BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!! Makis and Elias were absolutely fantastic! My husband and I came to Greece for our honeymoon and we did a lot of different excursions, but this one by far was the best thing we booked! We went fishing, got told about the history of Santorini, Elias gave us multiple photo shoots, we got to snorkel in a private cove by the volcano, Makis cooked the grouper we caught for lunch along with tomato balls, Greek salad, tzatziki, and garlic bread! They are both so knowledgeable and Makis grew up here in Santorini practically living his whole life on the water! I am so excited to have had this experience and definitely recommend booking for your trip to Santorini!!

Amazing Vibe - must go on this trip

Captains Mikas and Elias were amazing. The boat was so clean and they were very gracious hosts ensuring we enjoyed ourselves. Could not imagine a better way to spend the day in Santorini. We were lucky with catching a 100 lb yellow fin tuna that captain grilled for lunch as well as making fresh ceviche with the tuna. Elias knowledge of history and the formation of the islands was very impressive. Captain Mikas is at home on the sea and his experience and attention to detail is an evident.

Highlight of our trip

Had the most amazing day on the water off of Santorini. Captain Makis and Elias made sure every need of our family was catered to - from an incredible history of some of the areas around Santorini to an AMAZING meal cooked right on the boat - we had the best time and would absolutely do this again. The communication in advance of the trip was fantastic as well. And as a family who likes to fish, we know that does not always mean “catch” but to catch grouper and have it cooked right there while we snorkeled was priceless. Amazing way to spend a few hours on the water and see Santorini from a different viewpoint.

Great trip and fantastic fishing experience

This was an amazing experience. The captain, Mike was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the sea surrounding Santorini! He took us to volcanic formations that were amazing sights and provided us with picturesque memories! The first mate, Elías, was friendly and knowledgeable about the sea and Santorini. The tale of the Hermit was fascinating. We caught Grouper and Mike and Elias barbecued our grouper and served us a delicious dinner on board. Our fresh grouper, Greek salad, fresh bread and tomato fritters ( made by Mike). They make a wonderful team! My husband loves fishing and they were all able to share their knowledge of fishing. Mike owns the boat ( which is fabulous). The trip is private, not commercial. This will always be the highlight of our trip to Santorini!

Best Experience in Santorini!

If you can do only one thing in Santorini this tour would be it! Captain Mikas and Elias are incredible. They know the sea and Santorini as only a local can know. We caught incredible fish which Mikas and Elias cooked for us on the boat making a Bonita ceviche (which we caught) and grilled grouper (which we caught), Greek salad and the most incredible tomato cakes. It doesn’t get any fresher than that. Also the boat is new, extremely clean, organized, and spacious. The whole experience is a class act that will not soon be forgotten

We had the most incredible time yesterday with Captain Matkis and his crew!! We booked the 5hr fishing charter at sunset, and it was absolutely incredible. We learned so much about the local area and saw the most incredible views. They quickly caught on that my fiance is obsessed with fishing, and taught him about their methods and the places the Captain has been. The boat was brand new, clean, and so comfortable! We ended up catching a large grouper which was cleaned and grilled for us while we swam in this secluded little cove. We were given dinner with some of the Captain's amazing family specialties (fritters, meatballs, salad) and the white wine was abundant throughout! We WISH we had charters like this in the US! I cannot say enough good things about these amazing people!

Fishing and Sunset Cruise

Amazing boat trip with the two kindest men! My husband caught a grouper and the captain, Makis, grilled it on the boat for our dinner! Also served us several other delicious Greek foods. His mate, Ilias, was so kind and full of knowledge about Santorini. We had the best time! Highly recommend!

Perfect afternoon!

What an incredible trip and perfect way to spend our afternoon! Capt. Makis and his first mate Illias are true professionals! They made us feel very welcomed and comfortable before we even stepped foot on his beautiful boat. Fish were caught and lunch was prepared incredibly! Best Trip Ever

Elias and Makis were phenomenal. The whole trip from start to finish was amazing. They were very friendly, gave us great history on the islands, took us to a wonderful spot to snorkel where we saw sunken ships, eels and fish. We caught a blue fin tuna and had THE BEST meal ever which included ceviche made from the tuna. Watched the sunset and had the best time ever. Would recommend them to anyone and would book again if we are in Santorini.

