This was a BLAST!!!!!! We had so much fun with Jeff. The food was great but the company was even better. We learned so much about Korean BBQ, Soju, Makgeolli and Korean culture. All while laughing till our sides hurt. Jeff was awesome and even helped with restaurant tips the next day. Definitely take this tour.

A Great Introduction to Korean Food!

David Mason, our guide for the evening was a fascinating dining host in his own right, giving insight into the Korean mindset. Couple this with a deep knowledge and love of the people, the culture and the food, we found the whole experience to be excellent. Our first stop, just a couple of hundred metres from the station, was a traditional barbecue restaurant based in an old hemp warehouse district. The food was cooked by us on a heated surface at the centre of the table, accompanied by a (weak!) vodka based drink - delicious! Second stop was a mostly seafood and vegetable tempura type of restaurant. You chose what you wanted (literally!), and they heated it and served it directly to you. Lovely, and with a rice wine to go with it, really wonderful! Third was a chicken-battered palate type of establishment. However, any similarities with Col. Saunders was minimal. This chicken was succulent and definitely high quality. Terra beer was suggested by David for this food, and excellent it was. David was a wonderful and fascinating host, and he delivered us back to the starting point, just a few minutes away from our last stop. A memorable experience. Thank you!

Great time in Seoul

This Meetup was the best part of my trip. I got to meet so many different people visiting seoul and the guide was so knowledgeable and make sure that we knew how to get back on the train. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were even better.

Excellent and Funny Tour!

We were a small group, it almost felt like a private tour. The food places, including the K-Fried Chicken venue were excellent in food and ambience. Our tour guide, Jeff was so friendly, funny, full of information about the food, Korean dining/drinking cultures and norms, as well as great company all through the evening. He even went over the allotted time tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Fun evening!

This should have been the first thing to do in Seoul, a nice evening to get to know the “food culture” in Seoul. So much to eat and no idea what or where? This tour will introduce you to delicious dishes in a very friendly and fun atmosphere… at least that was my experience, thanks a lot!!!!

So full and so many drinks!

Bre was so much fun! Our group was pretty large but she did a great job making us all feel included and got us all talking to each other. She shared with us some important cultural experiences and did a great job juggling everyone. Her personal experiences and anecdotes were fun and made us all feel very welcome, relaxed and enjoyable. Also, big thanks to Lauren! Fried chicken wouldn't have been the same without you. Glad we added it on. It was definitely a ton of food and drinks but we had a great time.

Great starting tour for Seoul!

One of the best nights of my entire trip!!

This was such a fun experience! We were a small group (me — a solo traveler — and a lovely couple from Scotland along with our guide Hannah) and the places, meals and drinks were amazing. These are places I wouldn’t have gone to on my own; it was great having someone who spoke the language. 10/10. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

A must do in Korea!

Such a fun and delicious tour! The guide was great!! The food was delicious, the drinks were plentiful! All the walking stops were a short walk away, and all super authentic places!

Excellent Night Out

Great food and drink, great job by Joe, great company. Excellent restaurant choices, learned the local cuisine and culture. You definitely get your moneys worth, no way you can eat everything that’s served up and you’ll have some drinks you won’t find anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Great introduction to Seoul’s food scene

Glad I booked this food tour for my first evening in Seoul. Traveling solo, I knew it would be hard for me to eat kbbq on my own, since I would have to order at least two portions, in addition to navigating the language barrier. My day started at 5 a.m., so it was nice to give my brain a break and have our expert tour guide Hannah introduce us to some of the best food that Seoul has to offer while exploring a less touristy area of the city. The food was delicious, with my favorite being the pork kbbq’s “seagull” (skirt steak) cut of meat, the minari jeon, and the makgeolli we tried. Hannah was also helpful in offering other tips for exploring Seoul, such as advising me to visit Hongdae for street art, as the art in Ihwa Mural Village had largely been painted over. I enjoyed the conversation as well, and certainly learned a thing or two (ski dancing/ballet, anyone?). Would recommend this tour.

Fantastic evening in Seoul

My husband and I had a great night with Hannah, the three restaurants Hannah took us too were amazing, the food was excellent, drinks flowing and engaging conversation. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting a truly authentic experience in Seoul.

Joe, owner was amazing. So knowledgeable and fun. He picked the most perfect spots for us to enjoy authentic South Korean cuisine. Probably one of our most favorite food tours ever.

