This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was Steve Bush Jr. Steve was a fantastic tour guide and we highly recommend him. He took us wherever we wanted to go and he had excellent recommendations for restaurants etc. We'd definitely do this tour again!!

Pick Patrick for a fab time!

We had an amazing time with Patrick! Every single moment from port pickup to dropoff was perfect. We were a group of 4 adults & 4 kids and we snorkelled for several hours. Patrick found clear waters for us and showed us some beautiful parts of the reef. We also stopped at the dolphin sanctuary and kids enjoyed speeding through the waves. We then washed off and had a yummy lunch with drinks at his family restaurant, where they welcomed us like family. And then it was back to board our cruise shop, with some fun stops along the way, like getting local bread and cookies. I highly recommend working with Patrick if you want a truly special experience with a cool local!

We had a wonderful day with Suzeth. She recommended lunch at a restaurant on the beach which had amazing fish tacos and we got to detour to a few stops we wanted to make along the way. I highly recommend and even the most hard to please members felt it was well with the $$.

This was my third time going to Roatan on a cruise, but my first time with a personal guide/driver. I highly suggest you go with a personal driver! The cruise line treats you like cattle and you waste SO much time standing in lines to transport everyone. You can’t stop anywhere extra when you book through the cruise lines and it’s so much better to get advice from the locals! We had Jr. Frazer as our driver and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He was waiting for us when we got off the ship and we drove around in a nice comfortable car. We got his honest advice of the best places to go. We went to see some monkeys and sloths and I sadly didn’t get my picture taken with the monkey with all the people that were there. I let him know I was bummed out about it and he talked to the guys that worked there and made sure I got my picture! He told us all about the island and the different things we should try while we were there. We made a pit stop so we could try some local beer. We also stopped at the rum distillery so we could purchase the delicious rum. He took us to a beautiful beach where my husband could snorkel. Our belongings were safe in his car so no worries there. He recommended a GREAT place for lunch! I can not recommend this guy enough! When we go back I hope he is still there :)

Wonderful time in Roatan

We spent a half day in Roatan, visiting the sloth adventure and the zip line and had a great time. We travelled with twelve grandchildren aged 7-15, and everyone had a wonderful time. The only unfortunate thing was having to wait an hour to get on the zip line, but at the end of the day we all had a great time.

A wonderful trip around Roatan

George was a great host! It was nice to travel around Roatan, see the iguanas, sloths, and monkeys and also had just the right amount of time to stop for a few souvenirs.

George was fantastic. Brought us to all of the places that we asked. He knows everyone at the sites and got us to the front of the line at all places- chocolate factory, sloths/ monkeys, beach resort.

Better than a cruise excursion

What a great opportunity to see Roatan from a local perspective. We drove tothe east side and then did a mangrove boat tour. Our guide George was excellent. Thanks for the great experience.

A++ Roatan Guide - Personable and Accommodating!

This tour exceeded our expectations! Junior was our guide and brought his A game. Company provided clear instructions with photos on how to find the guide from the cruise port. We found our guide easily despite a lot of people. He quickly guided us to his car parked a short walk away. He was welcoming and friendly. We only had a general idea of how we wanted to spend our day and he listened to what we were looking for and offered suggestions. He knew entry prices to the various options. He called ahead to Mayan Eden to make sure they not only had monkeys and sloths but also butterflies as one family member wanted to see butterflies. I’m usually someone who reads a lot of reviews before choosing a place to visit so I was a little nervous about going to this animal encounter without knowing anything about it. It was perfect! They took us in a small group to all the animal exhibits and made sure each person had an opportunity for a photo op. Toucans were a bonus surprise for us! After the animals, we told Junior we wanted to find some water to buy and he took us to a nearby supermarket. Junior then inquired what we’d like to do next and offered some suggestions. We decided on the glass bottom boat tour to see the coral reef and sea life. Again he called ahead and booked us a time over the phone and told us the price. When we arrived, he communicated with the staff and made sure we were taken care of. Along the way, he told us about the island of Roatan and shared what his experience has been living there. He was engaging and entertaining. He recommended a place for lunch. I asked about the chocolate “tour” I had read about online. He told us it wasn’t a chocolate tour, mostly just a place to buy chocolate - appreciated knowing this in advance so we could adjust our expectations. We thought it was enjoyable to visit and my husband and daughter loved the cold milkshake like drink they sold. He gave his honest opinion on which places were worthwhile to see. Junior made our day special and we are thankful to have had his services for the day, including the air conditioning in his car. Highly recommend!!

