Great tour

We had a great tour with Anne. Her knowledge of all of the sites we visited was excellent and also her communication before the tour.

A guide = no hassles and a great day out!

Having a guide was absolutely worth booking. Youshi met us at the port and from then on, for 6 hrs, took responsibility for navigating train rides, buses, tickets and routes. We could relax and enjoy the sights! He was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and listened to what experiences we were interested in, and then planned the excursion. Much less than the cruise in total. Great day in Mt Fuji area!

If you only have one day, this is a great way to see the area.

Great day with very professional and friendly guide and polite and helpful driver. Cloudy day so no views of Mt. Fuji but visited a nice lake and pretty waterfalls. Museum was nicely presented as well as the shrine we visited. Ended with a delicious lunch at a local Japanese restaurant!

A Great Guide, Cool Sights and Delectable Food!

We had splendid time in Shizuoka Prefecture with Hisato as our tour guide/photographer and Mr. Uchida (unsure of spelling) as the taxi driver! Prior to the tour, Hisato communicated through email and WhatsApp. She created a detailed itinerary for the day based on the places that we'd requested to visit, including options for lunch locations. Hisato met us at the cruise terminal at 8:00am with an illustrated welcome sign with my name on it. She brought her camera and offered to take photos throughout the tour. Between and during the various stops, Hisato provided details about the history of the area and country (the visuals provided via her iPad were a nice enhancement). 1st Stop: Shiraito Falls - While riding to the destination, we were able to see Mt. Fuji. - We were dropped off by the local bus stop close to the upper overlook (not the parking lot for the buses and cars), then walked down the stairs to the bottom to experience beautiful views of the falls (the walk down is not bad, but some light stretching may be beneficial on the way back up!). - There were only a handful of visitors (at one point, we had the place to ourselves!). Arrived at the falls around 9:15am, left around 9:40am. 2nd Stop: FamilyMart - Restroom break, arrived around 9:45am, left around 9:50am. 3rd Stop: Shizuoka Sengen Shrine - Enjoyed the zen vibe and learning about the shrine. - Arrived around 10:10am, left around 10:45am. 4th Stop: Souvenir Shop - Someone from the group wanted to purchase a tea set, and Hisato arranged a stop at a quaint store that was close to the restaurant. - Arrived around 11:15am, left around 11:45am. 5th Stop: Kichi to Naru Kitchen - Since the tour was only six hours, I'd initially opted out of a lunch stop. However, with the restaurant options provided, we chose to dine at Kichi to Naru Kitchen. - The weather forecasted that Mt. Fuji may be more visible in the afternoon, so Hisato rearranged the tour schedule to have lunch before visiting Obuchi Sasaba and even placed the lunch order prior to our arrival. - The food was...delicious! I ordered the grilled curry with vegetables, angel shrimp and mussels. I only wish that I would have asked for the vinaigrette dressing recipe that was used on the limitless salad. - Arrived around 11:50am, left around 12:40pm. 6th Stop: Obuchi Sasaba - Saw the green tea fields, sampled green tea and had a good view of Mt. Fuji. - Arrived around 1:10pm, left around 1:35pm. 7th Stop: On the way back to the cruise ship, Mr. Uchida made an impromptu stop so that we could have a final view of Mt. Fuji. - Arrived around 1:55pm, left around 2:05pm. We were dropped off at S-Pulse Dream Plaza. When the tour was officially over, Hisato assisted us with some souvenir shopping by interpreting labels and locating stores of interest. After the tour, she sent photos that she'd taken and souvenir shopping options at the airport. If you are looking for a tour guide in the Shizuoka/Shimizu Mt. Fuji area who is knowledgable, organized, professional and courteous, then request Hisato (hopefully, she can also bring along Mr. Uchida!)!

Excellent tour guide

Our tour guide, Tomo was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. He gave us tour options and let us decide where we wanted to visit. We did a combination of walking, taxis and trains.

