Fantastic food and city tour!

Booked the street food tastings with Chingmeng and it was excellent! Chingmeng has a wealth of knowledge about Singapore beyond just the food. But he also took us to some super yummy food vendors! The chicken masala and naan bread in little india was amazing! Would absolutely recommend Chingmeng for your tour of Singapore!

Great experience to learn more about singapore and it's amazing history. So insightful and great at explaining each dish we tried. His tour covered so much more than food and each dish had a wonderful backstop only a great storyteller could give highly recommended.

Bad experience with the guide Grayson We booked the 10 tasting tour with Grayson He gave us such a bad food experience not only did he make us pay for the MRT which was supposed to be provided in this tour

Great tour, lots of tasty food

We just finished our Singapore food tour with Marcus, and it was great. Marcus provided a lot of history, provided a huge amount of interesting and delicious food, and was very accommodating to my vegetarian diet. We would highly recommend this tour and Marcus.

Informative & efficient way to experience the food & areas of Singapore

Great all round & efficient experience of the food of Singapore with history thrown in. William was very knowledgeable & took great care to ensure we were ok in the heat & access to amenities on the tour. I’d say it is probably a bit long for kids / teens. Maybe 2 hours would be best. And 2 hrs if your time is further into the heat of the day. We went at 10am. Travel between locations on the MRT at own expense. You don’t need a travel pass. Tap & go on a credit or debit is fine. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Delicious Tour with a perfect Tour Guide

On 07.05.24 we had the private food tour with Marcus. He is a nice guy with a very good knowledge about the history of Singapore and the different cultures in the town. We started at Arab Street, went to little India and finished the tour in Chinatown. We did not only taste great food from different kitchens, we also learned a lot about the cultures and people. It was a great experience und we can recommend the food tour! We enjoyed it very much. Thank you, Marcus!🤗👍

Hawker food experience.

Marcus was very attentive and informative. He did an excellent job explaining what we saw and the cultures we encountered. We found the food interesting and good but not to our liking. We enjoyed taking the metro and seeing some of the city. We thought the tour ended abruptly and a better understanding of what we were eating would have been helpful. We recommend both the tour and Marcus as a very insightful visit to Singapore.

Great food tour!

It was easy to meet up with Marcus to start the tour. We covered a lot of ground, ate some fabulous food and learned quite a bit about the history of Singapore. Marcus was a great guide. He's very knowledgeable and communicates well. This was our 2nd walking food tour and we love them so much that we've signed up for one in Paris in September!

Lots of learning and good food

Our first tasting was amazing! I enjoyed the historical commentaries as we visited each ethnic community. It was also a treat to learn how to travel using the Singapore subway.

Our guide Author was AMAZING! He knows all the authentic ( not touristy) food places to go to and we learned so much about the history of Singapore- it was the perfect way to start our trip in Singapore! He is a delight and the private tour was FANTASTIC! Highly recommend- it’s worth every penny and more! You will experience Singapore shopping , sites as well as food. Clearly he is known by many in Singapore and he knows Singapore inside and out. A MUST DO tour.

Great experience. Chingmeng was informative, knowledgeable and accommodating throughout. The 3 cuisines and tastings were as advertised. We learnt so much about Singapore and local food. Highly recommended.

Great food and great city overview!

HJ helped us make the most of our short time in Singapore. We enjoyed all of the dishes that he selected in the 3 districts we visited. We also learned a lot about the history and cultures of the city and we learned about the subway system as well! This will help us make the most of our trip to Singapore next year.

Call the tour company is advance to make sure it’s confirmed.

Beware booking this tour through Viator. We confirmed the tour months in advance, and we showed up only to have the tour guide not show up, claiming they were not aware of it. We spent an extra hour getting to the meeting point and waiting for them, thinking they may just be late. We received no warning that the tour was canceled, and after calling viator, they could only refund us the cost of the tour itself, but not the round trip taxi cost and for our wasted time. I am a loyal Viator customer and they have really put a sour taste in my mouth because of their reluctance to offer any additional credit. I asked if they could offer a modest Viator credit to use on future tours for the mishap and they refused. The agent only said they could give me 5% if I book 2 more tours with them, and I thought that was ridiculous, especially since you can get 5% or more off when you book using Rakuten or a shopping portal. I’m still waiting for a reply from their corporate/escalation department. I’m surprised they still sent me the message to review the tour after canceling and refunding me the tour cost, so I am taking this opportunity to notify others of my experience. I cannot review the tour itself, but Viator and/or the tour company needs to take responsibility for this. We even called the tour company and the man who does the tour just said to call Viator and then hung up on me before I could ask for their recommendation of places/restaurants to visit since we had already arrived at the meeting point. I will now 100% always call the tour company ahead of time to verify they are aware of the booking even though Viator claims it’s confirmed. Please do better Viator, especially with customers who have booked dozens of tours with you before.

