Great way to spend and afternoon with friends

It was a great experience!! Tho the weather was cloudy and rainy, the staff of Ocean King was wonderful with enthusiasm, drinks and dinner. Would absolutely go again!

Great catamaran cruise

We didn’t know what exactly to expect but this boat tour totally exceeded our expectations. Great staff, friendly, and very safety conscious. The food and drinks were good but the highlights included the pod of dolphins that swam alongside us for about 15 minutes and the great views of land, mountains, islands and sunset. We’re in our 60s and quite a bit older than most of the crowd on this cruise. Still we all had a great time together. We hit the water slide into the ocean water and also spent time snorkeling. Lots to like about this professional crew and this clean modern catamaran. And there’s so much to enjoy about a scenic cruise along the Costa Rican coastline.

Disappointing, Rushed, Inedible "fish"

This tour was to include time for snorkeling, swimming, jumping off of the catamaran, and going down the slides. While it was not ideal water for snorkeling, that is what I (and many others) chose to do. I was provided child size fins that made it extremely difficult to swim out to the area where one could hope to see sea life. I finally made it out there and was able to view one or two types of fish. Someone picked up a small starfish and showed it to others. After less than 5 minutes around the coral formation where the water was more clear and viewing these things was possible, the accompanying staff member yelled at everyone to return to the boat. Service of lunch followed, which consisted of “fish”, rice, veggies, pasta, tortilla chips. I cannot speak about the rice and pasta as I did not have any but the “fish” did not look like fish nor did it taste like fish. It looked more like chicken or pork and also had a meat consistency. It was dry and did not taste good. I honestly could not identify the meat nor the “fish” I could be eating. I am normally a person to clean my plate, but I left half of this behind. The tortilla chips were somewhat stale, also. The lunch was quite disappointing. I have been to Costa Rica many times, always staying three weeks and going on multiple excursions, and this is by far the worst food I’ve ever been served on any excursion or in any restaurant. Further, the drinks were terrible. The mixes available were disgusting and I could not enjoy them. Additionally, this is the only snorkeling event with such little time allowed for it and inappropriate equipment being supplied. Of note, there were regular adult sized fins available, and the staff chose not to provide them to me even after I voiced the observation that the fins they handed me were for children or inappropriate. I snorkel frequently on my own in the States and I own my own snorkeling and scuba diving equipment--- I KNOW what they provided was inappropriate and this was upsetting as well as made it quite difficult to swim out to the snorkeling spot. Overall, I felt they rushed this entire “tour”. I was picked up at my hotel shortly after 8 am, we picked up more people on the way to the marina, then we departed the marina at approximately 9:30 am (being generous with the time here). I literally was BACK AT MY HOTEL by 12:30 pm, and this was after dropping multiple people off at hotels before me (I was the last hotel drop). This excursion was rushed and I feel people did not receive the value they paid for. I did not even get the chance to drink the four beverages included in the excursion due to LACK OF TIME. I am very disappointed. They must have started using nasty drink mixes and different cooks since the reviews raving about the delicious drinks and meal!!

Family bonding at its best

The catamaran was spotlessly clean and had ample seating for all the guests onboard. We saw whales soon after we left the harbor and the rest of the views of the coastline were breathtaking! We anchored near Manuel Antonio National Park and were able to swim, snorkel, jump off the top of the boat and use the slides. The meal was a home cooked local cuisine and the included drink had everyone feeling festive. A great experience for our entire family.

First Class Catamaran Excursion Staff/Crew are Amazing!

I had booked the catamaran day of my husband's 50th birthday for our group of 14. This tour was the highlight of our day. A local bakery had delivered a chocolate peanut butter cake to the catamaran. Once on board the staff/crew were ready to take care of us. As we made our way to the top of the catamaran, the bartenders were right there to get drink orders. We got to see whales and dolphins on our beautiful scenic drive. We spent the morning jumping, flipping, water sliding off the boat and swimming in the warm water. The drinks flowing and lunch were killer! Once we arrived back to the marina, the crew left us stay on the catamaran, while everyone got off. They brought out the cake and we all sang happy birthday. We all cannot say enough about this experience! The staff/crew were first class!! We cannot wait to do it again. We highly recommend this excursion it was truly a magical experience. Pura Vida!