Best of roatan

Our driver/guide was Junior. He was great. Very professional and friendly. Took us everywhere we wanted to go and suggested other places which were even better. Since this was not our first time in Roatán, we did not want to do a lot of the normal touristy stuff. We learned a lot about the island and culture that we did not know. Junior stayed with us the whole time, making sure we were taken care of and safe. We got back to the ship in plenty of time to do some shopping at the port. Communication before and during the tour was great. And, yes, if you say you are with Steve Bush, everyone shows you where to go and is very helpful! And the prices were the best. Can’t beat it. Definitely recommend.

Amazing and effortless

Johnathan was our driver and he was fantastic! Even though we had a general plan of what we wanted to do and see, he provided valuable information about the island that made our choices that much easier! And organizing this adventure was super easy with the help of Mr. Bush using Whatsapp. Great communicator and easy to talk to.

An excellent day in Roatan

Building our own tour was the best idea! It was just my husband and me and our guide Lucas and it was a pleasure hearing about life on Roatan and the cultural differences between the island and Honduras. We chose to go to the wildlife refuge so I could hold a sloth and see the monkeys and we also stopped at the rum and chocolate shops. We grabbed lunch at roadside stand and enjoyed the best meal we’d had so far! Thank you, Lucas, for a fabulous day!

Excellent trip

We were picked up from right outside the cruise terminal. Everything was easy and we quickly found our driver. All day he was very knowledgeable and drove us safely around the island to our designated destinations. He was very helpful all the time. We asked to be taken to West Bay beach. Unfortunately we were driven to a beach club where the driven had some agreement. The beach club was not nice. Make sure to specify where you want to go. Even the beach.

Amazing Roatan Private Tour

They provided an amazing private tour of the island. Visited a petting zoo, chocolate and rum factories. The tour guide was amazing and we got to shop at local vendors. Definitely would recommend using them for any tours.

Perfect day with Kenson

Kenson, our guide and driver, was THE BEST! We visited the animals and were able to interact/hold the macaw, sloths, and monkeys with Eddie (who was also great!). Chocolate factory and rum stops and then to a beautiful beach to snorkel. Kenson was very knowledgeable, polite, and personable!!! BEST EXPERIENCE OF OUR TRIP!!!!

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience that Junior Frazer provided our family while we were in port for the day! We designed a tour that would accommodate the 2 80-year olds in our group and Junior delivered! By requesting a stop at the cameo factory (one of only 10 in the world and the only one in the Americas - you MUST go!), we also provided Junior with a new experience. 😊 We traveled the island to get a feel for the economy, the culture, the politics, the tourism, the food, the lifestyle and more…. It was fascinating. We had opportunities throughout the day to experience Roatan, to snorkel at a beautiful resort (don’t miss snorkeling!), take pictures and to have a great experience with local cuisine……the fresh RED SNAPPER…..heavenly. Junior even suggested a local beer for my husband and my umbrella drink 🍹 was divine. This was, by far, the best experience of our 8-day cruise and we will always fondly remember Roatan as a result. I highly recommend Roatan Trips & Tours……and Junior Frazer can’t be beat! 😊