Fantastic day

Our tour Terry took us on amazing journey into the country side to get fantastic views of Mt Fuji & he delivered. We also visited a temple, stopped for sake tasting. He took us to Tanuki Lake which have us the best view especially seeing it reflecting in the water. Terry also too us to a local restaurant for lunch - it was delicious. Highly recommend Terry as a guide

Excellent tour of Shimizu

Terry was a wonderful tour guide. He’s super organized and helped us maximize our time in port at Shimizu. I rated this tour 4-stars because, in hindsight, I would have selected an itinerary with Terry that provided closer & better visibility of Mt Fuji. But, of course , this is only practical on a day with good visibility.

Excellent guide and a perfect tour.

We arrived at Shimizu at one of the worst typhoon like weather in the morning. Heavy rain and strong winds making us impossible even to keep our umbrellas open. Yet, Yatsuko San made the tour the most interesting, informative, pleasant and memorable event ever. She did with her inherent kindness, resourcefulness and consideration for others. We were able to visit, see and experience all the places and things that we would like to despite the unfavorable weather conditions. Ultimately the weather cleared up and we could enjoy the picturesque view of Fujisan. Yatsuko San made it all possible by being treating us above and beyond her duty. She did that not only during the tour but even before the tour started with constant communication and corresponding with us on any issue in questions. Thank you Yatsuko (Jasmine) and Viator!!

Best tour ever!!!!!

Our guide Hisato was the best guide we’ve ever had. First of all, her English is perfect! Secondly, her communication to help us find the exact right trip for our family, was appreciated so much! She took into consideration Nana’s ability to get around, but also taking us to sights that I’m sure no one else on our cruise ship saw!!! She was prompt, ready as we got off the ship, had a taxi & driver ready as requested. And her knowledge of Japanese history & culture, along with pictures was outstanding! She even took pictures of us & sent them to me! She let me stop several times to take pictures of the Sakura. She found a bonsai exhibit for us to visit, but the highlight was the wasabi & green tea plantation. You can not go wrong with Hisato as your guide! I can guarantee it will be your best tour ever!

Excellent visit of Yume Terrace, pine grove and Kunozan Tosho-gu

In Shimitzu, we were met at the cruise terminal by Iyuko. She had organized for us a personalized tour of the area. She had sent us earlier a few itinerary options to choose from. They were all great! She booked the taxis, took us to some beautiful areas we would not have explored by ourselves and taught us a lot! And yes we saw Mount Fuji! Iyuko’s fluency in English is very good!

An amazing day in Shimizu!

I had an amazing day with Ikuyo Watase exploring Shimizu. We went to the Yume Terrace to view Mt. Fuji, took the ropeway to visit Tosho-gu Shrine, explored some ancient ruins in the town of Shimizu, and visited the Japanese gardens at Sunpu Castle, where we enjoyed tea and Japanese sweets in the teahouse. I've done a lot of tours, and Ikuyo was one of the best guides! Also, she will design the itinerary according to what you want to see, but I just let her decide on the day and it was wonderful.

Do not book with them! They didn’t show up

They didn’t show up, no phone call, no email nothing. Do NOT Book with them!! No phone call, no email, nothing. This is awful business practices because at that point you are then left to try to pívot on your own and arrange something g when you only have one day there and also end up subject to outrageous costs due to the last minute plans

Unforgettable Day in Shimizu with Chikako's Expert Guidance!

We had a delightful experience with Chikako Tikei guiding us in Shimizu. After disembarking from the Spectrum of the Seas, we received a warm welcome at the port. Chikako expertly led us through our visits to Miho no Matsubara and the Nihondaira Ropeway. We capped off our day with a delicious lunch before a leisurely stroll back to the port. Chikako's knowledge and patience in addressing our numerous queries made the day all the more special!

Memorable Experience in Shizuoka

Yoko was absolutely the best guide that we’ve had the pleasure to accompany us on a tour. She structured our tour toward the things that we wanted to experience and was very attentive to ensuring we were having a memorable experience. Yoko recommended a strawberry picking and eating experience at Hagiwara Farm. We had a great time picking and eating the sweetest strawberries ever in our lifetime. This was a fun experience for travelers of all ages. Yoko also accompanied us to Miho Beach and Nihondaira where we experienced breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and closeup views of green tea fields. We ended our tour at Shimizu Fish Market where we ate a fresh and delicious meal of assorted sashimi and Sakura shrimp. What a memorable experience Yoko created for us! Thank you, Yoko!
