DMZ tour with Jun was 100% worth it!

We went on 11th June for the full day DMZ tour with the boat experience. Our tour guide Jun was amazing, personal, friendly and even funny ☺️ Honestly he was the one that made the experience worth it for me!

THE BEST HOST

I have been getting Viator to see different places in different countries, every time me and my family travel abroad. So far, the DMZ tour hosted by JUN of PLK Travel and Tours was the best we experienced, compared to other hosts. He can speak English and easy to understand and provides historical information about Korea and the DMZ. We didn't experience any dull moments with him. DMZ visit

Mr. Cool, the tour guide was awesome. We liked the places, especially going into the 3rd inflitration tunnel. We visited the Dora Observatory and it was a clear day so we were able to see into North Korea.

Our guide is Julie. The bus pick us up very on time, so do the entire trip schedule. She is very friendly and helpful. She guide the tour very seriously yet very relax. Double thumbs up!!. In a simple short summary, our today trips to DMZ is terrific.

Exceptionally dedicated guide who goes above and beyond

If you get a tour with Julie Park you're blessed beyond comprehension. She's dedicated and explained the day's schedule very clearly. She sets clear briefing of the site before we get off the bus, stressing the safety and procedures for the site. If there's one suggestion I can give to Julie to improve her tour guiding, it's to also take care of yourself as much as taking care of your guests

Great guide to the DMZ.

Must do tour with lovely tour guide

A must do tour when you want to know and understand more about the coming about and the situation nowadays between the two Korea’s, with the icing on the cake a glimpse of N-Korea. But what truly made our tour unique, was our tour guide Julie. Without her outstanding knowledge, sparkling energy, enthusiasm, funniness and wittiness, and personal attention for everybody, this tour wouldn’t be the same. 5 stars, or as we say in Europe: douze points. Thank you Julie!

Opposing sides: technology and delay

The tour was great and very interesting and educational. It was a history lesson and we had the privilege of visiting a historic place.

Tour guide Julie really makes the tour enjoyable with her friendly personality and energy. She let us know what to expect during each stage of the tour and answered all questions even unrelated. She somehow got to know 40 peoples names and background over the course of the day. She makes you feel like a friend and even had one participant in happy tears on saying goodbye.

Great tour! Highly commendable

It was very informative and helpful. The guide was very respectful, articulate and personable. It’s good to hear how the guide presented the information as her nation’s story. It made the presentation very relatable! We had a great experience! The tour is definitely a highlight for our trip! (We are going on a five week tour through Asia at the moment).

Great guide with a great content

We highly recommend this tour and you wouldn't go wrong if you get Julie as your guide! She speaks perfect English and is very humorous and helpful. We learnt about the history of the Japanese occupation of Korea and the Korean War. I was touched and in tears even when hearing the light version of it. The third tunnel wasn't as hard as I thought (from reading previous reviews). I had the wrong impression that we are going down steps but this is not true. We were basically going down a slope. It was about 350m long and it could be a bit hard on the knees. I hurt my knees the day before and could still manage it. You just have to take it slowly and not rush through it. Going back up will probably be harder for some but again, it was a gentle slope (incline is 11) that one just have to take it slowly. Manjang lake was beautiful and we really enjoy the walk there. We had enough time for each location and didn't feel rush at all. Once again, we just want to thank our guide Julie for making the tour such an enjoyable experience. We hope to see you in the future should we join any of the tours.

The DMZ tour with Julie was amazing! First of all Julie was an amazing tourguide who shared all the ins and outs of the DMZ and Korean history and was very engaging to listen to! She organized the whole day perfectly and we got to see everything we wanted to see

Wonderful experience

Our experience was very good, we met really cool people from other countries with whom we were able to exchange experiences. we visited beautiful places like the suspension bridge with a wonderful view. Our guide, Julie, was very kind and attentive throughout the tour and shared stories and information about the points we visited and we were able to learn a little more about the war between the two Koreas and also the sad situation of the people who live above. an incredible and memorable tour.

