Minneriya national park

Great driver who really went the extra mile to find all sorts of animals. Took us through roads no other jeep companies were going so we got away from the crowds.

Saw lots of Elephants! Great guide!!

We saw loads of elephants (200+) including babies. We also saw lots of other wildlife and our guide was very friendly and nice. They were quick to organise the tour and very helpful and willing to answer any questions.

great safari

we spent our afternoon with a tour with Mayure, that really made sure for us to have the best experience. It was our first safari and really it overcame the expectations, we were able to see, among other and interesting animales such as monkeys, birds and eagles, some elephants from very close spots. Mayure made sure to not make lots of noise in order to preserve the quietness of these animals and to provide us the best sight. very glad and happy.

Great accommodating experience

A great experience with this team. They were so accommodating and friendly. They communicated well via WhatsApp, came to pick us up at our hostel, and took us through the park, stopping for us at an ATM (you need 10k LKR per person for park entrance) and to get water. We saw many animals and they were able to adapt the trip to our needs. Thanks a million.

Tour

We have had the most amazing afternoon. From the organisation, communication and the wonderful driver who not only had many years of experience and knowledge but made sure we got the most of every moment as soon as we got into the keep until the drop off to our accommodation. A huge thank you to you all for all your efforts! We would highly recommend this to everyone!

Wonderful experience

Wonderful experience! Mayura, our driver was great. He showed us lots of animals: not only elephants (we saw a lot of them!) but also monkeys, water buffalos, various birds…it’s been incredible. Also I have to say that the communication before the safari was always easy. Absolutely recommended!

Observing elephants in their natural habitat

We had a great experience. We got picked up and dropped of hours later. The guide was patient and waited with us until a big group of elephants came out. He answered our questions and explained the behaviour of the animals as well. We would highly recommend it!

Terrific safari

Had a great time on our safari today! Saw stacks of elephants as well as plenty of other animals like water buffalo, jackals, different types of monkeys, and heaps of eagles of various kinds. Our driver, Mayra, was excellent company, with his knowledge, experience, and energy. Loved it!

Best safari in sigiriya!

We had such an amazing time on our safari around Minneriya national park. Even before we were picked up the communication was great and unfortunately we had to postpone at the very last minute as our daughter was sick. This was no problem and the owner even offered to help arrange medical care. The jeeps are very clean and comfortable, very much better than some of the other jeeps we saw on the way! Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and was able to tell us all about not just the elephants but all of the other animals and birds in the park. His knowledge of the park was so good and he knew the short cuts and secluded areas to see the best sights which made the trip extra special. Highly recommend this tour company for your safari in sigiriya!

Elephant safari

What a lovely tour! Our guide was so nice and excited to show us all the elephants. We saw two tusk elephants, a tiny baby and many more elephants. The jeep was clean and comfortable.

Great experience.

We had such an amazing time! We saw a lot of elephants at the water hole bathing and drinking. We were so close to them. It was a great experience, I highly recommend booking with them. Our tour guide was very nice and helpful, he showed and explained different animals. He gave us enough time to take good photos.

Could not recommend enough

Could not recommend more. Instant confirmation and pick up was easy and on time. Our driver was so lovely he put in the extra effort to ensure we would see everything and to which we did. I would defs recommend doing this in dry season were we saw 100+ elephants, birds, monkeys, and peacocks. We were lucky enough to see a small little elephant said to be 4-5 days old and a big male elephant with large tusks (of which our driver spent extra time trying to find for us). This experience was just for a friend and I and we loved every bit. The entrance into the park is a little expensive which is an extra cost but worth every Sri Lankan Rupee. Love love love. DO IT!!!

A fantastic safari experience

We had a fantastic afternoon at Minneriya, we saw several groups of elephants as well as langur, deer, mongoose, squirrels, peacocks and many other birds, our guide was well informed and keen to give us the best experience, would thoroughly recomend this tour

Great time, highly recomanded

We had a super moment with our driver !!! Great comunication with Sanjeewa via WhatsApp to prepare the trip. 110$ for 3h private trip into the parc. We saw éléphants, Eagles, mangust, monkeys, dears, Buffalos and a lot of differents birds. We highly recommand to book your safari with Sanjeewa services, ou will not regret it !

