Had a great day, good price including lunch and traffic, unfortunately could not see many manta rays.

Absolutely awful from the moment the picked us up from transfer sat in a hot car whilst they went and collected other people and not arranged so was waiting for an hour. Then the waiting for boat and when we arrived they told us the activity I had booked because I had to be back to leave on the return boat at 2.30 I could not do the snorkeling which is the only reason i went. They then told me I'd be doing the west tour and I had no choice. Basically only visited two of the sites NOT the four which is advertised. The lunch was disgusting at a shack at the side of a road, hole in the floor for a toilet and fly's everywhere. Basically spent the whole day in a bloody car!! Literally the worst experience and nobody spoke English or they decided not too so they wouldn't help. I want to get refunded at least partially for this absolute sham of a tour!!!!!

Be warned, dodgy service and practice

I was in the process of booking this package as suggested in the reviews however upon trying to arrange the booking Wayan tried to scam us by charging us extra through private confirmation. When we tried to state the advertised price on Tripadvisor he said that this advertisement was fake and not his (which is false because it's linked to his IG). Our group felt uncomfortable about this dishonesty and we decided to book elsewhere. I don't feel comfortable about trusting a guide that is trying to scam us. In addition, the other person's review about the staff's negligence to the tourist's safety is also incredibly concerning. If you view his "Discover Nusa Penida" page, another reviewer reported that Wayan charged that group extra to see Mantas which was supposed to be included in their package. This is dishonest practice! Our safety and trust are not worth this "experience".

We spent an amazing and unforgetable moment with funny Wayan and his professional team. They are carefull with us but also with animals and the environment. The groups are not so big, so we felt good, relax and secured. Organization is very good, Wayan cares of everything! We 100% recommand DNP

Great Guide and beautiful Kelingking Beach

Booked the Kelingking beach, Broken beach/Angel Billabong and Crystal Bay tour in early May. The guide Putu is a very lively and cheerful person, very accommodating (brought us to some nice cafes for breakfast and coffee) and helped us with many pictures of this beautiful island. And the driver was very skillful and safe too. The attractions are swarmed with tourists as you can image post-Covid but the spectacular Kelingking beach makes it worth it. Broken beach and Angel Billabong was nice too but Crystal Bay was disappointing as it was a little dirty and littered with plastics. I would advise heading out early to Kelingking and going all the way down to the beach to have a swim or just lie on the sands, and skipping Crystal Bay.

HIGHLIGHT of my Bali trip

The HIGHLIGHT of my entire Bali trip! Wayan was such a wonderful snorkeling and tour guide. He was flexible with his time and we were able to do everything he said we would. He arranged a snorkeling boat for us even though my (separate) transport to Nusa Penida was late. He made sure I was the first one in the water and he would ALWAYS make sure that I saw everything there is to see. We were up close with a Big manta ray and saw sea turtles and lovely coral reefs! He prepared me well for the snorkeling and I felt safe and comfortable even though it was my first time!! I had a lovely lunch and afterward we went for the land tour. Throughout the whole trip he made sure we had lovely pictures and videos of both the snorkeling and the land tour! Such an amazing adventure!

Highly recommend: Swimming with MANTA RAYS is out of this world!

Husband and I were on a family trip in Bali and decided to skip out for a day of exploration on Nusa Penida. We took the ferry with no solid itinerary besides hoping to swim with a manta ray and maybe take a scooter around to explore before coming back to Bali. Folks, we ran into the right person. Wayan helped us with the scooter rental and planning out a quick itinerary- after bonding over our love of the ocean (he is *very* considerate of the environment and supremely protective of the ocean creatures, A+) we headed out on a tour boat. Wayan is a kind, friendly, attentive, and safe guide, explaining everything about the mantas and also the truth: that it's not a guarantee to see them on every excursion. That being said, the gods smiled on us on May 16th because we saw FOUR of those colossal, heavenly creatures. He also took us to snorkel by a dropoff where we saw tons of fish and ocean life! After heading back, we had a quick makan (bite to eat) and Wayan led us to Kelingkling beach via scooter for some awesome photos. We are so appreciative of Discover Nusa Penida and Wayan's excellent tour guidance. He was also so thoughtful to send a USB of our manta pics to the front desk of our hotel a couple days later. Friendly VIP experience

My friend, her 8year old daughter and I went on the mixed snorkel and hike tour with Wayan last week. We absolutely loved it! Wayan is so passionate about sea life and providing a holistic experience with VIP treatment. It was very private and we felt safe in the whole trip. He made sure to keep an eye on all of us and stayed with my friend’s daughter also. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We really saw the best of the best of Nusa Penida and everything went so smoothly. So glad we went with this company rather than the crowded boats we saw passing us by! Wholeheartedly recommend him!!

