Excellent tour

Very good tour- the guide was excellent and told us a lot about the geysers, local history and culture, and we had lots of stops on the way back to get a closer look at wildlife. Breakfast was also excellent.

Top-notch experience

Alexander is competent and funny guide. He has answers on all questions and talked very interesting. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Perfect tour.

Unique Experience

The tour was amazing, the tour guides know all the good spots, everything was perfect. Mauricio and Andres were incredible, they have charisma and knowledge on everything in this tour. One of the best tours I've ever had.

Good way to see a lot of Atacama

I stayed in the Atacama desert for a few day trip. The whole area has so much to see and do. I enjoyed this tour because it checked off a lot of the boxes, of places I wanted to visit. The tour guide was quite good and the meal was wonderful.

Great guide

Great guide, lots of information, good breakfast and lunch! Mauricio was very knowledgeable about the locations visited, answered every questions, helped with taking pictures and eager to make out trip comfortable and enjoyable!

Wonderful and unique

This is a tour worth taking. The lagoons are picturesque. The guided, relaxed and informative walk at Piedras Rojas was so unique. Our guide Alex was great and was very good at taking pictures for all the people in the group. The breakfast was good and the lunch was huge. We had ample bathroom break stops and we met a lot of visitors from different parts of world which added to the experience. The only disappointing thing was that we returned back to SanPedro over an hour late because our guide was gracious and allowed a guest to wander off on a side hike and the person took advantage and was gone too long. This messed up some peoples’ plans for later that day. Unfortunately It put a damper on an otherwise wonderful day.

Good experience but poor drop off. I was not prepared for this

Everything about the trip was great the people, food, and views. The reason for the downgrade was the dropped us off in town not my hotel

Great Tour with great, surreal views

The whole experience was memorable. This tour was really something remarkable and our guide Alexander was great and very informative and helpful. The breakfast and lunch that they provide was delicious. I highly recommend this tour and it’s a great bank for your buck. You do have to pay the entrance fees to the parks so do carry enough cash with you to cover those fees.

Great time, great guides, amazing sites!

Tour guides were amazing and knowledgeable about the history and surroundings of the desert. The food provided was also fantastic and really helped energize for the day! The recommendation is 1.5 liters of water but if you are unused to altitude you may want to double that!

Great sites - but…

Amazing sites to see. Well worth the trip. Guide was knowledgeable. However I felt he could have brought us together more to explain what we were seeing. One on one he had a wealth of knowledge to share but in the group he kept to the very basics of what we were seeing. My biggest complaint was regarding one of the other guests who wasted the time of the group being self absorbed in selfies. Our tour was supposed to end at 4:30 but instead it ended at 6:00. And this was not because we saw additional sites. I feel the guide should have reigned the individual in. We had plans in the late afternoon which were missed. Clients can be difficult but we are ALL clients and the guide should have dealt with the individual.

Great experience

Super experience, the guide was great - very kind and going into details. The tour was great, we highly enjoyed all the stops - especially the flamingos!! Nice breakfast and lunch option as well (also for vegetarians!)

Must do

Really great day with a great company. I did three tours with them and they were extremely communicative and well-organized. I loved the way the pickup was clearly communicated over WhatsApp ahead of time. This tour is a must-do while in Atacama. Nicolas was a great guide.

Car troubles

Honestly a lovely and wonderful tour, Frank was very knowledgeable and Jordan was a great driver. The meals were also lovely and the views were spectacular. The car did break down at about 1 pm (before our last stop), and everyone had to hitchhike back into town. It was kind of the only solution considering the fact that we had no service to call for help, but it was unfortunate as the group had to split up and many had to wait up to 3 hours to even find a car willing to take them on the 2 hour drive back to the town of San Pedro. Honestly I had a great time though🦩🗻🏜️🦙

A great day

A fab day out with tour guide Nicolas. We saw lots and had a nice breakfast and lunch with the group.

Great tour in Atacama!

Enjoyable day

Enjoyable tour. Nice breakfast provided. Our guide Nicholas gave explanations and history of the different sites. Our only complaint is that our guide would be very insistent that we get out of the van quickly and to stick with him on the paths BUT he would race ahead until out of sight! It is not a good idea especially with tourists not used to 12000 ft of altitude. We understand a time table but a less aggressive attitude would be better.

Stunning day! 🦩

This tour was honestly phenomenal and I can’t recommend it enough! Packed in so many highlights and staggered so that you’re never driving for more than 45 min or so at a time, even though cumulatively there was quite a bit of driving. Saw altiplanic lagoons, Piedras Rojas, lagoona Chaxa (so many flamingos!! Highlight of the day). Our guide Catherine was super enthusiastic and helpful. Breakfast and lunch included. Lots of bathroom stops along the way.

