Hartley's Crocodile Adventures Day Trip from Cairns

Overpriced - Pay at the centre upon arrival

Do not book this tour through Viator if you are doing a self drive. We paid $118 per adult and at the centre it is $45 that you can just pay at the door for the exact same experience. When I reached out to customer service they said the tickets are a fixed price of $80 then when I said I paid $118 per ticket they said they used the wrong currency?? A total rip off if you are doing a self drive.

Hartley's Crocodile Adventure...An Unforgetable Experience

We booked a "Breakfast With Koalas" & enjoyed being able to pat Rosie, a 4 year old female Koala who was very calm & affectionate! An amazing experience! We then took a boat trip around a lagoon while watching the guide feed some of the huge crocodiles! It was fascinating to watch these huge crocodiles surrounding our boat & jumping out of the water to grab a chicken that the guide had dangling on a pole! Their jaws are so powerful that they sound like a gunshot when they snap their jaws! Aidan, our boat operator & crocodile expert was very informative & gave a great crocodile tour! When visiting Cairns, don't miss visiting Hartley's Crocodile Adventure! So much to see here!

Could have been honest

Advised operator that we would be travelling from Port Douglas, they suggested we met the trip at the park. We did this and paid £120 for the trip only to be given a park entry ticket that would have cost me £50 to buy on the gate

Hartley"s crocodile

Unfortunately due to the cyclone closing parts off we didn't get to see everything, but what we did do & see was very enjoyable

Great plan and experience to see crocodiles close to you. Amazing facilities and activities. It is a wonderful place to visit with family or friends

Up close and personal with some crocs

Wow. I have never been so close to saltwater crocodiles. I felt very safe and the guide was very funny and educational. He knew the area very well and shared a lot with us.

Nice Crocodile experience, DO NOT use the pick up service cause they rush you so much

We love the Hartley crocodile experience. The three star is for the hotel pick up service. We got picked by 8:20 am and told return is going to be 1:30pm. To whom ever organised these time: it is a 45 minutes drive, by the time bus arrived at Hartlley’s, it is already passed 9am, which people would miss the 9am Cassowary Feeding and Crocodile Farm show. The leaving time is even more ridiculous, 1:30pm, it will not give you enough time to finish the 1pm Crocodile Farm show started at 1pm, you won’t have enough time to enjoy the Crocodile pie from the Cafe; you will even have NO chance at all to make the 3pm Crocodile Attack Show. Because we have to make our way back at 1:30pm! Spent almost few hundreds $$ for the day (two adults and two kids) and was rushed out of the park. It was a shame. I would tell all my friends to hire a car or call Uber there. Because that way, you get to see what you have paid for and enjoy your time there. Not to be rushed and miss out on activities.

Hartleys crocodile experience

Great 1/2 day at Hartleys crocodiles . Very interesting & lots of reptiles to see. The snake show was good seeing 2 different types of snake out of their surroundings . The crocodile show was fantastic with a very brave lady taking the lead & showing us how ferocious the cricket was . All in all a great 1/2 day trip !

Great experience

There is the best crocodile attack show I have ever watched. And best snake talk that lady talked so much details about snakes and she answered all the questions from audience.

Fantastic day out

The lagoon ride and crocodile attack show were spectacular. And all the other animals were great too. Fantastic place to visit.

Bus driver had an attitude

The park is worth a half day tour. The driver from the bus company had an attitude. We asked him what time will we arrive at the park and the answer was “you have a problem? If I explain to you you now I need to explain to everyone that get on the bus later.”

The view was amazing and astonishing I would highly recommend especially the 3pm croc show just overall amazing

Viator charged thrice the price of actual price at the gate

We were 11 people with 3 families and actial price was 45$ per adult and 22.5 for kids at the gate and Viator charges 112$ per adult and 56 for kids. which is too expensive and unreasonable.

This was cheesy but well worth it. Young or old fun to see all the animals and the events were entertaining and informative. Highly recommend!

Worth a look for half a day

Perfect for half a day, you’d struggle to find enough to do for a full day. Was a bit shocked to find they sell actual crocodile skin products.

Koalas, Crocs & Kangaroos OH MY!

Holding a Koala; petting the kangaroos, the crocodile show & seeing the exotic creatures made this a must see memorable adventure!

We took a tour which left...