Best part of our new year’s trip to Nusa Penida

After reading some reviews, my girlfriend and I decided to go with Wayan to snorkel with the famous Mantas on Nusa Penida. He is very careful with the animals and appeals to the guests to behave responsibly as well, which I really liked. He gave us a private tour around three beautiful reefs, plus of course the Manta Bay. He went with us into the water and provided a safe environment for us, moving with the currents, and also taking a lot of photos, that we could just easily download at the end of the trip. For the highlight, the Mantas, he made sure we would swim with a few of them by spending a lot of time in that bay. Generally Wayan took great care to make this an unforgettable experience for us, making this the highlight of our new year’s trip and one of our favorite experiences in Bali overall.

Incredible manta ray snorkling experience! BEST SERVICE ON NUSA PENIDA!

Hands down the best possible manta ray snorkling experience! My girlfriend and I went with Wayan because I read a very good review about him and that he - different from others - does an ecofriendly Tour and actually cares about the environment. Well I was not disappointed! Wayan gave us an experience that couldn’t have been better. And you really can see that he loves snorkling and the ocean abs he really cares to preserve the pristine animals and the sea. We were lucky enough to see 3 mantas on the tour (which is not a given. After all these are still wild animals) But even without that it would’ve been a trip worthwhile! If you are on Nusa Penida & you want to have a snorkling tour and dive with mantas: Go with Wayan! It will be the right decision. He also has a camera for underwater and shoots some amazing pictures so you will never forget the amazing experience(and can show off to others 😉) Hope to come back soon.

Beautiful views

The guided tour of this small island was a wonderful and enlightening experience. We traveled with a large group and were provided with air conditioned vehicles and experts drivers. The broken road whoa what a ride. This tour is a most do, and the included lunch was fantastic.

Couldn’t have asked for a better tour snorkel experience!

Wayan was an incredible tour guide! We had a small group of 7 people (my boyfriend, a group of 5 and myself) which allowed Wayan to provide a more personal experience. He helped everyone out, whether the struggle was big or small. We all paid 200,000 Rupiah extra each to visit Manta Point and it was well worth it. We saw 7 Manta Rays (suuuper lucky) and he helped filmed incredible shots! Manta point is a lot less busy than Manta Bay. The seas were slightly rough however that is no fault of the tour guides, it’s simply not what I was expecting so make sure you come prepared with ginger gummies if you’re prone to sea sickness! Other than that, we could not fault this trip at all. So professional and they genuinely care about your well-being so listen to them! Will definitely be returning if we decide to snorkel at Nusa Penida in the future :)

Manta Mix Tour with Discover Nusa Penida

We booked the manta mix tour and unfortunately didn't see any manta rays that day but the guide (Wayan) tried his best to find us some. We visited two other snorkelling spots and saw a turtle and lots of marine life. Wayan was very passionate and concerned that we had a good time. Lunch was lovely at a local restaurant. The land-based tour in the afternoon was a bit underwhelming - the roads are so bumpy that the drive was uncomfortable and very slow. The visits at the tourist spots (Angel Billabong/Broken Beach/Kelingking Beach) were quite short due to the slow roads and needing to get back to the port for the last ferry home. On reflection I would have loved to stay for 2 days so we could spend more time at each spot potentially. The government should invest money into better roads. The boat trip there and back was uncomfortable as they crammed so many people onto the boat that it was way overcapacity. That was not organised by Discover Nusa Penida tour though and a general tourist boat!

