more highly.

Great cruise, a nice way to spend an afternoon!

This boat cruise was a great way to see Scotland from another viewpoint! The suburb of Queensferry was adorable, I recommend going early to walk up and down the quaint streets and stop at some local cafes, restaurants, and ice cream shops. The tour itself was excellent, we had a wonderful crew, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure to chat with everyone and point out some interesting landmarks and lesser known sights, such as the oldest aircraft carrier in the UK! We saw a few seals and puffins, and the bridges themselves are just incredible from the boat. I definitely would recommend!

Family friendly fun!

We had a wonderful time! We saw the beautiful bridges, seals, and even a little Harry Potter. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Edinburgh on water short cruise

We saw a couple of puffins, very exciting, seals resting on a buoy, castles and wonderful scenery. A great tour👍

I enjoyed that cruise as...

I enjoyed that cruise as never experienced as exciting one as that ,lovely crew and informative as well ,however I didn't like the fact the meeting point has changed without contacting us and we knew on arrival to the old point about it, so we had to walk around 25 mins and get the next cruise ,the lady in the office mentioned she sent us an email -never happened-,also claimed I put incorrect mobile number so she couldn't reach me ,this was a lie unfortunately .that the only turnoff about the cruise ,otherwise I enjoyed alot.

Absolutely brilliant

Couldn’t recommend this trip enough. Boat was great, staff extremely helpful, informative commentary, brilliant views - what’s not to like. We got off on the island for 90 mins which is well worth the extra £7.50 each. You get full access to the Abbey, toilets, fortifications, gift shop etc. read the reviews though and if you have to go in May like we did you may be put off by the aggressive gulls if you leave the immediate vicinity of the Abbey. One the boat trip we saw seals and puffins which was a real thrill. The views of the three bridges was also awesome. One we’d thing, check the prices on the Virgin experiences website.?We booked through that paid about £14 less

Great value

We booked this tour primarely for the bridges, however the entire harbour, marine life seeing the coast line form the water was incredable! The cost of this trip is a real value for your money.. we even saw Puffins!!!!

Brilliant

Staff were amazing so friendly and pointing out other places to go and things of interest. My Grandson had a fab time even spotted a seal 🦭 😀 Would definitely recommend this and plan on going again but with a stop off at the Island. Thanks crew you were brilliant

Superb!!

Really nice! They crew was really amazing! Especially when they tell you when to get your cameras out to take pictures of seals and some amazing views. It was worth every penny. It is not just a cruise but a guided tour so they talk about where you are and what you see. I highly recommend!

Great trip

About 10-15mins walk from Dalmeny station. All the staff from the guy in the kiosk to the crew on board were friendly and helpful. The boat trip was really good and the captain slowed down and gave us a chance to photograph wildlife when he saw it. Puffins and seals were great and we also saw a pod of dolphins so really pleased. The bridges were a great view close up as well and we tied it in with inchcolm island as well. Not overbooked as well which gave you the opportunity to see both sides. Would recommend and have done

Excellent boat trip experience

We thoroughly enjoyed the boat cruise, would definitely recommend booking it. The crew were very friendly and constantly pointing out wildlife and passing on the history and facts about places, the bridges, etc. It was a great experience to see the 3 bridges from a totally different view point

Worth the trip!

What a great day! Very easy train ride from Edinburgh, beautiful walk through the woods on a path, nice tour on the boat and a beautiful little town! We really enjoyed this cruise. The Scottish lad wearing the ELVIS belt buckle was a treat. He was funny, knowledgeable and personable to everyone. We saw sea lions, gulls, but I don’t know for sure that we saw any puffins. The speaker was harder to hear in the back of the boat due to the engines, but you’re free to move about to find the best spot for you.

definitely a must. interesting and scenic. and the narration was informative. it was great being out on the water in a boat. the staff were helpful and explained things.

A great afternoon

The crew very good and the story/history was great and birds and seals sun bathing on the rocks and weather .First time at South Queensferry would go again with friends

Brilliant time had by all

Fantastic trip from start to finish. Fresh air, fresh rain at times, not too cold. Comfortable boat and just brilliant brilliant people looking after us. The tour was just the right length. Fantastic sights, we saw seals and even two puffins.