We took a tour which left us rushed. We didn't make it in time to explore the farm area. We had to be on the boat by 3.40pm so we missed part of the crocodile attack show. We didn't see any crocodiles on the boat ride. The driver said it was because the crocodiles are so well feed and not hungry. By the time the boat returned we had missed part of the next talk. So we went to look at the kangaroos and got told they wanted to close that area. . We got told you can get your photo taken with an animal then pat the koala after the photo. That was not true. We got rushed so badly it was extremely rude. The staff were impatient and rude. We had around 3 seconds take the photo n rushed away.

A great day out.

A good 1/2 day out. Nice park and the guy we had on the boat trip on the lake was great, very funny. Does not require a full day, 5 hours more than enough time. Would recommend.

Best way to see lots of Cairns wildlife quickly

A great half day experience to get up and close with Hartleys crocodiles, take a quick cruise on the lake and see plenty of other wildlife. Make sure you get to the kitchen early as it closes well before the park does.

Generally a good day

Generally it was a good day. Unfortunately the morning leaves before the crocodile attack show and we had to leave part way through the snake show to go on the boat show.

Great day out! The staff are really fun and very knowledgeable making the shows fun and entertaining!

Great fun day out! Plenty of crocs to see and the boat cruise was awesome. Staff were friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour. Cafe was reasonably priced and the food was good.

Kelly the Koala was so exciting to see and hold!

We enjoyed riding the boat and seeing the crocodiles and the other animals on display there but the highlight was holding Kelly the Koala for our pictures.

Very close interaction with animals, kids loved it.

Apart from being too busy which makes sense during school holidays, everything is good from the staff to facilities and the experience.

Awful

First, I wanna say that I put one start because it doesn’t allow to put 0 stars. Second, The place should be call Zoo. All the animals are in cages. There are plenty crocodiles everywhere. But in really small areas for them. Some of them they leave alone in one area. They could even move. I saw snakes in small cages. Spiders in a shoe box side cage. It was ridiculous. It’s awful they can treat animals on that way. I will only recommend this place for people who’s expecting to go to a Zoo. It’s not a wildlife place. It’s not only a farm crocodile.

Fun day trip

Good fun, something to do with the kids. Watched the snake show, the croc attack show, and went on the boat to watch the crocs being fed.

Hartley’s is a wildlife must Do

Hartley’s from pickup to dropoff was a great experience. You will not be disappointed if crocs are what you want to see. Crocs, reptiles, koalas etc are everywhere and the Croc show was amazing.

Snapping crocodiles

Crocodiles were amazing! The staff were quick to respond after my niece had a fall. A great place to visit.

Often you visit these places snd you see the occasional crocodile but there were crocodiles everywhere and the information sessions were great well worth a visit when you come to Cairns

It was great! Thanks so much. We had lots of fun. Especially kids loved crocodile feeding, crocodile and snake shows. The girl who did the crocodile show, did it amazingly. Wow experience for sure!

Defective mic and aircon

The tour was good overall. The microphone in the tour bus was horrible - no one could hear anything the driver announced. And the inside temperature was freezing cold with an out of control aircon.

Excellent!! Great staff - very friendly and keen to make you have a great time! Highly recommend, just Gondwana section is under renovation at the moment and not much to see in that part. definitely all worth the money. The park is worth checking out, holding and getting a photo with a freshwater croc was the highlight for me.

Surreal, fun, great day out

Driver Roy picked me up and told me all about the park and the things to see out of the window on the drive. Great guy, really happy and friendly. The boat ride is brilliant & the man driving the boat was funny as hell cracking jokes and getting the crocodiles to jump out of the water right next to us. Everything about the day was perfect and for the price, an absolute bargain. Couldn’t recommend it more, make sure you go! Thanks to everyone at Hartleys.

Great fun for everyone

What a great place to spend a day. It is everything it advertises to be with lots of Australia animals. The shows are informative and the a animals look well cared for. Can easily spend a whole day here.

Great Day

It is about a 50 minute drive from CBD of Cairns to get to Harley's. They have programs throughout the day which are interesting. You can get your picture taken with a koala and for 15 dollars you get to feed the fresh water crocodiles with a long bamboo pole and a piece of chicken attached by a string, two times. Hartley's has a good selection of Australian animals, you can also feed kangaroos as well. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone who likes animals.

Highlight of Cairns trip

This tour was my last on my last day in Australia and I had two wishes: to see a crocodile and to hold a koala bear. My expectations were certainly surpassed! I travelled alone yet did not feel alone, from the pick up to all the shows, friendly staff and drop off, I had an amazing day and would recommend. Highlights: Feeding a crocodile Feeding a kangaroo out of my hands Experiencing a live crocodile show (all animals are very respected) Holding a koala Riding a boat and witnessing so many crocs was amazing Great for families, couples and solo