Amazing snorkeling experience

I contacted Wayan the night before I wanted to take the trip and he was more than accommodating. Everyone in the team from the driver who picked up and dropped me ( he played Bollywood songs for me in the car and told me about his island and family) to the tour guide who showed me around the Nusa Penida island later ( took many many photos of me till I was satisfied haha) were very helpful, friendly and polite. But Wayan is the true star. I went snorkeling with him in the morning and he made sure to take extra care of me because I was kinda scared in the beginning. We got to see three giant manta rays (experience of a lifetime) and he was as excited that we got to see them as we were. He went to great lengths to take special care of me and this other old lady because he knew we might get uncomfortable with the rough water. He was always ready to chat and was very kind and helpful always making sure all of us were having a great time snorkeling. Highly recommend Discover Nusa Penida - you will be taken good care of 😄

Good snorkeling but shorter than expected

We booked a tour with a large group from Nusa Penida. Pickup and dropoff at our hotel was no problem. There was a lot of wind so we could not visit all 5 spots of the tour. The places we did go were nice and we saw a few mantas. We were dissapointed in the duration, the website advertised the trip was until 14:30 but we were back by 11:00 because of the bad weather. Apparently tours are usually till 12:00-12:30 so keep that in mind when booking.

Manta rays were amazing!

Would really recommend Discover Nusa Penida, we saw over 10 manta rays at manta point, turtles and beautiful fish at the other snorkelling spots. Lunch was very tasty Italian restaurant with lots of choice. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable and took pictures of us with the mantas and sent them to us after.

Mixed Manta Tour

We had an amazing day on Nusa Penida. We were so lucky to swim with manta rays. Wayan was a fantastic guide and would recommend this tour.

Wayan's Manta Mix Tour

We did this tour and thought it was the hilight of our holiday in Bali. Wayan organises every thing from the time your are picked up at your accomodation to the time you are dropped back. He was at the wharf in Nusa Penida to meet us, took us to his office to get snorkelling gear then back to his boat and on the way to Manta Bay.The sea was a bit rough with large swell, just as thrilling as white water rafting. Once we got there the water in the bay was like a washing machine but once in the water it felt much calmer. I'm 70 and if I can do it, anyone with some snorkelling experience can do it. On the way Wayan explained that if there were no Mantas at Manta Bay he could take us to Manta Point for a small extra fee, about IRP20k each, but we were lucky there were Mantas in the bay. Once in the water I was looking down and didn't realise until I looked up that there was a Manta at arms length in front of me. What a fantastic experience. In all there must have been about 6 Mantas including some really big ones deeper down. When we returned from Manta Bay we had lunch at the restaurant next door, also included in the tour price. After lunch Wayan and his driver took us for a tour of part of the island. Unfortunately there are a lot of tourists on the island and the roads and carparks at the scenic spots were that busy it would have taken too long. We did, however, get to the cliff over looking Kelingking Beach and left as the traffic jam started. Wayan gave us a very informative running commentary along the way about the island, it's people and customs. If you do one thing while in Bali go on this day tour.

Awesome visit to Nusa Penida with Wayan - Manta Mix Tour

Wayan began the day by telling us the swells were large and choppy and that we may not be able to swim with the mantas - we went to the spot and it was very rough. Continued to snorkel in two other spots with was awesome! Tropical fish and saw a sea turtle. Carried on to lunch and then went exploring. Wayan shared all his knowledge about the island and lots of laughs on the way. Road is very bumpy so felt nice to be in a car compared to a scooter. Christie and I loved our day. Thank you Wayan and the team at Discover Nusa Penida.

Awesome Experience

My friend and I travelled to Nusa Penida to specifically see Manta..we could have taken a cheaper trip but liked the reviews on Wayan..He was very honest about the fact Manta had not been see at Manta bay for 10 days so if we wanted a better chance of seeing them we would need to try Manta Point which would be a higher cost...it was worth it to see about 6 large rays at close proximity.Wayan was very mindful of ensuring everyone had the experience the came for and assisted those who were not entirely comfortable in the choppy water. The next day we did an island toir with one of his other guides and had a great time with him and seeing the spectacular beaches..I would definitely recommend DNP.

Amazing Experience! Wayan is the best!

We are so happy that we chose Wayan and his company to take us snorkeling. Wayan was extremely knowledgable about the area and knew all the best spots. Wayan arranged our travel from Ubud bali to Nusa Penida making our travel there so easy and stress free. Once on the water, our first stop was Manta Bay where unfortunately there weren't any manta rays. However, while all the other boat tours gave up on the mantas and turned around to go to the next snorkel stops, Wayan told us that if we wanted another chance to see mantas he would boat us an extra 30-40 minutes to a spot called Manta Point where the mantas are even bigger and more frequently found. We took Wayan's offer and had the most incredible experience. We swam with 5 huge manta rays and were the only snorkelers in the area. Looking down into the water we saw these giant beautiful creature and as soon as you popped your head out of the water you were greeted by a breathtaking cliff face that felt out of this world. We continued to the four other snorkeling spots where the fish, coral, and 3 turtles we saw were just as beautiful. Wayan's snorkel tour was amazing and a memory I will always look back on with much joy. Thank you Wayan!