An Unforgettable Safari Experience

Very good experience with this Safari. We could saw a lot of elephants and diverse birdlife, including the regal peacock. Every moment was captivating. The guide was really nice and he showed good expertise and hospitality. The jeep was incredible!! Highly recommended for those seeking adventure and serenity amidst the wilderness. Good value for money!

BUYER BEWARE! Please read the other one a two star ratings for this company before you decide to book! I would also advise that you keep all communications with this company on Tripadvisor messaging so that you have proof of your conversations and price confirmation so that Tripadvisor admins can see the conversation dialogue. I had booked a private jeep half day tour to Minneyira national park, which O received confirmation for. The owner of this company confirmed all costs to me to include parking/ entrance fees. However, on the day of my trip ( when I would be charged 100% if I were to cancel) he informed me that I would need to pay an additional $30 if I wanted Minneyira or I could visit a very small, unknown park if I didn’t wish to pay this new additional amount ( other reviewers seem to have had similar experiences) He also harassed me in the lead up to my safari with many unsolicited links to my personal WhatsApp for various trips and accommodations. He also informed me that my jeep would now have two other guests so would no longer be the private trip that I had booked or to the park I had booked. This man is untrustworthy and had plagued me with requests to extort more money from me on the morning of my trip as he knew I couldn’t cancel without losing all my money. I therefore decided to cancel my safari as he had stressed me so much during the morning with constant messaging changing pick up times and locations and requesting additional fees that I would not have felt comfortable sitting in a jeep with him for three hours in the afternoon. I therefore lost all my money that I had paid a missed out on what should have been an amazing experience.

Definitely recommend!

I truly recommend this company if you want to see elephants up close in their natural habitat. Our driver/guide who was very friendly knew exactly where to find the elephants and thanks to the fact that we started our safari earlier (as recommend by the tour organiser) we were able to spend some alone time with these majest animals without other Jeeps around. We felt safe at all times and we felt that the driver knew how to behave around the animals. What is also very important, he was respecting animals and would keep healthy distance between the Jeep and the elephants- it was their choice to get up close to us. The price was reasonable comparing to other offers available on the Internet.

Amazing morning!

Amazing morning safari experience, saw around 20 elephants super close. Driver was really great and really knew the best places to see the Elephants.

It was low elephant season but our driver tried his best and we still saw dozen of elephants. It was a pleasant experience.

Elephants sightings!!

I saw the tour while googling for the safari. Rates is almostvthe same or at oar with others and some euros cheaper than in our hotel. The guy is really responsive with all the questions. We went to Kaudulla park instead of Minneriya since that's where the bigger sightings of the elephants. Our driver was also nice doesnt speak much english but he tries to give information about the animals, he was a good spotter for animals and birds and waits for us to finish taking photos. 😀

Elephants!

The company was very pleasant to deal with - they were very responsive and helpful. The day of the tour they recommended we switch parks based on the number of elephants expected and it was very good. Our driver didn’t speak with us much but was good about finding great view points and giving us ample time to take photos etc.

Memorable Jeep ride

We hired 6 Safari jeeps to Kaudulla Sanctuary yesterday it was well arranged and was memorable. The jeeps provided was absolutely comfortable, clean . The guide/ Chauffeur was knowledgeable and well attended to our needs . He showed us around more than 75 Elephants and explained the entire tour with passion. I recommend this company for your future Safari hires and was reasonably priced as well .

excellent jeep safari and saw lots of elephants

We booked this Minneriya jeep safari. Everything was very easy - pick up from hotel and had a fantastic afternoon trip to the park. We saw a herd of 25 elephants, as well as a lone bull, and a mother and baby. Jeep safari is excellent value for money but you have to pay park fees separately and they are a bit more, but really well worth it.

Great experience at Minneriya

We booked the afternoon safari to Minneriya and it was amazing. The driver/guide had a very experienced eye and was able to see the animals no matter how well hidden they were. He was very respectful to them too, carefully aproaching them without making them flee and not only did he show them to us but also gave us info. They were really punctual and the price was really fair too!! We woud really recommend them!

A fantastic Safari experience with Habarana Jeep Safari

This was our 4th elephant Safari tour with Habarana Jeep Safari. Thanks to Mr. Sanjeewa for all the arrangements and professional service provided. They picked us from our hotel on time. Very well experienced Safari guides. Great knowledge of the area and the animals. They took us to see many elephants including a baby elephant. They are great expertise and knew where to go and when to have the best chance to see the elephants. There are many safari tour operators, but I would highly recommend this tour, if you want to get the best out of your visit.