Fantastic!

This is a fantastic trip! Collected from your hotel, taken to the boat which is so clean and well maintained, all staff are so helpful and so friendly always making sure you’re ok. Snacks, drinks and a nice (big!) lunch included. We saw whales and dolphins - the boat is careful not to get too close or stay for too long, they respect the animals. Stop for swimming and can use the slides and jump from the top. A great trip - would highly recommend!

Excellent trip, highlight was the whales!

Absolutely excellent from start to finish! We were picked up from our hotel but a very jolly chap. Boarded the Catamaran by 9.30am, four drinks included and it’s waiter service if you’d like. We saw a number of whales which was amazing, the best part was that they did not chase the whales, I’ve been on a lot of trips before and they hounded the wildlife. This was done with grace and care, clearly love their whales. A good stop for a swim, slide, jump and snorkel. A nice lunch with rice, pasta, veggies and fish. The service was excellent; the crew very happy and helpful. Would throughly recommend.

Great Last Minute Family Day on the Water!

We originally booked with Planet Dolphin Catamaran because we thought their boat would have a few less people. However, they cancelled on us last-minute. So I reached out to Ocean King via WhatsApp, and they responded immediately confirming our spot for the very next day. Price was great, and they picked us up from our hotel. We got on the boat, which probably holds around 175+, but it wasn't crowded at all. Possibly due to this being the lower season, but there were probably 75-100 people on board. This was perfect. There were plenty of people to mix with and make friends, but never some many that it felt crowded at all. Plenty of seating in the shade or the sun. They played music, but not so loud that it felt like a party boat. All the staff were very friendly, and they kept out drinks filled all day. Good chicken and fish for lunch. We saw several humpback whales and dolphins. My only wish was that we stayed at the swimming/sliding/jumping/snorkeling/lunch spot a little longer. 1 hour was not quite long enough. Overall, a great day on the water with the family, and we will book it first if we're every in Costa Rica again.

Ocean King Catamaran - Manuel Antonio

What an awesome way to see the coast around Manuel Antonio and spend the day on the ocean. We had fun in the ocean with diving and swimming, nice cocktails lunch and plenty of music. The crew made the day extra special. Muchas Garcias a Emilio y los otros amigos!

Mini cruise-like tour

Did the 9am tour. Had a cruise-like vibe with a microphone emcee, drink bracelets (4 per person), a decent lunch, waterslides, deck jumping, upbeat loud music, then later the macarena, bunny hop, & limbo. All in a good day's fun. A lot of seasick people and a couple drunk instagram girls even at 9am, so take the dramamine and find your chill spot, if you can, on the huge vessel. Plenty of space. Hot tubs were cold. Kid was too seasick to snorkel. The emcee told us there was likely no visibility due to rainy season, so I didn't feel we missed out. No dolphins that day but hey, that's nature. We did the slides and jumped off the top deck (havent done that kind of thing in years!), so ok in the end. It was nice to be on the water for a bit, but this was a long tour for my family and not the favorite part of the vacation. Your mileage may vary.

Best catamaran in quepos!!!!

This was a very fun day especially for our 5yo! We were lucky enough to see a whale!! If you want a fun dance party boat for all ages this is your crew!!! They were amazing xoxo

Fun in the sun

We did the morning Catamaran and choose to have pick up from the hotel. The crew were amazing. They were very attentive and informative. The food was really good CR fare. Everyone had a blast. We danced with knew friends and sang out loud. We jumped off decks and floated in the water.

Not really a snorkel cruise but a fine boat ride

This experience should probably be called a boat ride. The snorkeling is off the coast of a free beach and the water is very murky. There was one very small rock to snorkel around. You see everything in about ten mins. The boat does have slides and you can jump off the top during the hour snorkel time. The majority of the time you’re just riding on a boat. The food, drinks, and service are great. Not ideal for someone who actually wants to snorkel and see things though.

Amazing boat tour!!

Amazing boat tours. The boat amenities were fantastic and the service was very impressive. I highly recommend Ocean King to anyone.

