Unforgettable experience in the heart of the Himalayas

We spent an amazing week on the Har Ki Dun trek. The trek itself is not too difficult but the views on the valleys and snow topped mountains are incredible. It was also a great occasion to get to know the small villages and locals on the way everyone being very welcoming. Our guide Mukesh was very helpful and always there to give us more information about India and the mountains which made us enjoy the trek even more. The daily food was various and really tasty so we will certainly miss it. Last but not least we enjoyed sleeping in the tents along the way, the calm of the nature and the stargazing at night will stay in good memory. All together we highly recommend Himalayan Shelter and would book a trek with them again without hesitation.

Har Ki Dun Trek

I participated in the Har Ki Dun trek organized by Himalaya Shelters, led by Mukesh and his team. The experience was truly remarkable, exceeding my expectations. The stunning beauty of the mountains, waterfalls, and the genuine simplicity of the local people left a lasting impression on me. The trek was meticulously organized, with thorough planning evident in every aspect. Mukesh and his team were not only friendly but also ensured that no one was left behind. The food provided was of high quality, including dishes like chhole puri, gulab jamun, bread pakodas, sandwiches, and more, served fresh and hot during the trek. Best Experience, Best Guide, Best Food 👍🏻

I would like to thank Himalaya Shelter and team members Mukesh ji, Thoiba, Sonu ji and Devender ji for helping us to gain such proud moment and worth living experience. Special thanks to Mukesh ji!! My life would be fairly easy and safe above 11000 feet because of him.. 🤌🏻 It was just possible due to helping, understanding and friendly nature of guide. Most important thing was the Best and Healthy food throughout our trek which is utmost important for trekking. Himalaya Shelter has best facilities to cherish the moment with fullest. I went solo and came back with 25, Himalaya Shelter gave me so many friends, Millions of memories and taught me different way of living due to their simple and systematic way of working.

Great experience , kudos to team

The perfectly planned trek under Mukesh and team guidance. I couldn’t have asked for anything better in the entire trip. The most amazing part was the quality of food provided on the altitude where the resources are not easy to find. We had Rajma chole Various dals, gulab jamun, sahi toast, soup of top notch quality and many more things. We were a group of 23 and 4 guides Mukesh, Thoiba, Sonu and Devender guided us thoroughly to achieve our target of Har ki dun. The team is having hard working people and they deserve all the respect for the support they provided. They are good in Hindi and English and so the foreigners also were feeling comfortable while getting the brief pf the trek. The trek had amazing views and the valley was mesmerising. The trip was planned so that no one is left behind. The only challenge is we got out of network for 5 days and unable to contact family. However if you tell your family in advance, then they should not be worried and it will be a blessing that you are unreachable for the world and enjoy the nature without any interference. Tents were good in the camp and sleeping bags were of good quality. Lodge rooms were good and hot water was provided. Will try next trip again with the same team. Thanks Krishna Pansari

Best travel company one should refer. They provide extra care for all their travellers meeting the every needs of the trekkers. Staff members are very friendly and cooperative. Will take extra mile to make sure the trekkers are comfortable.

Har ki Dun trek - (Oct 29- Nov 04 ) 2023

1. Very capable and committed team. 2. Excellent and surprisingly healthy food provided more than what we anticipated, both at guest house and camps. 3. Guides Saurabh and Hrithik constantly alerted us on the conditions and the timing of the daily pursuit of goals. Following them carefully ensured that we are not surprised by hostile weather, especially in the afternoons. 4. Guest house at Sankri was a little sub par compared the trek service which was very high class. Facilities at the guest house can be little more consistent like electricity, geyser and WiFi etc. But there is nothing on the staff who tried their best to allow for uninterrupted service. Overall experience was fantastic for a first time trekker like me. Regards, Ravi

Amazing experience with Himalaya Shelter

We had an amazing experience with Himalaya Shelter on our Har ki Dun trek. This was my second trek with them after a gap of four years and they really lived up to their reputation for being the warmest and friendliest hosts to their guests. Though our group had only two people for the major portion of the trek, no aspect about transportation, accompaniment, guidance, stay and food was ever compromised even a little bit. Our guide Surendra sir did a great job encouraging us and giving us valuable information along the way while also providing all important company for the two of us. This he did while always being very friendly and positive throughout. The staff at all campsites were really helpful and courteous while dishing out heavenly tasting food and keeping us well fed and energized for all days of the trek. Even the staff at the guesthouse in base camp Sankri made sure we really enjoyed our stay there before and after the trek. Overall, what was already a great experience in terms of scenery and natural beauty was definitely amplified many times over by the smooth logistical arrangements and the most welcoming hospitality by Himalaya shelter. Will definitely recommend Himalaya Shelter to anyone considering future treks in Himalayas and also will look forward to trekking with them in the future.