Great time on the Pirate Fishing & Boat Tour

Thanks to Mikis and Elias who provided us a wonderful experience on this boat tour. Mikis is a real EXPERT, he has been a fisherman since age 13. Most of his life is spent at the sea. He knows everything about fishing and the boat. We caught a good size grouper, but the fish was hidden behind the rocks deep down. What happened was Mikis wanted to let me experience the fun, so after the fish bit the bait, I did not retrieve the line fast enough and the fish went hiding. Mikis made a deep free dive to get the fish for us so we can have a delicious fresh fish BBQ. The tour also took us around to see the scenic volcanic geology around caldera, with many beautiful views of Santorini, especially Oia. Elias speaks English well and guided us with explanation of the areas during the boat tour. They are a great duo to make our tour more fun. The boat is brand new. We highly recommend this private tour.

Highlight of our trip!

Absolutely loved this trip! The crew was amazing! More than just a fishing trip, we got a history lesson and learned old stories from the locals themselves. Beautiful views and captured the most beautiful pictures. Caught a few fish and even got to cook it right on the boat for lunch. 10/10 would recommend to anyone traveling to Santorini!

Our experience was excellent. Captain Mike and First Mate Elia are consummate hosts. They filled us with knowledge of the history and geology of the Caldera. They put us on fish, from which they prepared a very fine meal. In all, a perfect day on the water.

Once in a lifetime

If you’re traveling to Santorini and don’t go on this tour, you’re definitely missing out. I’m so thankful I found their tour. This was an unreal experience that we'll never forget. I could go on and on about this trip. The Captain Makis and llias were incredibly genuine people that shared so many stories and similarities with us. The captain made homemade dishes for us, grilled the grouper and the mackeral was made into the best ceviche, maybe even the best meal, we've ever had. We're so grateful to have been with them on the boat. It's hard to describe in words just how amazing this was. The boat itself was one-of-a-kind too. I hope to come back again one day and see them again.

Santorini Fishing Tour

The guides were amazing! They made this trip so much more than fishing. We did manage to snag a grouper! It was a bit cold and windy and they made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Lots of great drink and stories about the island. It’s a great mix of fishing and a tour by boat of the island. The BBQ was perfect, the captain is a hell of a cook and was one of our favorite meals during our stay. They know how to bring great energy and we were jamming music and having a blast. We also got to post up at a prime spot to watch the infamous Oia sunset before heading it. I’d absolutely recommend this excursion to anyone! Great team!

Unforgettable Fishing and Cruising in the Caldera

We stayed on Santorini several days and had a few activities planned. This was definitely a highlight. Our hotel (Anastassis Apartments) actually booked this for us. Mikes and Elias were amazing guides and hosts. They provided transportation to and from our hotel which took the worry away of how to get there, timing and parking. The boat is gorgeous and immaculate. We had so much fun cruising, snorkeling and swimming and I caught a barracuda! They provide everything. They prepared us a fabulous meal doing a Greek barbecue. Then we made our way back to Ammoudi Bay and watched the sunset. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

An unreal day fishing

I went on a tour with the these guys and it was such an amazing day! Everything was perfect, with the combination of history knowledge, local fishing experience, chef quality food and two legends it was hard to not have the best day of my whole Greece trip. Later that day I cooked up some of the tuna that had been filleted seconds from being caught when we where out, it was some of the best fish I’ve ever cooked. Literally cannot recommend them enough, get on it!! Thanks again boys! 👌

Best day in Santorini

The trip was amazing, Elias & Captain Makis made us feel comfortable and were both fantastic throughout the trip. The views from the boat are something else, dreamy. We caught two fish, both Sea Bream which my partner was able to reel in both. The food was so tasty homemade & traditional. The ceviche was unbelievable. We were able to snorkel in a cove, so we were able to see the ship wrecks underneath and lots of fishes! Would recommend this trip to anyone. Highlight of Santorini

Highlight of our Santorini trip! Elias and Mikis were fun and knowledgable. The food was delicious. Our family (kids ages 11,11,13) had a fantastic time.