Disappointing Experience - Make it Up Tour with Roatan Trips & Tours

I recently booked the "Make it Up Tour" with Roatan Trips & Tours for a group of 20 people, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. While our tour guide, Mary, was professional and humorous, several aspects of the trip fell short of our expectations. Firstly, the transportation provided could only accommodate 17 people, despite our booking for 20. Due to illness, we were only 18 people, yet one child had to sit on an adult's lap. This oversight, along with a no-refund policy for sickness, was disappointing. Moreover, the lack of bottled water was a significant issue. Although the tour description assured us that water was included, we were informed otherwise by Mary. After a discussion and a call to the boss, a stop at a gas station was made for water. However, only adults received water, leaving two paid children without any. Despite assurances from the boss, additional water for the kids never materialized. The pricing structure of the tour was unclear and seemed arbitrary. Children, even as young as six, were charged the same as adults, and the tour lacked transparency regarding the actual costs paid. The promised "light refreshments" turned out to be just a fruit punch during the snorkeling trip, which was separate from the booked tour. Two members of our group who opted out of snorkeling were denied access to the fruit punch, which seemed unreasonable. Safety was also a concern during the snorkeling portion. The boat, labeled with a 15-passenger capacity, accommodated 18 people. Insufficient life jackets and fins were provided, raising doubts about the adherence to safety regulations. In summary, while Mary's guiding skills were commendable, the overall experience with Roatan Trips & Tours was marred by logistical issues, pricing ambiguity, and safety concerns. It is my hope that these issues are addressed to improve the quality of service for future customers.

A great day on our own in Roatan

We were able to do everything we wanted in Roatan with our fun guide Araña. We wanted to avoid the crowded touristy things, and she took us to the local spots for fun and sun. She was also easy to find at the port. A super fun day, I would do it again!

Jorge our Driver was great!

Jorge with Roatan Trips and Tours was fantastic. We visited the monkey park, Gio’s restaurant (food was fantastic!), chocolate company, and West Bay. Jorge even gave us some island history while driving us. We loved every minute.

Hoping for Better

Did not start well. Was able to locate the person coordinating things with help of other island residents. Our driver was 30 minutes late and no good place to wait. Very hot & humid. The driver was polite and courteous. Comfortable vehicle. We requested to go to Gumbalimba Park, the chocolate factory, eat at a local restaurant where locals eat, visit a beach to snorkel (suggested 2 beaches for that), visit a local craft market, and a fruit stand. We visited a small market in a location where we could see the ship, then to Gumbalimba Park, only did the tour and left. May have liked the beach or the botanical gardens there. We went to the chocolate factory, then paid $15 Each to go to a beach and a place to eat for about 1.5 hrs. We had lunch which was not local food and was expensive, $40 for 2 lemonades (not fresh) and a shared sandwich with a scoop of rice and beans. The beach was small, not scenic, and not good for snorkeling or swimming. We did not go to a fruit stand even though there was time. I was disappointed.

Ask for Tristan!

We had an absolutely delightful time on our tour of Roatan with Tristan of RTT. The experience was professional yet customized to our needs as history buffs. Tristan got us everything we needed and we were very happy with the company and especially him. I highly recommend you request him on your visit.

100% recommended!

Excellent service from their entire team, I 100% recommend! We made an excursion as the day went by, we knew we wanted to do the slothyso we started there. Then went to West end and rode jetskis and had lunch, then decided to do Snorkeling and went to West bay beach. You are basically paying for an all day driver since the cost for each activity is separate, but we felt safe, comfortable, never rushed and it was also very affordable for a private excursion, we were always just our group and allowed to move at our own pace! Will definitely rebook with them.

Value packed fun .

Richard our guide was super , he had a wealth of island knowledge and insight. We say every part of the island we asked for. Our trip ended with a stop at the chocolate factory and then a short walk down the street to The Sun Set restaurant for lunch and full use of the beach . THIS WAS A FUN FILLED DAY.

Book with RTT! You will have the BEST day on Roatan!