Exhilarating 60!!

This was my first trek at age 60 it was organised extremely well … by the local pahadis who are indigenous to this terrain and know exactly how to take you to your destination…. They are passionate to the mountains and their knowledge, patience & strength is our blessing…. I was very happy and impressed with them! Our personal guide Surendra was god sent if it was not for him, I could not have made it. Heartfelt thanks to him and his team 🙏😊… Hrithik, Rocky & Mukesh. They served us some very authentic pahadi food with flavours that we savoured at the end of each day!! Surendra I named him Shiva, as it was Shiva who helped me climb 🙏

A surreal experience!!

An incredible experience in the mountains..the whole terrain was so beautiful , we were lucky to witness a snowfall too.. Bachanji & team were extremely helpful in making our trek easier..our guides Jyoti, Mukesh, Arjun, Suresh were always so encouraging..totally recommend Himalaya Shelter.

Fantastic experience with Himalayan shelters

It was very good experience. The food quality, safety measures, expertise of the guide, punctuality during overall trek, all was perfectly placed. Specially talking about food quality, we got such a delicious food that we couldn't even got in hotels of dehradun. Himalayn shelters took the proper care that we are not getting out of our comfort zone. I'm really happy with this experience. Keep it up team!

A Fantabulous Trek!

Day 1 comprises a comfortable bus journey of 7-8 hours. The bus proved by Himalayan Shelter is clean with charging ports. The long journey upto Sankari Base Camp is broken down into methodically planned sight seeing, resting and eating halts. The Sankari stay is a fine experience coupled with the first glimpse of the mighty Himalayas, fragrance of Deodars, apple orchards and the magical show put up by the clouds. The hotel is overall very comfortable and to douse fears of most, with warm water. The trekking group of upto 12 individuals (max) are extremely manageable making each one's experience splendid. The kit provided including tents and sleeping bags are clean and hygienic. The show stopper apart from nature (undisputedly) is the food provided by Himalayan Shelter. A simple curated menu with hygienic and tasty hot meals and snacks are amazing. The guides are your motivation banks and are well versed with the local flora and fauna. They are sons of the soil who will always have your back. Himalayan Shelter optimally caters to the abilities and requirements of each trekker to give an overall fantastic experience. It's undoubtedly my trekking choice in times to come.

Fantastic Experience

Absolutely wonderful team headed by Mr Bachan Rana. Being the founder, he had no qualms in lifting bags, running mules or any task at hand that ensured we were well looked after. Being on a customised itinerary, he really spoilt us with the kind of service & food we haven't witnessed on any other trek. Nothing went unnoticed and he always watched over us incase we got too adventurous. We first did kedarkantha summit and then proceeded onto Har ki Dun and had it not been for the wonderful support of his team, we probably would have not had such a wonderful time despite such a challenging itinerary. Well respected by all we met along the way, his selection of camp sites and the his service put bachhanji in a class of his own! Local of the Osla Village, he knew the place like the back of his hand. Would come back again and again to Himalayan Shelter

Har Ki Dun and Kedarkantha Trek

We had a very wonderful Experience Trekking with Himalayan Shelter. Mr. Bachan Rana and his team of guides and cooks extremely helpful and with very good knowledge. We had a 5 Star treatment staying with them. The food variety and quality and quantity was absolutely great. We did this trek to Har Ki Dun immd after trekking with them to Kedarkantha. The service and knowledge provided by Mr. Bachan Rana was immense. We also saw how respected Mr. Bachan Rana is amongst the villagers and other trek organisers. Hands down this has been our best trekking experience.

Highly Recommended !

Went with 5 friends and did Kedarkanta summit and also Har Ki Dun with them, a customized itinerary. We were lucky to have Mr Bachhan accompany us throughout the travel. We got the best service and arrangements. The staff also was very friendly and made our travel very comfortable. Highly recommend Himalayan Shelter. Look forward to more treks with them.

Goumukh - Tapovan - Vasuki Tal

We did the Har Ki Dun - Ruinsara - Bali pass trek in Jun 2022 and Goumukh - Tapovan - Vasuki Tal trek in Oct 2022 with Himalaya Shelter. Highly highly recommend them. Very friendly and resourceful staff. Both the treks were planned and executed very well. They always had our comfort and safety prioritized. Food was also very good. For our future treks, we will not look elsewhere.

