Amazing Snorkeling Experience

This was an amazing snorkeling/boat tour. Our tour guide brought the sea to us, he showed us some spectacular sea creatures, he is an awesome diver, this is the best snorkeling experience ever. The staff was very friendly, kind, patient and helpful. They also offer lunch on the tour, our chef Diana was the best and prepared a delicious meal! So happy we went on this tour, we will definitely be back in the future.

beautiful time

We had a wonderful experience, a beautiful island! our little family loved it. the freshly cooked food was amazing. The island is so exotic and super touristy. snorkeling was nice and our captain was a super cool guy. A highlight of the trip to Costa Rica!

Magical adventure

My daughter and I were the only ones on the boat. We received great hospitality from our guide and cook. They surprised us with a stop to see the spider monkeys on our way to our snorkeling spot. Our guide, please excuse me for not recalling his name, was very attentive and told us about the animal life near Tortuga Island and the better snorkelling spots. He even managed to catch a puffer and star fish to show us up close. So much fun - lunch on the beach was delicious and the drinks were cold. Fun times.

Excellent tour, our guide...

Excellent tour, our guide was very kind and knowledgeable! The boat ride was pleasant and he made sure to point out things along the way - wildlife, history about the island, etc. We stopped at monkey island and saw at least 5 monkeys that came within a few feet of the boat! Snorkeling off the boat was easy and there were life jackets and floaties if needed. We saw a ton of colorful fish and various marine wildlife. Tortuga island beach had beautiful white sand and clear turquoise water which made it a wonderful place to relax and swim. There were chairs for rent, drinks for purchase, and a gift shop on the island if needed. We saw wild pigs and iguanas during our stop on the island which was cool. Lunch was delicious, I would definitely recommend the fish if you like seafood! Overall it was an incredible day excursion and our whole group had a great time.

Best tour of Tortuga Island, don't go to any other operators

This is an amazing day. Juan, the captain, is so knowledgeable about the local area and knows the tides so will guide you to the best snorkeling spots. We saw so many fish and had so much snorkeling time. We worked up a huge appetite and Diana's lunch did not disappoint. A delicious meal of freshly prepared vegetable skewers, rice and perfectly cooked tuna. Other tours companies on the island have large numbers, but with this tour you are guaranteed a smaller group and therefore a more personal experience.

Loved the experience!

Highly recommend this snorkelling adventure! We went as a family and arrived at the meet up spot a bit early and saw howler monkeys close up. The boat ride was smooth, and our guide Chato did a great job narrating the tour. Highlights included: monkey island, snorkelling and the lunch that they provided. The entire family loved it and felt very safe!

Perfect day trip

Would 100% recommend, such good value for money - the care and attention we received was second to none, everyone was so accommodating, knowledgeable and clearly loves what they do. We had drinks and snacks provided and lunch was delicious…the perfect trip, thank you.

A day of PURA VIDA!

What an amazing day. I really can’t say enough good things about Bahia Rica. Or tour guide, Juan, was an absolute wealth of information! Such a happy guy, and just made the day. We were lucky enough to have the boat to ourselves, a couple. We say rays, turtles, spider monkeys, pigs on Tortuga Island and just a ton of fish as we snorkelled in two locations. Had fresh scallops served boat side and then an amazing lunch cooked by the talented Carolina. The day was the definition of PURA VIDA!

The Best Isla Tortuga trip!

Fabulous experience! Being only 4 people - my wife and I plus another couple made it feel like a private boat tour. Our captain, Juan, spoke fluent English and gave us a great tour of the Gulf of Nicoya, making stops and pointing out picturesque beaches, rock formations and spider monkeys! He timed our snorkeling so that most of the other boats were gone, and we had it all to ourselves to enjoy the beautiful marine life in the clear turquoise water. Juan also showed us a few turtles swimming around. The lunch on the island in a private shaded area prepared by Carolina was delicious, healthy and filling, with yummy local dessert and coffee included. We ordered and enjoyed Coco Loco, which was refreshing and tasty. Excellent job of the whole team and the owners, 5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommend Bahia Rica!

Capitan Juan and his...

Capitan Juan and his assistants were outstanding guides and hosts. The boat tour and snorkeling session were outstanding and very informative. Lunch was delicious and we really enjoyed our visit. It was great to see turtles and watch the fishermen prepare and serve fresh shellfish to visitors.

Must Try Experience!

Such a fun day on the boat! Our tour guide was wonderful, and made sure to show us different islands and kept a look out for dolphins, sea turtles and whales. The lunch was amazing and Tortuga Island was beautiful. Would highly recommend definitely worth it!

Great experience!

Amazing experience. We stopped by an island full of monkeys before we reached our destination, and we also did snorkeling in two different locations. Our guide even jumped in the water and took a video of a small shark at the bottom.

We can't say enough about Juan, Mira, and the outfitter (Thomas). Easily one of the best things you can do in Costa Rica. Save yourself the ferry ride and drive through the amazing area of Paquera. Juan knew the best sites & sights in the area. Ceviche, Mahi lunch, great views, great snorkel stops, and just an incredible day overall.

Snorkeling

Juan was a great guide. He was super accommodating for my mom who's an amputee. We got oysters and scallops fresh from the boat. the snorkeling and lunch were incredible. Highly recommend!

Best. Day. Ever!

This was one of our favourite experiences in Costa Rica. Our captain, Juan, gave us a lot of interesting information about the area on our way to snorkelling. He spotted humpback whales in the distance and managed to get us close enough to watch two adults and a young calf play. Snorkelling was great, even for the nine year olds on board. Juan even got in the water with us and showed those who were interested some white tip sharks that were resting in caves. The lunch on the beach was delicious and they took extra precautions to care for my daughter who has a severe nut allergy.

Great half-day tour - excellent service and guide!

We had a great time on a half-day tour with this company! They were recommended by the property manager at our rental home in Tambor. The owners were in communication quickly when I got in touch and answered all of my questions plus gave helpful info. We have two young children 8 & 5 and they immediately provided life jackets for them before boarding and had snorkel equipment for them on the boat. The guide Juan was basically a local expert; he was friendly and fun. He even took the guys to a special spot to see sharks and guided them down personally! It was unforgettable for my husband and friend and generally a wonderful tour for all of us! Highly recommended for an area activity.

Honest Review

I did the Bioluminescence tour as well and both were amazing, my friends and I had an amazing time. The tour guides were really funny and explained everything very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Wonderful

Wonderful trip!! We got to see monkeys, dolphins and many more beautiful fish while snorkeling! The food was amazing when we had lunch on the island and just a great place to hang out

A Great Experience!!!

Beautiful excursion, Juan the guide is very professional and is passionate about his job. He is an open book of information all on his own. He left us first as the whole group diving with family or friends. Then, 2nd round waited for the other boats to move away and showed us his hidden spots. We saw turtles, starfish, baby sharks and etc...Atypical tasting of scallops and oysters from the local merchant. Well organized, hearty lunch. Free time, relaxation, swimming on the island of Tortuga. We hope to see him again next time for the bioluminescence excursion when we next come. Thanks again to the whole team.