We cannot say enough good things about RTT! Our family of 14 recently sailed on the Allure of The Seas with Royal Caribbean and being seasoned cruisers, we prefer not to book tours with the ship, but instead we like to reach out to local companies to enjoy a more personalized tour experience. Steve Bush at RTT made everything very easy. He was VERY patient with us while we coordinated with our larger group prior to our sailing to help us schedule which activities we wanted to do for our day in Port on Roatan. He was VERY courteous and responsive, and super helpful with many emails and texts prior to our arrival. When we reached the port of Roatan we had all of the information we needed to meet up with the RTT representatives. We were provided with very clear and easy to follow instructions by email and by text. It was a short walk from the ship to where we were met by 2 really nice ladies wearing RTT uniforms who checked us in and waited with us for the van to pick us up. We had a person in a wheelchair in our group and it was easy to navigate off the ship and to the van. We chose to reserve the 24 person Van/Bus which was perfect for our large group. The van is air-conditioned with plenty of spacious seating and there was room to stow the wheelchair which made it very convenient. Our guide, Shirma was AMAZING! She took us on a tour of the city-side of the island and kept us all very interested with her stories of growing up on the island and answering our questions about the local economy and politics. She is a fantastic tour guide! Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. The driver drove safely and without incident. They took us to the monkey & sloth park which was very fun. Our guides at the park were excellent and helped us interact with the animals with our comfort and safety in mind and they were very conscientious of and sensitive to the animals. If one of the monkeys didn't look like they wanted to play, they were not made to interact with us. We also did the zip-line at the same park. We have zip-lined many times at various places, and this was, by far, the best zip-lining experience we have ever had. The scenery is beautiful, and the guides are fun and easy going and they made it easy for everyone -even those who were a little scared at first. The zip-lining took about 45 minutes. After the park, Shirma and our driver took us to a smaller and more private beach located on the West End about 30 minutes away. We had a WONDERFUL afternoon on the quiet beach in the quaint town and relaxed in the Ocean. We enjoyed food and drinks from the local restaurant. (Be advised that the restaurant does charge a pretty penny. We were surprised at how expensive it was, but we were happy to support the local economy). None of us wanted to leave when it was time to get back to the ship, and Shirma made sure that we were all prepped and ready to go so that the driver could get us back to the ship in plenty of time to make All-Aboard. We had a 5-star experience and truly appreciate all of the help and effort on Steve's part and on the part of his team. They value their clients and it shows.! We are planning on going back to Roatan again soon and we will definitely be booking more adventures with Steve and his team at RTT. Thank you!!!

Wonderful guided tour!

We had Joshua as our driver/guide-born and raised on Roratan. He took us to 2 fabulous parks and to the West End for lunch. He was extremely knowledgeable about his island and we hope to utilize him again!!

Relaxing Roatan

Ten of us enjoyed a fantastic tour on Roatan in September, 2022. It was led by Andy and Marcus was our excellent driver. We added participants at the last minute and Steve Bush made the necessary adjustments to make it happen. We saw the sloths, monkeys, macaws, and iguanas. We then went through the tunnel of mangroves and lunched at the “Hole In the Wall”, literally. Andy was a wealth of information about the island, the inhabitants over the centuries, the economy, and the enjoy life attitude of the Roatan people. I was profoundly thanked by the participants for booking such a wonderful experience. Many, many thanks to Steve, Andy, and Marcus.

Another Amazing Day In Roatan!

This is our second time booking with Steve and his company to take us around Roatan. We had the great pleasure of having Joshua as our guide for the day. He is Steve’s son and knows the island inside out because he was born and raised there. We did our obligatory monkey and sloth visit which is always the highlight lol. We then made our way to the water and enjoyed a boat ride through the Mangrove Tunnels. The waters are crystal clear and the mangroves are peaceful and beautiful. We hung out with Joshua and his family for lunch and could have stayed another day because they were so joyful to be with! I highly recommend this company for they are professionalism and also they are investment in the community. Steve sponsors youth soccer and Joshua is a coach. We look forward to visiting again! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Respite in Roatán

I visited Roatán to take a break from city life. I definitely have to concur with other guests that have toured with Roatán Trips and Tours. They provided TOP NOTCH service and attentiveness. I customized my tour and it was THE best of my experiences while visiting Honduras. The owner, Steve, reached out a couple of days prior to make sure I was prepared with things to bring and suggestion on footwear which was very helpful. It can sometimes be unnerving being on a tour as a solo female traveler, but I immediately was put at ease and had a great vibe with my guide, Jonathan. Not only was he timely and answered my abundance of questions, but he gave great recommendations for places to eat that were apart from the tourist trips. If you ever find yourself in Roatán and have a few hours, I recommend contacting Roatán Trips and Tours!