Gaumukh-Tapovan trek

I had been to Har ki Dun trek with Himalayan Shelter with family and the experience was awesome. This time I was plannimg to go solo to Gaumukh-Tapovan trek and I trusted none other then Himalayan Shelter. as my previous experience with them was great.our trek leader Saurabh and guide Suresh made it very easy and helped each one of us. The food was delicious with large variety of options. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trek.

Kashmir Great Lakes

We had been to Har ki Dun trek with Himalaya Shelter. So, when we found out that they were organizing Kashmir Great Lakes trek, we immediately booked it. Our previous experience with them was great and we had no complaints (The food was amazing). KGL is usually highly sought after and it's very tough to get a slot with any of the popular trekking companies. I would highly recommend going with Himalaya Shelter. Their food was just too good (again). Subodh (Trek leader) and the guides (Mukesh, Nitin) were very helpful. They pushed everyone according to their limits and made sure everyone had a great time. Overall, we had a lot of fun on this trek. Personally, I can't wait to go for another trek with Himalaya Shelter :)

SOUL CLEANSED AT THERE.. WITH HIMALAYA SHELTER.

"HAR KI DUN" Namshkar, this was my 2nd trek with Team Himalaya Shelter and as always i love to trek with them because of THA HAPPY FACES in their team. this time Sureshbhaiya and Prakashbhaiya were our ring leaders :) Let's start this beautiful story with their nature, they were talking to everyone in the group about mother nature,about life,about life of the pahadi people, some villages like gangad, osla, puani garat.... and some philosophy also:) and much more... about sureshbhaiya, one thing i want to tell you guys that, Almost everyone who met on those beautiful trails or walked in front of him knew him.and they were calling him loudly by..SURESHAAAAA... :) not any formalities,may be not any personal relations ..Yet there was a different kind of connection between human beings. i have took some pictures of their phenomenal connections. about prakashbhaiya, he calls himself LIGHT. :) he calls "view" as "HUM-TUM" :) (WE=HUM, YOU=TUM, WEYOU=VIEW=HUM-TUM) :) we had some beautiful sessions after dinner in dinner tent.about uttrakhand, about travelling, about some movies,some songs... both of them always with us and made us comfortable with the team of them. the cook and sanjubhai also nice person, You would never have thought that you would be able to eat such a delicious food across such a height.(ofcourse with smiling face) hats off to them. oky so, lets talk about har ki dun, it is not only the place, it is heaven on the earth.if you believe in god,you have to believe in pahad.cz god is there. Thanks you Himalayan Shelter for a phenomenal experience

Thanks to Thrillophilia for such an excellent service and arrangements along with Himalayan Shelter. This was my first Himalayan Trek and I was quite nervous about the experience and so much of walking. But it turned out to be an amazing experience. Himalayan Shelter were amazing in organising the whole trip. It was a little difficult trek due to extensive walking but what made it absolutely phenomenal was the service by crew of Himalayan Shelter. They provided amazing food, sweedish (especially at dinner each day), snacks, clean tents everyday and everything you need. The view was absolutely captivating and alluring. We passed through so many jungles, crossed bridges, scaled mountains, bathed in rivers, passed so many springs&waterfalls, had fun in snowfall, spotted vultures, walked along the Shupin river the whole time and then reached the last and the most beautiful location Har ki dun itself. Our guide Subodh sir did an amazing job in explaining every little detail along the trek and took care of each of us, sometime soon even going beyond capacity. Also Uttam and Jaiveer bhai served appetising delicacies all the time. Overall it was a life time of an experience and a journey I will always cherish.

Har ki doon

Another amazing trek with Himalaya Shelter. We camped at beautiful spots and were provided with fresh cooked nutritious meals on all days. The entire group was well taken care of. The natural beauty of Har ki doon valley is unmatched, as it offers viewes of the swargarohini group of mountains. The valley is also starting point of other surrounding treks to Jaundhar glacier, marinda tal. The har ki dun - ruinsara trek etc.

Brilliant!

Did har ki dun and ruinsara tal trek over 9 days with subodh as trek leader. It was one of the best experiences I had. On one hand the team made sure that our camping experience was comfortable with respect to sleeping, eating and essentials and on the other subodh made us feel very safe going through the adventures that we did. Would recommend himalayan shelter and the team any day. In fact we have decided to do this type of trek with them annually.