Perfect day

Our group of 10 people, family and close friends went out with Capt. Mikis and first mate Elias for a morning 5 hour cruise. We wanted to go to areas that the normal tours don’t go and the Captain delivered. Both Mikis and Elias were very easy to talk with and very informative about the area. The Captain has lived in this area his entire life. They set up some poles and trolled while we toured to catch our lunch and were successful. Mikis cooked us a meal right on the boat with some of the food prepared priority from his own family garden. It was phenomenal. He took us so close to areas you could touch with your hands. We stopped for some swim and snorkeling. If you’re a snorkel enthusiast don’t expect to see a ton but we did get to see a couple sunken boats in this crystal clear water. It was an awesome day on the water and boat. We did a private tour the day prior which was good as well but Captain Mikis delivered on his promise of a unique experience. I highly recommend The Pirate as choice you won’t be disappointed with.

Great Tour, Fishing & Guides

All that we hoped a fishing charter in beautiful Santorini would be! Makis & Ilias (sorry about spelling) are an incredible pair - Captain Makis finds the fish and navigating the Islands, reefs and coves while Ilias gives us an incredible history lesson on all things Santorini. We were lucky enough to catch a few fish and then the crew cooked them on the boat with an incredible homemade lunch. Captain Makis’ boat is beautiful and very comfortable. The time flew bye and I definitely recommend booking with Pirate tours.

Highlight of our Honeymoon!

During our 3 week honeymoon, this was the highlight! The secluded snorkeling, catching some Bluefin Tuna, and the amazing dinner on board was all so incredible. Do not hesitate to book this. The crew, the new boat, the drinks...they won't let you down!

Magical afternoon on the water.

Magical afternoon on the water. We went swimming in a hot spring, snorkeling in the bluest of waters, and learned a lot about Santorini and its neighboring islands. Captain Mikee and Hlias (spelling?!) cooked us a delicious meal made with the freshest ingredients—even tomato fritters made from delicious cherry tomatoes from a local farm. By far our best day in Santorini.

Fresh caught fish / great boating and snorkeling day

We had an amazing, memorable day. Micas and Elias could not have been a better team. The small fishing boat allowed us to get up close to rock formations and into small bays. The boat had great canopy/sun protection while we learned about the island, the volcano, and sea. We swam and snorkeled in crystal clear lagoons and took in amazing views. We caught a yellow fin tuna and barracuda . The lunch was delicious. Freshest tuna ceviche ever. Yummy tomato fritters/ salad / meatballs and drinks. This was a great experience.

Perfect Fishing Charter/ A Must for Families

This is a fabulous charter and made our trip to Greece extra special. We caught huge fish, had a perfect lunch with fresh vegetables from the captain’s garden and the fish caught, saw the coast, and swam. We snorkeled and loved swimming. Amazing Experience!

What can we say except that this charter was amazing! Captain Mike and Maik were not only knowledgeable and experienced but extremely kind and hospitable. They managed to turn a great vacation into an unforgettable one as well. My husband and sons' snorkeled, fished and swam in places that seem to be right out of a fairy tale. To top off a magnificent day, Captain Mike and Maik were gracious enough to cook the fish that were caught and prepare a full blown meal which rivals many 5 star experiences. Our sunset fishing tour with Captain Makis and Elias was easily one of the highlights of our 30-day tour in several European countries. Both Captain Makis and Elias are great people, and their tour is incomparable to the others Santorini has to offer because of their passion, knowledge, and experience. Elias knows an amazing amount of history about the islands, and Captain Makis has been a local fisherman and sailor of the island for 30+ years. Both guys were a blast to be around, and definitely book this tour for an unforgettable time in Santorini. We also caught a delicious grouper that the guys cooked up for us and we ate with Captain Makis’ homemade meatballs and tomato fritters. 10/10

Santorini is one of the best tourist destinations in Europe and the Pirate private fishing trip is by far the #1 experience we had in this beautiful island. Captain Makis and his first mate Elias went above and beyond to make this 5 hr tour absolutely special for our family. We came with our 15,13 and 11 year old kids and we all had an amazing time. Visited different islands , learned about history, geography, and geology , saw amazing Rock formations caught a fabulous Grouper that became part of an amazingly delicious meal prepared on the boat while we enjoyed snorkeling. Visited a private beach and snorkeled some more and enjoyed the beautiful blue Aegean Sea waters. Thank you so much for this amazing day. Your hospitality, friendliness and genuine concern for out safety, comfort and more than anything enjoyment was very appreciated. We can honestly say that we spent the day with the nicest , most knowledgeable and fun Greek men of the entire island. Exceeded all expectations!