Best Snorkeling

Booked into this tour at the very last minute and it did not disappoint. Both guides were super friendly and informative. The snorkeling tour went from 9am to 11am and cost 300,000 rupiah ($30 Aus approx) We stopped at 5 reefs to snorkel. We were lucky enough to swim with dolphins, manta rays and turtles. There were also an array of tropical fish, and huge GTs. Our guide told us that in the 15 years he has been snorkeling off nusa penida this was the first time dolphins had been present for people snorkeling. We had a such a great morning, if we return to nusa penida we will go again for sure

Thumbs up to Wayan at Discover Nusa Penida!

First if all, Wayan and his crew were amazing and always have a small group which sets this tour company apart from the others. We did the 5-stop snorkel tour and got to see Manta Rays, turtles and many different colourful fish and corals. As for other reviewers who complained about the water condition, they don’t control how rough the water can be! Wayan took especially great care of me when I felt a little nauseous from the waves by then end of the trip. I highly recommend Wayan’s company, Discover Nusa Penida. Unsafe snorkeling trip

I booked this tour because of all the positive reviews I read about the attentive boat crew making the not so strong swimmers feel comfortable. This did not happen the day I went on the nusa penida snorkel and island tour with discover nusa penida. First, a little background. I am not the greatest swimmer. For that reason, I always thoroughly research companies and book tours that have been known for their safety. So the day of this tour I informed the boat crew that I was not the strongest swimmer. When we approached our first destination the captain abruptly said “quick manta ray jump in.” No one jumped in because the waves and current were strong and making everyone on the boat nervous. So the captain moves us to a less chaotic snorkel site and again yells the same. There was no order to the chaos and everyone started jumping in with a minutes notice including myself. After jumping in I found myself in strong waves and no sign of my captain or crew. I had struggled for at least 10 minutes and no one had noticed. We didn’t see any manta rays that dive. Our second dive, I mentally prepared myself and was better able to handle the situation. But note the situation did not change, the captain was not looking after my safety and the chaos of diving was all the same. After our second dive we did not do a 3rd snorkeling trip as was promised. Also, the boat ride was incredibly rocky. My girlfriend was with me and asked for sea sick tablets but they did not have any (as mentioned in the other reviews). She and another passenger each threw up 2x. The captain nor crew checked up on her. Luckily an American doctor was on board and helped her. Also the land experience is pretty much an instagram photo shoot. You do not visit the beaches at all. Thats probably my fault for not clarifying that. Everything else was as expected. Friendly private driver to and from your hotel. A good lunch. Refreshments throughout the day. Pleasant staff. You do get to see manta rays! TLDR: if you are booking this experience as a beginner snorkeler, I would suggest booking with another company. I did not feel safe during this experience. Also, if you expecting to snorkel at 3-5 sites, as suggested by other reviews, don’t count on it. I complained about this and my experience and the management did not care. I only snorkeled at 1 site and snorkeled to see mantas at another (but just mantas). Finally, bring your own sea sickness tablets.

Fun and sustainable

We had an amazing day out. We turned up to Discover Nusa Penida in the morning without having booked the day before. They welcomed us and were happy for us to come along for the trip. We swam with manta rays, turtles, giant trevally and a whole lot of tropical fish and coral. It was great to see how much the crew cared for the environment too. They encouraged us to pick up rubbish as we swum and bring it to the boat.

I swam with Mantas !!!

I was staying in a rural part of Penida. Wayan came to pick me up and dropped me back to my hotel again which I really appreciated for a small fee. When I got to the office, wayan said the other 2 people on the tour had cancelled so it was just me. Any other tour I’m sure would have cancelled me, but no wayan took me out on the snorkelling trip as promised. I really was desperate to swim with mantas. Wayan even said he prayed for me the night before for there to be some :) and I swam with lots. We visited 5 different snorkel spots. Each very different. And wayan made sure we didn’t go to where it was overcrowded. He personalised the tour and really made it special. He also helped me take some good footage on my go pro and took some underwater pictures of me. Highly recommended if you want to snorkel in Penida. Thank you Wayan!