A home run on our first night in Seoul.

The three stops in very different settings made this an interesting way to spend the evening. The food and drinks were great at each location. What really set the tour apart was our host Ron. He was a rock star. We got lost on the way to the meeting location and he patiently helped us on the way with maps and phone calls. Once we were with the group he made sure we fit in even though we were late. He also gave us interesting perspectives on the food and culture. He even checked to make sure we got back to our hotel safely. We could not have asked for a better evening on our first night in Seoul.

Fun foodie night out

As a solo traveler, doing BBQ in Seoul would have been tough so this tour helped me experience what I probably won't have alone. Ron was a fantastic guide and made us all feel instantly comfortable. As a solo female traveler I was a little nervous but the two couples in the group were so friendly and fun! The BBQ joint was where Anthony Bourdain had been which was really neat! I've been to kbbq but not in Korea so getting to have that authentic experience was great! And then makgeolli, fried food, and the jeon were so good too! We ended with chicken and beer and played an easy drinking game. I really enjoyed the comradery and getting to know the other travelers. Funny enough one of the couples was staying in the same hotel as me! If you're looking for an authentic experience going to BBQ and other restaurants, check it out! If you're a solo traveler, this was a great way to meet new people and have a shared experience! Thank you again to Ron!

Beyond my expectations

This was the absolute best!! Our guide Hannah was lovely and amazing!! I could have stopped after the first place! The Korean bbq place was perfect full of local! The food was beyond amazing!!! The next stop was so fun and then it hit us that we still had one more stop!!😳 The third stop push me over the edge!!🤣 I hit a food wall and needed a nap! We went in having zero expectations and came out beyond pleased!! This tour is worth every penny!!! I highly recommend!!!!

Creepy hosts

The guy that hosted that trip was so nice but I was a solo girl and he got me really drunk and took advantage of me being alone. I really felt uncomfortable and I wouldn’t recommend people take this tour.

A LOT OF FOOD!

Some food tours give you a few small snacks and some little sips of alcohol, not this one! Come hungry and ready to drink! Jeff stuffed us full of KBBQ, pancakes, fried chicken, beer, and more!

Must go!

We had such a great time! We would have really missed some unique experiences if not for Joe and this tour. We ate, we drank, we sang and laughed. I’d recommend this tour to anyone.

A must do to get an crash course on Korean culture

The tour was great fun with Jeff , providing a great insight on the Korean culture and history. Onion on sale was a master piece.

Delicious

This is an immersive, small group tour. Joe was our guide and he was an excellent host. We learned to cook "sea gull meat" and it was delicious! This was so delightful that I am trying to figure out how to replicate this in my backyard. Joe gave us a wonderful background and history as we prepared our grilled pork in a traditional and unique restaurant. The food was delicious and we learned about Korean cooking and drinking rituals. When we thought we couldn't eat another bite, Joe took us to a traditional Korean pancake place. We went down a row of fresh seafood, picked out a copious amount, and then our platter was turned into delicious, traditional savory pancakes. We learned about different types of soju and Korean drinking games. Come to this tour hungry, you'll want to eat everything!

Get Hyphy in Seoul

No better way to get to know people and a city than eating and drinking your way through an amazing evening. I recommend the three-stops option and to pace yourself. Not only is the food worth it, but moreso is the experience of restaurant/bar hopping with your group and guide. Jeff gave us an awesome time, and shared lovely background on the food, culture, and his own experience living in South Korea. If you are staying here and trying to find a way to familiarize yourself with the city, this tour is mandatory!

We highly recommend this tour on TripAdvisor! We, a small group of four plus our guide Jeff, had an exceptional experience. Jeff was funny, caring, and knowledgeable. The dinner included delicious specialties like Pork "Galmegisal" and thick-cut pork belly. The unlimited drinks, diverse snacks, and insights into traditional Korean alcohol made the experience unforgettable. A must-try with a fantastic local guide!

The perfect start to my Korea adventure

As a solo traveller, this was the perfect way to start my time in Korea. Our guides Ron and Jeff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the group to three authentic dining spots with great food and drinks - the food highlight for me was the korean bbq, something I probably wouldn't have got a chance to try as a solo traveller. We all got on so well we even ended up going for drinks after too! Huge thanks to you both, amazing night and look forward to seeing you again!