Good extravaganza

Our Guide was friendly and informative. Initially I was a bit intimidated by Singapore’s vastness but after walking around the different areas and the ease in using the metro I felt more comfortable.

Horrible guide grayson

Grayson is not a nice or good guide at all Providing cheap food with high costs of prices We did compare with other food tour guide out of my surprise we found out that we have been pricely charged yet getting the worst food from him yet make me and my wife to pay for the subway too?!! don't believe him for those" tourists out there, please look into the pictures and compare you're paying more, getting less from him

Grayson was a wonderful tour guide with extensive knowledge and understanding of the many cultures that make Singapore so special. The food was incredible and consisted of restaurants and food stalls that we might not have found without a local. We highly recommend him as your guide!

Build the food tour around the client

Obtain more information about your clients regarding their ability to walk at least 3k in very hot and humid weather. The food portions were too big for two people so have a minimum tour size of 4 people. Understand if they have food allergies or are lactose intolerant. Find out where the clients are staying and plan last stop to be closet to the hotel.

Great for real foodies!

Marcus Yeo, our guide and Singapore native was most friendly and knowledgeable. He skillfully brought valuable detailed historical context to our multicultural food tour which made it all the more enjoyable. My wife and I came out extremely satisfied with an outstanding food selection and richer in our knowledge of local history. I would strongly recommend doing the food tour with Marcus. He will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful time on our tour, and would recommend it! We tried a variety of foods and were able to walk and see several neighborhoods in Singapore, which we appreciated as we were only there for a short time.

Amazing food tour with our guide Grayson! He was extremely knowledgable about Singapore and the different cultures. We tried 3 dishes at each cultural area and each were delicious and different! Wouldn’t have thought to order any of those dishes if we were alone touring through the markets. So glad we had Grayson there to show us around and introduce us to so many things in Singapore!

Our tour guide HJ took photos of the food etc and said he would send them to us but we haven’t had anything yet ? Not the best food tour we’ve booked through Viator and a bit dearer than normal which adds to the review rating

Do a food tour on day 1

We chose this tour because it offered more than just food and our guide provided us with a lot of very interesting cultural and general information. He was very knowledgeable on everything from transport, housing and religions. ! Do not eat beforehand as the servings are very generous. We tried drinks as well as food. we had been to Singapore a few times but this tour still broadened our experience.

Excellent food and culture!

Our guide, Marcus, was a wealth of information about Singaporean history and culture, all nicely tied to the cuisine. We sampled Middle Eastern, Indian, and Chinese dishes at small "hole in the wall" restaurants and in Singapore's famed hawker markets. Bring an appetite because the food was plentiful and delicious. My wife and I took the private tour with Marcus. As seniors, we move a little slowly and Marcus was very accommodating and concerned for our comfort. An outstanding experience that we highly recommend.

Three Yummy Food Tastings :-)

We had travelled previously to Singapore and always enjoyed the street food. This time was an especially good experience with our guide. In addition to the food he also chatted with us about the different cultures of Singapore and their roles in society. In addition to the great good experience we also got an excellent lesson in negotiating the Singapore metro system.

Fun and informative

Tour was fun and informative. Didn’t do a whole lot of research prior to tour. Guide was great, just hard to understand at times. We were 3 guys who were there for the food so while the information about the various cities was good, we just wanted to eat and shop. Speaking of shopping, we were taken through lots of small neat shops, but didn’t get a chance to stop in them. No mention of taking a train to various towns that you’ll end up paying for (around $2). Ultimately it was good, just not worth the amount charged at the end of the day.

The Gist of Singapore

The food tour was wonderful and Marcus is full of knowledge. He had answers to many of the questions that we had about Singapore. Marcus gave us a tour of hawker centers that had food that is historical to that area. Overall the tour provided the much needed knowledge for a first timer for Singapore. The food was delicious and the company kind and generous.

He was a font of knowledge into the daily lives and excellent coverage of the various food and local drinks. The Guide Arthur was...

The Guide Arthur was exceptional. He selected a great variety of food and drink; but most importantly he gave us perfect analysis of history of Singapore and its populations. He was like an expert Sociology and history Professor. He also took his time and did everything to make my wife and me feel comfortable.