Snorkelling tour

A wonderful day snorkelling with experienced local guide Wayan & his team. While as explained you don’t always get to see Manta Ray (nature is nature) we were very fortunate to see one at this time of year! Wayan is passionate and loves the ocean and this shines through in his actions (retrieving floating bags etc from water) and the knowledge he shares with his guests throughout the tour. We enjoyed every minute of our day trip to Nusa Penida.

Mixed manta snorkeling with land tour!

Thank you to Wayan and his team at Discover Nusa Penida! I was travelling solo for the first time and was a bit worried about the whole process. As promised, a driver picked me up from my hotel in Ubud right on time, took me to the port where I boarded the fast boat and Wayan was there to meet me on the other end. Initially I was told I would be going to three snorkeling spots, however I was taken to five! They are absolutely beautiful! I saw huge manta rays, beautiful fish and even a turtle! After the snorkeling I was taken to a local restaurant to have lunch and was even able to take a shower there. Wayan then took me by private car around the island to Kelingking beach, Broken Beach and Angel Billabong. He provided a lot of great information about the island and the culture and he voluntarily took all of my photos for me! At the end of the trip, he took me back to the port to board the fast boat and waited until I was seated before he left. On the other end, I once again had a driver waiting to take me back to my hotel. Thank you again to Wayan and his team!

Well organized, just the best all I can say!

We have stayed in Bali for a week, and been schedule to Nusa penida. The trip is well organized , from the pick up and drop off. Wayan is very nice and professional English speaking guide, easy to communicate! He took us to the snorkelling spot, where we saw manta rays , reef fish, and much more. It was really nice that he prepared with ice water and towel , which really essential for such a hot day. We are able to take a shower in lunch place, the meal was good. He was so patient, took many nice pics for us. Made us feel like what we had paid for was worth it! It is totally 100% recommended!

Wayan's love for the island really shone through the entire tour. We couldn't ask for a better guide that have so much enthusiasm and excitement while doing his job! The corals were so beautiful. The team was very friendly and well prepared with towels, snorkelling equipment, and bottled water. We traveled around the coast of Nus Penida in a comfortable speedboat to several spots, where we saw manta rays, vibrant coral, turtles, reef fish, giant trevallies, and much more. For lunch we were brought to a good and nice warong to have a fresh lunch. Thank you Wayan and team. Island Day Tour

Ketut is a fantastic local (English - speaking) guide. We enjoyed his company very much and learnt a lot (geological history of the Island, economic history of the Island, presiding Hindu deities etc etc). Amazing snorkeling trip 10/10!!!

My friend and I were on a tight budget trip, wayang helped us, and it was one of the best snorkeling trips I’ve ever been to! Got to see nearly 2-4 mantas, 3 turtles and amazing coral reefs! Wayang is such an amazing guide and he’s such a funny and free spirited dude! He knew good spots and is also an incredible free diver! Great tour, well organised and good equipment

I booked a tour with Wayan to do 2 snorkel dives and a land trip to see the highlights of Nusa Penida for our group of 9. I booked via email and the response was super fast every time! We even had a last minute ‘hiccup’ and needed to change the date and it was no issue at all. The pickup was on time and boat was very nice and new looking. It took us to Penida where we could all get fitted for our fins and masks. Most of the ocean facing bays are quite rough, and as my daughter is quite young Wayan took us to a quieter spot with flat water. The adults did the Wall first. There were 2 guides in the water with us at all times,which was reassuring for the more nervous of us. My daughter was quite nervous (this was only her 2nd snorkelling experience) but Wayans other assistant was so good with her that she was happy to stay in for a good 30 minutes, and he even dived down to point out Nemo for her-she was so happy! Lunch was included, which was basic, but nice. Now for the ‘land leg’ of the tour. The cars were comfortable but the roads once away from the main towns are not! Of course this has nothing to do with Wayans great tour, but just a heads up that if you suffer car sickness-i would definitely steer clear of this part! We did 3 sites-Klungkung beach, Broken beach and Angel Billabong. The last 2 are in the same place. All amazing and beautiful spots but it is a lot of very bouncy driving. As Wayan says ‘This is Ricky Martin Road. Shake ur Boom-boom!’ 😆 Overall we all had a great day. Next tour I do, I think I would just do snorkelling and not worry about the car section (have seen now anyway). Wayan has a wicked sense of humour and just wants his guests to feel safe and enjoy themselves. He is from Nusa Penida as are his staff, so your money goes into the local economy as well. Taxi ride around Nusa Penida