JULIE IS LITERALLY THE BEST

Truthfully this was one of the most fun lil tours I had in a while! It was jam packed with. Bunch of activities and history. It was pretty interesting to hear more about the history behind the two koreas and a bit about Japan as well. I think that it is a great tour if you wanted to learn truly about the country’s history. I think the person that made it the best was our tour guide Julie however! I don’t know what it was, but she made us feel so welcome and was excited to teach us about the history of our country. On top of that she made us feel so welcome and like we had a true friend in Seoul! She was a great tour guide and an even better person! Thank you Julie!! 사랑해요 🫶

The half-day tour is a great way of being introduced to the horrors of the past and the current political situation. The secret star of the tour, however, was our brilliant and funny guide Julie. Best Tour We'd Been - Thank you Julie !

The DMZ Tour we went was simply amazing amd I will book it again if given the chance all because of only 1 reason - our Tour Leader Ms. Julie, whom was one hell of a guide n i must say Julie is definitely the best in the business ! I mean her knowledge, her hospitality for the entire group and her entusiasum n passion for her job is second to none ! She really went out of her way to ensure that everybody on that tour was very comfortable, she took selfies n groupies with everyone with the sole aim of making sure everyone in her group wemt home very happy. I have NEVER seen any Tour Leader / Guide as passionate as her and if i were to open a Tour Agency whether in Korea or in my hometown, i'd definitely hire her !

Informational tour + exceptional guide

Julie really puts her heart into her work, you can tell she’s very knowledgeable about the topic and she pairs it with a high level of attention to detail (she calls everyone by name even after 10 mins and looks after everyone’s needs). The tour was short and sweet, must see to learn more about the history of the country

Unforgettable Memories

This tour has given me unforgettable memories. I went with my friend from Australia, and I was deeply moved by this experience, even though I live in Korea. In particular, Guide Moon Young's explanations about Korean history and her stories of visiting Mt. Kumkang added sincerity and value to the tour. The highlight of the tour for me was the 3rd Tunnel. Although it is definitely an unpleasant place, walking through the tunnel made me contemplate not only the difficult relationship between the two Koreas but also the significance of their connection. I felt that North Korea was much closer than I had previously thought. At the Dora Observatory, it wasn't easy to locate the spots I had heard about from the guide, but Moon Young kindly assisted us in finding the places we wanted to see. In addition to these meaningful locations, the cafes and restaurants were also excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the soybean ice cream. ^^ This tour is very well organized, and Guide Moon Young is highly professional.

Awesome Tour

This was a very well organised comprehensive tour for everyone. Firstly, I visited beautiful and peaceful Imjingak. I was almost crying when Moon young explained about North and South korea's history. Afterwards, I went to the amazing, and curious DMZ. Exploring the third tunnel to wear helmet is not to be missed. It could be once in a life time experience. I won't forget it. Last stop was Dora observatory. I saw North korea's buildings, fields, statute, etc through the telescope. It was a little bit hard to find them. Tour guide Moon young just approached me and told me how to find them easily.  She was very helpful and was willing to help all tour team members. Delicious Soybean Vegan ice cream was a bonus:) It was a truly unforgettable experience!!!!

Well worth of DMZ visit

This was a great tour ever I had! I had dinner appointment after the tour, so needed to figure out something fun spending my day time. And this was my best decision I could tell. Highlight was dokgae brdige- please take the photo, the third tunnel, the Dora Observatory to see the view toward the North Korea. It was such a lucky day that I could see the clear view. Guide spoke English fluently and provided excellent overview of Korean history relevant to the tour with a balanced touch of humour. Two thumbs up!

Professional and helpful team

I didn't end up going on the tour because I ran out of time, but these guys are really professional and Julie is very nice! They're happy to answer questions via whatsapp and very helpful. I'll definitely do a tour with them when I'm back in Seoul.

This is our first tour like this we’ve ever done so we didn’t know what to expect - but we were super happy and will definitely do something like this again. Heather did an amazing job of the tour. She is knowledgeable, kind and funny. The coach was super comfy, the activities were awesome, we had a bit of drizzle but it didn’t affect the day at all. Worth it 100% if you are in Seoul, have a day to kill or want to access/see the DMZ easily.
