Incredible Coasteering Experience

The Coasteering adventure was incredible. We absolutely got the full experience: swimming, climbing, jumping of rocks. It was tiring but 100% worth it. Probably one of the most memorable things we did in Portugal. Our guide Solage was the best!

Absolutely fantastic! The most amazing few hours. The scenery is spectacular and the experience incredible. We climbed and jumped five times, each one with its own challenge. Diogo was the perfect guide, charming, knowledgeable and thoughtful in creating the jumps at just the right level for us. An experience not to be missed. We can’t wait until next year! Very unique

We had a fantastic time. This isn't for the faint of heart so I wouldn't go unless you enjoy a bit of adrenaline and are reasonably in shape.

The perfect mother/son bonding experience in Portugal!

My son ( 15) and I (46) absolutely loved this experience. We booked it last minute and had an amazing time. The guide was wonderful! This is an absolute must do if you love adventures.

Fantastic

Absolutely fantastic experience I would recommend to anyone especially a group to do. The instructors are so much fun and knowledgeable and will make the adventure easy. The jumps are very easy and the scenery is absolutely stunning only downside was I forgot my GoPro to capture this amazing day

Amazing, must do

Coming from Australia, i did not know what “coasteering” was until this experience. An amazing experience with perfect guides Henrique and Ines 🙏🏻 made the experience fun, enjoyable and safe.

Great activity

Epic jumps, frankly terrifying at some points but also exhilarating and exciting. Slightly different H&S standard to U.K. so good to be confident of your fitness. V generous leaders, good wetsuits and great snack and water before the zip wire !

Extremely fun experience

Insanely fun. I would come back to Portugal just to do this again. Our tour guide was amazing and even made us snacks earlier that day to have while coasteering.

So great I went twice in one month

If you like canyoning, or simply jumping off of rocks/cliffs into beautiful water, you'll love this activity. Arrabida is gorgeous, and the activity is so much fun. Loved it so much I went twice in June/July. Ines, Eddie and Henrique are terrific guides--especially Ines. Highly recommend this activity.

Amazing experience !

We actually didn't really know what we were getting into when we signed up ! Wow - what an amazing experience. My son (18) and I (55) enjoyed this adrenaline inducing activity so much . Wow , so fun and what a great way to see and experience the coastline ! The guides were great , we felt safe the whole time and It was a blast !

Great adventure

Loved this whole experience! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an adventure or something different in the area. The only challenging piece was figuring out the pick up and the time was a little different when it finished than in the description.

Amazing time coasteering at Sesimbra

Had a really amazing time coasteering with friends. The instructors/guides were super nice and knew what they were doing. Guiding and encouraging when necessary. We were all ready to go again when we were done! Definitely recommend!

Do it!

We had so much fun and loved our guide. As other reviews say, it definitely requires some physical work. Bring a change of dry clothes, shoes, and a towel.. you’ll thank yourself later! Definitely a once in a lifetime type of experience. One thing to improve, we REALLY really wish we could’ve had even one photo of ourselves during the excursion. Many people in our group agreed. I’m sure there is a way to make it work for future groups!

Day on the coast

The sea was little rough making it tougher than usual. The guides took their time to make sure that we were safe and had a good time.

Amazing! Highly recommend

Amazing! We were a group of 10 mid 30 year olds and we did the coasteering trip. It was an absolute blast - jumps, climbs, zip line, swimming, abseiling, all in a fantastic spot. There was plenty to do for all abilities within our group, different heights for the jumps and options if you'd rather jump than climb or vice versa. Our guides were really good fun, but also safety conscience so we had complete confidence in what we were doing. Can't recommend enough, amazing experience!

Fun coasteering adventure

Would recommend this experience, we had a great tour! The instructor Francisco was very helpful and gave clear instructions that made us feel safe navigating through waves, climbing the rock faces, and also while jumping off the cliff edges. Additionally, I enjoyed learning more from him about the natural area around us like how the caves were formed & how the limestone makes the water appear bluer. This was a super fun getaway from Lisbon and a great change of pace. Even in the winter time, the water was a pleasant temperature, especially with the wetsuit on. This was the perfect amount of activities mixed with nice views, and the guides also gave us a delicious local cake at the end. I do wish that it was possible to see the address of the location prior to completing the booking, since right now it’s only possible to see the address once you’ve confirmed. But overall, I would recommend this for anyone looking for an adventurous day.