Incredible experience

We were blown away with the experience the Himalaya Shelter team provided us during our Har Ki Dun Trek. The guides were caring and attentive. Their never-ending positivity was amazing to be around. The guides truly go above and beyond to look after each trekking team member. Every day we were given delicious, freshly cooked food that exceeded all expectations. Our sleeping arrangements were comfortable and met our needs perfectly throughout our stay. Transport was also very well-organised. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend Himalaya Shelter for trekking tours and adventures.

Incredible Kedarkantha Experience in Winters

Undoubtedly Himalaya Shelter(HS) is one the best travelling organization to travel with. I really had an incredible experience with HS on the Kedarkantha trek in Dec 2021, the team were skilled, experienced, polite and very devoted. They were taking care of each and every member of the trekking group. Mukesh and Sanoj were guides who were professional and polite, they were taking care of all the things during our Kedarkantha trek and when Mukesh Sir became Mukesh Bhai, we didn't get to know. Everyone in the group was travelling at a different pace, Mukesh Bhai was covering everyone with no one left behind. Mukesh Bhai does have other trek experiences too like Har ki Dun, Rupin Pass etc so he has some wonderful trekking stories to tell. The best part, even at high altitude HS was providing us scrumptious breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks which was not totally expected. Words like compromise, adjust, manage etc weren't be used by any of us during our Kedarkantha Trek. I'm totally pleased and satisfied with the outstanding company and I would advise everyone to opt for HS for their forthcoming trips and treks.

Amazing trekking experience - truly life changing!

The trek has been one of the most life changing experiences I've had! I had been on one day treks before, but this was a very different activity in terms of patience, physical endurance and will power. The entire Himalayan shelter team ensured that I, and my friends, cherished and enjoyed the trek to the fullest. Starting from the chef/cook Hari Bhai, the trek leaders Deepak Sir and Ninja Sir to the coordinator Harsh - everyone made us feel at home at every point of the trek and motivated us through the challenging parts. I, personally, found several parts of the trek quite challenging, and Ninja sir took personal responsibility, slowed down for me, pulled me up and ensured that the at the end of it, I was more resilient and willing to do tougher treks. Loved the entire experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in treks - from beginners to pros! :D

Rupin Supin Trek

Trek experience was very good...this was our 2nd trek with Bachan and his team and my friends may be 15th Trek...it is very less explored part of the Govind National park and much better than the tourist/trekker heavy Kedarkantha and Har Ki dun...Very nice arrangements and our family of 4 adults and 4 teenagers had a awesome experience..the camp sites are very remote and in the lap of nature...highly recommend trek community to explore this area..

One thing that they do best is never leave anyone behind them always motivating and stuffing us with their awesome and delicious menu even at a place where it's hard to find a boiled a egg, Himalayan shelter made sure that we were always stuffed and ready to take the challenge be it rain snow or scorching sun "Ninja" made sure that we are fit and doing things the right way Every day from taking the cuttelery out of snow in the morning to checking on us during nights it was not just a trek for them but a way to make us feel the warmth and love of these mountains Service 4.5/5 - Take a walk with Bacchan sir to know about the beautiful flowers on the way and about the mesmerizing rivers and villages that you cross on your way -freedom to explore the wilderness -Always ahead to set the tents and our luggage - Well managed itenary so one will never be over exhausted and daily stretch was possible even by extremely slow walkers(As I was the last person to reach the base every day) Safety- 4.5/5 - Ninja explained us how to proceed with care and the techniques to walk difficult terrain with ease Hygiene- 4.5/5 - The staff with you will make sure that you keep your tents clean and maintain top hygeine in the mountains Food- 5/5 -Great breakfast to help you start the day - light lunch - Evening tea/coffee and delicious snacks - Dinner with delicious surprising deserts One thing that sets these guys apart is their determination to make you understand the local customs and culture of mountains by giving you options to stay at local village Osla which is one the best part of trip

Har Ki Dun my first trek

Was an astounding experience with an amazing group more flavors were added to the trek coz of the hospitality of our guide none other than Ninja(Subodh Sir) and Rana sir🔥💯 who didn't let us felt tired or bored and let us entertained and and were will full enthusiasm throughout the trek. Also gained lot of knowledge about the history and significance of Har Ki dun from our guide and enjoyed living in nature's lap. Also loved the food there especially tasty soups and sweets in that much altitude was appreciable. As was first trek of mine could not imagine better offerings than this. Many more treks with Himalayan shelters in future.