Ocean king experience

The ocean king catamaran was a 10/10 experience. Me and my 2 friends (age 20-23) visited Manuel Antonio for the weekend and felt that a catamaran tour would be an effective way to see the island. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the office to pay and then to the marina. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and given a rundown on the boat before taking off. The price of the boat was $89 with 4 drinks included, snorkel gear, 2 water slides, and a full and proper lunch. There was nothing to be disappointed about as we saw dolphins, the beauty of Manuel Antonio nature park, as well as the lovely water. The lunch was one of the most delicious meals I had during my stay and the drinks were refreshing and delicious. On top of that there was a camera man that documented the whole trip. I would easily go back as it was an unforgettable experience. Thank you to all the crew and Luis the bartender :)

Very nice crew and a lot included in the price

We couldn’t snorkel due to weather, but that didn’t matter bc we had enough time jumping from the boat or using the slides to get in. The crew is very nice and it’s really relaxing

Fun day out!

Great fun, fun jumping off top of boat, good food and drink. Staff was very nice on the boat- would recommend.

Excursion for all ages!

This excursion fit our entire group of 10, ranging from ages 9 to 71. We should have brought some motion sickness meds but did not. The cove where the boat docked was great for swimming, taking the slide and jumping off the boat! The lunch was fine but not great. The drinks were fantastic and they even had virgin colados for the kids. I would do this excursion again!

Very good booze cruise!...

Very good booze cruise! Fun crew! It will be everything you want. Saw dolphins, did a diving competition off the top of the boat, hit the slide, danced, swam, pretty views, fun drinks. Go for it!

Clean, impressive boat, even better staff!!

I wasn't sure what to expect but bluntly, i was blown away! The boat leaves from a nice clean and modern area. The staff were kind, polite and helpful the entire time. Drinks were excellent and the food was great! We did get to see a number of dolphins, and despite it being cloudy, were able to swim around for awhile. I would recommend this tour without reservation. Best $85 I've spent on this trip so far! Our family really enjoyed it!

Great experience!

We had a blast. This tour was great for our kids and the food was great! We can’t wait to go again. The boat was nice and clean and the staff was even better. The water was warm and you see some cool stuff.

Outstanding hospitality by staff providing delicious food and free drinks. I really enjoyed watching the dolphins dancing in the ocean.

It’s just what you think it should be. Music, drinks and chill ride in the ocean. The jump off the side is really fun as well.

Wonderful service! Excellent bar drinks and music too! Sunset was beautiful. Rough waters so not good snorkeling but kids loved jumping off boat , sliding into the water and floating in the ocean. Highly recommend!

Great half day activity for the family

Such a fun half day tour! We were picked up by minibus from our hotel and after a short wait at the marina we were on board. We were lucky enough to have dolphins swimming alongside the catamaran which was incredible. Stopped at biesanz bay for snorkelling and water slide fun before a delicious lunch on board.

Fun for the entire family.

Spotlessly clean, well equipped with the most friendly, competent and FUN staff! The ship feels very stable and safe. The scenery is outstanding...and the tour activities provide something for every age. The food- outstanding!!! My teenaged grandaughter asked a crew member when supper would be served..he said about an hour...and then he brought her a plate of pasta!!!

Fun Sunset Cruise

Sooo much fun! My husband and I went on the sunset cruise and had such a great time. We saw a large dolphin pod, met others, danced, swam, and enjoyed the sunset. The catamaran crew was very friendly and contributed to the fun had by all. The views were spectacular and we were so glad they had a photographer on board to capture it all. We enjoyed our dinner and drinks and would definitely recommend this to friends or couples.

Perfect for family fun!

Everything was great! The food, the snorkling, the slides and jumps in the water. The staff even accepted our request to move the day of our cruise 1 hour before departure. I highly recommend this cruise.

A fun and relaxing experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard. The boat was spacious and comfortable, the service friendly and attentitive, the views were lovely, the meal and drinks tasty and refreshing, and the music lively and fun! It was a perfect way to end our week in Costa Rica on a high note. A great experience!

A must experience!!