Amazing, do it

An amazing experience, if the Portuguese coffee doesn't wake up up the first jump into the water certainly will! I'm a little afraid of heights but the guides make you feel super safe and willing to take the plunge into the sea. Both the guides were very professional in helping you make your way up the rocks and making you feel safe. There was a small break where we had water and some traditional fisherman's cakes that were lovely. We paid to get picked up from Lisbon and the guide was very informative on the drive over telling us about some of the history of Portugal and some other interesting facts. Overall the experience was great, I've never done anything like it and if you feel scared you should conqueror your fears and give it ago!

Lovely adventure

I booked the experience as i knew we would enjoy a new adventure like this. My boyfriend had climbing experience, I did not, yet they made me feel very safe when climbing through rocks. Both guides were very experienced and extremely supportive, which was necessary as adrenaline only takes you so far. The experience was very intensive, we had a lovely break in the middle with some refreshments and some traditional cakes. I would absolutely recommend this experience to everyone!

Crazy fun

Interacting with the beautiful coastline by climbing the rocks, jumping into the water and zip lining was amazing. It was a unique and memorable expense. Our guides were fantastic. Everything was organized and we felt very safe.

Amazing if you love adrenaline.

This is simply something you must do if you love adrenaline and are in need of an adventure! Coasteering is very physical but definitely doable. I personally have asthma and I managed just fine. It is definitely most fun if you love adrenaline, climbing, jumping and swimming. We had an amazing morning/afternoon with amazing guides and we immediately also booked the dolphin-watching tour! The transfer from and to Lissabon was great as well. It is kind of difficult to reach Sesimbra if you don't have a car available so I definitely recommend booking the transfer as well!

You have to do this!

Do it!! I'm 42 and took my 14 year old son. I don't get scared easily but once you're up there you kinda second guess yourself until you try and then you're doing it!!! It's so much fun and unique. Our group ended up being pretty big and everyone cheered and helped each other along. I'm so happy I did this. The jumps varied from 1 meter to 8 meters and there were plenty! the Zipline was fun and the climbing def made me step out of my comfort zone. Now I feel like a badass. Our tour guides Nuno (I think this is wrong- sorry), Gonzalo and Jose make you feel like "you got this" the whole way through. Can't wait to try this again, it's my new fav travel activity.

Cliff jumping fun

Very organized on the day of. But it would have helpful if more thorough information was provided in advance (eg type of shoes needed, bring a towel). The guides were great. Very patient and had a good sense of humor. The scenery was beautiful. The course was great. It would have been great if the person on the boat had taken some photos of our jumps so that we had a memento.

One of the best wet outdoor experiences. Professional and friendly guides, cold water and beautiful scenery. We (2 adults and one teenager) swam, climbed and jumped and it was great fun. Very recommended.

Amazing coasteering experience!

Coasteering, in my opinion, is the most fun outdoor adventure activity there is, and we had a fantastic time going with Vertente Natural in Sesimbra. I am a middle-aged mother, not particularly athletic, so if I can do it, most anyone can! My 15 year old son also had an amazing time. Vertente Natural staff were very friendly, flexible, and professional. We always felt like we were in great hands, they were very safety conscious, and encouraged the group without ever pressuring anyone to do anything they didn't want to. I personally love the high cliff jumps, but find some of the climbing challenging, whereas others likely felt the opposite, and it's always up to the person what they want to do. This route had added fun like a zipline, abseiling, and being lowered by rope down into a sea cave. We also were given a snack break with water bottles and a traditional bread that Portuguese fishermen used to take to sea. Extremely fun and exhilirating to experience the Portuguese coast in this way, all while soaking in the beautiful views of the Atlantic. In the afternoon, we did a jeep tour of the area, exploring an old castle and churches, viewing awe-inspiring beaches and visiting an old rock quarry where dinosaur footprints were discovered and preserved. Take a look at their website and see if any activities appeal to you, I think actually getting out in nature is the best way to experience a place, and that proved true again for us with Vertente Natural.

