The ladies that took us on our magical tour through Rangelands was amazing. Very knowledgeable on the area and the surrounds. I was worried about being with an older group that I’d miss out on exploring the rocks. Vicki encouraged me to go off and explore places that the others could not. It made my trip and I would highly recommend seeing all the sights that they have to offer.

Amazing country, geology, environment and country side

Our second time with Red Dirt Tours. The Rangelands Rift and Sunset Tour is amazing. Vicki is so knowledgeable of the area, wildlife and geology. The platter and wine on the jump up for sunset is top notch. The walk through the geological rifts is amazing. Can not recommend this tour company highly enough, 5 stars is not enough.

Really enjoyed the tour

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the local plant life and the history of the place and made it a really interesting and enjoyable trip. We saw emus and wallaroos on our drive up to the rifts and a few cute bats inside the rifts themselves. The rock formations really are amazing and our guide gave us plenty of opportunities to take pics so I got lots of great photos.

Rangelands and rifts tour - Winton

Having a glass of wine and enjoying delicious nibbles while watching the sunset was great, but the tour offers so much more. Dana, our tour guide, made this tour so enjoyable and informative. We learnt a lot about the geology, flora and fauna, aboriginal history etc of this area, and appreciate Dana sharing her wealth of knowledge.

Sunset up on the Rangelands

Just before sunset we explored the strange rock formations and learned about the flora,fauna and indigenous people of the area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and stressed the need to be careful clambering over the rocks. A very tasty platter of nibbles and a drink was provided whole we settled down to enjoy the evening colours. This is a very pleasant excursion.

Hills full of surprises.

Breathtaking landscape with stunning sunset views. Exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend. From the road or distance we would never have known these spectacular rock rifts and formations existed. Thankyou for such an informative and relaxing evening.

Fantastic Tour

Fantastic tour. Our host, Dana had so much information on Winton and Rangelands Rift. The sunset was spectacular.

Rangeland Station sunset tour

What a special treat. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be the only guests on this tour, still really early in the season. The guides were very knowledgeable. The scenery is spectacular. Walking amongst the eroding Rifts gives you a sense of the power and the resilience of nature. Then, the sunset was surreal. The quiet was palpable. You felt at one with the earth. A closeness to God as you watch the beauty of the sky change colour.

Amazing Rock Formations

I chose this tour as it looked different to other places that I had seen before, and I was not disappointed. My husband and I were picked up from our accommodation by Dana and driven out to "Rangelands" which is a privately owned property about 10 kilometers outside of Winton. We proceeded to drive up onto the top of one of the ridges, passing the luxury tents where you can stay on the property. Prior to sunset, we went for a walk down into the rift formations that form from wind and water erosion at the edge of the ridge. Dana supplied information about the local plant and animal life along the walk as well as answering any questions. After the walk we went to the sunset side of the ridge, where we settled in to enjoy the scenery along with a glass of wine and a tray of nibbles prepared by Dana. Once the sun had gone down and many photos were taken, we were returned to our accommodation.

Not to be missed

A great photographic experience for everyone. Fantastic views everywhere you look and the sunset was one of the best I have seen anywhere. There was drinks and nibbles as well and it was truly a great highlight of the Winton area. Staff were great and very helpful. Friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience just that bit better with all their knowledge

Amazing colours

Excellent service, Vicki picked us up from our accommodation. Very good commentary along the way. Exploring the rifts is great, lovely views around the jump up and the setting sun highlighting the colours of the boulders contrasting with the brilliant clear blue sky. Great nibbles provided by Vicki as we had a few drinks while taking in the changing colours as the sun set and concluded our visit to the jump up with the moon above..

Beautiful Sunset

What better way to end our wonderful outback adventure than to toast a sunset. Rangelands at Winton has the most amazing view. Red Dirt Tours and our host & guide Vicki certainly know how to showcase Winton. Thank you Red Dirt Tours

Beautiful Sunset

The tour was fantastic. Our kids had a ball climbing over the rocks. Vicki is very knowledgeable. The view from the sunset spot was amazing! Totally recommend the tour!

A beautiful evening

The scenary was spectacular and as it's on private property you wouldn't get to see this particular area if not on the tour. Vicky is very knowledgeable about the area and we never felt rushed.

The bus, great! Vicki’s knowledge & info sharing was much appreciated. We weren’t rushed, the tour was done at a leisurely pace, allowing time for photos & exploring. The snacks = delicious & the location was amazing.

Spectacular sunset

Loved this tour for something different! The rock rifts were incredible, but the sunset views were spectacular. Its a wonderful place to stop and watch the world. The colours after the the sunset were incredible. A lovely experience (and Vicky is such a wonderful tour guide who has amazing knowledge of Winton)

Spectacular

You can only see the Rifts in the Rangelands by tour as it is on private property. It was interesting to see this unique rock formation and the sunset was spectacular. Would highly recommend this tour.

Great late afternoon and early evening tour with a host who clearly loves her job. Detailed local knowledge and access to stunning views, this little trip is well worth the cost. Pick up from your accommodation is an added bonus

Fantastic!

I just did the Rangelands Rifts and Sunset Tour. Absolutely amazing, Vicki was a fantastic guide showing us through beautiful landscapes and then to top it off a beautiful sunset. Picked up and dropped of to accommodation, I wish I was staying longer so I could do more tours with them!

A unique experience learning about the country near Winton.

A tour of the Rifts followed by a fantastic sunset looking west over a vast plain. The after glow shared with friends made it a memorable evening.

Sunset and so much more

Vicki was fantastic. She has so much local knowledge. We saw the rifts from above and below on the Mesa. Saw the little bats. The sunset was amazing! I’m a cheese lover and cheese platter was really excellent. I’ll do this again when I’m in Winton.

Fantastic way to spend an evening in the outback.

We went on this tour to see an outback sunset, which didn’t disappoint, but what we hadn’t expected was the interesting drive to get to the lookout. We went in the 4 wheel drive bus through Rangelands Station to the jump-ups, formed over millions of years by erosion. The top is the original height of the land. Vicki our guide gave a comprehensive overview of the local geography and walked us through the rifts between the rocks which were formed when the softer sandstone/rock was eroded away. Vicki and Hilton were fantastic Guide and hosts. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Winton. Thanks Vicki.

Outback experience

We have just had four nights in Winton staying at the comfortable Outback motel the hosts there were lovely, what a fabulous time we had learnt a lot with Vicki our guide having a wealth of knowledge & passion for the area, wildlife & flora. Vicki was also very obliging with helping us to get around Winton.