The boat ride across from Sanur to Nusa Penida with Go Gun Express, very good. As you disembark from the dock at Nusa Penida, the taxi drivers are there waiting to get your business, we ended up paying 500,000 rupiah for 6 of us in a van for the day. Our 1st stop was at Angels Billabong and Broken Beach, the main road around the island is fairly new bitumen, so the drive was pretty good but its what we call a single lane road not dual carriageway, but the drivers seem to get around each other. This is the part that wasnt so good, once you venture off the main road going to Broken Beach etc, its four wheel drive country, pot holes every where and the ride is very bumpy, there is one road in and one road out, it took awhile to get there but even when you get there we couldnt get to the beach, the view is okay, but you have been warned. The next part of the trip was fine , the driver will stop at a viewing point to a beach, great views excellent beach, but the walk to the beach is down the hill and it looks very steep in parts and not for the faint hearted. The last stop is Crystal Beach, nice beach with good views but its not like Aussie beaches . One thing the water is refreshing and once you get your beach lounge with umbrella for 100,000 rupiah, you can relax for awhile, we had 3 hours at Crystal Beach till we had to return to the main dock to get the big boat back to Sanur. My recommendation is to check out the prices for boat travel, it might be a bit more but may save you a bumpy ride. The boat will stop at Crystal Beach for you to have a swim and there would be snorkeling kit on the boat hopefully.

Cheap alternative to Nusa Penida

A big thanks to Ketut, the owner of The Jingga Villas, who taught us how to save for trip to Nusa Penida. There are many service providers that offer Rp1.2million to 2million for 2 pax but we had spent only Rp790, 000. If you are a budget traveller, you may consider this option to Nusa Penida. - Park your scooter at yellow bridge. You can go anytime as you like. However, if you plan to cover most of the west coast, try to get on the boat not later than 10am. - Buy a boat ticket to Nusa Penida from a boat provider at yellow bridge. It only cost Rp60, 000 per way. So, we had bought return boat transfer for 2 pax totaling of Rp240, 000. - There is not fix schedule on the departure. As long as they got enough passage (minimum of 5) the boat will start the journey. The journey to Nusa Penida only takes around 25minutes. - The drop off point is Tayo Pakeh Harbour Nusa Penida. Once you reach, there are many provider that selling the tour to west coast, which inclusive of Paluang cliff, Kellingking t rex, broken bridge, angel billabong and crystal bay. It only cost Rp550, 000 and the price is inclusive of the entrance fees to all the attraction. We were so lucky to engage Khairul, a young man that have good driving skill and tour. He even recommended a warung that has good food for our lunch. He will let you know the best spot for photo shooting and good photographer. We finished the tour and back to harbour around 330pm as we did not swim in crystal bay because we forgot to bring swim suit😓. Simply Awesome Snorkelling!

Having snorkelled in quite a few fab places around the world, I have to say, today’s trip was probably one of the best snorkelling experiences... 5 snorkel sites, each with something to see. We thought we lucked out when we followed a Manta Ray, but then at the next site, we came across a turtle!! It was also fantastic to see the different coloured coral, still very much alive and swaying in the water. The third site, was endless fish of all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes, made even more fun with a gentle current taking you along. The kids, loved it! One was slightly unsure of the water but the Discover team were really supportive and helpful. We ended the tour with a simple but tasty main course - which you could choose from a limited menu - but perfectly limited. We were picked up from our hotel at 6.30am and back about 3.00pm and caught 2 hours of sunbathing! We felt particularly lucky to be a boat of 6 people with two guides and a driver, particularly when you see crowed boats passing by. We are so glad we booked the trip, worth every penny and fab to go to Nusa Penida. Thank you to the two guides, driver of the boat and driver of our car transport. A great team committed to ensuring the day goes smoothly, we had an awesome time!

Quick Half-Day

The equipment was clean and of good quality. Our tour guide, Matty, was funny and energetic. They picked us up by scooter from our hotel on Nusa Penida and were extremely friendly. Our small boat had 6 passengers, our guide, and a driver. We stopped at 5 locations. Unfortunately, we did not see any Mantas (I get the feeling it is more common NOT to see mantas) though we did see dolphins and sea turtles as well as great reefs and many colorful fish. Crystal Bay was our favorite spot.