Best excursion we had all week

My favorite part was that we had full control on where we went. Unlike other tours, we were able to pick and choose the attractions on the island that we wanted to see. It was difficult to find a tour that did everything we wanted and nothing we didn't want to endure. Brian was EXTREMELY knowledgeable of the island and it was great to have him. I'll admit I was a little nervous going away from the 'main stream' tour companies and leave the gate on our own adventure to find a tour amid the stream of tourists and vendors. Once we met Brian he took us into a neighborhood while he retrieved the van. Again, I was a little nervous but it all worked out great. He took us to see some beautiful vistas for some fantastic photo opportunities and then to the places we requested. Sloth farm, chocolate factory, rum tasting and cameo museum. He took us to some souvenir shops and even advised us if we could buy what we were looking for less expensive. Then he took us to a restaurant where we could get lunch and let us sample a dish that wasn't on the menu but he knew was available. It was incredible. After that he dropped us at the pier which concluded a fantastic day.

Friendly crew

There was some confusion about my tour as I was added to another one. Everyone was polio. Driver ran air in van while I was waiting. Tour leader and driver were very friendly. They adapted the tour as it was raining.

Highlight of our trip!

We planned a private custom tour with Roatan Trips and Tours for our party of 10 when we were there for our cruise. We chose to do a cultural tour of the island, a visit to the monkey and sloth farm and snorkeling. This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip! From the beginning, Steve, the owner, gave us very clear directions on how to find him. Then we met Richard, who was our tour guide. He was the best! He worked so hard to keep us happy. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a tour guide work so hard and do so much for us. He was very informative and educated us on Roatan, its history, and current culture as we drove around the island. It was very entertaining for both adults and kids. Our first stop was at the highest point in Roatan for a beautiful view and some great local shopping. After that, we continued on our cultural tour as we drove around the island. Richard was sure he made special stops for us to get drinks and to use clean bathrooms along the way (very important for our group). Next we headed to the Monkey and sloth sanctuary, which was amazing! I believe it was most of our groups’ favorite part of our trip. We were able to be in the monkey cage while they jumped around, and walked on some of us. They were so cute! Then holding the sloths at the end was such special moment! After the sanctuary we stopped at a rum factory and got some great rum and cake tasters while overlooking an amazing view of the island and ocean. Then we stopped by the chocolate factory before we headed onto our boat to do some snorkeling. Snorkeling by the reef was beautiful! Our snorkeling guide was great in pointing out interesting fish, and taking us around the amazing reef. After snorkeling we hung out at the beach for cocktails while Richard delivered us a local food favorite, Baleadas, which were delicious! Then it was back to the ship after a photo stop at the Roatan sign. All in all our excursion could not have been better. We all highly recommend this excursion, especially with Richard.

Perfect day in Roatan!

Book this company and you won’t be disappointed! Josh was our tour guide and he was fabulous. Very informative and gave us a great look at local culture. Treated us to empanadas that were delicious and we made a stop for gelato that was just as good. We saw several sites, went horseback riding on the beach, and held a sloth and various other animals. We saw a lot, learned a lot and by the end of the tour we felt like we had made a new friend. My only regrets are that we couldn’t stay longer and we forgot to get a picture of our group with Josh included!

Love the Jet Skis

We did jetskis and beach tour and it was amazing. My tour guide Ryan was so sweet, the the guys who brought us our jetskis were respectful and professional. We were able to go out alone and just enjoy an hour out on the ocean. Would definitely do this again. Eli and Tara

An entertaining and Learning experience

Taking this tour was very much a learning experience. Andy entertained us with the history and beauty of the island. He was always willing to answer questions and provide us with the best possible exploration of his homeland.