We had a great time in the national park that we will never forget! Seeing elephants and many rare bird species is really worth the money! Our driver also drove safely and kept his distance from the elephants. The ranger on board was able to explain all the animal species to us as well as many plant species! We would definitely recommend the safari!

Excellent tour

We went to Kaudulla Park and saw more than 100 elephants during the August gathering for a fair price. We also saw monkeys and birds. Our guide was very friendly and helpful.

An experience not to be missed

A group of 23 people aged later in life, BRILLIANT, I will write it again BRILLIANT, we had an eagle eyed driver that spotted the smallest lizard, bird, squirrel as well as buffalo, elephant, kites and eagles. The jeeps are interesting and bouncy and the drivers are good. The elephants are placid and welcoming of cars being near.

Amazing trip to the national park. We saw 6 different groups of elephants, water buffalo , deer, monkeys and lots of birds. Our driver and guide were very respectful of animals and did not get too close.

Awesome!

We were a group of 10 people, we booked two jeeps. Since it rained during the evening and we had a tight schedule during the morning, they've picked us up at the hotel with the jeeps and after the tour they've left us at Lyons Rock as requested (to optimise our timing). The tour was very nice and fun, we've seen many elephants (families and baby elephants) and the staff makes an effort to find where they are so we can see them. The jeeps are good and comfortable even for jumpy areas. I highly recommend this company.

Elephant Jeep Safari

Fantastic service - I only booked at 1pm and jeep was at hotel by 2.30pm to pick us up for Eco Park afternoon safari. Great price, 1/3 cost of hotel’s offering, and with an experienced driver (Asela) with good English. Saw 40+ elephants and learnt a lot about the elephants and the park. Highly recommend Habarana Jeep Safari and especially Asela.

Not the tour we expected but still a great afternoon.

Despite a lot of confusion before the tour even started, we ended up with a safari better than expected! We didn’t get the advertised tour… no village visit and we went to Hurulu Eco park instead of either of the 2 parks listed (apparently that’s where the elephants where) and entry cost to this park was NOT included in the booking price, which almost led to us cancelling. However we were picked up with a smile in a slightly older jeep, but as it turns out being less flash than the rest of the jeeps in the park meant our driver wasn’t afraid to take it off road to find the best spots.. I’m not sure if it was knowledge or luck but we found a number of groups of elephants, including several baby calves and were able to get pretty close, without disrupting the elephants themselves- our driver was conscious to cut the engine as soon as we got close, especially around the babies!

Amazing Jeep Safari with a lot of elephants

It was a great Safari experience. We went to Hurulu Eco Park and we saw a lot of elephants. I can highly recommend this safari.

The Best Elephant Watching Experience!!

This was the best elephant watching experience we had. We were taken to the Echo Park as this was said to be the place where elephants frequent the most these days. Srimal, the owner arranged the best time for us to visit and our driver,Siraj was an excellent tour guide. He looked out for us and made sure we were safe and that we enjoyed our trip. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. Guys, we highly recommend them!!!

Incredible safari experience at Hurulu Eco Park, Habarana

Everything about this trip was amazing, Careful, and safe and a friendly driver who was great at spotting animals as well as explaining what we are seeing. You should do this safari during your Visit at Habarana. I would highly recommend booking a safari through this agent. I inquired about the safari through TripAdvisor and their customer service is excellent, they sent a few Videos, pricing and the guidelines. The safari driver was extremely flexible, punctual and accommodating.

We had a great afternoons safari in Eco Park. Our driver was very professional and knew where to locate the herd. A great trip, we got picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Excellent customer service and value for money. I would highly recommend.

Eco Park Safari

We visited the Eco Park and we had a great time. The jeep waited for us at Habarana train station took us to the safari and then dropped us at our accommodation in Sigiriya. I would recommend his services!!

Amazing experience

We had a really nice trip. The driver was good and he looked for the more quiet areas of the park to avoid the 'jeep traffic'. He also checked with us every time if we were fine to move to another point. Good value for money.

Good service

They made sure you see the elephants and the driver is very good. They are really nice but one thing was the owner keep texting to offering transport service, tour service, etc etc and it's kinda annoying. But after all the service is great!!