This was the perfect excursion for our time in Santorini as part of a Royal Caribbean cruise. Stunning views, crystal clear water, bright blue skies, and tidbits of history. What more could you want?? Although the fishing poles were in the water most of the time, we only caught one small fish. However, the food prepared by the captain was phenomenal. My husband counts the tomato fritters as the best food he had during our entire vacation. Book now - you won't be disappointed.

Absolute highlight of the Santorini trip

Many people will tell you that you have to do something on the water while on the island and I would agree that is solid advice. This trip however exceeded all expectations and was far superior to the generic booze-cruise/sunset cruises offered by most operators. We fished (and caught dinner), we visited the hot springs, we swam in beautiful coves and saw a perfect sunset. Makis, the captain, and his partner Ilias, were fantastic hosts. The food was excellent, plenty of wine/beer/water and boat was the perfect size, very comfortable (with WC). Highly, highly, highly recommend to any visiting the island.

Do not miss this! Highlight of Santorini!

One of the highlights of our 3 week vacation to France and Greece. I booked this as a surprise birthday gift/celebration to my husband with my 2 kids who are 8 and 10. We did the sunset tour which was amazing! He likes to fish but this was so much more than fishing, We swam and snorkeled near a black sand beach with no one else nearby which was AMAZING! We went to another cove and saw tons of fish- again with no one else around. The home cooked meal of fresh Barracuda and home grown tomatoes was fabulous. They even brought a chocolate cake from a bakery for my husband. I can not recommend this tour enough! Thank you for the wonderful memories- huge shout out to Captain Makis and Elias.

Amazing experience, highly recommended!!

Our private sunset fishing tour with Captain Makis and Iliad was exceptional in every way. The experience is a lifetime for our group of 8. The captain’s boat was brand new and so comfortable and clean. He knew the waterways like the back of his hand, and Ilias provided an interesting historical lesson as we trawled for fish. The highlight was jumping from the boat into the calm, refreshing Mediterranean Sea. Until the next highlight which was the delicious homemade dinner served to us. Fishing and history lesson perfection

Coming from the west coast of the U.S. we were nervous about booking a fishing tour so far away. When we met the boys at the dock our nerves settled to excitement! We quickly caught our lunch and enjoyed the best history lesson of Santorini and it's culture. The boat is immaculate and the boys made sure we were always happy! I loved the Bill Withers's music. They are also the best cooks on the water.

Fantastic Charter!

We would give ten stars if possible. We had a fantastic trip with Captain Makis and first mate Ilias. Caught some fish and learned a lot about Santorini. Ilias is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Santorini and the neighboring islands and volcanoes. It was nice to have a private charter that brings you to private destinations. You get to see a lot of cool things that you would miss on a traditional group charter. The new boat is beautiful, and having a skilled captain puts you at ease. They also prepared the most amazing meal with fresh caught fish (that we caught), and food from Makis' garden. 10/10 would do it again.

Looking for the BEST family or friend trip with a lifetime of memories… keep reading! We went out with Captain Mike and Ilias in Santorini Greece on Pirate Fishing Tours, and had a wonderful time. We got a great history lesson on the geography, and the history of Santorini … even some Greek mythology thrown in. We caught some fish that were new to us, including grouper, barracuda and tuna. Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful day and amazing experience!!

Our family visited Greece for a week and we all decided this was absolutely our favorite tour! The captains made us feel welcome from the very start and were extremely accommodating the entire day on the water. We only had 2 days in Santorini but couldn’t imagine a better way to explore the island. Not to mention, the captains were a great team - Elias gave us detailed history of the island while Captain Mike put us on a grouper and an amberjack, and then they prepared us a fantastic barbecue to enjoy. Overall we had a beautiful day and amazing experience and we would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Santorini!