This was one of our favourite experiences in Costa Rica! We took the sunset catamaran and it was a great experience through and through. The staff was fantastic and provided excellent service - Special shout out to Emilio! Lots of good beats on the boat, couldn’t stop myself from dancing. The food and drinks were also delicious. My kids loved it as well (7yrs old and 10yrs old) and they got to enjoy jumping off the boat, two jacuzzis, swimming and the slides. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any marine life that day (which is a gamble right?) but this wouldn’t stop me from going time and time again. Highly recommend!

Awful

This was a HORRIBLE experience. We went with our family of 6. It was so inappropriate for families. Loud music playing the whole time, people vaping, multiple couples making out, half way through the majority of the boat was drunk. My 16 year old daughter got grabbed by a gross old man. It was awful. If you’ve never been on a boat before and you want a party scene then it’s great. If you’re an experienced boater with any degree of class stay far far away.

Okay but pass if your goal is to snorkel or see dolphins

The staff were great, they hustled the entire cruise. Gilbert in particular asked me 3 or 4 times if he could get us a drink and if we were good. The food was better than I expected and our children were all happy to eat what was offered. That said, I was sort of hoping based on the marketing that there would be an attempt to find dolphins or other ocean life and to take us to a decent snorkeling spot. If that’s what you are looking for, I would pass on this excursion. They have a set route and stick to it. We waited to get snorkelling gear (everyone on the boat seemed to need to be first in line and I told my kids to be patient because they told us they had enough for everyone) but when it came to our turn we were told they can only hand out snorkelling gear for 10 minutes and the 10 minutes had passed but not to worry because there would be nothing to see anyway. Disappointing and will be difficult to convince my kids to be patient in the future. Also take note that there are no shoes allowed to be worn on the boat. They have a spot to stow them safely but as you can imagine, after 3 hours on a boat with 150 people eating, drinking, dancing, swimming etc the deck is (in my opinion) pretty gross. The staff did do their best to hose it off but there’s only so much you can do with that many people still on board. By the end my feet felt pretty soggy and my kids were begging for shoes. We enjoyed the views, the sunset, the food and the kids had fun jumping and trying the slide (only one was used on our trip).

Power-catamaraning around Quepos...

Beautiful day for a catamaran cruise. Explored all around the Quepos area, saw some dolphins, had some drinks and good food, and snorkeled with the fishes around an underwater rock. Gilbert and others took good care of us. It was an afternoon well spent.

Awesome as always!

This was my third time going on this catamaran, and each experience has been unique. My husband and I took my mom and son on it for the first time, and everyone had a blast! The team was so accommodating and kind to all of us. My mom can’t get around very easily, and they drive her to and from the boat on a golf cart to help out. Made it even more accessible for the elderly. It was a great trip all around!

We had the best time on this tour!! So so much fun! One of the many highlights in Manuel Antonio. We loved the vibe, music and atmosphere. Not many people on the boat made it an even better experience

Fun and relaxation!

We had so much fun on this tour. A fun party vibe, good music, and very attentive staff made this one of my favorite experiences in Costa Rica. We are not big on snorkeling, and I guess there wasn't a lot to see, but we thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and delicious lunch. The views are beautiful, and the waterslide and jump off into the water was very refreshing. There was also a photographer on board to document all the fun, with option to buy the photos at the end. We did the morning trip, next time I'd like to try the sunset trip.

Fun boat tour that is worth your money.

The Catamaran was a perfect way to end our whole week beach vacation. Staff was well organized and coordinated from loading onto the ship and off. Jose, the host, spoke good english abd communicated well with clear instructions. It was about 4 hours of boat time but they perfectly timed spots along the tour such as dolphin sightings, stops along islands infront of the manuel antonio, and enough time to enjoy the sunset before pulling to the docks. Definitely worth the money as you not only get time on a fun double deck boat, snorkle time, water slide, fresh dinner, and even 4 drinks from the bar.

No Show Service

We arranged for a bus tour of Costa Rica many months in advance. We also set up local tours at spot the bus tour covered. Catamaran Ocean King (COK) tours we paid for. We scheduled an 8 AM cruise with COK. During the bus tour our tour director said COK rescheduled the cruise for 1:30 PM for the same day. Then, later in the bus tour we were told it was rescheduled back to 8 AM. Then, the bus tour co. gave us a letter saying the cruise was rescheduled to 8:15 AM that day. COK never showed up to pick us up at the hotel as was part of the tour. After much effort we contacted COK. Initially they asked us to call a taxi to get ourselves to the marina. When we balked at that, since they were to provide pickup service, we rescheduled for 1:30 PM. We did go at that time. COK is poorly run and managed.