Great experience!

I would definitely recommend Discover Nusa Penida! Wayan and his team were very nice, professional and they care about you. When we started snorkeling, I panicked when I saw jellyfishes because I got stung a several times last year in Thailand while snorkeling, but when Wayan noticed that, he came to me, calmed me down, even touch the jellyfish to show me they are harmless and then hold my hand the whole time. Because of him I felt relaxed and really enjoyed snorkeling. We went to six spots and saw 2 huge mantas, turtle, dolphins and numerous fishes. It was really a great experience.

Loss of time!

Truly kind and talkative staff and owner, beautiful underwater, but...... We booked Manta ray mix program which included snorkeling and land tour ( more detailed description you can find on their web page). We payed the price and what we found out later is that you can have scuba diving for the the same price in some other center. We admit that this is entirely our problem because we booked night before and haven’t really checked the other offers. BUT, the tour (snorkeling part) started at 10:00 and finished at 11:00. This included snorkeling on first location for 15 minutes (crystal bay, which you can access by yourself with scooter with no problem) and second one for 5 minutes ( I forgot the name). The remaining time was the boat ride. Due to the bad weather we skipped the manta ray area which is ok from our side but they new about it before we started the trip and decide to charge us the full price anyway. The worst part is, that the Snorkeling program group visited the Manta ray area short after they left us on the pier to proceed with our land tour part. The land tour (2 destinations) was ok and our guide Madi is a cool guy but for the price we paid we are not nearly sattisfied. In the end it is not about the money, it is about the time that they took from us. This was our last day on Nusa Penida and we couldn’t stay any longer to give it a try with some other service. So long mantas, maybe next time!

Excellent service and great experience!

We booked the snorkeling tour last minute via whatsapp and the staff responded right away and was able to fit us in for the next morning tour. Very easy to communicate and they were super accommodating. We started around 9:30am and stopped in 5 places, all of which we really enjoyed and got to see mantas, turtles and different fish thanks to our experienced and fun tour guide Made. We ended at 12:30pm and had lunch, which was included in the package. That was the only part we would not recommend as Nusa Penida is still developing and you can find safer and better options.

Recommend

We start morning with Manta Point and then,Giants Manta that so AMAZING!, althought wave a bit hight and water a bit cold. Wayan and his team, Always pay attention to use that make us feel save. Equipment is news and perfectly fit no damage. Good tranfer for Nusa Ceningan. Lunch is so delicious.In evening we go by New Avansa to Angel Billabong, Broken Beach and Keling King Beach. Sawadee always advice and helps to take good photo and my trip are finished on-time. Every Staff are friendly. Thank you for good Memory. I hope to go back.

Absolutely amazing! 10/10!

This is the first time me and my partner have visited Bali and it’s well known that you have to visit Nusa Penida during your stay! After seeing the fabulous reviews I didn’t even hesitate to book! Angus, our tour guide, was amazing! Constantly informing you about the history of the island and doing everything in his power to ensure you’re enjoying your trip- he also has an awesome sense of humour! Perfect day with the perfect tour guide! Thank you!!!

We saw Manta Rays!

Need I say more? We saw Manta Rays and that was an absolute highlight of our stay at Nusa Penida. All is taken care of very well. The equipment was the best I’ve used in a long time, the staff was very patient and helpful. And even though there were very high waves when going to the Manta Ray spot I have always felt safe. The other spots were very nice as well. If I would go back to Nusa Penida, I would definitely book another trip with this organisation!

Awesome Snorkeling!

We did the snorkeling tour and it was amazing! All the staff of DNP is very friendly and professional, our boat was one of the best I’ve seen during the tour and the equipment was perfect. We swimmed in 5 different spot, we saw the mantas, corals, amazing fishes and even a sea turtle! (we were pretty lucky!) First 2 spot (manta bay and crystal bay) we were with people from the manta mix tour, then we were just the 2 of us on the boat for the rest of the snorkelong tour! Our guide was Made, really nice and funny guy! We felt safe and relaxed swimminh with him, he gave us advice on the best spot and helped us everytime we needed. Good kid! I definitely advise to go with Discover Nusa Penida for a tour, everything was perfect and the price is super!