Korean immersive Food tour with Hannah

This was the highlight of our Korea vacation. Our Tour Guide Ms Hannah was above and beyond Awesome. She took us to places that only locals go and I loved the intimate atmosphere. Our first was a place that was featured on TV with the late Anthony Bourdain. The Mapo style Korean Bbcue was delicious. Ms Hannah explained a little about the culture , Korean etiquette on some aspects of drinking. The fun part was trying the new food , meeting the other people in the group and just having fun. Ms Hannah took us to 2 other places abd the food was so good. I have to go on a FAST and rest my stomach from all the delicious food. This immersive food tour I highly recommend and when I return to Korea , I definitely want to take this immersive tour again. So go and sign up for this fun Food tour.

Great intro to Korean Food & Culture

My friend and I joined this tour and we were so glad they did. Our guide,Hannah, was great and even offered alternative vegetarian options. It was was nice to try traditional foods while learning more about the culture. We also met a great group of people and enjoyed that aspect as well.

Immersive Korean food tour

The Immersive Korean Barbecue was really fun. It was enriching. Our fabulous Tour Guide Hannah was very nice , funny, and informative. Our first stop was at a local Korean Bbque. It was authentic and the staff was hardworking and the meat delicious. It was in the Mapo district and the Korean barbecue was done in the Mapo style. It was really tasty. The 2nd stop and 3rd stop were great too. The other guests on the tour were from different parts of the world. It was so fun to meet them. I am glad I went on the immersive food tour. Great Guide, Delicious food , enjoyable evening with fun people.

The best food tour in Seoul. Hannah our tour guide was smart and funny. We loved hearing bits of history and trivia about Korean culture. We ate and drank so much! Bbq pork, side dishes, kimchi, Korean fried chicken, tempura style fried dishes, beer, soju, makgeoli eveything was included in the tour price! A super fun night with our tour group. Great time, great food, great guide!

So much fun! I completed this tour with my 19-year old daughter, and she said it was her favourite tour of Seoul in our weeklong vacation! Our tour guide was fantastic (I think her name is Hannah - originally British). We were taken to great places to eat, she explained the process of Korean BBQ and the alcohol background, and was just fun to hang out with. There was so much food and drink! We felt this tour was definitely worth the price and time. Thank you!

Five stars for Hannah

A fun filled, educational trip with so much food and drinks. Our guide Hannah was an absolute gem! She gave us a background on the food culture in Korea and some more other bits of trivia along the way. First stop was Korean bbq with soju and beer. Then we went to a resto serving deep fried items similar to tempura downed with a rice wine called makgeoli. Last stop was fried chicken and beer. Everything was so yummy! We got lucky we were with a fun group so the whole night we ended up laughing and having a great time. Food and drinks were overflowing. Definitely worth every penny. Hannah you are the best :)

Unforgettable food and fun

What a blast, the host was really nice and sociable. The food was fantastic and definitely a place I wouldn't have had the courage to go without a local. Try to pace yourself cause there's a lot of food!

Great food. Cold beer. Good company.

There were two of us who met Hannah for this tour. I'm an older guy, pushing 60, traveling alone, I'm a seasoned traveller. My companions were younger, an Irish man just recently moved to Hong Kong and wanting to explore Asia while he was assigned there. And Hannah, our well travelled guide, 6 year resident of Korea and lover of dogs and Paris. That's the thing about tours like this. When you are traveling solo at least. Who wants to go to a Korean barbeque by themselves? Who even knows which restaurant to go to? This tour was right near my hotel, in what is a pretty famous food district, Mapo. I walked by at least two of the restaurants we went to exploring the neighborhood. How would I know to go in? Three stops, barbeque, fried Korean snacks and KFC and beer. It was just the right slice of Korean cuisine and as all food lovers know, food is culture. If I had it to do again, I would have done this tour first, because walking around with a food lover like Hannah, you not only get a "lay of the land" so you can come back and explore on your own, but a little bit of insight into Korean culture via food. Great experience. I would recommend to anyone, solo traveller or group. Can't guarantee company as good as I experienced but life is a little bit of risk, no?

Incredible food and atmosphere on an amazing tour.