Amazing experience Coasteering with Vertente Natural

Arrabida is such a beautiful spot, it's picture perfect, and coasteering is fantastic fun. The monitors were really nice and Leonor was so kind to us, we would really recommend this company. We have fantastic memories of our trip to Sesimbra and hopefully we'll be back there again someday.

Our team loved this activity!! We recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the coast of Portugal in a fun and unconventional way! The whole COMPANY team was very supportive and entertaining, they really seem to know what they're doing which made us feel a lot more comfortable and safer. Our guide would always give us different options of jumps and paths to follow depending on the difficulty level and this was really useful since some of our team members are afraid of heights. We did this in October and were a bit afraid of the cold, but the wetsuits kept us warm the whole Overall it was an amazing experience and we super recommend it! You'll climb rocks, swim against the current, and jump from rocks - it couldn't be more fun!

Coasteering

So fun ! Rui and Francisco were great. We totally recommend it. Group of 9 girls, it is not that scary. Anyone can join as Rui and Francisco always have different options for each level.

Unique and thrilling experience!

My sister and I had a wonderful coasteering experience, and it was definitely one of the most unique activities I have done. The guide makes you feel safe and has a lot of patience (which is good considering it took us a while to convince our bodies it was okay to jump off a cliff into the ocean!). Besides jumping, we got to climb up cliffs and swim into little caves, and also learn about some of the marine life. There was a boat nearby us at all times to take us to farther away cliffs when needed. Overall, a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to do it again some day!

Coasteering was a really nice experience!

Our guide, Chris, was really nice and competent, we enjoyed our afternoon very much and slept well in the evening! The cliffs are beautiful, it was really fun to climb, swim, jump along them. Some nice gesture, Chris had some local pastry from Sesimbra and water bottles hidden for us at the end on a rock! We recommend the activity!

Coasteering

We had a wonderful afternoon in family with our 13 yo son. It’s quite sporty (swimming and climbing) and challenging (jumps) but most of all breathtaking places to discover along the coast (secrets beaches). Ask for Chris as guide and you’ll spend a unforgettable and funny moment! Tip: bring good grip shoes

Awsome place to discover the Sesimbra coast!

We love to do the Coasteering there! Rapel, Slide and big jumps to the water! Great people working, since the monitors to responsables! Big up for the team! And we recommend all the people to do it! Even the olders and the youngers! Awsome views! The final trip in the boat its amazing to! Shoutout to the boat driver.

Wonderful experience with professional, multilingual and friendly guides

I've done several activities with vertente natural, such as speleology, coasteering and kayaking although this is the first time I'm writing a review and this is the first time I took a friend with me to do coasteering. I had a wonderful experience every time always leaving with the feeling that I should go back for another activity with them, and my friend felt the same and she'd definitely go back to do some other trip with vertente. Their guides are well-seasoned in the activities they do and they're wonderful people as well - always friendly, always professional, quite accommodating and guiding and encouraging those who feel a bit overwhelmed during the activity and providing slightly more challenging routes to those participants who ask for challenges. Above all, the thing I love the most is the camaraderie with the people I meet there during such activities, and the typical sweet of the region ("farinha torrada") that they provide the participants by the end of each activity. I hope they continue doing that. I definitely recommend them 10/10..

Great activity

Amazing experience! I had never done coasteering before, and I loved it, I really got out of my comfort zone. It was always safe, the whole process of booking the tour went smoothly and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Will definitely try other of their activities and perhaps repeat this one.

Brilliant!

We were lucky to find we were just a group of 4, me and my 2 teenagers (19/17) and one other person. Pedro guided us well and we had a fantastic afternoon. It's an amazing bit of coastline, there was plenty of adrenaline for my teenagers with the cliff jumps, we all enjoyed the physical challenge of the activity on a day when the sea was quite choppy (it included a mix of swimming, clambering along the rocks, jumping in, a short zip wire) and we loved the boat ride back into the harbour in the early evening light. We'd definitely recommend this.

We were a group of 10 friends and had an amazing day! The guys who guided us are well trained, patient, and good company. They really added to the experience! The tour it self was great for beginners and people looking for a bit more adventure. The surrounding nature is beautiful and the tour takes exactly long enough to really enjoy it but not get too exhausted. Overall a well guided, great day for a great price.