Nusa Penida South Tour

We loved this tour and especially our tour guide, Agus (sorry have most definitely spelt that wrong) - super accommodating, friendly and happy. We had the best day tour of Nusa Penida and learnt a lot from Agus. Very glad we did the tour instead of trying to do it ourselves on a scooter (usually we would ride everywhere ourselves) - the roads are very broken and bumpy and we saw a few tourists have scooter accidents on the day we went. Makes t so much easier to have it all mapped out, so you can see all the places you want to see, and have that culture and knowledge behind all these beautiful spots. Would highly recommend!

Manta Mix tour is the best of both! Excellent guides!

We did the Manta Mix Tour - snorkeling in the morning and then a driving tour around the island. A driver picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the "marina" where the boats left for Nusa Penida. (Just a tip: if you want to use the lav, it costs a few cents in local currency so it is helpful to have a bit of local currency on this trip). The ride out to the island was uneventful, and upon arrival were driven to a small shop to get fitted for snorkeling equipment prior to getting on the boat. We were able to swim with a manta ray before snorkeling in the cove with the coral reefs. Wayan actually helped out by diving a bit deeper with my go pro for a better shot of the manta, as I am not a strong diver. August was our guide for the afternoon, and he was fantastic! Very cheerful and personable, and a wealth of knowledge about Bali and Nusa Penida. We visited Angels Billabong, Kelingking Beach, and broken beach - all are must-sees!! August showed us each at the optimal angle for pictures and also took lots of pictures for us. The scenery on this island is incredible, and the locals' love and pride for their island is apparent. We are so happy that we took a day to visit! The roads are very narrow on the island and although I am not a skittish driver at all, I was happy that we were with a driver who was familiar with the roads and not on rented scooters! Lunch was served at a small restaurant on the island, where we were able to shower off the salt water and change prior to our driving tour of the island. August also helped me communicate my food allergies to the restaurant staff, and I was able to eat lunch with no ill consequences.

The best guides

We did the snorkeling morning (swam with manta ray and Nemo, the fish) and then a drive tour around the island and it was just the best experience. The guide, Madi was very friendly and did everything we asked him, he took us to see the best views and even took me from the hand to be closer to the manta while swimming, as I’m not a big swimmer. Wayan, the owner was very helpful and careful with us to make our experience the best one, and it was. we highly recommend the Discover Nusa Penida, we had such an amazing experience, can’t wait to go back, Nusa definitely got our hearts 😍

Manta mix tour

I had a fantastic day with Wayan and the others at this wonderful company. The manta mix tour was the perfect blend of snorkelling (manta rays and turtles!) with a guide to help you find all the best spots and a scenic trip to the best sights on this amazing, natural island. Discover Nusa Penida is DEFINITELY the company to book with as they will guarantee you a great experience and go the extra mile to help you out with arranging the practicalities of getting there (something I wouldn’t have been able to do without Wayan’s help on WhatsApp). Enjoyable day trip !

Many thanks to Restu for taking us around the Southern end of Nusa Penida over the weekend ! We covered a couple of the must see spots like Angel Billabong, Broken Beach, Kelingking Beach & Crystal Bay in just a couple of hours as we set off from Sanur pier (abt 45 min duration) at 8am and got back before 1630. The roads at Nusa Penida can be quite bad with many pot holes but thank goodness we had a skillful driver who could navigate his way through quite easily. Our day trip didn't feel like a rush as we even managed a good lunch at Warung NG and spent some time chilling by the beach. Nusa Penida is such a hidden paradise fillled with many natural wonders and I'd love to come back again to explore other areas of the island!

Nearly guaranteed see manta rays, fantastic tour!

We booked the snorkelling tour and it was amazing, highly recommend! We were picked up at 630AM at our hotel in Seminyak by the driver and arrived at Sanur port at around 7AM. Then we took the 8AM fast boat to Nusa Penida and arrived at 845AM where we were met by our tour guide Wayan, whom I've been whatsapping regarding the organisation of the tour. Wayan is a very professional guide and I cannot recommend this tour more enough. He really cares about us getting a good experience and avoided spots that were over crowded with other tours as he knows the manta rays won't go there. He brought us to see the manta rays and we saw so many of them! All of the snorkelling spots he brought us to were very good, we saw really nice corals and fishes and manta rays and nemos! He is also a fantastic gopro photographer/videographer so he took some really nice photos and videos on my gopro of me and my friends. We then finished the snorkelling at around 12PM and arrived at our lunch place at around 12:45PM. Then took the 2:15PM boat back to Sanur and arrived at hotel at around 4PM.