Great organisation and great food

I did three separate trips with this company on my stay in SP. Each one was incredibly well organised, great comms on pick up times. Food stops were well thought out and delicious. The guides were all really friendly and able to accommodate multiple languages. There is a lot of driving and the driver do a great job felt very safe. They tell you wrap up warm for the geysers. Despite it being 30 degrees in the town it was COLD. So follow their advice.

Fantastic day trip

What a great day tour. First of all compliments to Nicolas. Love his energy and his enthusiasm. He feeds of the energy of others as well in a positive way. So the more happy people are around him, the more happy he becomes as well. The tour was a lot of driving, but it is understandable, seeing how remote some of the locations we visited are. But all of these locations are super pretty. Nicolas was able to explain everything in 3 languages and even had a book about all the animal types we could see throughout the day. Also supplied are two tables (breakfast and lunch) filled with so much food you don't have to eat throughout the rest of the day.

Good way to see the sites

Beautiful scenery. Pick up logistics were very smooth, and the lunch was nice! I didn’t feel that I got a ton of information on the tour, but it was an easy way to get out of San Pedro and to see “must see,” incredible places in Atacama.

Gorgeous places but choose another company

We went to some absolutely gorgeous places. Our guide Rocio spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. However, our guide and driver rushed us so much that it very negatively impacted our enjoyment of the tour. Rocio would walk far ahead of the group and then start explaining things when only a third of the group was there. David was terrible about rushing us- I have traveled extensively but never been told I can only take one photo. He was unfriendly and constantly pushing us to hurry up. I know schedules need to be kept but the schedule needs to be changed to avoid this.

Great excursion!

We just went on this trip with Giulia & Rocio and we really enjoyed it. Giulia was very knowledgeable about each stop which was very helpful. And Rocio saved us many times by the very hungry goat at our lunch! Which was very funny. The breakfast and the lunch was the best I think we’d had on an excursion like this so thank you. We’d definitely book again!

Excellent tour of the Altaplanic lagoons

We both really enjoyed the trip . The landscape was beautiful and we had enough time at each stop to take in the breathtaking scenery . The trip was exceptionally well organised and both our guide and driver were excellent . We highly recommend them .

A really nice day in the Atacama!

This was my second trip with Pukarumi. They did a great job. The tour was well managed and we saw flamingos and vicuñas aplenty. Our guide Giuli was very engaged and shared time with all of us and there were people from Italy, UK, USA and Brazil. I learned a great deal about the area from Giuli. Our driver Jordan was a very good driver, no issues at all in the transit.

A really good experience

We booked the 3 day package with 4 tours. All were excellent. The weather changed and caused some schedule changes but Pukarumi communicated all changes very clearly and worked hard to make sure we got to do everything in our limited time. The guides were lovely; friendly, kind and well informed. The drivers were safety conscious and the buses in good condition. We experienced breakfast, lunch and cocktail and snacks and all the food was lovely. We were impressed with the standard of service all round and would recommend this company.

The day trip is very well organized. You visit many interesting places and take breaks with delicious breakfast and lunch. Rodolfo, the guide, was attentive, gave excellent information and accompanied us through the day in a good mood. The tour is highly recommended.

A day of amazing landscapes

Wow! What an amazing day! Such a well organised, interesting & varied day. The landscapes we saw were AMAZING. Volcanoes, lagoons, animals, flamingos etc etc. Julia our tour guide speaks several languages and took care to explain everything to us all in our own language & she answered all our questions. If you do this you will have such an informative & fun day & also a really tasty lunch. I would definitely recommend this for anyone. You will come away feeling totally nourished from the landscapes & nature you’ve seen, the people you’ve met & the memories you’ve made. And with some amazing photos.

Fantastic Experience

Fantastic tour! The breakfast and lunch are delicious and very accommodating to allergies. The tour itself is stunning and well worth a full day to see. I had the guide Nicolas and let me tell you, he's truly amazing. Nicolas was so fun, kind, and knowledgable. I wish I could have him lead every tour!

Amazing lagoons and experience

Everything was well organized from the tour operator. The guide provided a lot of details and info, in spanish and english as well. No words for the visited places, they were amazing, pictures can't be enough to show the beauties of this desert

Amazing sceneries

Tour organized by Pukarumi Travel in San Pedro de Atacama. We were picked up at our hostels, then we moved to Chaxa Lagoon, then Piedras Rojas and Salar de Aguas Calientes, finally Laganàs Altiplanicas. Our guide Franco was very kind and good at English and he explained us a lot about history of atacama desert but also about flora and fauna that live there. We had a delicious breakfast and lunch in the wild. Absolutely recommended

Amazing views

The guide Guilia was really good at making sure everyone is feeling okay despite the altitude and making sure you are comfortable. The tour itself was well scheduled, giving you adequate time to cover each location and do phototaking. Definitely a must do tour when in Atacama. The Laguna Chaxa was my favourite

Great day out

Great day out, primarily because of the guide Nicolas and the driver Julio whose enthusiasm is contagious. Great close up experience with the flamingos and beautiful scenery. The big suprise was the catering which was superb and really substantial.