First Time Solo

A wonderful time with Forth Boat Tours on Friday. Got the Train from Edinburgh Waverley to Dalmeny. From there it was a short walk down to Hawes Pier. The Staff at the Kiosk were excellent. From there it was a short walk around to the Pier to meet the boat. Which was Queensferry Belle. The Crew onboard were excellent. Giving everyone a wonderful experience. And lots of interesting information. Landed on Inchcolm Island. Which was an amazing experience. Will do this again.

Interesting tour with great views of the bridges. Spacious boat and friendly staff. The dock was really easy to find from the train station. I would recommend!

Amazing 3 bridge boat trip.

Brilliant trip - stunning views up close of all 3 amazing bridges. Staff v helpful. Recorded commentary good to a point but rambled on a bit with lots of non bridge tenuously linked facts/history. I zoned it out & concentrated on the unforgettable views. Highly recommded with earplugs!

Best experience for a short Cruise

Listen to informative commentary as well on the history of the area and look out for marine wildlife including both seals and puffins.

A place to always want to go back to so, we will in 2024

Attractive place and good stop off for morning eat or Coffee. Make sure you keep to the paths when walking through the village

Cruise But Enjoy the Small Communities in the Area as Well

We had a good time. The weather was good so the water was not too churned up. It is about a 90 minute cruise in an inlet that leads to the ocean. We also enjoyed the area/small community in and around where the boat launch took place. So go and take some time to explore the area. It is quite enjoyable.

Enjoyable cruise

It was a very pleasant 90 minute cruise that was very informative about the bridges and surrounding history. Also enjoyed lunch and a walk around town after the boat ride.

Boat need to slow down a little bit to have time taking pictures.

Views were great. History of the city and bridges were interesting. Staffs were nice. Cons: Boat cafe lack some drinks and snacks. The boat goes fast which didn't give enough time to take photo of key location and especially the seal (there was only one shown itself).

Exuberating, adventurous and felt so thrilled to be in some island with just a under six people.

Thoroughly enjoyed our sail today on Forth Belle round Inchcolm Island then back under the Three Bridges. The crew were friendly and exceptionally helpful. The staff on the island were really curteous and friendly. The trip was really worthwhile, I even managed to see a couple of seals.

Fabulous and informative boat trip

extremely informative and the "deckhand" was brilliant! Lots of irrelevant tit bits but this is what I love.

The agent does not care about the customers.

Location was changed an hour before departure without any replacement transport to the new location. The lady I spoke to suggested the new location was only a 15 minutes walk without even asking what my circumstances were. She further suggested I could wait for the next tour if I could not arrive on time meaning I would wait another hour and a half. When I asked her about getting a refund because I wouldn’t arrive on time, she told me to contact the agent I booked through. Did the agent change the departure location or it was the actual company? I would not recommend this tour. Location can change anytime and there won’t be any replacement transport.

Nice tour of the Forth bridges

They provided a nice tour of the bridges and a sighting of some seals. We couldn’t always hear the commentary because of all the chatting going on in the boat. The town of Queensferry is charming and worth a look.

Excellent sail today !

Thoroughly enjoyed our sail today on Forth Belle round Inchcolm Island then back under the Three Bridges. The crew were so helpful in accommodating my Dad and his wheelchair and made it so easy for us to board and disembark. The commentary was superb, very clear and easily heard ! Highly recommend a sail with Forth Boat Tours

Be on time!

Loved the entire trip BUT wished we had left on time as stated in the information! We ended up waiting for people past the 1:00 departure until approx. 1:20!!

Beautiful Excursion

Beautiful experience, fun crew and comfortable boat. Spend time in South Queensferry at Orocco’s on the water which is a short 15 min walk to boarding. Pictures were Magical from boat tour, wonderful excursion. It does take 30 min in taxi to get to there from Edinburgh.

Very fun! Loved seeing the sights and opportunity of hiking the island! Queensferry is a very scenic village with friendly residents!

Lovely day out

Enjoyable cruise underneath all the bridges and we were lucky enough to see some seals along the way. Nice clean boat with toilet facilities and bar. Enjoyable commentary.

Fantastic experience, great family day out

Being from Edinburgh, it was an amazing experience for myself and both my kids who are 16 and 10. Learning the history of all 3 bridges was great and getting to see the abbey on inchcolm was amazing. Chuck in seeing a load of seals, you can’t ask for a better day out. Loved it.