An amazing night out! Excellent food, drink and company. The evening was hosted by Hannah. I went with my 20y old son and others we met in the group included 2 Kiwi sisters and 2 Aussies. We’d all booked the 3 stop tour; BBQ then fried food in the market then chicken in a pub. Go hungry as the beautiful food just keeps coming, and if you have your drinking hat on be prepared as the beer and Soju was flowing all night. After the tour ended and Hannah left, the 6 of us went on for a 4th stop until 2am. We were the only foreigners in all stops so we were certainly off the beaten track. Hannah was the perfect host, telling/showing us Korean food and drink customs, plus a few drinking games… A Seoul highlight for us.

Amazing food and drink, educational and a ton of fun!

This is a must do! Joe was a wonderful guide. At first we were a little disappointed that we met someone who looked like an American as our guide. Yes, our group was American and Korean/American, but we really wanted the inside scoop on the food and culture. We quickly realized that Joe has the inside scoop and knows the language, the locals and the food scene. He has lived there for 19 years and Korea is really his home. We learned so much about the different foods and alcohol and had a ton of fun. It was educational, delicious and one of the highlights of our trip. I can't recommend this tour enough. I imagine the other guides are great too, but I am glad we got Joe.

Great way to kick start a trip to Seoul

Well what a great introduction to the food scene of Seoul. We were met by our guide Joe at the train station and he took us around as we tried great food! You will not go home hungry. I’d highly recommend this tour, you’ll get to learn about the cuisine, eating etiquette and culture. We did this tour the day after we arrived and it was a great way to start our trip. Best Night in Seoul!

Food Tour, you've got it! We had a total BLAST with Joe on this tour, he was so fun and brought us to some epicly delicious restaurants. We were hootin' and hollerin' all night, what a trip! The food, was absolutely delicious. From the amazing pork belly, to the tempura everything, to the fried chicken, we can't stop talking about our experience. Our family of 10 was so incredibly happy, we would do it all again if we could! Must go! Joe was the BEST!!

Fantastic night in Seoul!

We recently went on this food tour in Seoul and had just the best time. Our tour guide, Joe, was so wonderful and we were hooting and hollering all night. We started with the pork belly and beer, what a TREAT! We were so fat and happy after that but that's not all. We moved onto the next place, to get tempura and more drinks, YUMMY! Finally, we moved to the final stop to get fried chicken, DELICIOUS!. The food was amazing, but that's not all, Joe was so fun, informed, and fabulous! Our whole party of 10 had so much fun and would recommend this tour without a doubt! Thanks Joe!

Highly recommended

Would recommend this tour - it's a great way to try Korean BBQ as a solo traveler (which can be quite difficult as it is more of a group thing). The places we visited for food were really nice, and it felt very genuine and a local experience and not "touristy". Ron was my tour guide, who was great to chat to and learn from. Would recommend doing the 3 stop version of the tour (the fried chicken place is nice - and is a good opportunity to try some beer and soju, and a mix of the two!). Left the tour feeling merry and with a full belly. No complaints here!

Off the beaten track in Korea

If you want to eat at a tourist restaurant with menus in English and poor food in a sterile environment then DO NOT DO THIS TOUR! If you want a real Korean Experience, with a superb English speaking guide who has lived in Korean for numerous years then sign up now. What a great night (even with jetlag). Hannah provided us with great insight into her experience living in South Korea, as well as a great BBQ chef, she really had us all engaged throughout the evening. I can't recommend it highly enough. Great guide, great food!

Ron was a sympathetic and entertaining guide, food was also very tasty. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, had great conversations about culture, food and history. Be aware that this tour mainly consists of meat-dishes!

Fun introduction to city and Korean food!

What a blast! Hannah was the hostess with the mostest, and took us to some awesome bbq, fried foot and fried chicken places. Lots of food, lots of drinks and lots of laughs! We also learned a lot about Korean culture, and doing this on my first day in Seoul was the perfect introduction to the city, highly recommend!

omg, what an amazing night. First of all, our guide (Hannah) was a fantastic host, fun to hang out with and gave us tons of interesting cultural tidbits about Korea. Every one of the three food stops was incredible. The port BBQ, the night market and the fried chicken place were all exceptional. I'd return to any one of them. Hannah made everyone feel so comfortable from the first moment we met. And the ever-flowing soju and beer helped too lol Highly recommended. So good that next time I'm in Seoul (hopefully in two months) I'll do this tour again!