Sights and wild animals

Very well organized and communicated. Prefect because it lasts a bit less then 8 hours and doesn't leave you exhausted. Delicious breakfast and lunch served outdoors with great sights, however, there were annoying winds and a bit of sand flying around and spoiled a bit our lunch. Sights on this tour are amazing and we saw numerous different types of animals in the wild (and I don't want to spoil the surprise for you by listing them here).

100% must do tour in Atacama!

Can't recommend this tour highly enough. Picked up from our hotel in good time and with their live location so you aren't waiting for ages. Headed to the Laguna Chaxa first whilst it was empty- a serene silent lake with the flamingoes and no groups of tourists, it was breathtaking. Had breakfast at the topic of Capricorn which was a great spread! The piedras rojas is insane, words can't describe. The lakes were beautiful. The guide was knowledgeable and did a good job of translating Spanish, Portuguese and English. Lunch was good too and we were back in town at 4pm

Super touristic but beautiful

Great food , beautiful places, but it’s super theistic and you will spend much time in the van. It’s like instagram trip to make stops to make picture and queue.

Great tour, excellent agency!

We had an excellent tour of Chaxa Lake, Piedras Rojas, and the Altiplanic lagoons in July 2024. It's a full-day tour, and while some reviews mention it felt a bit rushed, it is a fantastic opportunity to see these stunning sites in a single day. I have taken other tours with PukaRumi while in Sand Pedro de Atacama and have been consistently amazed by the quality of their service. Their vehicles are newer and better maintained than those of other agencies. The food is delicious, and they use real containers, plates, and glasses, which means no waste :) Nicolas was our guide, and he took excellent care of the group. He is upbeat, welcoming, and made us feel very comfortable. His passion for Chile and his job as a guide is evident, making our experience even more enjoyable. We had an excellent day and highly recommend this tour and the agency.

Wonderful experience in the Atacama desert.

The trip was so amazing, I enjoyed it. It was well organised and the food was especially tasty. The guide and the driver was very friendly. I was the only one who could not speak spanish, but the guide explained everything to me in English, she was very friendly. I hope I can come back soon with my girlfriend.

Well worth your time and money

Probably one of the best full day tours. Our guide Nicolas was a perfect combination of boundless energy and professionalism all day. This tour takes you to some of the breathtaking vistas in Atacama desert. Nicolas sprinkled just enough science and history to give context to what we saw but did not turn the tour into a school tour. We happened to have a challenging day with high winds (+50 kph) and below freezing temperatures. Our guide handled the situation very well adjusting how long we stayed at each location, even lending his overcoat to one of our fellow group members. He also kept reminding to hydrate and behave ourselves in high altitude If you have a chance ask for Nicolas as for your guide. You'll not regret it. Now some practical matters: This tour takes you to 4200 meters of altitude. If you have multiple days in Atacama do not do this on your first day. 4000+ meters is not a joke and you spend considerable time at above 4000 m during this tour. Flamingo park is great for impressive photos. Pukarumi tends to arrive earlier than other tours giving you a better chance at taking pristine salt flat and Flamingo photos. Also learning about different species of flamingo that inhabit Chile is nice. Piedras Rojas will be another great sightseeing bonanza. The salt flat with the volcano in the background is just going to make you take dozens of photos. Compared to the previous two, the altiplanic lagoons are perhaps less impressive but still well worth to complete the program. And the breakfast and lunch served during this tour is more than just an afterthought. Be prepared to be fed properly with well made food using local ingredients.

Mindblowingly beautiful!

We had such a memorable day on this tour! Our guide Giuli was super friendly, approachable, and had an impressive amount of knowledge of the surrounding environment and the animals that inhabit it. We learnt a lot from her! The areas we visited were mindblowingly beautiful and we were given plenty of time to explore and soak it all in. Transport to and from was punctual, comfortable and safe. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Pedro. Truly a must-do! You won’t regret it!

Gorgeous! Packed day, great food

Gorgeous! Must-do trip from San Pedro. Very complete -- we did a lot in the day. Felt a little rushed by the guide at points, but again, it was a very complete day. Guide was great in recounting history, geography, and geology, but didn't know as much about birds. Breakfast was good, and lunch was terrific, genuinely really good (for us vegetarians). Communicative through whatsapp. Great trip!

This was a fantastic day. The bus was punctual in picking me up at my hotel in town. LoLo our guide was so full of energy. She made us feel like family. The stops were stunning and she was very informative about the area and so helpful. There was a nice family with 2 small daughters and LoLo kept them entertained. An Unmissable Experience

An excellent tour of three beautiful (and incredibly photogenic) locations. My guide, Giuli, was fun and engaging at all times, and she effortlessly switched between English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Nobody in our group felt left out, and she was more than obliging when helping me get the best photos!