Fab Tour, Fab Guide! Twelve Star!

Roatan is a beautiful island with lots of beautiful people; we were very much impressed. Steve Bush, the RT &T "man in charge", emailed us a few weeks ahead, an incredibly detailed map and directions on how to find them when we arrived in port! It made life so much easier! Joshua, our tour guide and driver, was just plain AWESOME!!! A very bright and intuitive young man with a true global view, he made the day. He loves his island and it was clear in all he told us and showed us! Not only was he smart and knowledgeable, he loves people and this could be seen as he interacted with not only us but all those he came into contact with throughout the day! This was a wonderful experience and I am so grateful we were able to take this tour! P.S. I got to hold Charlie, the sweet girl sloth, and it was very special!

"Fantastic Day on Roatan with Sherna and Roberto"

After four others didn't show up for our booked land and beach club tour, we had a private tour with guide Sherna and driver Roberto on 3/3/2022. We decided to skip the beach club and asked them to take us on a driving tour around most of the island. It was wonderful as we saw all parts of the island with its history explained. Had lunch at a small local beach restaurant on an out-of-the-way beautiful beach. Food was great and we treated them to lunch with us. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we now have new friends to visit again!!

Great day out in Roatan.

We had a great day out with Josh, an informative, interesting young man. He drove us to some contrasting parts of the island, and we felt we got to know a lot about Roatan. Some of the scenery is stunning. We saw monkeys, a sloth, a toucan and other animals. We did zip lining and visited an iguana park. The experience is very flexible and Josh can offer a range of activities and sights. I would recommend doing some research beforehand, but also trust any suggested itinerary from the company. Super personal tour!

We had a great day with Josh who took us on a trip including horseback, zipline, monkeys, sloth, mangroves, rum factory and my favorite, lunch. We felt like were got a very personal tour in that Josh told us a lot about the island and also shared personal stories about his family. But back to lunch. I asked Josh to take us somewhere we could get a very authentic island meal and he did not disappoint. We stopped on the side of the road where some very nice women were selling homecooked meals including chicken and pork with rice and beans that was arguably our best meal of the trip! Thanks for a great day Josh!

Amazing Day on Roatan

Sherna was our guide and she was amazing. She took us to the sloth and monkey sanctuary. We also went to Paradise Beach club. The beach is absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend Rt&T tours.

Experience beautiful Roaton in a relaxing atmosphere.

Our driver Joshua made our visit to Roatan very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about his beautiful island. He took us where we wanted to go and also out of the way places that you usually don’t get to see with other excursion companies. When we go back we definitely will do this again and request Joshua. The directions we were given to find them were easy to follow and I recommend you take a taxi for $2.00 a person outside the gates and they’ll take you right to your driver. I recommend this for anyone who has mobility difficulties, they were able to accommodate my mobility scooter.Thanks again Joshua we already miss you. Next time we plan on bringing Famous Amos Cookies for the kids that dance along the road.

Amazing & Insightful

Roatan Trips & Tours did an amazing job up front helping to customize our tour. Once we arrived at port their map instructions were very helpful and we found our driver Andy with ease. Our driver Andy was professional, courteous, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and gave 200%. The ride was very smooth and we had no delays. If you are considering to visit Roatan we highly recommend RTT.

Totally Awesome!

Our driver Joshua was excellent !!! He brought us every where we wanted to go and gave us a great tour of the Island. He was extremely knowledgeable about the Island's history, people, economy, politics and answered all of our questions. He was a native, born and raised and seemed to know everyone. He was very funny and we got along very well. The vehicle was very comfortable with great A/C. I highly recommend this group and ask for Joshua! I hope to return some day soon.

Best Day of our Vacation!

We all agreed that this was the best day of our vacation. Our guide and driver were friendly and accommodating - by the end of the day we included them in our family photos. We had a long list of things we wanted to see and do and they made it happen. Snorkling, Horseback riding on the beach, Sloths and Monkeys, and Chocolate - What a beautiful island - thank you for showing us around. Highly recommended.