Great time! Very nice boat and staff! Beautiful scenery. Saw dolphins! Dinner was hot and tasty too!

This boat was so fun we drove from bejuco beach just to go totally worth it. loved the drinks and lit atmosphere definitely recommend

Our Best day in Manuel Antonio

I thought it was going to be just another booze cruise, but it was so much more than that. I went with my son and niece (25 and 26) and everyone agreed this tour was the highlight of the trip. Swimming, snorkeling, good food, and music made it so much fun and festive. We saw beautiful vistas of the coastline, dolphins and an amazing sunset. Highly recommend!! *****

Beautiful afternoon party cruise.

Despite nearly missing our pickup, only time on my booking said 2:00 and it was a 1:00 pickup for a 2:00 cruise, we managed to make it and had great time. It was a very warm day and my main concern was getting some shade, turned out to not be a problem, lots of cover if you want it. I picked the Ocean King as it is the largest of the boats that go out from Quepos so figured it would be the most stable in case the ocean was rough. As we set out, as soon as the bar was open there was a mad rush to the bar for drinks. We were at the back of the boat so I figured we would just wait until it settled down. Then along came Gilbert, who took our order for drinks and returned fairly quickly. He was awesome for the whole trip. I was just thinking about going up to the bar for another and he intercepted me and said he would bring me another. He totally took care of us the whole time. The cruise itself is really nice, went down by the National Park, had Dolphins swimming alongside us. Stopped in the bay by Biesanz beach for swimming and snorkeling. I don’t think there’s really much to see, maybe the odd fish. Some people jumped from the top of the boat. I had about a 20 minute swim, they have life jackets for all if you just want to float awhile. After that they served a nice meal of fish, rice, beans and veggies. It was pretty good. Headed back towards the marina, for Sunset, great photo opportunities. Then back to the dock, shuttle to our hotel. Really a beautiful afternoon. It’s definitely a party boat, music and dancing and plenty of drinks.

Best time

Been traveling to Quepos for about 10 years now and this excursion never gets old! Amazing time and even more amazing staff! Can’t wait for my next trip as we love Ocean King 🥰

Poor service

The whole experience started off bad when the shuttle picked us up 45 minutes late. It was already past 2pm and we were so nervous they just forgot about us or that we had missed it. We eventually get to the marina and have to wait another 20-30 minutes to get onto the boat. At this point it was almost 3pm and we were just leaving. We got to see whales and the food was delicious but other than that we were disappointed. The on board photographer got no photos of us and everytime we tried to order a drink they conveniently “forgot to make it” even after tipping. Either way the 1 drink we did get was watered down. We got back to the port before 6pm making the trip less than 3 hours which sucked because we paid so much money for 4 hours. Seems like a great idea, but shoddy execution.

Great staff and wonderful experience

Our Family of four had a great time. This is my second time on the Ocean King and it didn’t disappoint. Definitely more older child and adult designed. Excellent crew and you can’t pass up the beauty of the Costa Rican coast.

The experience itself was...

The experience itself was great, most of the staff and the photographer were very friendly and we felt super safe. However, the check in experience was terrible. The captain was very short and super rude to my Costa Rican husband and friends from Venezuela while he was more accommodating to me and my white family. The booking process was also confusing, my aunts picked the option of reserving but paying later, but then the company didn't have the reservation.

Bigger not always better

Fun time and goos service but a little too crowded. Next time I would choose a smaller boat/catamaran

Great time, but just OK

An enjoyable catamaran excursion with nice boat and staff. However, expect to wait in line a long time to just reconfirm your booking. As we reach the swim destination, the staff tells us not to expect to see anything if snorkeling, when it was marketed as a snorkeling tour. One of the slides was closed. Food was ok. Highlight was an unexpected family of humpback whales. For the price, just ok. Staff on board was friendly and service oriented.

This was the highlight of our honeymoon! So much fun! The staff was wonderful! Included food and drinks and got to swim & snorkel too. Highly recommend!
